Chapter Five

"Elizabeth!" Fitzwilliam cried.

"Fitzwilliam!" He heard the woman he loved answer.

The couple, along with Georgina turned, and the body of Wickham was on the floor. Blinking, they all turned around as the villian tried to move but he was soon stomped on by the foot of Walter.

"Stay where you are, George Wickham! You've done enough harm to destroy more than one family! You're responsible for murder as well as deception."

Turning to back, Fitzwilliam stood with his mouth, dropped open when he realized his butler, stood with a small gun in his hand, as he wiped it back to his belt as he turned and explained to Fitzwilliam.

"I give apologies, Mr. Darcy. But I'm actually an undercover police detective from Reading's Police Force."

"You?!" Georgina asked as she rose to her feet. Fitzwilliam, when the gun been fired, had George Wickham topple on him but he managed to push himself away. Wickham wasn't too injured but the gun been fired enough wound him. When Fitzwilliam glanced down, Wickham let out a moan when he tried to reach for his own weapon but he was slammed down by the Walter's foot.

"You stay where you are. Anything you say will be used against you in court."

"However did I not see this?" Fitzwilliam asked Walter.

"He's been keeping his secret concealed until this moment, sir." Replied Lillian. The woman, entered carrying Charles's Bingely's son, and when Fitzwilliam saw this, he felt Miss Bennet walk past him before she stood before Lillian. Holding her hands out, she asked.

"May I have the baby?"

"Yes, Miss Bennet. You may."

When Fitzwilliam watched this, he met the eyes of Lillian and she gestured for him to step over to her. While Walter kept Wickham down, Fitzwilliam made his way over to the cook and when the two stood beside each other, she gestured for him to take his hand out. Puzzled, Fitzwilliam did but when she placed a small box in his hand, Fitzwilliam felt his cheeks burn. Lillian nodded as she gestured silently towards Miss Bennet, who was soothing Charles's son and when Fitzwilliam spotted this, he felt his heart thump.

Leaning in, he stared at Lillian as he asked.

"You think I should?"

"Yes!" She softly replied and she gestured for Georgina to approach her. The young woman did so and it didn't help Fitzwilliam one bit when Lillian asked.

"Miss Darcy? I believe we need to be requesting the seamstress to come to measure you for a new dress."

"What-" his sister began but Lillian merely stomped on Fitzwilliam's foot and he flinched.

"Uh…" he cleared his throat… "Yes, Georgina. I believe it would be best you have a new dress."

"Come! You're on your feet and the sheriff will be coming!" Walter shouted at Wickham as he pulled the man to his feet. Noticing this, Fitzwilliam felt his anger return in replacement of his nervousness when he barked.

"And never again will you take liberties of harming those I love!"

Then everyone left and Fitzwilliam's nerves returned when Miss Bennet asked.

"Mr. Darcy?"

"Miss Bennet?" Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy began.

As he went down on one knee, Lizzy's gasp popped right out of her mouth when he held out the most gorgeous ring she'd ever seen in her life as he asked.

"Will you marry me?"

"Yes!" She exclaimed and she was mindful here, she didn't drop her sister's baby. When she stared into Fitzwilliam's eyes, the former love he had for her returned and the love she still had for him came back. As he rose, his smile made her day when he said nothing as he approached. She was carrying Charles and Jane's son when the couple gazed down and looked at the ring.

"How long did you have this?" She asked as he took it out as she gently shifted the baby a bit.

"A year, my love." Her fiancé answered.

She wasn't able to put the ring on because of the baby. Fitzwilliam caught on to this so he held his hands out. When she placed the baby in his arms, Elizabeth thanked Fitzwilliam before she gently took hold of his ring –her ring- before she placed it on her left finger. Holding it up to eye level, she let the sun's rays touch it as he asked.

"How do you like it?"

"I love it! But not as much as I love you."

"That's what I wanted to hear." Fitzwilliam softly whispered.

Then Elizabeth turned and wrapping her arms around him, she stood on tip toe as she placed a kiss to his cheek. The baby cooed between the two and when the couple glance down at him, Elizabeth asked.

"Do we have a name for him?"

"Yes. The perfect one."

"Hmm?" Lizzy asked as she raised her brows.

"Luis Charles. After St. Luis the King of England and his father, Charles Bingely."

"That is perfect!" Lizzy replied.

Then Fitzwilliam surprised her by placing his lips to hers. From the outside of the living room, Fitzwilliam heard someone smirk.

"Eh!"

"Keep your voice calm and silent and whatever you say will be used against you!"

"Thank goodness for Walter!" Fitzwilliam whispered to Elizabeth once they parted.
