Introductions

Gotham City was always a dead city. Simple as that. As many would say, it is the city that defines a power gap and corruption within the United States and showed how skewed the American Dream was.

It was the complete opposite of Metropolis which was defined as the City of Tomorrow. And there was always a looming figure there to protect the innocent, the alien from another planet who was taught to use his powers to protect the innocent.

But Gotham was different, it had a Dark Knight who looked over the streets of Gotham to punish those he deemed guilty and corrupt. And despite the Knight's best efforts, Gotham is still a city with a massive crime wave. That was the reality, with Batman's best efforts of putting the most wanted criminals behind bars, they will eventually get out and just go about with their crime. It's a never-ending cycle. A never-ending war some may say.

—Friday—

Barbara Gordon, the daughter of the current GCPD Commissioner James Gordon, was walking down the streets of Gotham. She was a 16 year-old girl who had red hair and green eyes. She was walking up to an apartment building. It was alright considering how rough Gotham was and she kept going up the stairs until she got to the sixth floor and stopped in front of room 616.

She knocked on the door and waited for a minute until the door opened. She couldn't help but smile at her best friend.

The said best friend who opened the door was a boy who was the same age as her. He was a head taller than her though and had an athletic build. He had brown hair that was naturally raked back and over to the side with green eyes. Peter Parker, a kid who used to live with his parents, then his aunt and uncle, and now himself was giving her a smile.

"Now what do I get the pleasure of seeing you here?" Peter asked with a smirk, "Did you miss me?"

"Shut up," Barbara said with a smirk.

Peter moved out of the way for her to get in the studio apartment which was well-kept. It had a TV, a computer, a dresser next to it, and a bed. It also had a bathroom and a kitchen so it was a tad bit nicer than other studio apartments, but it was still small.

Barbara made her way to sit on Peter's bed as she smiled, "I stopped by to see you."

"Really now," Peter said with a doubtful, yet amused tone, "I wouldn't have thought it."

Barbara chuckled at Peter's sarcasm as he went to the fridge.

"I recently restocked on some Coke bottles," Peter said, "do you want one?"

"Yeah, please," Barbara said.

Peter nodded as took out two bottles, one for himself and one for her. He untwisted both bottles and gave her one of the bottles of soda.

"Thanks," Barbara asked.

"Of course," Peter said as the two started drinking their soda. As he did, he couldn't help but stare at her. He remembered when he first met her as a kid and grew up to see her as a beautiful girl. She was always the popular one while Peter was known as the jacked kid with nerd tendencies. Peter was a bit awkward, but Barbara stuck by him throughout their childhood.

"Hey," Barbara said, noticing Peter staring at her, "what are you staring at?" She had a smirk as she was asking this.

Peter snapped out of his gaze and started to blush.

"S-Sorry," Peter said while shifting his attention to the TV.

It was showing the news of the crime wave being at a stagnant pace and the power struggle getting better over time. Peter and Barbara were sitting on the twin bed together as they were watching the news.

"So," Peter said, "what are you really doing here?"

"I'm going to spend the night at a friend's house," Barbara said.

"O-Oh," Peter said.

'Dammit, fucking Parker luck,' Peter thought. He looked at the time and saw it was getting late, he also had to do something so he needed her to leave the room.

"What time are you supposed to be your friend's?" Peter asked.

Barbara took out her phone and saw that it was almost 9 o'clock.

"I have to go now," Barbara said. She chugged the last few bits of the soda. Peter was now relieved as he didn't have to kick her out as he thought it would make him rude.

"You can leave the empty bottle here," Peter said, "I'll take care of it."

Barbara smiled as she handed the empty bottle to Peter who went to the recycling bin to dispose of it. He later walked her to the door. Barbara opened the door and he waved goodbye to her. Barbara smiled at Peter and waved back at him as she walked towards the ends of the hall. Peter closed the door and went into his wardrobe which had a secret compartment. The secret compartment had a black and red hoodie, a tactical harness, black cargo pants, black pants, and a black tactical face mask that if you were to put on, it would only cover your face and eyes, but not your hair.

As he put on his uniform he went to his desk and went inside his desk and pulled out a small drawer which showed wrist devices that had a nozzle in each device. He put the two on and did a rock on sign, but with the thumbs out and heard the devices click. He then heard on the phone that there was a narcotic deal happening in Downtown Gotham nearby LexCorp, which was where he was going to go in the first place. He looked to see where his phone was and shot a webline to retrieve his phone as he put on his tactical mask and put on his hood.

"Time to go to work," Peter said.

In downtown Gotham, a narcotic deal was taking place. These guys have been selling drugs to people who go around and get them to children in parks, schools, anywhere to get them addicted to the substance.

