Hey everyone, i decide to skipped into the index arc because i think it's time to start the arc now snd also due to myself that can't compose myself to wrote the index arc.
Johnnygat016: thanks for enjoying the chaoter, and yeah i gave Ruiko a vision because i wanna make her become a fighter along with the others. Also the reason why i gave her the anemo vision is because she's more familiar with the wind powers just likr when she used the level upper. She isn't worship the anemo archon barbatos anyway, just think that Genshin world is one universe with Toaru world.
Anyway, i hope all of you enjoy the chapter, this is where the index arc began.
Chapter 17: Index arc begin.
It was the night of 19th July, Kotaru and Ruiko just finished their dinner at Kotaru's dorm room. After they finished their dinner, both of them sit down on the floor leaning against the bed. Kotaru wonder what Ruiko's been doing that day since Kotaru only lazying around in his dorm room playing games and reading comics, which most boys will do.
"Hey Ruiko-chan, what were you doing today?" Kotaru asked.
"Well, Uiharu and myself was invited by Misaka-san become a swimsuit model in a swimsuit photoshoot," Ruiko explained, "The reason we got invited because there is a small candidate to be a role model."
"Ahhh i see," Kotaru replied, "so did it go really well?"
"Well it really went well," Ruiko said before her face has a visible grimace, "Although the photoshop was kinda chaotic a bit."
Kotaru knew by her expression, something really happen during the photoshoot, so Kotaru asked, "So what exactly happen during the photoshoot?"
"Well, we take a photoshoot inside the studio that could change into so many area almost like your dad's virtual chamber." Ruiko explained, "The photoshoot went well at first, but as the room changing into another situation, it keeps getting worse."
Kotaru become more curious as she tell him about it, he asked again, "How does it getting worse?"
Ruiko began to explain how the photoshoot changing from time to time, that's also including how the weather setting was in such extremes even after she didn't take a photoshoot.
After Kotaru heard everything, he laughs while holding his sides because how funny it was for a few minutes. After he stops, Kotaru put his hand away from his sides and began to talk, "Man, that was some misfortune you girls really have there, i guess Kamijou-senpai's luck really rubbing on you girls."
Ruiko giggled for a fact that might be true, so eventually she looked at him ad she replied, "I guess so." After she says that, Ruiko scretch her arms upwards, try to let the tiredness dissapear after having an eventful day.
Suddenly Ruiko silently lean her head on Kotaru's shoulder and close her eyes as Kotaru lean his head against hers too. They silently enjoy their time alone together in the night. Kotaru wondered something in his head and asked Ruiko, "Hey, have you told anyone in our school already knew our relationship now?"
Ruiko opened her eyes and lazily replied, "I've told mako-chin, Muu, and Akemi when we walked towards the workshop, but i haven't tell about Uiharu, Shirai-san, Misaka-san, and Kamijou-san."
"Well, i guess we should tell our friends as well, though i think Kamijou-senpai knows that." Kotaru knew that both of us haven't told Miska, Kuroko, Uiharu, and Touma about their current relationship now, but he deffinitely sure know that yesterday Touma manage to saw their moments after leaving the workshop.
"I agree with you." Ruiko teplied simply.
Suddenly the room suddenly get dark as the electricity stopped working which made Ruiko and Kotaru stopped leaning their heads against rach other.
"Another blackout?" Ruiko asked as she looked up.
Kotaru facepalmed, he knows what's the cause of the black out. Kotaru answered her, "Ruiko chan, i think Misaka and Kamijou-senpai is the cause of the blackout. Just what are they doing this time?" Kotaru knows that it invilved both Misaka and Touma but didn't know the reason why.
"We should asked them about it tomorrow." Ruiko suggested.
"Yeqh i agree." Kotaru said as he look at his watch, it's already 7:50 p.m which means it's already that late, Kotaru looked at her despite how dark it was and asked her, "Hey it's already late now, do you want me to bring you back to your dorm?"
Ruiko thinking for a few moments and replied, "Sure, i would like that." She knows that it must be dark outside due to the blackout.
"Alright then." Kotaru stand up from his spot and head towards the door followed with Ruiko behind him.
After they were outside his room, Kotaru immediately carried Ruiko in a princess carry mode. Ruiko was suprised by Kotaru's action that made her cheeks reddened, she asked him, "W-What are you doing?"
Kotatu looked at her and simply answered, "I'm carrying you to make sure you got home faster and safer. It's the best choice consider how dark it is now right?"
