Chapter 38 Echoes (Season 4 Finale & Finale)
A.N. – This is it! The finale of this story idea! Remember I said it was a 100+ hours…I think in total this whole story was 200-300+ hours of research/writing. This was a challenge, and, in the end, this is the light at the end of the tunnel. So, let's end this adventure of the Lyoko Warriors! Also, the memories for Ulrich and William took a while as well as some of the edited scenes. Hope you like what I choose. P.S – Evolution will never happen. If someone wants to take a stab at it, let me know.

It's a few days since the defeat of Xana, and the Lyoko Warriors can now live normal lives, if they weren't depressed. Odd plays with his spoon from his soup, he didn't feel hungry today. Ulrich feels the same as he felt he didn't come back long enough. Jeremy rocks his chair back and forth. All of them are silent as Aelita turns to Odd.
"Odd, do you want my croissant?" She offers him.
"No, I've got my own, and I not that hungry" Odd replies.
"Yeah, me neither" everyone else replies.
"How you doing, losers?" Sissi stands in front of them with a smirk. Herb and Nicolas join her side. "Well, it looks like the lame-o club is all depressed today."
"That only happens when you show up" Odd glares up at her.
"Very funny Della Robbia," she retorts as Nicolas laughs. Herb elbows him and he shuts up. Sissi leans in towards Ulrich, placing a hand on his shoulder. "Ulrich, honey, if there's anything I can do to cheer you up…just say the word." She plants a small chip behind his collar.
"Yeah, disappear" he tells her.
"No problem. Bye now" she waves and leaves the table. She gives Yumi and William a scoff as they enter. They approach the table.
"Hey guys. Well, today's the day, I guess. Everyone ready?" Yumi asks.
"Yeah" Odd comments sadly.
"Well then, let's go and shut down the supercomputer!"
"And end this chapter of our lives!" William adds.
Yumi opens the manhole cover as she steps in first, followed by William, Odd, Jeremy, Aelita, and Ulrich. However, none of them knew Sissi was tracking them.
"Bingo! Thanks to this mini-GPS, I'm gonna find out what made Ulrich go crazy and what he and his gang's secret is at last!" Sissi was convinced Jeremy and his gang had something to do with Ulrich's madness. She would soon uncover the whole truth.
They enter the supercalculator room, Jeremy slowly walking up to it. He presses the button as the lever lowers.
"Well, it'll all be over this time…do any of you wanna say something?" Jeremy asks them.
Yumi decides to do it. She clears her throat. "We've had our share of ups and downs. Hours of detention, hours of glory. The six of us have gotten used to life with Lyoko. Now it's time for new life without it."
Yumi flips, throwing her fan. She swings around in the air in Sector 5, holding the edge.
In the digital sea, she moves a lever backward, spinning her navskid around.
She jumps and throws her fans, defeating a monster. She lands in front of her Overwing.
Yumi absorbs lasers with her weapons in Sector 5 from a manta.
She uses a krab's leg to jump onto another one, the first one firing. She dodges and spins around, throwing her fan.
Ulrich gets his saber stuck inside the core chamber. Yumi sweeps his feet and kicks him to a wall.
Ulrich tries multiple combos trying to defeat Yumi, and she dodges all of them.
Yumi devirtualizes William and Ulrich runs up and tackles her.
Ulrich rushes Yumi in the core. She does the same and pushes him off the edge, where one of her fans devirtualizes him.
She flies past a tarantula on her Overwing, throwing her fan, and destroying the monster.
She eyes a monster in the digital sea, locking on target. She moved the lever forward and fired the torpedoes.
She spins around, dodging lasers with her fans.
She jumps onto her Overwing, she is holding her fan.
The Overwing gets hit from behind, knocking her onto the ground.
Ulrich wakes up to find a pillar falling from Yumi's telekinesis. Ulrich just lays there as he is to exhausted to move and the pillar crushes him.
With her power, she summoned her fans to fly back to her.