Peter was on a rooftop, he had his tactical mask on as he was looking down from a ledge perched in a familiar position. He looked down towards the wall and the distance from the roof he was standing from to the ground. He put his hand on the wall and leaned towards the wall as he put another hand on the wall and started to slowly crawl down to get a better sight of the deal that was going down. He made sure to be as quiet as possible as he was crawling down the wall within the shadow's that kept him hidden.

The dealer passed a bag as the buyer opened it and saw stuffed animals inside before cutting it open to see dozens of small bags of the pink substance.

"Pink?" The buyer asks.

"Kids love it." The buyer replied.

As soon as a whoosh was heard, the drug dealers looked up and were now trying to find what was that.

"What was that?" one asked. They were looking who or what that was.

Soon a figure quickly landed on the hood of the car. The dealers looked towards the figure and saw that it was a vigilante whom we know as Peter.

"Leave the drugs, leave the guns," Peter said, "and walk away."

"Not a chance, kid!"

As the drug dealers pulled out their guns towards Peter who shot web bullets to knock the guns out of their hands. Peter did a webster front flip off the hood and kicked one of the dealers to the brick wall, after that he grabbed one of the other dealers and pulled off a brutal body slam. Peter looked towards the remaining dealers who were terrified of Peter's brutality. Peter's eyes were narrow with anger as the dealers took out knives and tried to attack Peter who simply dodged them.

Peter knocked them out and then went for the dealer who was in his car and the vigilante broke the driver's window and grabbed the dealer's face and cut it with the window shards. The main dealer screamed in pain as Peter said, "If you ever touch your kid again, I'll find you." Peter said.

Peter opened the door and dragged out Hackley. He didn't hesitate to brutally stomp on Hackley and webbed him up. Peter took off a part of his mask to show his mouth and spat at the criminal's face before putting it back on.

"Fuck you," Peter said before walking away.

After Peter dealt with the narcotic deal, he swung towards his destination, LexCorp. The place responsible for the death of his parents. It wasn't LexCorp, but someone who was involved in LexCorp. Peter took out his phone to look over the schematics of the building so he could find an entry point into their records.

Peter noticed that there was an air duct on the south end of the building that could take him to the records. Peter went to the south end of the building by getting on the wall from the east end and crawled to the south end and down towards the vents. He pulled the duct and got in while closing it with his foot. He started to crawl along the vent that directly led to the records room. When Peter got to the records room, Peter looked down the vent and saw that it led to the records room and Peter gently opened the duct and gently dropped to the ground. The records room contained a lot of files that made Peter mentally groan.

This was going to be a massive search.

Peter walked along the files and stopped until he found the letter P. He started to rummage through the files until he found the last name, "Parker," and started to search for Richard.

As Peter managed to find the file that said, "Parker, Richard." Richard Parker, his father had supposedly disappeared when Peter was 5 years old and it has been 11 years. He never knew why until he was bitten by a Spider on the field trip to LexCorp in Gotham.

He took it out and started to read the project that he was involved with. Project Spider which was led by him and another individual who goes by the name of Norman Osborn. Peter has heard of Norman Osborn, he is the CEO of Oscorp which was always doing a lot of partnerships with WayneTech. He took pictures of all of the files so he could keep a record of them. He started to flip over the pages and soon saw a flash drive that led to Peter taking the drive and putting it in his pockets. Just as he was putting the files away, he felt his head buzz and looked to where the buzz felt the strongest. He heard the door open so he quickly put the file on the shelf and jumped to the ceiling and got into the vent.

Peter stayed in the vent to see who it was and saw that it was indeed the CEO, Lex Luthor. Peter was quick to get out of the building. As he got out of the building he got on another rooftop and started to look over the files he took the photos of. He read over them and saw that it was meant to create the perfect spider that perfectly replicated his abilities, excluding the organic webbing. But it didn't make sense due to the fact that his father burned down the lab in Gotham. Was it possible that Luthor managed to make an extra lab with the lab notes that he and Osborn had. Not to mention, Norman left LexCorp a year before the disappearance of Richard Parker.

Peter sighed as he needed answers and he was going to get them sooner or later.

—Saturday—

Peter was dressed in khaki jeans and a red flannel with a black t-shirt underneath as he walked to Oscorp and saw the massive towering building which was over a mile away from LexCorp. Peter opened the door to get in and saw the receptionist.

"Hello," he said, "how can I help you?"

"I came to see Mr. Osborn," Peter said.

"I'm sorry, but unfortunately Mr. Osborn is busy right now," the receptionist said.

