Author's Note: So, I made a mistake in the first chapter, I accidently put it 7 years earlier, what I meant to type was 4 years earlier. However, in response to a comment, Yes I am changing the timeline. So, in this story, all of them are about the same age (including Misaka), there are no age gaps. There are going to be a lot of timeline changes so, I'm just letting you know now so that way I don't get spamed with questions.

*4 Years Later (Present Day Academy City)*

Shirai Kuroko is an esteemed member of Judgement. Her mentor is now her boss, and Uiharu is now her partner. She entered Tokiwadai for middle school and her roommate is the famous "railgun" that she had heard about. Turns out, she wasn't stuck up or unlikable, and the two quickly became best friends.

She had never seen the boy from seven years ago again, but assumed that he had died from his injuries. He had a huge effect on her and how she solved problems. Even though she was still reckless, she now listened to others more and sometimes heeded to their advice and expertise.

She often laid in her bed at night and wondered why he did what he did.

But above all, she wanted an opportunity…

...an opportunity to thank him…

"I can't believe that idiot got away again…"

One night while she was laying in bed, she heard her roommate mumbling angrily.

"Who got away?"

Misaka's eyes widened when she realized that Kuroko had heard her.

"O-Oh it's just some guy that I can't beat…"

Kuroko's eyes widened. Someone that Misaka Mikoto can't beat? She had a hard time believing that. She stared at her roommate, who looked embarrassed by herself, and tried to cheer her up.

"W-Well you are only third ranked, so there are level fives that are better than you."

Misaka looked down.

"That's just the thing… he is a level zero..."

Kuroko's jaw dropped in complete shock.

"How can a level zero, beat the third ranked level five?"

"W-Well… what's his esper ability? It must be good…"

"That's the thing, he doesn't seem to have one, my attacks just do nothing to him…"

Kuroko was in disbelief. Her roommate was the strongest person she knew, and now she was saying that she got beat by a level zero with no powers. She really wanted to know who this level zero was, but now wasn't the time to talk about it with her roommate. The sun was setting and her roommate was already laying in bed, asleep.

"I wonder… who has that kind of power…"

…..

Kamijou Touma arrived at his house, tired. That girl that he kept running into had tried fighting him again tonight. He had always had bad luck, but it had seemed to intensify ever since he had moved to Academy City. Four years ago, his family was in Academy City, looking for a middle school, when he had helped stop a bank robbery. He was badly injured and it still was a hindrance to him, even at the present time. The leaders of Academy City praised him greatly, and even gave him a scholarship to a school in the city. His first night, he saw some thugs picking on a girl, but when he stepped in to help, she was mad at him.

"Girls are strange …"

His time in Academy City, so far, had been crazy. A nun-looking girl had ended up on his balcony and that led to an even deeper maze of secrets and knowledge that had changed his life.

He had thought about the circumstances that had got him here. Four years back, when his family had come to Academy City, they weren't expecting to be able to afford the tuition. He came from a relatively poor family, but his father wanted him to have the best education possible. They just happened to be in the bank when the robbery started. He remembered the fear on his parents' faces as they clung to him in the corner of the bank.

He was amazed when a girl had confronted and beat the first robber. He remembered wanting to be that brave. However, a second robber had somehow beat the girl and was about to kill her. A glance at the girl's face was enough to tell him that she was scared, as she was dangled by the robber. Touma had made up his mind to help her, even though he was scared. He broke free from his parents' grip and charged at the robber.

The rest of the fight was a blur, but it ended with him and the girl victorious. The girl had immediately rushed to someone before Touma could thank her. As he was heading back to his parents arms he had seen the robber get up and charge at the girl. On instinct, Touma rushed and pushed the girl out of the way. A dull pain was felt, as the knife penetrated his chest. He was having a hard time staying conscious after that, everything was blurry to him. He remembered his parents and that girl kneeling over him. On his way to the hospital, he passed out from the pain.

When he woke up, he was greeted by the Heaven Chancellor (the best doctor in Academy City). Touma was told that he was lucky to be alive after all the blood that he had lost. He still felt pain from the stab and had to take meds to soothe it. However, Touma was happy to still be alive, so were his parents. He accepted the scholarship to Academy City and that's where he was today.

He sometimes laid in bed and thought about the circumstances that had got him here, but most of all he thought about the girl that he had saved all those years ago.

...that girl…

...did she end up being okay?…

...how is she now?...

And the biggest question in his mind.

"Will I ever see her again…?"

…..

Remedial classes, the killer of a good day. Touma wasn't the best student, so he unfortunately had to attend these. He sat through a day of learning and almost had a brush with death when he made his teacher cry, but once he got out, he was in a rush to get home so that he could enjoy his leisure time. On the way home he was stopped by the girl that kept wanting to battle.

"Uh oh, she's walking right at me…"

"Ah, Zapper, do you have remedial classes too?"

She got an angry look on her face.