Yumi's navskid spins around.
Ulrich was chasing after her on top of a manta in the mountain sector. She flies through a tunnel on her Overwing.
She runs in the ice sector towards a monster, front flipping to hide behind a rock.
She backflips past lasers, jumping around.
She lands on her feet in front of a krab, flipping past it.
Yumi lands safely, fans in hand and jumping up.
She backflips and throws her fan at Ulrich's manta.
She catches her fans swiftly.
Yumi has a smile on her face at the memories. "Go on Jeremy" Yumi tells him.
He grips the lever but is hesitated to pull it. He remembers everything the machine did.
"I sure hope I'm not gonna regret this in a minute," Jeremy says as he activates the supercalculator. "Huh? Wow!"
Aelita pops up on the monitor. "What's all this?" He asks in confusion. "A video game?" Aelita opens her eyes.
"Huh? Who…who are you? Where am I?" Aelita questions as she doesn't remember anything.
"Xana? What's that?" Odd asks.
"A super dangerous program, like a virus, which can control electricity and that activates towers on Lyoko to gain access to your world."
"Only Aelita can counteract it by deactivating the tower that it uses for attacks in the real world," Jeremy explains. "Aelita is linked to Xana. We have to find a way to rematerialize her."
After a year of fighting Xana, Aelita was rematerialized.
"And this is your room," Jim starts as he enters an empty room. "There's not that much space for you, but you'll like it here, Miss…um…"
"Stones," Aelita tells him. "Aelita Stones."
"I've already seen this house in a dream" Aelita says, regarding the Hermitage.
"Aelita, you're the daughter of Franz Hopper, the creator of Lyoko" Jeremy tells her.
"Xana's escaped form the supercomputer!" Jeremy exclaims as Xana leaves the factory.
"With this virtual submarine, we'll be able to track Xana on the network!"
The skid approaches one of Xana's replicas.
"It's another virtual world, just lie Lyoko! A replica, created by Xana!"
"But for what?" Yumi asks.
"It looks like some sort of factory assembly line…" Yumi starts.
"But for what?" William asks next.
"Xana's plan is to take control of hundreds of supercomputers all over the world, in order to make an army of robots to take over all of humanity" Jeremy states.
Odd and Aelita walk past the army.
"Our only hope of destroying Xana is my multi-agent system."
The program activates, spreading out across the sectors and the digital sea.
"Aelita, William, we did it. Xana's been destroyed" Jeremy reports at the two are standing in the celestial dome.
Jeremy ends up letting go of the lever, glancing over his shoulder. "I'm sorry, but I can't."
"What?!" Yumi exclaims at this. "Are you out of your mind? What's wrong with you?"
"I can't shut it down" he tells her, looking away.
"You can't Jeremy, or you won't?"
"I don't know." Even if it was difficult circumstances, the supercomputer is the reason why all six of them are together today.
"Look, it's very simple. We destroyed Xana, and now we have to shut down this horrible machine! What are the rest of you waiting for, tell him!" All the others have sad looks. "What is wrong with all of you?"
"Well," Odd looks up at her. "It's just that we all feel a little shook up."
"I can see that," she retorts back, crossing her arms. "Any suggestions?"
"I've got one. Why don't we take a vote? And see who does or doesn't want to shut it down?" Jeremy suggests to her.
"Sure, why not?"
"Okay" Odd and Aelita both agree.
"Who votes for?" Jeremy asks and Yumi and William raise a finger.
She glances at the others.
"So, that's where they hang out," Sissi writes down in her notebook, smiling. "The old, abandoned factory is their secret hiding place!"
"Let's go there now!" Herb exclaims eagerly.
"Not right away dork," she narrows her eyes. "If we go now, we'll run right into them! I think I'll go over there during gym class, but you guys are gonna have to find some excuse for my being absent."
"What do you want us to say?" Nicolas asks.
"I don't know, just say the first thing that pops into your head!"
