Misaka was in shock at what she saw. She saw that idiot with some sort of nun girl on top of him.
"W-What's going on here?!" She stuttered, giving Touma a glare that sent shivers down his spine.
"Ah, Misaka, it's just you-"
"What is your relationship Touma?!" Shouted Index, who had gotten off Touma and was now in Misaka's face.
"R-Relationship..." She muttered in a daze that she quickly snapped out of, "We are friends." "Heh, something like that..." Chuckled Touma.
"Who are you to Touma?" Asked Misaka to Index.
"I-I owe my life to him and stuff."
Misaka sighed, "Did he save you too, without asking?" "Yeah..."
There was an awkward silence between the two girls. "Touma!" Both yelled at the same time.
"Yes?" He said, slowly rising to his feet.
"Care to explain this?" Said Misaka, with an angry look on her face.
"Who is she, Touma?!" Yelled Index.
"Ok listen, Misaka, this is Index, my roommate..."
Misaka's jaw dropped, "She's his roommate?!"
"...And, Index, this is Misaka, my friend."
Index couldn't believe that Touma had a friend that was a girl, besides her.
There was an awkward silence, until Touma spoke again.
"We can talk about this later, but right now, we have to get Index out of here. Please." Misaka's friend, Kuroko, spoke up.
"I can teleport two of you guys out of here, but my power can't support three." "That's great! Please teleport Misaka and Index out of here."
"Wait, Touma! You have to leave first!"
Touma put his hands on Index's shoulders.
"Once you get out, I want you to run to the dorm. I'll meet you there."
Index stared at Touma, he had a serious look on his face. She nodded and he flashed her a smile.
Misaka watched this conversation go down. She saw the look on Touma's face, he really cared about this nun.
He then turned to Misaka, "Please... take care of her." Misaka nodded.
With that, Kuroko teleported herself and the girls outside of the underground mall. Leaving Touma to his own devices against whoever was hunting Index.

Mid-story Author's Note:
So, I realized halfway through writing this, that in order to write this chapter I would have to introduce new characters and monsters. I don't want to do this because it strays the story from what I want it to be. So I am going to timeskip the story until after they defeat the magician's clay monster. Sorry if this upsets you, just don't spam bad reviews because of it.

Misaka's eyes were wide in shock. She had just taken on what she thought was a massive clay monster. She looked at Index who was knelt by an unconscious Touma, shaking him. Misaka hurried over and looked at the boy, remembering what happened:
He had somehow gotten out of the underground and came running toward Index and Misaka, looking like he had just gotten out of a fight. He was yelling at them while he was running.
"Index! Move!"
Misaka got the message and shoved Index out from where she was currently standing, just in time. A giant rocky hand erupted from the ground where Index was standing moments before. Misaka was shocked, especially when the hand grew into the body of a Giant clay monster. She pulled out her railgun and quickly shot it at the monster, it had no effect. Touma now stood next to Misaka.
"T-Touma, what is that?!"
"It's a long story... but it wants Index."
He rushed over to Index, who was on the ground still from Misaka shoving her.
"Index we have to run!" Touma said, a worried on his face. Index nodded, then her eyes grew wide, "Touma! Look out!"
Touma never saw the giant hand that hit him. It knocked him into the air and he fell hard on the streets.
"T-Touma!" Misaka watched in horror as he didn't move once he landed. She charged at the monster. She shot lighting at it but it was just deflected. The monster swiped at her and connected. She slammed into a pole and felt immense pain shoot through her body.
The monster was stomping towards her, ready to finish the job, when all of a sudden it stopped and then shattered, like glass. Behind it she saw a bloodied Touma with his right hand out. As soon as the monster was gone, he collapsed.
That brings us back to the present moment. Misaka had already called an ambulance and now she was sitting there with Touma's head in her lap, reminiscent of their time on the bridge. Except this time, he would not awaken to comfort her. He remained unconscious and bloodied.
She stared at his face, and she started crying.
"Why?"
"Why risk his life for the nun, or her?" "Why is he always the one getting hurt?"
She remembered the promise that she made to him, but right now she felt so useless, she was unable to help him. The ambulance arrived and took Touma to the hospital. Misaka was left alone to walk to her dorms.
Her roommate, Kuroko, noticed that something was off. Misaka was basically the opposite of how she was the last few nights.
"S-So is your friend okay?"
One glare from Misaka answered that question immediately. Kuroko noticed the tear stains on her roommates eyes. She knew she shouldn't push the issue but she couldn't help herself.
"Sissy, how could that boy be so important to you, he is a puny level zero."
The next thing Kuroko felt was a shock that rattled her bones and nearly made her faint. Then an angry whisper from Misaka.
"Don't you ever call Touma, worthless. He is more powerful than you know and he helped me when I most needed it."
Kurko was scared of her roommate when she was like this. She couldn't understand what Misaka saw in the boy..
"Not that I'm going to confront her about it again, anytime soon." Thought a limp Kuroko.
