His black hair was fluttering in the light breeze that was passing through. His torn, bloodied shirt had seen better days. In front of him lay Academy City's number one esper, Accelerator. As Misaka Mikoto watched this scene unfold, only one thing went through her mind.
"He's keeping his promise…"
Misaka couldn't believe it. Kamijou Touma was a stranger, nobody would blame him if he had walked away from this fight. And yet, here he stood taking on Accelerator for a chance for her sisters to have a better life.
Her shock quickly turned to fear as she saw Accelerator get back up looking quite enraged. Nobody had ever made him bleed before, especially a puny level zero. He took more swings at Touma, but all of them missed. Touma's punches, however, connected and Accelerator was once again on the ground.
Accelerator was shocked, his esper powers were seemingly nullified when he was fighting this man. However, as he laid on the ground in pain, he suddenly felt different. A surge of power shot through his body. He raised his hand and tried out this newfound power. He compressed and controlled it to start spinning rapidly. A tornado-like cone formed around him and objects started getting swept up with the wind.
"How did Accelerator get more powerful from getting beat up?" Misaka asked herself. She was clinging to the fence trying not to get blown away by the massive tornado that was forming in front of her. And then she saw it, or more accurately, him. An unconscious Kamijou Touma was soaring through the air after getting swept up by the tornado. She gasped at the height that he reached. Her eyes then widened, "He's falling." Kamijou Touma was descending through the air at a rapid speed and all Misaka could do was watch from the other side of the fence.
Halfway through his fall he slammed against a pole at full speed then hit the ground, surrounded by blood. Miska could feel tears in her eyes.
"He's… gone…"
Misaka fell on her knees. It was almost an hour ago that he had stopped her from taking her own life. He had told her that he could save everyone and put an end to the terrible experiments that were making her miserable.
'How could you save everyone… if you couldn't save yourself?' Misaka was crying at the realization that that idiot wouldn't be in her world anymore.
Her sadness was eventually replaced with anger, a rage that was all directed at one person, Accelerator. She raced around the chain fence and confronted Accelerator who was now standing up and testing the boundaries of his newfound power.
"Accelerator!" Misaka stood behind him with her railgun in hand "Don't move…"
Just as she was about to fire her railgun , she heard a small voice off to her left side.
"D-Don't do it… Misaka…"
A wave of relief washed over Misaka. Touma was somehow still alive, she smiled at this fact.
'Sorry that your dream won't come true, it may be selfish of me, but I want you to live.'
Accelerator was surprised to see the original Misaka here in the flesh, but even her famous railgun could do nothing against him in his current state. He glanced at Misaka, flashed a grin, and turned back to what he was doing.
Misaka was shocked, she was about to launch her most powerful attack right at him, and he looked as if he didn't care at all. She then stopped and took a look at what Accelerator was doing to the air. He was compressing it so much that it was turning into plasma. He was about to launch an attack capable of leveling Academy City.
She quickly looked around and saw her clone lying on the ground, an idea forming in her head. She ran to her clone, tears in her eyes, and asked for help.
"She's cold… what kind of horrible person am I?"
"Why are you crying?" Asks Misaka who has woken from unconsciousness.
"I need your help, please, save his dream…"

Accelerator realized that something was off, he had done all the calculations but it wasn't working properly. He then saw something that made him angry.
"Those clones are reversing the wind mills, my plan won't work…"
He then turned to face the original.
"You really are an annoyance…" He said with a scowl on his face.
He opened his mouth to say something else, but he heard a noise to his side. He looked to his side and saw that puny level zero getting up.
"T-That's impossible…" Accelerator stepped back, his eyes widened.
"What am I doing… I am Accelerator, the number one esper in Academy City… I could beat that level zero with the flick of my finger!"
And with that statement he charged. Misaka saw what was about to happen. Touma was so weakened in his current state, he couldn't defend himself. She tried to fire her railgun but she dropped the coin. All she could do was watch.
Accelerator charged Touma but he dodged the punch last second and got in one of his own. When the dust settled both of them were on the ground. Misaka's eyes widened as she rushed over to Touma. His bloodied head lay on her lap.
"M-Misaka... did w-we do it?" He said weakly.
"Yes, we did." She said closing her eyes and crying. She felt something touch her head, it was his hand.
"D-Don't cry for me… Misaka-" His hand went limp and he faded into unconsciousness.
Misaka's eyes widened.
"We have to get him to a hospital!"
She turned to her clone.
"Police and Medics are on their way here. It wouldn't be wise for us to stay. Says Misaka, hinting that we should leave."
She looked down at the boy who still laid in her lap. She hated having to leave him but she knew that she couldn't be caught here. She leaned over and, between sobs, whispered to the unconscious boy.
"Whenever you need me, I'll be there…"
