4. A Note from Silya: Rewrite Overdue

Hi, everyone! First, a quick thank you to those who've checked the chapters I have up of this story and for your patience with it. I know there isn't much here yet, but honestly, the more time I sat down trying to figure out the next chapter and the direction I want the story to move going forward, the more I felt I needed to adjust the beginning. Initially, I wanted to experiment with Dark Origins as a visual novel fangame, with the player first exploring Ferris' character and hometown through different interactions. The way this story began follows the set-up I had planned for that, but isn't working since it dances around choices that the player would normally make. Reviewing the first chapter, some bits also just feel a bit awkward and clunky, with more explanation of the world than actively showing it. I'd like to take slightly different turn with things, and so I'll be rewriting the first few chapters. Hopefully, when I do give this a proper update, I can give you all a big, more polished chunk of story to enjoy.