Ruiko looked around, she didn't expect that it would be this dark around both of them, she admitted, "You're right, let's go now."
"Okay then, hold thight." Kotaru said as he fly towards her dorm.
The next day 20th july, apparently some random lightning strike last night made the power in district 7 was out because of it. And for matter worse, the weather is really hot that he is sweating so hard right now and had to buttoned down his uniform shirt since he's working at judgement, he has to wear his school uniform.
Right now it's 9 AM, Kotaru is at joshep's having a breakfast on his own since he didn't have anything to cook at his dorm. He ordered an omurice with a cold orange juice in order to maintain the heatened atmosphere. After he took a bite from the omurice, his virtual watch suddenly ringing. When he looked at the contact, he saw his dad calling him and he picked it up and says, "Hello?"
"Hello son," Kokoro greeted back, "Are you busy at the moment?"
"Not really dad, i'm having a breakfast now." Kotaru answered, Kotaru know by his dad tone that he needs a help from him, so he asked "Is something wrong dad?"
"Today therr is someone important that you need to meet in my lab," His dad explained, "He said that he wanted to meet you today, you have time today?"
Kotaru thinking for a moment, he has a judgement work today, but he still has a good amount of free time, so he replied, "I have a judgement work today, but i still could visit your lab today."
"Tha's great, meet me at my office then. See you at the lab son." Kokoro said to him from the virtual watch.
"See you dad." Kotaru said before he hung up. Kotaru continued to finishwd his breakfast for a few minutes. After he finished his breafast, he rushed into his dad's lab in an instant.
Kotaru have arrived at his dad's lab, apparently his dad's lab has a good amount of power to run an experiment, he figured that his dad has an emergency power plant inside his lab. He walk towards his dad's office. When he enter his dad's office, he notice someone that he recognize. He has a purple hair with a red quils that was spiked to the back, his height almost the same as him but still smaller than Kotaru, and he wears a red ling sleeves shirt under his black shirt. Kotaru eyes widened ad he knows who that guy really was.
"H-Hondo?!" Kotaru said in suprised.
Hondo looked behind him, his eyes widened and happily greeted, "Kotaru!", Both of them came closer and do their mainly hand shake. Hondo Kowada was litteraly Kotaru's best friend.
"What are you doing here?" Kotaru asked.
"I've become an esper buddy," Hondo answered, "I decide to have a study in this city as well."
"When did you got transfered to this city?" Kotaru asked.
"Well it was yesterday i arrived at this city and manage looked around the city." Hondo explained. "And i didn't expect that i've met your mom yesterday so i manage to understand this city."
"Well, i'm glad that you were here." Indeed, he's happy to finally meet his best friend again. Kotaru then asked him, "What's your level anyway buddy?" Hondo face is kinda saddened, he replied him with a sulking face, "I'm actually a level 0, kinda sucks."
"Well don't worry pal," Kotaru said as he patted his shoulder to reassure him, "I'm also a level 0 as well, the Academy City system scan cannot detect my power.",
"No wonder why, they can't detect my power as well." Hondo said as he showed his necklace.
When Kotaru looked at his necklace, he realised that it's not a normal necklace. He was suprised of what Hondo have, he has a vision as well, it has a Yellow and Blue color on the vision, Kotaru know that it wws a Geo and Hydro elements. Seeing this Kotaru adked him in disbelieve tone, "You have a vision!?"
Hondo tilted his head and asked, "What's a vision?" He didn't know about it yet.
After that, Kotaru began to explain everything about the necklace that Hondo has for a few minutes. After the explanation, Hondo was suprised that he has a power that was coming from another world, he learned that his power was geo and hydro.
"Wow, so that's why the academy city can't detected our power huu." Hondo mused.
"Yep deffinitely." Kotaru confirmed, he take a look at his watch and it indicates it's almost 11 AM, so Kotaru tell Hondo, "Hey Hondo, i'm gonna have a judgement work at my branch, do you wanna come?"
"Uhh are you sure it's ok if i visit you when you at work? I heard from your dad that judgement has some kind of paperwork and a patrol." He didn't want to dosturb his best friend when he's working.
Kotaru shook his head and retorted, "No worries, i have my friends who isn't an judgement member."
"Ahh okay then, i guess i'm okay with that." Hondo replied, he didn't want to disturb Kotaru's work at the judgement.
"Ummm, yeah?" Kotaru said, he expected that he would be suprised.
Hondo was suprised and also happy heard this news. Before Kotaru went to Academy city, he was a shy guy who can't easily talk with everyone which is a big change for him, so he replied as Hondo patted his shoulder, "Congrats man, you finally get rid of your shy side."
