I just want to write interesting stories with little payoff. XD

It had been a long time since Royal Woods was changed forever.

The ability to manipulate bad or good luck, people gaining cat or squirrel traits depending on which luck they manipulated, people discovering magic and curses was real because of that, it was utter chaos!

At least only Royal Woods was affected. Maybe. Hopefully.

But this didn't matter to one Lincoln Loud, who flew with his squirrel wings as he searched the environment for someone.

Which he found once he arrived at the top of a familiar school. So he dived and landed right near her… And nearly slipping on a banana peel when he did.

"Seriously, Lynn?"

"I didn't put that there."

The guy faced the person he was looking for: a brunette with the same black cat ears and tail as the bad luck people, a red ribbon tied on her tail in addition.

This was Lynn Loud, one of his older sisters.

"You're the one who did it, aren't you?"

And the one he didn't like at all.

Lynn hummed as she turned back to her brother and sighed:

"If you're asking what I think you're asking… then yeah, I did it."

Back before chaos ensued, Lynn stayed awake in her bed, taking a deep breath while trying, and failing, to fall back to sleep.

She eventually decided enough was enough, and she turned to the library in her and Lucy's bedroom. She made sure to sneak so Lucy wouldn't awaken, and inspected the books in the library… until she found what she was looking for.

A book about self-inflicted curses.

"Why would you do something so colossally stupid?!" Lincoln chided. "Did you really think that cursing Royal Woods with this would convince me to forgive you!?"

"The only one that was supposed to be cursed was me, okay? The curse spreading to all of Royal Woods was an unfortunate mishap," Lynn explained, pocketing her hands as she did. "And really, did you expect anything less? Lucy's the one who knows her magic, and she wouldn't talk to me after the squirrel incident."

Lincoln winced at the reminder of that horrible day, clenching his fists as Lynn continued:

"Anyway, I didn't ask you to come here to fall into the same hypocritical, self-indulgent speech about how I should've been better and you wouldn't do it, all while claiming to be the better person," Lynn smiled sneakily. "I'm here to propose to you something to prove you actually are a better person."

Lincoln raised an eyebrow. "And that is?"

Lynn took out a crumpled piece of paper and smirked.

"A cure for the curse."

Lincoln ran to Lynn, but the cat-like athlete manipulated the banana to cause her brother to slip, the guy manipulating the same banana shortly after to make him bounce high enough to spread his wings and land back safely on the ground.

"The cure requires both of us, Lincoln," Lynn explained. "The one who casted the curse, and the one that was in the mind of the caster."

Lincoln took a deep breath. "Oh lord, it's like one of those cliched plots."

"We live in a cliche world, Lincoln," Lynn shrugged with a smile. "Can't really help it."

The boy walked closer to Lynn, furrowing his brow as he did.

"I'm not entirely happy with this, but if I have to do this in order to clean up your mess like I usually do-"

Suddenly, Lynn grabbed the squirrel boy by the neck of his shirt and pulled him towards her.

"I said I didn't ask you to come here for another self-indulgent speech. I did it so we could find a way to undo this curse, together. That means working towards a common goal, and not fall into the same bickering that caused our family to collapse."

Then, she pushed him back, and extended her hand.

"So, do we have a deal?"

The boy looked at the hand, then at Lynn's little grin, and seeing no other way out of this, he shook her hand.

"Deal."
