Chapter 4

A/N: This takes place about two years after the past chapter and thus around the time after Season 6 Ending! = SPOILER warning!

This is also canon/ a prequel to my story "Audience with the Devil".

A/N: Big thanks for the followers and especially the reviews, kimberlychytil, SPCLjmm, AUfan62 and mendenbar!

I also think that Trixie always or at least a big part of her believed Lucifer to be the Devil, but I actually had intended this to be a sequel to my season 6 fanfiction with a twist on Trixie having a believing-crises, before season 6 was released and thus I dropt that fanfic.

But I think it would also work anyway. (I always thought Trixie would believe, until the scene with God, where she is surprised that he had never been a child. Here I got a little doubt myself (and also at her believing the lie about Florida), but maybe this statement of God made Trixie believe (again). ).

Timeline after my internet research:

Trixie's official birthday is March 1st 2008

Charlie's official birthday is March 25th 2019

Rory's birthday April (7th ?) 2021

It must be 2021 and not 2022 (like on some sites), because Dan died on January 30th 2020 (they also repeatedly said that Trixie was only 11 here); Between S5B end and start S6 was 1 month. Season 6 is only about 4 weeks/1 months. Which would make Lucifer's disappearance to be rather April 4th 2020 and not August 4th 2020, but they wanted to stick Trixie into the summer camp, so they somehow made a skip up to August 2020. 2021 is also verified with Charlie celebrating his 2nd birthday shortly before Rory's birth.

In this chapter Trixie does know with proof that everything is true (I'll write a 'revelation'-Fic later)

End of May 2021

It was a cloudless late spring day and the warm rays of the sun fell through the beautiful colorful windows of the little church, Amenadiel had found for this occasion. He knew that the reason for Chloe to baptize both her daughters had nothing to do to see to their souls' salvation in afterlife or to show him, as their new God, that she would raise them to be believers. Because both girls were already and would forever be. Neither would he want his little niece to worship him – well not as God, but as her coolest uncle would be nice.

This ceremony was a piece to the Time Loop. To fulfill the part that made Maze and Eve Rory's aunts. Some sentiment, he knew his brother would approve of. As he hoped his little brother would also agree to the priest he had found to baptize the Devil's daughter.

Father Philipp was a gentle soul himself, who had seen enough hardship in his own life to know that life could not be divided in black or white and that the grey hues could be good or bad dependent on the circumstances. He had been immediately accepting when Amenadiel had explained to him that renouncing the Devil would only bring strife to his family, especially now since his brother's absence left a huge gap in the lives of his family and loved ones.

Now God sat next to Linda, Ella and Carol, Dan's parents and Penelope Decker in the wooden pew, Charlie on his lap, and watched with a gentle smile the baptism of the two Decker girls. Praying to himself all the while that his son would keep his wings tucked away. The toddler didn't seem to notice most of the time when he unfurled his feathery appendages.

Next to the baptismal font stood on one side Chloe, holding her a few weeks old daughter clad in a white dress, while her thirteen year old daughter stood next to her in a beautiful with laces adored white dress, white artificial flowers graced her dark braided hair. On the other side stood Maze and Eve, both smiling and proud to be Godparents of the Decker offspring.

Trixie listened carefully to the words of the priest for her entry, after all she was old enough to say her part in this ceremony. With a deepening frown, she watched as Eve and Maze renewed their faith in God – both sending a smile or in Maze's case a smirk in Amenadiel's direction, before Father Philipp settled his eyes on her and repeated the words for her to say. "Sure, I believe in God and also his little brother Jesus." This statement brought a baffled frown to the priest, which Trixie ignored. "Shouldn't now be the part to renounce the Devil?"

Father Philipp smiled down at the girl good-natured. "I was asked to skip this part, child."

Trixie rolled her eyes. Of course would her family want to circumvent the rejection of the Devil. "Well, I do want to renounce Lucifer for him obviously renouncing my mother, my sister and me." Her resolved glare turned towards the floor in the off-chance that Amenadiel had lied and he was indeed hiding in Hell. "You hear!"

"Oh boy." Linda muttered under her breath, while Ella buried her face in both her hands with a shake of her head. They all knew how hard Lucifer's absence was for Trixie. She had hoped for months that this would be just one of his impromptu disappearances and he would turn up suddenly one day like nothing had happened and resume his life with them. But the day her little sister was born and he didn't show up to his event, the girl had lost the last speck of hope she held and resentment settled in for her once beloved friend.

"Aww Trixie…" In Silver City Dan shook his head in disappointment as he had witnessed the entire spectacle from the observation platform. "I better don't mention this to him." It was fortunate that neither Amenadiel, nor him had told the Devil on one of their men nights in Hell of the upcoming Baptism of his daughter and Trixie. He could understand his daughter's feelings since she didn't know the entire picture, yet he had hoped that she wouldn't go down that spiral of anger and hatred. God – literarily – knew how much the Devil suffered. So did he.

"Better leave the entire Baptism out for now." Charlotte suggested her boyfriend, troubled about the incidence.

Back on Earth Trixie hadn't missed the aghast expression of not only the priest, but also that of her mother and her two Godmothers. "What?! Tit for tat, isn't that his motto?"

Chloe whispered a saddened "Trixie." as she shifted Rory to put a comforting hand onto her firstborn's shoulder. First Trixie had lost her father and then only about two months later Lucifer. And her hope day in and day out for their Devil to return had torn at Chloe's heart until she was tempted to tell her the entire truth. But the thought that Trixie's hatred would then shift from Lucifer to Rory, she couldn't bear. And she couldn't risk the possible change of the Time Loop.

When no one was continuing with the Baptism, Trixie looked impatiently up to the priest. "Please go ahead and sprinkle the rancid water on me and my sister."

"Is she doing this to spite my brother?" Amenadiel was tempted to use his omniscient powers to read the girl's mind, yet he kept to his vow to himself that he would leave the thoughts of the mortals private. Just like he didn't really use much of his other omni-powers. Life would either be boring if he knew everything that would happen or he would live in constant fear for a not beneficial pattern to set into motion. How could Uriel just live with that gift? Then again Uriel hadn't given a damn about humans…

"This and getting Maze to be her Godmother." Linda whispered with a sigh. "Two birds with one stone."

A/N: I hope you like it. I have an epilogue in mind skipping ahead of time (or more bridging the gap till and past the final scene).

This is also canon/ a prequel to my story "Audience with the Devil" and "Daddy Night in Hell", where I'll hint onto this story.
