With a large frown Trixie starred up at Lucifer, her arms still firmly wrapped around his middle. "Does that even count? You are no priest! And what's with Maze?"

"You really are hard to satisfy, Urchin." Usually he would enjoy her hard negotiations, but today he had been renounced and was bored. He just wanted to leave this place. Lucky him, the priest arrived together with Dan, closely followed by his Detective. The Devil ignored the two hisses of his name and eyed his Father's minion with a forced smile. "Ah Father, would you be so kind and sprinkle some rancid water onto this child, me and the demon over there?" He pointed onto the approaching Mazikeen. "A baptism by yours truly is obviously not satisfactory." He eyed the priest expectantly, as did the still clutching girl. "The quicker you do this the faster we can finally leave this place so you can go back to sing praises to my Old Man."

Father Steve had a strange feeling the closer he stepped to the man and the young girl. He just kept staring at him.

At the lack of reaction of the priest, Lucifer remembered that his brother hadn't introduced him – as the only one. It wasn't that Lucifer was miffed about it, but maybe he should make good for it. "I think we didn't have the pleasure before, Father. I'm Lucifer Morningstar." Ignoring the glares and groans from Dan and his hissed name by his partner, he continued with a large smile and a mischievous twinkle in his eyes. "The Devil."

"D-devil?"

Lucifer's wicked grin widened. "Yes, Father. Also known as Satan, Beelzebub, Prince of Lies, The Adversary, The Great Beast and my all time favorite, Old Scratch." There came a little "Huh?" from his waist and he lowered his gaze down to the still clinging little parasite. "Those are just names my Father's zealots made up, Urchin." When he looked back at the priest, the man had turned quite pale. 'Great, one of those…'

"Oh God! He really is here!" Father Steve lifted his crucifix up towards Satan. "Let go of that child!"

"Seriously?!" He wouldn't roll his eyes, especially not in front of one of his Father's servants. "Isn't like I wouldn't want her off of me, but the Spawn is the one not letting go!" The other man clutched his crucifix all the harder, his knuckles turning white, "Seems like you are one of those Arnie's End of Days-fans." Lifting his gaze towards the church's ornamented ceiling, Lucifer said with exasperation. "Dad, why did you have to take Father Frank to you? He was the only bearable of your henchmen."

"Leave that innocent child alone, you monster!" He reached out his own hand towards one of Trixie's, but the girl suddenly let go of Lucifer only to hide behind his body, the priest's hostile behavior made her uneasy. "Come to me, child. I will protect you."

With a determined frown etched onto his features Lucifer took a step in front of Trixie, shielding her from the zealot. "Your profession's reputation is in this aspect so much worse than mine could ever be. And that's based solely on facts." A shit eating smirk spread over his lips. "But please don't worry, we even established a special zone only for you grabbie hypocrites down there. You see the Devil doesn't renounce your kind."

Not really listening to the creature's words, Father Steve only had eyes for the Great Beast in front of him. When Satan had stepped away from the Holy Water, the priest took his chance and lunched with lightening speed forward, dipping his hand not holding his crucifix into the small basin and throwing an entire palm full of water into the Lord of Hell's face.

"Ewww!" Disgusted by the water on his skin and in his magnificent hair, Lucifer just starred at the priest outraged, looking for words to make him cringe and go back to his rightful place, when his girlfriend's hands wrapped themselves around his biceps firmly. A faint red began to flare up in his eyes, when Chloe dragged the Devil trough the large door – luckily he and Trixie had stood in front of. He tried to struggle free, but the blonde made him face her in front of the church, his eyes already burning red like Hellfire. "How dare he?!"

Chloe held him by the shoulders, her resolved eyes digging into her boyfriend's red gaze. "He isn't worth it!" She could see the fight within himself and their staring contest went on until he conceded with a grumbling, his eyes fading back to their natural deep brown color. Just in time when the door opened again and Linda carrying Charlie emerged, closely followed by Dan pulling a confused and a little scared Trixie after him with Ella on their heels, when the priest went over to a second attack – his new target the hysterically laughing Godmother. The only one amused about the entire affair.