"Uh, okay."
Yumi is looking at a soda can by herself. Jeremy walks up to her alone. "Hey," he speaks up and she simply sips her drink.
"I'm not in the mood to talk."
"Good, cuz it's me who wants to talk to you. I wanted to explain to you why I voted against shutting down the supercomputer…"
"I'm not in the mood to hear that either" she stands up, about to leave.
"Do you remember when I came here?" Yumi stops walking and listens. "The big brain of Kadic, straight-A computer genius and not one single friend. I discovered Lyoko and everything changed for me. I became a hero who could save the world with friends, and I found a girl who I care for deeply."
"I know you like Aelita, but this had to end. We had to stop Xana from taking over. We couldn't fight a war. If we shut down the supercomputer, we stop all possibilities."
"I know, but…I don't wanna lose what we've got together, our friendship…"
Yumi realizes what he means.
"We're gonna do everything we can to find your father Aelita" Yumi tells her.
"Fighting against Xana is my job" Aelita closes her eyes.
"No Aelita," Jeremy spoke up as Yumi holds a hand out to her. Odd does the same. "It's our job."
Aelita smiles hopefully, taking Yumi and Odd's hand.
"Our friendship is directly linked to the supercomputer. I'm afraid that if we shut it, it'll also shut our friendship down." Jeremy explains to Yumi as the bell rings. "See you later. I got gym…"
"Hold on," Yumi grabs his arm. "I understand what you're feeling but you're wrong. Our friendship is too strong to shut down. We've known each other for too long to drift apart."
He smiles in relief.
"Belpois?" Jim is taking role. "Belpois!"
Jeremy rushes into the room in his gym clothes. "Present!"
"Delmas?"
"Where were you?" Aelita whispers to him.
"Delmas!"
"With Yumi, I'll tell you later" Jeremy whispers back.
"Elizabeth Delmas!" Jim shouts, but gets no answer, Herb and Nicolas glance at each other. "Does anyone know where Sissi is?"
"She ran into some aliens and went totally crazy" Nicolas states, earning laughter from the class.
"Are you nut or are you just dumb?" Herb asks him.
"Aliens, huh?" Jim stares them down. "And little green men like you, Poliakoff? After class, we'll go tell the principal that his daughter's crazy, and if she's not, it's detention for you on Planet Jim!"
"That was the first thing that popped into my head" Nicolas glances at his friend.
Sissi runs across the bridge to the factory. She walks up to the stairs, staring down at the floor.
"Right. Today's lesson is RSG. No, RSG does not stand for Rough Sports Games, or for Raunchy Slobbering Gorillas, or for Reeking Stick of Garlic. RSG means Rhythmic Sport of Gymnastics, known today as rhythmic gymnastics."
"Odd, can I ask you a question?" Ulrich whispers to him.
"About RSG?" He asks.
"No! About the supercomputer. Why'd you vote not to shut it down?"
He closes his eyes for a brief second, leaning in towards Ulrich. "I was afraid I'd miss it."
"Miss what?"
"The fighting, the adventure, the heroics…all the fun stuff."
Odd flips into the air, landing on the Overboard.
In his new avatar, he fires torpedoes from his navskid. They go flying.
He flies above a blok that was firing at him.
He spins around on his Overboard.
He vaults in the air with his Overboard.
Odd spins around in the ice sector, using make-shift ramps to fly into the air with a cheer, he goes forward.
Odd flips into the air while defending the skid, hitting a creeper with a laser arrow.
He climbs up a wall that Aelita created to separate her from the others while she was possessed.
Odd flies over a tarantula, firing and destroying it. He lands on his Overboard.
He spins around his Overboard, heading off in the mountain sector.
He jumps and lands on a manta, scratching at its back.
He dodges Ulrich's slash attacks.
He punches a creeper in the face, battling like it was a boxing match.
Odd falls and lands on a manta in sector 5.
Odd flies the board around in the forest sector.
