A/N The list of baby names that appear in this chapter, except for two, are names for Lenny babies from stories I've read here at fan fic. What I've done is taken the names from authors and stories I've liked, and I am using those names as a way of honoring those authors, and the stories, I've enjoyed.

Chapter 58

Sunday 19 April, 10:30 AM

Leonard was paying the check for their brunch at Marston's, while Penny waited outside, by the car. They were next going to the farmer's market, to get their fruits and vegetables for the week. Remembering Penny's last time there, they were not planning on looking around at the knick-knacks today, trying to keep Penny from tiring out. The plan was to get their things and get home. They spent an hour, with a short break for Penny, buying the things that they wanted, and since it was just after one, Leonard bought each of them an ice cream cone. They sat and finished that before heading home.

As they entered the door of the apartment building, Sheldon and Amy came out of the elevator. All four stopped for a few seconds, looking at each other awkwardly before Sheldon walked out the door. Amy looked at Leonard and Penny, and said, "Hi," softly before also going out the door.

Leonard and Penny looked at each other and he said, "Do you think things will ever be back to normal?"

"What's normal, with Sheldon?" said Penny. "No, I shouldn't say that. I don't know Leonard, We'll have to wait and see."

They entered the elevator on their way to their apartment.

Sunday 19 April, 3:00 PM

Leonard was working on his experiment upgrade plans when Penny came over and kissed him on the cheek.

He turned to her and said, "What's up?"

"Well, we have to start talking about some names," said Penny. "At least that's what you told me last week."

"Oh yeah," said Leonard. "I'm sorry, I was so involved with my planning I forgot. Let me shut this off, get my list, and I'll meet you at the couch."

While Leonard was shutting his computer down, Penny walked over and got two bottles of water, bringing them over to the table in front of the couch. Leonard walked over and sat down next to Penny. She had also brought a pen and paper over, so they could write everything down.

Leonard pulled a piece of paper out of his pocket and put it on the table. Penny looked at it and saw:

Matisse

Riley

Jessica

Samantha

Savannah

She shook her head, "Figures, you put it in alphabetical order, didn't you?"

Leonard grinned.

"Well, I didn't put my list in any kind of an order," said Penny, putting a piece of paper down on the table.

Looking at it, Leonard saw the names:

Madelyn

Grace

Annikka

Savannah

Isabel

"It appears we both like Savannah," asked Penny. "So, how are we going to do this,"

"I don't know," said Leonard. "Are there any names you feel particularly strong about?"

"Well, actually, all of them," said Penny.

"Why?"

"Well, for example, one of them was my great-aunt," said Penny. "She came to this country as a young girl, and she was pretty wild in her youth. She said I reminded her a lot of herself. When I told everyone I was coming out here, she's the one that bought me my red Volkswagen. She said I had to have a car in LA. She died a few years ago, but I would still like to honor her."

Leonard was nodding, "Sound like my feelings toward one of mine. She was my uncle Floyd's wife and you know how much I like my uncle Floyd. She was never quite the same after he died, but I'd get letters from her and she continued to encourage me. I will always think of their place as somewhere I could go when it got to be too much for me at my house. She died, a few years ago, but I'd like to use the name. I have stories for a couple of others."

"There's a couple of more like that for me, too," said Penny. "Do you want to talk about the others?"

"Yeah, let's go over all of them," said Leonard.

And so, for the next hour, they talked about the reasons for picking and how strongly they felt about each of the names. They also talked about possibly having similar sounding names because of having twins and finally, they decided to take all the names, narrow it down to two names each, instead of the three they originally thought about, and they would pick the names next Sunday.

With that decided, Penny told Leonard he would be cooking tonight and wanted to know what he was making. Leonard smiled, shook his head, and left for the kitchen to figure out what he would be making for dinner.

Monday 20 April, 10:00 PM

Penny was working on getting the forecast out, she had to be finished by noon, as she had her Doctor's appointment at 1:00 PM. But, she was craving a bear claw, but trying to ignore that craving, by concentrating on getting the numbers input into the spreadsheet. She had just finished filling in the spreadsheet and had started to analyze the numbers when her cell phone rang.

Accepting the call, she said, "Hello."

"Is this Penny Hofstadter?"

"Yes, it is."

"Hi, this is Dr. Samuels office and we need to reschedule this afternoon's appointment."

"That's fine," said Penny. "Can I ask why?"

"Well, another patient of Dr. Samuels went into labor, and Dr. Samuels will not be able to make it to your appointment. The woman who went into labor had an appointment for tomorrow, at one. Since you usually have yours at one, we thought that would be best for you."

