Hi everyone, in this chapter the group will fight against Kanzaki and Stiyl.
Johnnygat016: indeed i tried to made everyone to learn magic existence and yeah of course index will be amazed about it too. Maybe there will be a chance for them to learn more about tevyat, but i'm not 100% sure i will made them learn more, let's see in the future maybe.
Chapter 20: Saint of the magic.
It was the night of 24th july, Touma, Kotaru, Ruiko, Hondo, and index was heading towards the local bath house because Touma decide to get index having a trip there for the first time. While Uihsru is making sure there's nobody suspicious on the road that day, while Misaka and Kuroko had to do some shopping and that includes a set of clothes for Index since she's only wearing a nun habit.
On the way, Kotaru asked index about her life in england since he was curious about it. Everyone present was suprised when Index told Kotaru that she only remember up a year ago, which it got worse when Index told them that she didn't even remembered her identity, only remembered the knowledge about magic. Index also mention that she has a photographic memory which is something they just learned.
But something troubled everyone especially Touma, why did index don't remember anything except for a year ago, she didn't even remembered her identity at all. The question is why she was forced to forget so much of her life? Just why? They all went silent thinking about this, but Index noticed their expression but mostly focused on Touma.
She asked Touma if she said something that made him mad, but Touma denied about it. Since index didn't buying his answer, index kept pushing the question, eventually leading Touma to say something insensitive without thinking. She responded in anger, biting him multiple times before running off by herself.
After a bit later, Touma and the group continue walking towards the bathub tried to catch up with index.
"I can't believe that she just biting me all she want and run away just like that." Touma muttered as he looked at the bite mark index created in Touma's hand.
"Well, i should have seen that coming since that is also your bad luck." Kotaru said.
"But are you sure that we will met her at the local bath house?" Ruiko asked Kotaru.
"Well, she already memorised the way, so it should be fine." Hondo answered.
As soon as they enter the road, suddenly they notice something was off, the lights were a bit dark, the place around them quiet with nobody around that includes a passing car, and the people around it.
"What just happened?" Ruiko asked as she getting scared.
"Why there is nobody here at all?" Kotaru asked, they were sure that everything around them suddenly gone.
"It's just a rune." The unfamiliar voice answered coming from behind them, "A rune that could removed all people from here."
When they turned around, they saw Kaori Kanzaki but they didn't know who she really was.
"You're..." Was all Touma said.
"Kaori Kanzaki was my name." the tall woman introduced herself."I rather not to mention my other name."
"Your other name?" Touma asked.
"A magic name, so you're a magician as well huh?" Kotaru asked as he figured out what she is.
"That's right." Kanzaki said as Stiyl standing beside her.
"We meet again, students." Stiyl said.
"You again." Hondo said as he pointe his finger towards Stiyl, "You want a round 2 i see."
"I'll get straight to the point," Kanzaki said, "We want to secure that girl before i reveal my magic name."
"And if we refuse to do it?" Touma asked as he turned his right hand into a fist.
"Then i have no choice, " kanzaki said as she grabbed the Katana handler, "I'll just say my name, then secure her."
She unseathed her katana and launch an attack, but the attack wasn't mean to hit the students as the attack hit one of the windmill propeller and knocked it to the ground. Everyone looked at the proppeler that Kanzaki just cut behind them didn't notice kanzaki seathed her katana.
"I will repeat myself." Kanzaki said as all students looked at them, "I will secure that girl before i mention my magic name."
"You already know the answer, magicians." Kotaru said as he began to glow a light green aura around him as an indication that Kotaru will transformed, "No matter what happened, we won't let you lay a hand on Index!"
A light of light green burst into the air as he finished talking and the light that emited from Kotaru made everyone closed their eyes. After the bright light has gone, everyone opened their eyes to find Kotaru has 8 kite shaped wings with a multiple red and purple colored circle in it behind him, Touma and Ruiko smiled to see Kotaru determined to fight the magicians as for Hondo, his mouth was wide agape, he suprised to see Kotaru has a transformation and he could tell that Kotaru is stronger now. As for the magician itself, they sweatdropped when they saw Kotaru form. They could tell that Kotaru is the main danger opponent now.