He lands on a block of ice, a tarantula staring him down.
He jumps off his Overboard, flipping around and firing a laser arrow.
He lands on top of a blok and jumps, gripping the end of his Overboard. "Laser arrow!" He fires at a hornet.
"Without Lyoko, life's gonna be awfully boring, don't you think so?"
"Boring? Finally having the time for music and sports is not exactly what I call boring" Ulrich whispers back.
Odd skates down a ramp in the skateboard competition, showing off some moves. The crowd claps for him.
"Way to go Odd, nice one!" Ulrich cheers, standing up.
"Okay, point for you," Odd admits. "It's true, I know how to have fun when I have the time."
"And you'll also have more time to find new girlfriends" Ulrich quips.
"All the girls are crazy about me already. I don't need the extra time."
"Hi" Odd places a hand on a girl's shoulder, and she quickly turns to him.
"I thought I told you never talk to me again!"
Someone pats his shoulder, and he looks to see an angry Emily standing there. "How dare you lie to everyone and say that I'm in love with Jim?!"
"Uhh…" He sweats nervously. Jeremy and Ulrich all cringe as they hear the slap.
"Ouch!"
He is left with a re mark on his cheek. "Try that again and even your dog won't recognize you!"
The two laugh behind him.
Yumi as Odd gets slapped by Magali. "I know all about Claire! You are so despicable!"
"Odd, I know all about Magali," Claire walks up to him/her. "You sneaky rat!" Then he/she gets slapped again.
Odd coughs awkwardly at the last one, since it was Yumi and not him.
"Now that you mention it, a little extra time wouldn't hurt. That's 2 points for you."
"Stern, Della Robbia!" Jim calls out, getting their attention. "If this lesson is disturbing your little private conversation, please let me know!"
"Uh, we're sorry Jim" Ulrich says in embarrassment.
Jim just huffs at them. "Okay. My first demonstration, one, two-" He makes one move and cracks his spine. "Ah, my Flannigan! I'm stuck! I can't straight up! Oh, it hurts, ahh!"
Everyone laughs again at him. "Rusty Squeaking Gym Teacher, so that's what RSG stands for!" Odd jokes.
"Stern, Della Robbia! To the principal's office right now!"
Sissi is still using the GPS, looking around the factory.
"By the way Ulrich, what about you?" Odd asks him. "I thought you'd be all for shutting down the supercomputer, after what happened to you. Don't give me Jim's 'I'd rather not talk about it' routine."
"Mm…" Ulrich looks away in thought.
Ulrich uses his triplicate to fight four bloks. He is able to stab one as his clones fall.
Ulrich uses his second ability, triangulate, to confuse a blok. He jumps on top of it and stabs the eye.
Ulrich uses his triangulate on a hornet. His clones are destroyed and the real one destroys it.
He comes in backflipping destroying one last hornet.
Ulrich cuts the legs off a krab, and it falls in front of him. He stabs the eye, and it explodes.
Ulrich protects Aelita from bloks. He jumps onto one, stabbing it, then throwing his saber, destroying both.
A megatank opens up and fires at Ulrich, he jumps and stabs the eye.
Ulrich runs up to the Scyphozoa. Slicing its tentacles. He catches Yumi, who Xana went after her mysteriously.
Ulrich uses his Overbike to go above an army of krabs. He takes out his saber and stabs 3 of them in a row.
Ulrich lands on a blok, and jumps in front of Aelita, and starts to attack the Marabounta.
Ulrich blocks a laser from a krab in the real world, protecting Yumi. He backflips avoiding more lasers.
Ulrich's sword glows and he swings it, an energy slash hits two creepers in sector 5.
Ulrich duels his evil clone in the mountain sector. He snatches his sword from the clone and stabs it through the chest.
Ulrich jumps up in the air holding a pipe and destroys Xana's food monster in the factory.