Penny thought for a bit, then said, "That will be fine."

"Okay, I'll tell Dr. Samuels, thank you so much."

"Goodbye," said Penny, who then disconnected. She looked at her screen, "I guess I don't have to rush this." Her thoughts turned back to the bear claw, and she surrendered; getting up and heading for the company cafeteria.

Monday 20 April, 2:00 PM

Leonard had planned on spending the morning working in the lab, helping the three people who were making his changes to the experiment. It was mostly changing out circut boards and rerouting some wiring, so he was simply watching. Wow, these guys are really good with a soldering gun, not to mention they can pull and re-insert the wires in different pins really fast.

There was no reason for him to be here, after all, he hadn't planned on being here this afternoon. Penny had her appointment scheduled, but she had called, telling him they had moved it to tomorrow. Penny also told Leonard she had talked to Dan, and he suggested she take tomorrow off. With two appointments, her dental appointment in the morning, and her doctor's in the afternoon, he told her she could spend the extra time not worrying about going back and forth to work. Hopefully, the time off would take some stress off of her.

So, with nothing to do, he told them to call him if there was a problem and he went back to his office. There, he found a voice message from Patsy, and he called her.

"Hello, Morgan and Stevens Realty," said Patsy. "This is Patsy Morgan, how can I help you?"

"Hi Patsy, this is Leonard," said Leonard. "What's up?"

"Oh hi, we have a solution to Mr. Ash paying me for my services."

"That's great, what is it," asked Leonard.

He heard Patsy chuckle, "Well, instead of his paying me my $30,000 from his cut of the profits from the sale, he's agreed to cut the price by $50,000, and have you pay me."

Leonard was thinking, "But, but…ahhhhh, I don't understand."

Again Patsy chuckled, "I think he's looking at the fact the realtor fee would be $60,000, thirty for him, thirty for me. So, after those fees, he would get $940,000, but 30 of that 60 is his, so he would actually get $970,000. He may be thinking that by cutting the price by $50,000, he's getting an extra $10,000."

She again chuckled, "He'll be getting $950,000 and you'll be paying $980,000, when you pay me, so you saved $20,000 on the house and he's getting $20,000 less. One reason you should never sell your house on your own. But, that's his problem, I'm obligated to correct your errors, not his. I sent the amended paperwork to him, and he sent it back to me, so it's official."

Leonard smiled, "So, where do we put the extra $20,000?"

"We'll keep that as an extra fund, to pay for any last-minute fees or expenses," said Patsy. "We'll have all the amounts written up, and if we find something that you have to pay, we'll use that money. Anything that's left, will be returned to you in a check. You can pay down your mortgage, or put it back into your retirement funds, or in your savings, or…or buy furniture, it's up to you."

"Okay, thanks Patsy," said Leonard. "Anything else?"

"Well, I'll need you both to come down and sign the amended paperwork, so if you want to come by after work that would be great. The house inspection is tomorrow, as is the property value assessment and I'll let you know, unofficially on Wednesday, how those both go. By Wednesday, all we should have left is for them to do is the final write-up for the two inspections and the title search. Once that's done, we can set up closing."

"Damn, this has gone fast," said Leonard.

"Part of that is because you got your financing before looking for a house, and part of that is we have a very good team of dedicate people who are very good at doing the inspections and other things."

"Well, we're hoping to move in before Penny gets to the point where she won't be able to do a lot of things," said Leonard.

"When is she due?" asked Patsy.

"The middle of July," said Leonard. "If she carries to the full term of 40 weeks."

"Well, I think we can get this finished up by the beginning of May, and you can move in then," said Patsy.

"That would be perfect," said Leonard.

"Okay, then, I'll see you tonight," said Patsy. "Bye."

"Goodbye," said Leonard, and they both disconnected.

Monday 20 April, 8:00 PM

They had been discussing ways to get Sheldon to accept their moving since they had gotten home, and now, there was a knock on the door. They waited, and when they didn't hear the second or third knock, Leonard got up and answered it. Amy and Sheldon were there. Leonard was puzzled but asked them in. Sheldon sat in his spot, and Amy sat next to him. Leonard sat in his chair, with Penny sitting on the arm.

Looking at them, Leonard said, "So, what's going on. You guys don't normally knock, and if you do, it's his weird three knock thing."

Sheldon looked uncomfortable but finally answered, "Leonard, Penny, I want to apologize for not being very supportive and being upset by your plan to move. Amy tells me you were not being selfish…"

"Sheldon," said Amy.

