A/N: Again, wanted to thank everyone for the comments and feedback. Glad you like where my headspace was and is for this as its still not finished, but I do have a lot already done, just need to go through before posting.

We will be introducing new characters coming up, well new to Chuck, maybe borrowed from other shows might be more accurate.

Again, many thanks to Steelejay for his beta and advice. As someone who hasn't really written stories like this a long time, his help has been invaluable.

Please keep the comments/feedback coming, it is appreciated.

I Do not own Chuck

Chapter 5

Black Rock – April 20, 2009

Chuck arrived at the abandoned drive-in in a truck he 'borrowed' from the airport. With skills

imbedded in his dad's intersect update, hotwiring a car was child's play. With the information in his intersect, combined with the Fulcrum Intersect from Meadow Branch, he knew exactly how to get into the underground facility undetected. As he made his way through, he tranqed several Fulcrum agents. He didn't want to use the MP7 slinged to his chest but would if he had to. He came to a hallway, at the end of which he heard voices and saw several guards. The voices were those of his father and Ted Roark. Roark was demanding the updated Intersect Cube be ready in a few short hours and Steven was trying to delay, saying more testing was needed.

Knowing where his father was, Chuck moved around and found the main gas line for the facility. Using the intersect he set the C4 charge, in case they needed a big distraction, then moved his way back toward the end of the hall where his father was. While he was planting the C4, more guards had joined the others, and he counted 6 outside the room. He knew there were 1 or 2 additional guards in the room with Roark and his father.

He got as close as he could without being seen, and threw one of the flash -bangs, momentarily stunning the guards, then stepped up, and with a gun in each hand, tranqed all 6 of them. He moved inside the door and dispatched the , 2 remaining guards with a series of krav-maga maneuvers. He turned to face Roark who was holding his father, using him as a human shield with a 9-millimeter to his head. Chuck withdrew the sig p229 from his hip and pointed it at them.

'"Well, well, well. The prodigal son returns. Good to see you, Charles., Saves me the hassle of trying to hunt you down and kill you'.

Chuck, holding the sig with both hands extended in a modified Weaver stance, was calm and cool as, he flashed on precision shooting, and breathing techniques. The update in the intersect allowed Chuck to see and use the more logical side of his brain. While he still didn't want to hurt people, he knew he might have to. He needed to be prepared to kill to keep him and his family safe.

"'It's over Roark, put the gun down and let my father go."'

'"Oh Chucky, Chucky, Chucky. Do you really think you have a chance? This is the final piece in my master plan. Hundreds of Intersect agents, and nothing you or the CIA or NSA can do about it. You'll be begging me to clean the world up."'

Steven spoke up, "'Ted, what are you doing? You stole my designs and got rich, now you want to rule the world?"'

Roark laughed., "'Actually Steven, that's exactly what I want to do. Once I have my intersect agents up and running, I can do away with you Bartowski's., You're nothing but a pain in my ass. First, I will take care of you and your son, then just for good measure, I will take care of your daughter, she's getting married soon isn't she?"'

When Roark threatened Ellie, that was it for Chuck. He knew he had to take Roark out to protect his family.

Using the intersect shooting skill, he sighted and fired, the bullet tore through Ted Roark's right eye with blood and grey matter exploding out the back of his head. His body crumpled to the floor, the gun clacking at his feet.

Steven was crushed for his son, never wanting him to have to do something like this, but he knew it was necessary this to keep Ellie safe.

Chuck recovered and urged his dad that they had to go.

"Hold on Charles, we need to get the Intersect cube and a couple of other things to complete and we can go."

They copied and then wiped all the drives clean so, no one would be able to retrieve any information from the servers. They made their way back to the airport and went to the hangar that contained Roark's Cessna Citation X, one of the fastest private jets available, holding up to 7 passengers. Chuck flashed on it and was ready to get them off the ground and begin their life on the run. Before they left, he went back to the NSA jet and stripped it of any useful weapons, computers, or medical gear they might be able to use. Not sure what the next step would be or what they would do, he wanted to be prepared.

What Chuck didn't know was while his dad had been working on the Intersect cube, he had also been draining some of Roark's accounts. As the man was worth somewhere in the $16 billion dollar range, Steven had located and siphoned off a little over $2 billion into various accounts. Since Roark had made most of his money off of designs and patterns he stole from Steven, he figured it was restitution.

As the Citation was loaded up, Chuck began going through the preflight and soon they were airborne. He wasn't completely sure where they were headed, but a plan was forming on what he would do next.