And finally, Ulrich returns to Lyoko in his new avatar. He and William reach the head of the Kolossus. He jumps, flips and stabs the head. William eventually stabs the sword. The Kolossus falls onto Ulrich but was defeated because of him and William.
"I liked being a hero. I guess I never thought I got full redemption. I just got back, and we're destroying Xana. He was a threat, yes, but it didn't feel right" Ulrich explains to him.
Sissi crawls down the ladder and reaches the lab. "Wonder what this is all about?" She turns on the computer and finds Jeremy's files. "Let's see now…Diary of Jeremy Belpois. Very interesting." She taps enter and a video plays.
"The Diary of Jeremy Belpois, a student at Kadic Academy, 8th grade, October 9th. A few weeks ago, I was looking for some parts to finish my miniature robots." She gasps and skips forward. "I discovered a sort of data processing complex with the lab, and scanners. Most of all, a totally incredible computer! Tonight…even though I'm scared stiff, I decided to start up the supercomputer. Hope everything goes okay."
The bell rings and everyone leaves class. Yumi walks down the hall. "Yumi!" William calls out to her. "Wait up." She turns to him. "Did you talk to the others?"
"Only Jeremy. I haven't seen the others yet," Yumi responds. Why did you vote with me?"
"Just like the others, I don't want the Lyoko days to end, but the supercomputer is too dangerous to leave on."
"William? Are you okay?" Aelita asks in sector 5.
He pants slowly…then turns around and reveals his Xana eyes.
"Even though my time was short, I had a blast with you guys. And I found out about Aelita and me because of it. "Now I'm ready to live my life again. But I forget these times."
William launches a sword slash at a manta in the core.
William flings his sword at the creepers. He spins and defeats 3 of them.
"So Stern, having a little Lyoko adventure of your own I see," William says as Ulrich growls at him. "You sure have changed, haven't you?" Ulrich draws his sabers that glow red.
William jumps off the Overbike in his new avatar. Even though Ulrich avoids it, it hits a tarantula.
Ulrich tries to devirtualize William near the log, but he dodges before he can connect.
Ulrich readies his weapon. William steps back a bit, ducking underneath his saber and hitting Ulrich in the stomach. After he recovers, he is met with William's foot.
William slices a leg from a krab. It loses balance and falls into the digital sea. William salutes him.
William follows behind Ulrich who is following Odd. He fires two torpedoes, destroying Ulrich's ship.
"You crossed a line Ulrich!" William exclaims to him.
"You're dealing with Xana now!" Xana says, drawing both sabers.
"Good. I've been wanting to fight the mastermind."
William goes in like a madman, destroying kankerlots left and right in the desert replica supercomputer room.
William crawls in a space in the sector 5 replica. He hits the key before he is devirtualized.
William super smokes behind the Scyphozoa, jumps in the air, and strikes it, and slices it in half.
William and Ulrich both charge at each other. They both stab and devirtualize each other.
William and Xana exchange punches as they fall off the Kolossus.
William jumps off the Kolossus striking the sword and landing in the transporter.
"What about you? Why are you ready?" He asks her.
"Lyoko gave us everything. I think we all lost what a normal life was. It will be different, but okay" Yumi responds.
"Hey, you got Ulrich. If you ask me, he is the true winner. Besides, I think Lyoko gave us all something."
"I guess so."
Yumi got Ulrich, Jeremy met Aelita, a family was rebuilt, and they all became great friends. All because of Lyoko.
"Xana managed to broadcast this deadly music. Aelita deactivated the tower, before everyone in the city was wiped out." Sissi fast-forwards even more. "The principal was possessed by Xana, but everything turned out just fine. Interesting antidote! Sissi helps us out and kissed Ulrich on the bridge."
"I WHAT?!" Obviously Sissi doesn't remember.
"Xana's attacking all the time. We're too busy to think about school. I suggested that we recruit William Dunbar into our group, and even though Yumi isn't 100% on board, she agrees."
"Huh?"