"I told you not to call me that! Anyway, no, I don't have remedial classes, I am a good student."

"So… what do you want?"

"Today is the day that I finally beat you! So get your last words and affairs in order, you hear me?!

Kamijou kept walking with a smile on his face, "Nah."

"What was that?!" She shot a bolt of electricity at him, which he dodged.

"What the hell! I haven't done anything to piss you off, I haven't laid a finger on you!"

"Which makes it a draw for both of us!"

He continued walking away, "Fine! You win! Is that what you want to hear?!"

She got in front of him and blocked his escape.

"Take this seriously!"

Touma had enough at this point, she was wasting his free time.

"Oh, you want me to take this seriously?! First I have to deal with a whiny roommate and now I have a psycho girl trying to beat me up!

"P-Psycho girl?!" There were sparks flying around Misaka's head.

Touma's eyes widened as he realized his mistake. He was just getting angry and he had finally snapped. One of the reasons that he was avoiding fighting with her was because if his adrenaline rose too high, he would have heart pains because of his injury. He wanted to avoid a fight with her, at all costs.

"Look I'm sorry for insulting you, please leave me alone."

But Misaka wasn't listening to him, she was blinded by her rage and her wanting to win. She set off a massive discharge of energy that fried all electronics nearby, including some security bots.

"Electrical discharge detected. Breach of esper power usage in public laws. Judgement has been notified."

Touma was mad, "What the hell, why did you do that?!"

When he looked to where Misaka was, he noticed that she had already taken off running. Touma sighed, running was something that he shouldn't do with his injury, but he couldn't afford to be caught by Judgement, so he took off, breathing hard.

Kuroko and Uiharu were patrolling the area nearby, when their alarms went off for criminal activity. Kuroko quickly grabbed Uiharu's arm and started teleporting them to the scene of the crime. Uiharu was a little angry about the lack of a warning before the teleporting started, but Kuroko did this all the time.

When they arrived, they started looking for suspects. Uiharu was looking in the security bots' memory banks, while Kuroko was teleporting around looking for anyone suspicious. She landed near an alleyway, and was about to teleport away again because no one was nearby, but then she heard some heavy breathing, coming from the alleyway. She quickly rushed to where she heard the noise coming from.

"Freeze! Judgement!"

Her eyes widened at what she saw. It was a black-haired boy on all fours that looked about her age. He was clearly having trouble breathing.

"O-Ok you caught me… please let me get my pills…"

He started to reach for his bag, but Kuroko had seen that one before. She teleported and stepped on his extended hand.

"Put your hands behind your back, and don't resist!" She yelled, preparing her spikes in case of resistance.

*cough* "P-Please my pills…"

He grabbed his chest and looked up at her, her eyes widened in shock.

"It's him…!"

All of her training on what to say, flew out of her mind. She found herself standing still in shock. He reached for his bag again, this time Kuroko didn't stop him. He opened his pill capsule and ate two pills. The relief was instant, and his breathing slowed. As his eyes unblurred he caught a shocked Kuroko looking at him. His eyes widened, he instantly knew who she was.

"Y-You are the girl from the bank-"

He was interrupted by a tight hug from the girl. She quickly let go, blushing, once she realized what she had done.

"I-I'm sorry-"

"Don't be, I'm really glad that I get to meet you again. I didn't think I ever would."

"Heh, Same here."

"May I ask your name?"

Kuroko realized that even though they shared a bond, they didn't know each other's names yet.

"I'm Shirai Kuroko." She said, offering a hand to help him get up.

"Kamijou Touma. Nice to meet you."

"He has such a nice name…"

"She grew to be beautiful…"

They stared at each other for a while, before they were interrupted by Uiharu, who had just rounded the corner to the alleyway.

"Miss Shirai, have you found anything?"

Kuroko looked at Uiharu, then at Kamijou. He was looking at her with a look of comfort, telling her that it was okay. He held out his hands to be handcuffed, but heard a response from Kuroko.

"Nope, nothing yet."

Uiharu left and continued her search and Kuroko turned back to Touma. He scratched the back of his head.

"Thanks, you didn't have to do that."

"Something tells me that that incident wasn't fully your fault, right?"

He smiled, "Heh, yeah it wasn't."

"Besides, it was the least I could do… with you saving my life and all." She mumbled to herself.

"What?"

"Oh, nothing. I've got to get back to searching, but I really want to talk with you…"

"How about the coffee place in the plaza, tomorrow, at noon?"

Kuroko was surprised how fast he pitched that idea, maybe he had the same questions as her.

"Y-Yeah, that sounds good."

Kamijou smiled, "I really look forward to it, Shirai Kuroko."

Kuroko blushed, not knowing why.

"M-Me too."

…..

The two parted with smiles on their faces and an overwhelming sense of happiness. They both looked forward to the lunch "date" tomorrow. Little did they know, tonight would mark a change for Touma. Tomorrow he was going to wake up with a "clean slate" and, perhaps, forget about a certain "date".