"So magicians," Kotaru began to ask as he used his virtual watch, create a sword that he used tofight against innocentius before, he walk slowly towards the saint asked, "Shall we begin the fight?"
I recommend all of you to play the song "Octopath traveler battle at journey's end."
"Tch," Kanzaki clicked her tounge, "Salvare000, NANASEN!"
As soon as she say her magic name, she let out a roar of wind towards Kotaru.
In response, Kotaru swing his sword that was infused with his wind power blocking her attacks as he said, "Burst edge wind!" He knocked the roar of wind from Kanzaki to the building and he charge towards kanzaki in a high speed as he try to attack her swinging his sword towards her after he get close to Kanzaki.
Kanzaki blocked Kotaru attack but still struggling as she got pushed back, leaving Touma, Ruiko, Hondo, and Stiyl.
"Kanzaki!" Stiyl yelled as he tried to chase them, but he stopped when he saw Hondo water skate get in front og him and punch stiyl but Stiyl crossed his arm blocking his punch and got pushed backwards.
"You will be fighting us, Stiyl Magnus." Hondo said as he reinforced his hand turned into a water stone hands along with Ruiko create a wind sword of her own and Touma pumping his fist.
Yesterday, Ruiko asked Kotaru to helped her train using her power to the next level and Kotaru agreed and trained her on the Virtual chamber. When she trained, she domehow manage to learn on create a sword accidentally when she tried to rotate the wind power on her palm in order to create a hovered ball.
Seeing this, Stiyl began to chant and summon Innocentius again, but this time Innocentius was bigger and stronger than the first time they fight.
"Don't even think i will fall for the same trick again." Stiyl said as Innocentius began to attack.
"Sorry, but we already learned a new tricks that will caught you off guard." Hondo said as he launch a rocket punch towards Innocentius.
Innocentius blocked Hondo attacks using the giant cross it has, but Hondo isn't done yet, he launch multiple rocket punch of a water stone which made Innocentius get pushed back because of the impact, but the guard broke when Ruiko sent out a soaring wind attack from behind which pushed innocentius towards Hondo who still keep attacking with a barrage of water stones punch.
Meanwhile Stiyl saw that Innocentius got cornered so he try attack Hondo from the side using his flame blast, but got blocked by Touma.
"Your opponent is me, Stiyl." Touma said challenging, Stiyl know that he can't get away from Touma so he prepared to fight Touma.
As for Kanzaki and Kotaru, the two keep clashing against each other, Kotaru keep offensive towards from all directoon since he could fly so fast kanzaki attacking her using his sword that was infused with his electro power while kanzaki tried to block his attack. She might be powerfull, but she's not as fast as Kotatu that keep flying attack her from every direction.
Suddenly Kotaru stopped flying when a wires wrapping his body. He saw that the wores came from Kanzaki herself which siprise Kotaru.
"You've done well against me, but it's over because you can't do anything now." Kanzaki said thinking that she finally cornered her.
Kotari began to emit a good amount of electricity running through his body, he fired back, "If you really think i already lost, then YOU'RE WRONG!" Kotaru semt out electric attacks running through the wires that wrapping his body that head towards Kanzaki.
Kanzaki countered Kotaru attacks by running through a fire attack running through the iron wires and it explode when they clashed whoch made Kotaru free from her wires grip.
"Nice trick you got there, but you need to do betrer rhan that in otder to beat me kanzaki." Kotatu mocked as he charge towards Kanzaki and clashing their sword against each other again.
"Just give up and give index to us!" Kanzaki demanded as she struggling in the clash.
"You know the answer and so do i." Kotaru fired back as their sword clashed again.
Back with Ruiko, Hondo, and Touma fight against Stiyl and Innocentius. Ruiko and Hondo catching their breath because they've been fighting innocentius for a while and keep struggling too because Innocentius keep regenerating it's body unless the rune was destroyed as for Touma, he keep dodging Stiyl attacks most of the times tried to find an opening. He keeps ducking, and jump everywhere since he has his battle instinct fighting against so many espers.
Ruiko came up with an idea to defeat innocentius for good, she told Hondo that she will charge a gigantic wind bomb to attack Innocentius so she asked help to Hondo fto buy time for her to launch a powerfull attack.
