"Whenever you need me, I'll be there…"
Those words echoed through Misaka Mikoto's mind while she laid in her bed at the dorm rooms.
"I can't believe that I said that to him. Granted, he was unconscious, but still, it's so embarrassing…"
She had meant every word of what she said. She was embarrassed to say it, but that idiot was a huge part of her world. He had always been nice, even when she attacked him, and he had just saved her life.
"He also saved 10,000 other lives…"
Misaka had to find a way to thank him.
"I have to go see him at the hospital tomorrow… What should I get him?"
Misaka laid in her bed thinking about this, while her roommate laid across from her and watched her think.
"What were you doing tonight Onii-sama… and why are you blushing?"

Kamijou Touma woke up in a hospital bed in immense pain. He felt like every bone in his body had been crushed. Then he realized that someone else was in the room looking at him. She jumped back when she realized that he had woken up.
"Ah, Biri-Biri, It is good to see you." Forcing a smile on his face, trying to hide the pain.
"My name is Misaka Mikoto, learn it."
Misaka realized that she was getting mad at him. She looked down in embarrassment.
"Anyway… I brought you some get well cookies… I hand picked them myself-"
"When it comes to cookies… aren't handmade the best?" He said with a teasing grin.
Misaka fired back with a smile.
"What do you expect from me?"
Touma then got a serious look on his face.
"So are they ending the experiment?"
She looked at him.
"Of course he is worrying about others…"
"Yes, my sisters told me that they are shutting down the remaining facilities."
Touma got a huge grin on his face.
"We did it! My plan worked!"
Misaka just stared at him. He was obviously in pain, but he was putting on this facade to cheer her up.
"How... How did he do it?"
"Yes your plan worked, but don't get a big head about it, idiot."
He just smiled and laid back on his bed. They sat in silence for a while.
"Well… I have to go back to school. See you around."
"Yep… see you Biri-Biri."
She didn't correct him. She just smiled and walked out.

Misaka thought about him all day at school.
"Why can't I get him out of my mind…"
She wanted to see him again but she didn't know why. Was it because he saved her? Was it because she always felt comfortable around him? She then remembered something that he had said that morning.
"When it comes to cookies… aren't handmade the best?"
She had never made cookies before, but she could probably ask her friends for help.
"If that idiot wants homemade cookies, then I could at least try to make some for him."
A couple of phone calls later, she found herself in the kitchen dorms with her friend Ruiko Satan.
"So why do you want to make cookies, Misaka?"
"Uh… you know… for like a bake sale or something…" She said, blushing and looking away from Ruiko.
Ruiko knew that her friend was hiding something, but she decided not to press her.

A couple of hours later Misaka had made some decent sugar cookies. Misaka was beaming with pride, this was the first time she had ever baked anything and had a good result.
"Thank you, Saten." She said as she started walking to the door.
"So you're walking to the "bake sale" now, huh?" Satan said with a smile on her face.
Misaka blushed, "Yeah… I'll let you know how it goes."
As Misaka walked away, Satan had a grin on her face. She knew about girl behavior and she had seen girls look flustered, like Misaka, before.
"Looks like someone has a crush…"

As Misaka walked to the hospital, she had a conversation with herself.
"This is just a thank you gift, nothing more…"
"He will probably end up saying that he doesn't deserve any thanks… I bet that's what he says…"
" Oh no, what if he tries to pay for it-"
"What's he going to pay for?" Asked a familiar voice from Misaka's side.
A flustered Misaka turned to see Touma walking towards her on crutches.
"What are you doing out of the hospital?!" She asked.
"Oh, it's really expensive to stay there. What are you doing here? You didn't come back to see me, did you?" He said in a teasing voice.
"W-Well… I…just happened to be in the area." She said looking down, trying to hide the blush. She was struggling to find the words to express her gratitude. Touma was really confused, but he tried to help her out.
"Do you need any help… are you staging some kind of event?"
She stared at him.
"I should be asking you that, I mean, look at yourself. You are a mess."
He just chuckled, "Yeah, fighting will do that to you. Would you like to go on a walk, your dorm is on the way to my house."
Misaka was very flustered. She wasn't thanking him like she had planned. She still managed to stutter a reply to his question.
"S-Sure… I would like that." She said with a smile.

They walked in silence for a while, before Misaka asked a question.
"Touma, why did you save me? We have only seen each other a few times and the first few times it was me trying to fight you."
Kamijou's eyes widened, he had no recollection of their first meetings on account of his memory loss.
"So that's how I met her…"
"Well… I know that you are a good person, who would have done anything to save her sisters. Even if it meant sacrificing yourself." He said, glancing her way.
She looked at the floor, blushing.
"He always knows what to say…"
They arrived at Misaka's dorm and started saying their goodbyes.
"Goodnight, Misaka, thanks for walking with me." He said with a grin.
"Uh… Touma… Thank you, for everything… and I made these for you." She quickly threw a package to him and ran inside covering her face.
Touma stood, speechless. He looked at the contents of the package and smiled.
"She did come to see me…"