"I found out Xana had planted a virus inside Ulrich's virtual structure, which ultimately in the end, gave Xana full control over him. He destroyed Lyoko. While everyone else is safe, Ulrich is lost, and I can't help but blame myself because I couldn't deactivate the virus. However, we did find out that William and Aelita are brother and sister."
"They're what?!"
"Today Xana possessed Sissi, his new victim. She almost killed my cousin. There are giant roots in the park. Krabs are attacking the school. We have to save Lyoko! The Earth is in danger!"
"NOOOOOO!" Sissi holds her head.
Aelita and Jeremy are walking together, sitting at the stairs.
"Well, we just have to wait for Delmas to finish chewing out Ulrich and Odd" Jeremy says to her.
"Jeremy, I wanted to talk to you about the supercomputer," Aelita speaks up. "I…"
"No need to explain Aelita," he holds up a hand. "I know exactly why you voted the way you did."
She sighs a little, looking at the ground. "If we shut down the machine, it means saying goodbye to my past…"
Franz Hopper played the piano as Aelita ran inside the Hermitage, smiling. "Daddy! I'm going up to my room."
She sat on the floor before a car skidded up to the house.
"Come out of there!" She stood up in fear at the man's voice.
"See you in a bit Aelita" Franz says as they are in the scanners.
"See you in a minute, daddy" Aelita says as she is virtualized onto Lyoko in the forest sector.
"You mustn't forget me…ever…never forget Aelita."
She runs up to a simulation bubble, stepping inside of it. She appears in front of their former home. Franz Hopper turns to her.
"Daddy?"
"Aelita?" He holds out his arms.
"Daddy!"
"We have so much catching up to do…and in so little time."
Ulrich slashes at Aelita, who ends up at the edge. She creates a mega energy orb. Ulrich absorbs it and his sabers glow pink. He aims his sabers at her and fires a pink beam at her. She falls over and activates her wings.
Aelita fires an energy orb at Ulrich. He blocks, but the force is enough to send him flying back. She lands on the platform.
An energy field flies past the krab, and fires at her. She ducks using her wings.
A megatank opens up, preparing to fire.
She gasps up ahead, flying the Overwing upward and firing at the megatank.
She hits a manta with an energy field.
She pilots the skid, firing torpedoes of her own. She tilts the lever.
She brings the ship into a replica.
Aelita reaches out and uses the interface.
She docks the skid to a tower.
She pilots the skid, releasing the navskids.
A smile hit her as she moves the lever.
She flies into a path of rocks. She is being chased by hornets. They dodged left and right.
Odd hits Aelita's bracelet, causing her wings to activate. She flew upwards to catch him.
The simulation bubble breaks into pieces.
She uses her creativity to create a rock for Yumi and William to land on.
She flies into the air, flying towards an activated tower.
She steps into an activated tower, running inside. She lifts herself into the air.
A scanner opens, and as the smoke clears William and Aelita see two hands grasp the scanner and when it fully clears, they see the face of Franz Hopper looking at them.
"All of this is so terrible…and great at the same time. But…but…"
Before she can say something, Jeremy kisses her and finishes. "But now, it's time to move on to something new?"
"Yes. Something more carefree…maybe be with someone who cares for me deeply."
"I'm starting to think that way too Aelita. You know, it's really crazy when you think of all we did, and no one is ever gonna know anything about it."
"I know everything," Sissi speaks up, shocking the both of them. "And wait until I tell my father!"
"And so, if I understand correctly, you said RSG stood for Rusty Squeaking Jim?" Mr. Delmas asks for two.
"Gym teacher with a G, not J for Jim" Odd elaborates.
"Thank you for the clarification, but that's…just as bad" Mr. Delmas tells them.
"Daddy!" Sissi storms into the office, surprising the two.
"Elizabeth dear, you've already had an 18 month advance on your allowance, and I refuse to give you another cent! And you interrupted me as I was scolding Stern and Della Robbia!" He scolds her.