Hondo agreed with her plan, so Hondo charge towards Innocentius, try to give Ruiko time. As for Ruiko, she held out both of her hands in front of her, she began to gather winds in front of her and a spiralic wind gather in front of her slowly creating a giant wind ball in front of her.
As for Touma and Stiyl, Touma somehow is only focusing on defense since Stiyl keep throwing a good amount of firr attacks towards Touma. When Stiyl stopped attacking, both Touma and Stiyl felt a high amount of wind coming from the sides. When they looked at where the wind was going, they saw Ruiko almost fully charge her attacks along with Innocentius is being hold by Hondo create a pillar of hand from the ground.
Since innocentius can't move from the spot, she asked Hondo to share a bit of his water power to her attacks. After he gave his power, the wind has swirled the water and the light grren wind attack has transformed into a swirled water ball.
With no encouragement, Ruiko launch her swirled water bomb to Innocentius. When the bomb hits Innocentius, Ruiko control the wind upwards to make sure her attack didn't hit anything. After a few seconds, the bomb explode with the sky brightened the city with it's blue light and it start to rain sround that area.

Index who has running away after biting Touma is lost on the way as she struggled going through a crowd od people, but she was lucky to meet Misaka and Kuroko on the way.
"Index?" Misaka sasked as both Kuroko and Misaka approach Index who was alone right now, "What in the world are you doing here? Aren't you supposed to be with that idiot along with Saten-san, Hikari-san, and Kowada-san?"
"At firs i did, but Touma say something insensitive to me so i bite him and run away afterwards." Index admitted.
"Good grief, he never learned does he?" Misaka groaned.
"I guess we better find them now." Kuroko said.
Suddenly index felt a magic power coming from behind her and far away. She turned sround and look towards the direction where the magic power she felt was coming from.
"What's wrong index?" Kuroko asked.
"I felt a high amount of magic coming from that direction." Index said while still looking towards the direction index looked at.
Suddenly they saw a giant blue ball from a distance flying to the sky and explode on the sky and let out a loud explosions.
Every people in the area looked towards the direction where the explosion happens and people starts to whispered against each other questioning what happened.
"Is that... Magic?" Misaka asked.
"Yes, i felt a high amount of magic there." Index confirmed.
"Then we better hurry up or yhings could get bad." Kuroko suggested, grabbing Misaka and Index shoulder and start teleport to the location where the explosion coming from.
A drip of water falling from the sky. Ruiko felt exhausted after she launch her attacks and has vaporize Innocentius in the explosion.
"Impossible, Innocentius is gone... How?" Stiyl asked in disbelieve as he slowly walked backwards, he didn't expect that Innocentius got beaten.
"Simple, Kotaru-kun told me that when his wind power touch another element like water, fire, and thunder, that element will swirled onto that wind," Ruiko explained as she tried to keep her balance from her current exhaustion, "Since my wind already got swirled by Kowada-san's hydro power, Innocentius got absorbed and got vaporized inside the wind."
"I never know about that, that's litteraly the coolest thing i ever heard." Touma said amazed.
"That's really smart, no wonder why Kotaru fall in love with you, Saten. I hope you keep making him happy" Hondo praised, now he know one of the reason why Kotaru loved Ruiko.
Ruiko turned and him and said with a happy tone, "Thanks Kowada-san, and yes i will make him happy." She still remember her ambition to protec everyone she cares especially her boyfriend.
Touma, Hondo, and Ruiko turned to Stiyl who's still shock about what happened to Innocentius, he knows that the same trick won't work but he never expected that these students manage to beat Innocentius while Stiyl struggling fighting Touma. Now that they win, they try to interogate Stiyl.
"Why do you guys wanted to erased Index memories?" Touma asked, "Why she has to suffer like that?"
"Please just tell us why!" Hondo command.
Seeing no other way around, Stiyl only sighed and tell the truth, "The truth is, we decide to remove her unnecessary memory on her head."
"But why? Why do you guys do that?" Ruiko asked.