Worried Trixie was looking back onto the scene, her best friend's name on her lips. "Go back to Hell, demon!" The priest dunked his hand into the basin once again and splashed a palm full of Holy Water at Maze.

The hilarity stuck in Maze's throat about the audacity when the water hit her straight into the face – luckily her make-up was water proof. "That's what I want for crying out loud!" Wiping the wetness from her cheeks she took a step closer to the human male, but her approach was intercepted by Amenadiel's large form, stepping in her way.

The angel grabbed the still terrified priest by the hand, shaking it firmly with a large smile on his face, breaking the startled man's glare from his new target. "A wonderful ceremony, Father. But we better go now."

Torn between dread and panic and the warming feeling welling up within him every time he laid eyes onto the large dark man, he just watched him and the demon leave his church.

"Wow, that reaction was crass!" Ella exclaimed and hugged her buddy the method actor, who was still agitated about the entire thing.

At once Lucifer stiffened in her embrace. "I'm sure the Vatican has End of Days as their number one educational video. I'm a big Arnie fan, but that movie was a catastrophe."

"I know from the Devil's perspective it isn't a good movie." Her statement startled him for a split second before he remembered that the forensic scientist held the rare opinion that the Devil's rep sheet was exaggerated and doing him wrong. A warmth unfolded in his chest and his one hand, not in the fierce grasp of an eleven year old, sank slowly down to pat the small woman onto her back tentatively.

Dan was a bit worried as was Chloe about the incident and its repercussions on their daughter, who still grasped tightly their Devil's hand. Slowly he approached them and gave his ex-wife a nod in silent message that he would take care of Trixie. Gently he took her other hand and as she looked up at him and met his eyes, he stopped in his pace and crouched down in front of her as she let finally go of her friend. "Hey, everything ok, Monkey?" A frown spread over her face, but she remained quiet. "I know that was a bit scary."

"That priest was weird, but…" Trixie worried her lower lip and looked over to her two best friends going with the rest of their group towards the restaurant, her mother had taken her place at Lucifer's hand.

"But?" Daniel urged gently.

The girl faced her father and locked eyes with him. "Lucifer and Maze are okay?"

A smile spread over the detective's lips about his compassionate daughter. "Yes, they are fine, just a little angry about Father Steve's reaction."

"But the Holy Water? Shouldn't that hurt them?" Trixie's world was turned upside down in these few minutes. Wouldn't Holy Water hurt them if they would be the Devil and a demon? That's what happens in TV. But if they weren't what they claimed to be, then why did the priest react the way he did? Was the TV wrong? Was Lucifer really the Devil?

"Oh boy…" Daniel looked quickly down to the ground to gather his thoughts. "Monkey, Lucifer isn't the Devil."

"But he never lies!"

"Yes, but if he truly believes that he is the Devil although he isn't, then it doesn't count as lie for him." He saw this information sink in. "I know you really like him, but he is a very confused person."

"But Maze said that she is a demon."

"Maze is just playing along, because she is bored and thinks it funny." He saw her doubt in her impressive brown eyes. "Sometimes it's easier for everyone to play along so they won't hurt that person they care for." A frown crept onto Trixie's forehead and he tried to explain it differently. "Lucifer really believes that he is the Devil. That belief makes him who he is. So if we would take that away from him and tell him the reality, then there would be nothing left for him and he would hurt a lot. That's why his brother has asked Linda and me to play along and don't renounce the Devil." It finally dawned on Daniel, why Amenadiel, Linda and even Chloe seemed to play along with the man's delusions.

"To protect Lucifer?" Came Trixie's little voice, acceptance laced within it.

"Yes."

"And did that priest also play along?"

This was a valid question and Dan looked sky-wards briefly. "Maybe Maze had asked him to play along as a payback for Lucifer." Yes that sounded like a reasonable explanation. "She is still pretty pissed about his Florida-trip."