"What?" said Sheldon, "That's what I thought, but after talking to Amy about it, I now realize that you are looking into what is best for your babies, and the two of you. I can't be upset by that, because I would want what's best for my babies. You are doing the things that are best for your babies, which you should be doing."

Leonard and Penny looked at each other, then looked at Amy, who had a slight smile, and nodded to them.

Leonard took the cue and said, "Thank you, Sheldon. I want you to know, that we were upset that you were upset, and leaving has us upset also."

"And, why is that, Leonard?" said Sheldon.

"Sheldon, we've been effectively roommates for fifteen years. Yes, I know you moved in with Amy, but you come into our apartment, and we go into yours. I have a lot of memories with you, in this place, so, yeah, I'm going to miss you."

Sheldon considered that for a few seconds then nodded and said, "I guess I didn't think of what kind of effect it may have on you. I'm going to miss you."

"Also, we have a couple of things we want to talk to you about," said Leonard.

"What are those things?"

"First off, we'd like you and Amy to take over our lease," said Leonard.

"But, Leonard, then we would be paying for two apartments," said Sheldon.

"We don't mean for you to do that," said Leonard. "Penny and I have discussed this, and you take overpayment on this apartment, and Penny and I will pay for 4B, at least until we find someone to take over the lease and move in."

Sheldon continued to look at them, and said, "You may not be able to, there are only two months left on the lease, but go on."

"We understand that, but if the lease runs out, then we don't have to worry about it, anyway," said Leonard. "And, we will take the two desks," pointing at the desks on each side of the TV, along with everything in my room.

This time Sheldon just said, "Okay."

"Finally, we will leave the couch, chair, coffee table, basically all the furniture in the living room area, so you will have your spot," said Leonard.

A smile crept across his face, and Sheldon nodded.

Leonard smiled too, "Does this mean we are all good, now?"

"Yes, we are," said Sheldon. "As I said, Amy told me you weren't happy about it either, although I really didn't believe her. But, giving me the couch and the apartment, along with paying the rent on the other, makes me understand that you are trying to make me happy. So, again, I'm sorry I was so upset."

Penny and Amy walked over to the island, where Penny said, "You've been working on him, haven't you?"

"Yes, I have," said Amy. "But, those gestures of yours were very kind and very helpful."

"We thought that those things would make it easier for him to accept it," said Penny. "I thought you understood, and it seems you did, so thank you for helping."

"I'm still a little ambivalent about it," said Amy. "I've never had a friend like you before and I'm going to miss you."

"And, I'm going to miss you," said Penny. "You do realize that we really are upset and are both going to miss this place, right?"

"What?"

"Amy, I met Leonard and Sheldon on my first day here," said Penny. "Leonard and I had our first kiss here, I told him I loved him for the first time, just on the other side of that door. We slept together for the first time and we got engaged across the hall. I have a lot of really good memories in these two apartments, I'm going to miss them."

"I didn't think of it like that," said Amy. "Have you found a house yet?"

Penny was guarded, "We think we have, but we're waiting for some word back. We don't want to say anything until we get everything finalized" Then she changed the subject, by saying, "You know after we move, you can call me anytime to talk, and you can come over just like you come over here. And, we'll still see each other on Wednesday…oh, shit, I forgot, Leonard?"

Leonard turned toward Penny with a quizzical look.

"You want to tell them about the extra night?"

"Oh, yeah, thanks Penny," said Leonard. "Sheldon, Amy we want to set up a night, sometime during the week, where we get together. Penny and I thought about Sunday night, but if that doesn't work for you, we can talk about it. I do understand your concern about not getting together. But if just us four get together one day a week, along with Wednesdays, I thought that might assuage your concerns about not seeing each other."

Sheldon and Amy shared a look, and Amy said, "Leonard, Penny, that's very kind of you, and thank you so much for thinking about this."

"So, is it settled, then?" asked Penny. "You take over this apartment, we take over 4B, and will search for a sublease, for the two months left and you get all the living room furniture, except for the desks. We'll take everything I had in 4B, and Amy, you can move your stuff that is in storage, here. Then, we set up one night a week, where you come over to our house, or we come here, probably alternate."

Both Amy and Sheldon smiled and nodded.

Amy said, "As long as you give us some time. It still may take a bit longer to get completely over it."

Leonard and Penny nodded.

"Oh, goody, we have an agreement," said Sheldon. "Do you want me to write a moving agreement?"