"The reason why we do that because of the grimoires inside her head," Stiyl explained as he clutching his hand into a fist, "Those grimoires has 85 percent of index memory capacity and the 15% for the other function. If we didn't erase her memories..." Stiyl paused mid sentence.
"What would happen if she didn't get her memories erased?" Hondo asked.
"She'll... Died." Stiyl finished.
The group eyes widened, they shock to learned the truth that was revealed by stiyl. The fact that she'll died if she didn't get her memories erased every year was deffinitely insane.
"There must be a way, there has to be!" Touma said in frustation.
"There is no other way!" Stiyl yelled, "The knowlede of tjose grimoires inside her head can't be destroyed or removed from her brain at all!"
Stiyl took a deep breaths before he continue, "I your place before, the time i spent with her in your place and everything just like you before her memories got erased! Kanzaki is the same as well, both of us don't like to do it too, but this is something we need to do."
Suddenly they heard a explosion coming from behind Stiyl, they saw that Kanzaki has been knocked to the ground and suddenly a electrical attack strikes her from the sky. They looked to the sky and saw that Kotaru has prepare to shoot Kanzaki using an arrow on his bow.
"Oi, Hikari that's enough! You don't need to hurt them anymore!" Touma yelled at Kotaru but Kotaru didn't heard Touma at all and finally he fully charged his attack and prepared to shoot Kanzaki.
"Swirled Overloaded Calabolg!" Kotaru cried out as he launch the attack.
Kanzaki tried to evade Kotaru attack bu she can't move because before she got knocked to the ground, Kotaru has used a 'Thunder Bind' against Kanzaki so she can't move at all.
The arrow fly towards Kanzaki on a high amount of speed, it let out a massive pilar of explosion soaring through the sky.
Meanwhile as Kuroko, Misaka, and Index teleporting to get to where the battle happens, they saw another explosion from far away but the difference is thet the explosion is bigger than before.
Index felt chills running through her spine, not only the high amount of magic energy coming from there, but also how dangerous the attack was.
"That attack..." Index said with a fear expression, "That attack was so powerful that it surpassing the saints power."
"Saints?" Misaka asked.
"What is saints, Index?" Kuroko asked as they keep teleporting, both espers never heard of such thing before.
"Saints are powerful magicians, who possess characteristics of the Son of God, allowing them to draw upon his powers. They have superhuman strength and senses, can move as supersonic speeds, and can use much more powerful spells." Index answered.
Upon hearing these, Misaka and Kuroko learned that there is someone that powerfull in the world outside of academy city. They felt like they like a small fish in a big pond.
After the smoke had been cleared out, Stiyl and the students excluding Kotaru went to the crater and finds out that Kanzaki is wounded really bad. After they saw how bad Kanzaki wound really was, Kotaru landed on his feet and transform back to his normal form. He turned to all of his friends and his girlfriend and asked, "So i guess it's already settled huh?"
"Yep we did," Ruiko answered, she looked at the wounded Kanzaki that got carried by Stiyl, "you don't have to go that far though."
"Well it can't be helped, she's really strong." Kotaru shrugged.
"Whatever, we'll discuss about a way to help index without erased her memories at 27th july, you two better leave now magicians." Hondo say to Stiyl.
Without any other conversation, Stiyl carried Kanzaki and leaving the students from that area. After the magicians left, Index, Kuroko, and Misaka just arrived at their place.
"Everyone!" Index called out.
"Are you guys okay?" Misaka asked in worried.
"What happened here?" Kuroko asked.
"A really hard fight, that's what." Kotaru answered.
"Yeah, we really did a good... job..." Ruiko said as she slowly going to fall unconscious.
Kotaru immediately grabbed her from the fall and began to carry her in a princess carry again.
"She's really out cold now." Kotaru said.
"Yeah, she did beat innocentius with that big blast." Hondo said for confirmation.
"Well i guess i better carried her to her dorm, see you later guys." Kotaru said as he starts to fly.
"See you later Kotaru, Ruiko." Index said waving her arm as Kotaru and Ruiko finally fly away.
After this, the group decide to continue to the local bath house. After the fight that happened, it would let them get relax for a while especially for Touma. But he wonder what should he do to save index without getting her memory erased.