"Of course i do," Kotaru shrugged, "Besides, anything could happen in Academy City."
"You're so damn right son." Kokoro agreed.
Everyone inside the room laughing for a few minutes before Kotaru looked at his watch, apparently it's almost afternoon, he remembers that he has a judgement work this afternoon, he turned to Hondo and asked, "Hey, you wanna visit my judgement branch today? My friends will be there as well."
"Sure, why not?" Hondo agreed.
"Okay then, see you later dad." Kotaru waved his hand at his dad.
"Okay, see you later son." Kokoro waved his hand back at him.
Kotaru and Hondo proceed to leave the lab and went straight to Kotaru's branch.
After a few minutes, Kotaru and Hondo finally arrived in front of the office, Kotaru told Hondo to wait a little bit outside.
As Kotaru opened the door, he saw almost everyone is here, do Kotaru greeted, "Good afternoon everyone."
"Good afternoon, Hikari-san/Kotaru-kun." Everyone greeted back.
"You sure take your time to come here," Kuroko said, "What's the holdup?"
"Well, i got a call to meet someone at my dad's office and is currently with me now." Kotaru replied before he looked at the door and said, "cmon, you can come in."
Hondo come inside the room after Kotaru indicate when he supposed to get inside, he saw that everyone who's inside the room were girls, he didn't expect about it at all.
"Everyone, let me introduce to all of you," Kotaru daid as he pointed Hondo, "This is Hondo Kowada, my best friend that moved out here yesterday."
"Hello everyone, nice to meet all of you." Hondo said.
"It's nice to meet all of you, Kotaru's friend." Hondo said to all of them.
"Ahhh so you're Hikari-san best friend huh." Uiharu mused before she introduce herself, "My name's Uiharu Kazari, Hikari-san's classmate."
"I'm Shirai Kuroko."
"I'm Misaka Mikoto."
"And i'm Saten Ruiko, Kotaru-kun girlfriend."
"It's a pleasure to meet you all, though why is Kotaru's friend mostly are girls?" Hondo asked out of nowhere.
"Just... Don't ask, i don't even know myself why." Kotaru shrugged.
Kotaru looked at the paperwork that was on Kuroko's table, he was curious what the paperworks about so he asked Kuroko, "Shirai, what kind of paperwork are you working now?"
"It's about a power outage from last night," Kuroko explained, "So there is a paperwork for it."
"I know whose to fault for this." Kotaru said as he looked at Misaka giving a not amused look.
"W-Why are you looking at me like that, Hikari-san?" Misaka asked awkwardly.
"That's because you're the only one who is the source of this power outage." Kotaru said mockingly.
"How do you know it was me?" Misaka asked.
"Of course he knows Onee-sama, " Kuroko interrupted, "You're the only one that manage to do that."
"Misaka-san, do you mind to explain why did you made all 7th district area get power outage from last night?" Ruiko asked.
"Is there a particular reason for you to do that?" Hondo asked.
Kuroko began to explain about the event last night, apparently Misaka challenge Touma after she find out that she had accidentally broadcasted herself playing at the beach in a childish swimsuit, when the sun was already set, Touma called her and told her about her accidentally broadcasted herself with a childish swimsuit. Misaka challenged Touma that night if she wins, he must forget about every incident.
"So lemme guess," Kotaru interrupted, know where this is going, "Misaka was angry after herealease his grip on her shoulder and sent out a high amount of electricity that made the whiole district 7 got power outage?"
"Yes, that's right." Kuroko confirmed.
Kotaru sighed after that, he also recommened, "I think we better pay a visit at his school, i bet he's having a hard day after last night with an absurd moment of bad luck."
"Is this Kamijou guy so unlucky?" Hondo asked, he didn't know about Touma before so he wasn't familiar with him at all.
Kotaru nodded at him as he explained, "Yeah he is, Kamijou Touma is the person i meet in this city that is the unluckiest guy in the world,, Misfortune always follows him no matter where he go."
"Damn, is therr a reason for that?" Hondo asked.
"Well, his right hand might be the cause," Kotaru explained again, "His hand manage to negate anything that is supernatural, that includes the gods miracle."
"Damn, it must be tough to have it." Hondo mused.
"It deffinitely is," Kotaru agreed, "I feel like we have to check on him on his school, he might be facing an absurd amount of misfortune, so anyone want to join?"
"I got nothing to do, so why not?" Hondo said, he decide to use this chance to meet him.