"You shouldn't scold them; you should lock all of them up! They're lunatics!" She points at the two. "They put the whole world in danger!" The door opens behind her.
"You can't go in there!" A staff member protests as Jeremy and Aelita as they run in.
"We have to!" Jeremy says back.
"Ah ha! Jeremy! Who's the smart one now that I'm onto your little secret! Don't feel like making fun of me now, do you Odd?" She gives him an accusing look.
"Elizabeth, that is enough!" Mr. Delmas stands up.
"Listen to me, I'm serious. For months, they've been fighting a dangerous computer program in a virtual universe. They put their own lives in danger, and us too!" Because of them, the school was invaded by killer hornets, killer crows, and even a deadly giant teddy bear! Even you, my sweet little daddy, were possessed by the program! You even fought against Ulrich on the bridge to the old factory! Luckily, I was there, and I was able to knock you out at the time, but other times I could've been killed! I was violently attacked by electric cables, I was stranded in the elevator and then a crazy teacher possessed my body so he could have a long conversation with them! Don't you understand what I'm trying to say?!"
He simply narrows his eyes.
"No, not the infirmary!" Sissi protests as her father is dragging her away in the courtyard. "Let me go! You have to go to the factory."
Jim and Nicolas watch this. "Huh. Looks like that poor kid Sissi really is off her rocker. I apologize Poliakoff."
Nicolas just smiles in relief.
Ulrich approaches Yumi at a bench. "Where'd you run off to? Where are the others?" Yumi asks.
"At the factory. Jeremy's gotta launch a return to the past. The last one…" Ulrich replies.
"How about you Ulrich? Still against shutting down the supercomputer?"
"Well, I honestly don't know…"
"Oh yes you do."
Yumi lands near Ulrich in sector 5.
They run side by side together in the ice sector. They separated and she slides, holding her feet up. He lands on them and she gives him a boost.
Yumi is left dangling above the digital sea until she falls. Ulrich grabs her hand. She smiles up at him.
A scanner opens and Ulrich steps out, free form Xana's control, shocking both Yumi and William. Ulrich smiles at them. Tears come out of Yumi's eyes.
"Ulrich! You're finally back!" Yumi yells hugging him.
"I'm sorry for everything I did wrong" Yumi tells Ulrich in her room.
"How are you gonna make it up to me?" Ulrich asks.
"Like this."
She pulls his lips to hers and pulls him into a kiss.
"It's been so great…I just don't want it to end. Plus, I want to prove myself" Ulrich frowns in memory.
"You don't have to prove anything. No matter what, you'll always be our friend. There'll be plenty of other good times, even without Lyoko" Yumi grabs his hand.
"Promise?" Ulrich smiles.
"I swear."
The two leaned in towards each other, about to kiss on Lyoko.
Everyone else is at the factory, for the final return to the past.
"So, this is it?" William says to Aelita.
"I guess it is" Aelita replies.
"Are you ready?"
"For what?"
"To let go of the past. Your whole life revolved around this basically."
"My past is just that: the past. I never lived a normal life, and now I get the chance, I'm not going to pass it up."
"Probably the same for me. Forget about the past and shine forth to the future."
"But never forgetting us, right?"
Ulrich throws his saber at Aelita, which William blocks and then devirtualizes Ulrich.
Aelita is flying through the air from an explosion.
"Got ya!" William states as he grabs her hand.
"Hey sis, I also got this from my parents, and I think you should have it" William says, handing her the photo.
"But what about you?"
"I can always make copies."
"Thank you! It's wonderful!" Aelita says, hugging him, nearly crying.
Aelita hands a wrapped present to him. He unwraps it and is shocked.
"You…you got me a copy?!"
Aelita nods. "We're family, and you've done too much for me already. So, I thought it was time I did something nice for you."
"Thanks sis" William says embracing her in a hug. If she wasn't committed to Jeremy, or related, he would have also kissed her.