"Same here, Kotaru-kun." Ruiko joined in.
"Well, i.. i guess i could pay a visit since i'm the one who started this." Misaka said.
"I wanna go too, but due to these amount of paperwork, we can't." Uiharu shrugged.
"I wish Onee-sama didn't went too far last night, the paperworks a bit tight." Kuroko complained.
"Okay, we'll visit him at 3 pm." Kotaru concluded, since he could finish the paperwork faster than Uiharu and Kuroko, "Anyway, you two could do the paperworks after we pay a visit to him."
"I know that skipping judgement work is not right, but i guess i could endure it for now." Kuroko said even though she's a bit skeptical.
"I think we could at least go visit him at his school." Uiharu said.
With that settled, the group decide to visit Touma later.
In a certain high school, Touma is having a suplementary classes. He looked outside the window, thinking about his ecounter with a nun in training he met that morning. He's thinking about what the nun said this morning, she claimed to have 103.000 grimoires made him wonder where did she kept those grimoires. He remembered she said that it was inside her head. He also guessed that she will be back to his dorm room to get back something that the nun left inside his room. When he looked at the entrance of his school, he realised that his friend Kotaru, Misaka, and Ruiko along with someone he don't know is standing in front of the gate, he figured that they were waiting for him.
"Sensei," suddenly Touma's friend, Aogami called his teacher, "Kamijou is straing at the girls tennis team's fluttery skirt."
As soon as he said that, Touma looked at Komoe-sensei who started to have a wattery eyes, every boys looked at Touma while saying "You made her cry.."
"Aogami!" Touma yelled at him, "I was looking at the entrance that my friends was there, stop telling sensei any misinformation, i have a bad day already."
"Your friends?" Komoe-sensei repeated, she instinctively looked at the entrance of the school and saw a familiar group, so Komoe say to the students, "He's telling the truth, his friend was there."
As soon as they heard this, the boys looked outside the window and saw the 'friends' that Touma mention, everyone who looked at them notice that apparently Touma has made eith 4 young middle schooler girls. To made it worse, one of the students recognized that one of the girl was Midaka Mikoto, the railgun Tokiwadai ACE, everyone screamed in shock after hearing this.
Tsuchimikado point his finger at him and cried out, "KAMI-YAN, HOE COULD YOU TO BE ABLE ATTRACT THE LEVEL 5 AT YOU!"
"YOU SAID YOU WERE INTERESTED AT A DORM MANAGER ONEE-SAN TYPE, BUT YOU GOT MORE YOUNGER GIRLS THAN YOU!" Aogami joined in, "DAMN YOU AND YOUR KAMI-YAN DISEASE."
The whole class become a chaos after this. In fact, Kotaru and the group manage to hear how loud it was from the entrance of the school.
"I'm guessing that the whole class is jealous of Kamijou-senpai." Kotaru guessed.
"How so?" Everyone asked Kotaru.
"It's because they saw you girls. They were jealous for a fact that he manage to make friends with a cute middleschooler girls." Kotaru explained, "and they also think that it's his disease fault that manage to do it."
"What kind of disease did you mean?" Ruiko and Hondo asked.
"Apparently, Touma is famous as for the one who has a Kami-yan disease." Kotaru explained, "Which is a disease that could make any girls to fall in live with him after being saved by him as well."
"There is no way that kind of disease even exist." Kuroko daid skeptically.
"I agree with Kuroko as well." Misaka said.
"But what if it really does exist?" Ruiko said excitedly, "Just imagine if so many kind of girls ever gonna fall in love with him."
"Oh god, let's stop this before it get's dangerous." Kotaru said feeling scared.
While they group were talking, inside the class where Touma is, the chaos finally stopped ad Komoe said they have to do a collumbus egg punishment after class. Luckily, Touma don't need to follow the collumbus egg punishment, so Komoe-sensei told him that he could go home now.
As he walked away from his class, he's kinda cheered up and feeling scared at the same time because he manage to get home from school earlier, but he also scared that this kind luck will msde him facing an absurd amount of misfortune sooner or later, but he decide to forget sbout it.
After picking Touma from his school, the group decided to go back to the judgement branch. On the walk, Kotaru wondered what Touma's doing for the day.
"So Kamijou-Senpai," Kotaru began to talk, "How was your day?"
Touma began to talk about how unlucky he was from the morning, where he meet a nun hanging on his balcony, her name was index who claimed to have 103.000 grimoires, he also told them about index crazy story telling that msgic is real and his right hand could negate his luck. Also he tell them that if they didn't come visithim at dchool, he wold be facing a collumbus egg punishment.
"Wow, that was some day you have there, Kamijou-senpai." Uiharu commented.
"I never know your teacher could be that saddistic, Kamijou-san." Ruiko said, know how innocent she looks.
"Well, at least i'm happy that all of you come at my school, i eill be facing that pumishment again." Touma said feeling thankful.
Touma realised that there is someone that he never met in the group, he asked, "So, who are you anyway?"
"Oh yeah i forgot to told you who i am, hehe." Hondo said scrstching the back of his head. He forgot to introduce himself to Touma who haven't meet him because he got distracted by his story. He proceed to introduce who he was as Kotaru's best friend, he also told Touma about his vision.
"It's nice yo meet you Kowada, i guess i know why you were best friend with Hikari." Touma said.
"Nice to meet you Kamijou-san." Hondo said back, he snapped something in his mind "Oh yeah, speaking of meeting someone, what's your relationship with Kotaru, Saten? I noticed that you called him by his given names."
Kotaru and Ruiko blushed in response, Kotaru and Ruiko exchange looks whether on who decide to tell dvryone about their relationship now, but Ruiko decide to tell everyone, so she said stuttering, "I am his g-g-girlfriend, Kowada-san."
Everyone stopped from their tracks shocked by the bombshell. Everyone frozen in place, didn't expect that Ruiko has taken by Kotaru that fast. Touma is the only one who recovered from this revelation because he remember the time when Touma saw Ruiko and Kotaru holding hands when they about to leave the level upper workshop at that time, Touma has a urge to tease Kotaru, so he began to talk, "Well now it make sense, congrats Hikari for picking a girl."
"Thanks, senpai." Kotaru replied.
"Congrats Saten-san, you manage to steal his heart." Misaka congratulate Ruiko.
"T-Thabk you, Misaka-san." Ruiko stuttered as she still blushing really hard.
"Wow, you really got a girlfriend, i'm really suprised. Back in Kyoto, you always felt shy talking to girls, but after you moved here, you changed. Either way, congrats buddy." Hondo said, he really knows how he looks like before he moved out to Academy City.
"Yeah we should celebrate this later, i was really happy Hikari-san, Saten-san." Uiharu was really happy that both of her best friend in her school has become a couple.
"I would like to celebrate either, but let's not forget the reasone why we visit Kamijou-san school okay?" Kuroko reminded.
"Ah yeah i forgot," Kotaru said scratching the back of his head, "Let's go back to the branch, there's some paperwork due to the power outage."
Touma sighed after heard what Kotaru just said, he muttered, "So i still have to finish out some paper work after leaving school early huh? Such misfortune."
"Does Kamijou-san always says that everytime?" Hondo asked.
"Only when he faced a misfortune." Everyone except Touma and Hondo said in unison.
The group continue walked towards the branch. The judgement member continue to finished their judgement work afterwards until the sun finally setting create an orange sky.
After they finished their work, the group decide to visit Touma dorm room this time. Most people in the group never visit Touma's dorm, so they curious how it looks like. After everyone arrived at the floor where his room was located, they followed Touma who's leading them to his room but Touma stopped on his track when he saw three cleaning robot surrounding something that was lying on the ground.
"Why is there a cleaning robot gather there?" Misaka asked.
"I don't know, but let's get closer to check out." Kuroko suggested.
The group walk closer to the cleaning robots, they saw a girl with a long blue hair in a gold habit is laying on the floor.
Touma leaning down, he proceed to shook the girl gently try to wake her up.
"Hey wake up, don't sleep right here-" Touma said, but was cutten out as he felt something on his right hand. When he looked at his hand, there is a liquid in his hand.
It was blood.
"What the hell?" Touma asked to nobody.
"Oh my god.." Saten and Uiharu trailed off, cannot take this level of gore.
"Why is she covered in blood!?" Kuroko asked.
"What happened?" Hondo asked in shock.
"Who could have possibly done this?" Kotaru, and Touma asked.
All of them stopped questioning when they heard a footstep behind them. The group turned around and saw a man that has long red hair, a barcode tattoo, black robes reminiscent of those worn by priests, and a lit cigarette in his mouth. He had the appearance of a man in his twenties and work a confident smirk on his face. He answered calmly, not even skipping a beat.
"That would be us," the man said, "As in sorcerer."

I took this long to make this chapter because i have to help my brother renovating our bedroom, kinda took 2 weeks to finish.