William begins to walk away, when Aelita quickly grabs his arm, spins him around and kisses him.
"What was that for?" William asks surprised.
"Just an extra thank you" Aelita replies.
Aelita fires an energy field at William's sword. He releases a pink beam at Ulrich devirtualizing him.
"Never" William responds hugging her.
"Return to the past now" Jeremy taps a button.
Yumi and Ulrich share a kiss as the bubble engulfs them.
The group is in the cafeteria again, the mood much happier than last time. Sissi approaches the table.
"Hey lame-o's what's up?"
"You want my croissant Sissi?" Odd smiles as he holds it up.
"I'd rather kiss your dog! Ulrich honey. How's it going-" She reaches out to touch his shoulder, but he stops her.
"First, I'm not and never will be your 'Ulrich honey' and second, better without your GPS locator."
"What are you talking about?"
"Sissi, cut it out. We don't have any secrets. And if you wanna stay friends with us, just stop trying to mess us up."
"You mean…we're really friends?"
"Why, sure" Jeremy agrees with Ulrich.
"Yeah, school would be so boring without you" Odd comments, causing her to smile.
"Oh, well…see you later good buddies!" She turns to Nicolas and Herb. "As for you, don't let me catch either of you two dorks trying to mess my friends up!" She storms off and passes by Yumi and William. "Hi Yumi, hi William, nice to see you both." The two look to each other.
"Well, are you guys ready?" Yumi asks everyone.
"Yup!" Odd responds.
"Mmhm." Ulrich says next.
"And now, who's in favor of shutting down the supercomputer?" Jeremy asks. Everyone raises their hand.
Jeremy turns around ready to do it and soon everyone puts a hand on it.
"Let's do it together" William says.
They all pull the lever. The supercomputer lowers and the Xana symbol doors close.
They emerge into the park. "Well, if isn't the fantastic six," Jim comes in out of nowhere. "What kind of trouble are you up to now?"
"Oh, nothing at all. We just closed the book on an unforgettable adventure filled life of heroism and danger" Odd states to him.
"Yeah, hmm. Well, we've all been there Della Robbia. You know, one fine day, I also gave up my teenage dreams to become an adult."
"No kidding, you're actually an adult?" Odd jokes, looking away.
"I'd rather not talk about it."
There was one more thing William and Aelita had to take care of.
The two met up with their father at the train station.
"So, it's all over?" Franz asks.
"Yeah, the supercomputer is shut down, for good this time" Aelita responds.
"So, where are you off too?" William asks.
"Somewhere. As far as I'm concerned, I'm dead. So, I need a new identity and a new life. I'll visit you. We'll see each other again. I'm sure my son has some catching up to do with me and his sister" Franz says to the two. They just smile in response.
Franz waves to them one last time and he boards.
Life for the Lyoko Warriors improved after Xana's defeat. Jeremy began spending more time with Aelita and got a normal sleep schedule. Ulrich went from an F student to a B student. It wasn't what his father wanted but was enough to get him off his back. He tutored with Jeremy and Aelita, and with Yumi on some occasions. Their relationship has greatly improved. Odd remained single and lived a bachelor lifestyle. He hopes to find Mrs. Right, but he wants to graduate first. William also remained single too. He would look after he graduated. He spent most of his free time With Aelita and occasionally they would call Franz. Aelita remained as mediator of the group. The one thing that she'll never lose is being the guardian of Lyoko.
Yumi gives a salute with two fingers. Ulrich as well.
"So long!" Odd winks and Aelita smiles with her brother next to her.
Jeremy and Franz smile in the lab.
They all look into the sky. Yumi and Ulrich holding hands. Aelita and William have an arm around each other. Odd just sits down. The closed case of the supercomputer slows as the adventure of the Lyoko Warriors closes, and their future opens up.
A.N. – And thus the adventure ends. Some closing thoughts, I hope you like the memories I choose for specific characters. I think Jeremy overdramatized his diary a little bit too much.