In a meeting room, a man with red-brown hair which was greying was sitting beside a man who was younger with black hair and blue eyes.

"What do you say, Mr. Wayne?" Norman said, "Do you want to go through with this business plan?"

"It shows promise," Bruce Wayne said, "let me go over it and I'll get back to you."

The two men got up and shook hands and Bruce Wayne left the meeting room. Norman left the meeting room as well and sat down on his desk in his main office and drank some water as he was looking on his computer for any emails. He started to hear a commotion in the hallway outside the main office.

He got up and opened the door to see that a familiar young man with brown hair and green eyes was pushing his way through the other security staff. Norman made his way towards the commotion

"Oh Mr. Osborn!" Peter said, "I need to talk to you!"

"You can't talk to the boss!" one staff member said, "You don't work here, kid!"

"I'm sorry," Norman said, "But I'm swamped with work, take care."

Norman started to walk away and go back to his office as Peter started to scream as a last result.

"Wait," Peter screamed, "I'm the son of Richard Parker!"

Norman stopped and looked back to see Peter and saw how much he resembled Richard.

"Peter?!" Norman asked in shock.

Peter nodded as Norman turned to help Peter.

"Let him go!" Norman said, "I'll take care of this."

The security let Peter go and walked off as Norman helped him up. He had a good look at the boy who was now slightly taller than him.

"It's been over 10 years since I last saw you," Norman said, "I used to visit your father and your mother. Last I heard, you were living with your Aunt and Uncle. How are they?"

Peter looked off to the side, "They're dead."

Norman started to feel sad for the boy who was now alone.

"I'm sorry," Norman said, "How are you getting by?"

"I'm a photographer for the Gotham Gazette," Peter said, "Doesn't pay well, but I gotta make due."

"Well if that's the case," Norman said, "come work for me and you can get compensated well to support yourself."

Peter's eyes widened at the offer as he nodded.

"I would love to, but I would like to talk to you about something also," Peter said.

"I need to know about Project Spider?" Peter said.

Norman started to have a grim expression. He looked around and made sure that no one was nearby. He closed the door and locked it as he sat at his desk.

"Take a seat Peter," Norman said, "As this is something I have to tell you."

Peter sat down as Norman started to explain the whole story.

"It all started when your father and I were college friends," Norman said, "We had a proclivity for genetics and ranked top of our class. Rivals, but yet best friends. Our performance in college got the attention of Lex Luthor who hired us to do cross-species genetics. We chose Spiders and soon made a breakthrough to make the ideal spider, Araneus Lexcopeus, our genetically modified spider, but soon things within LexCorp started to happen and Richard wanted me to quit. I saw the terrified look on his face so I did. And soon after, I saw the news that he and your mother died in a plane crash. I now understood why he wanted to leave, so I wouldn't be in the middle of this."

"Do you know what LexCorp wanted to do with the spiders," Peter asked.

"I'm not sure," Norman said, "Last I heard, the lab was burned down."

Norman looked at Peter and saw a determined face and knew what he was thinking. He put a hand on Peter's shoulder, "I know what you're thinking, you're thinking there may be extra labs, but there isn't. And for what it's worth I'm sorry."

Peter nodded as Norman got up, "Come on, let me give you a tour, since you're working here I would like to show you how things work around here."

Peter followed Norman as they two went down to the lower levels of Oscorp, he was able to see through the glass elevator and saw that it contained a laboratory filled with young interns.

"Welcome to our teenage internship program," Norman said as they were walking out. He was giving Peter a tour of the whole place, "this is where we bring in young teenagers to learn and thrive in Oscorp. We have a science department with many divisions and a business department where we have our young aspiring teens who want to become executives of their own company or ours."

Peter nodded as they walked further into the Science Department.

"So which division are you trying to aim for?" Norman asked.

"Uhh," Peter said, within the moment he had the perfect idea to get into the engineering division so he has access to more upgrades to his web shooters and possibly create his first suit. So he went with it by then answering engineering.

Norman nodded as he and Peter walked to the engineering division. As the two were walking they stopped to meet another teenager who was around Peter's age and looked similar to Norman.

"Peter, this is my son, Harry," Norman said.

Harry stuck his hand out for Peter to shake and Peter didn't hesitate to do so.

"Nice to meet you," Peter said.

"You too, man," Harry said.

"Harry," Norman said, "would you mind getting Peter set up with some tasks and after that, he can leave whenever he wants."

"Sure, Dad," Harry said.

Briefly after Norman left, Harry looked to Peter.

"C'mon," Harry said with a smirk, "lemme give you a tour."

After a tour, Peter and Harry ended up hanging out at a nearby cafe. They found out they had a lot in common, love for technology and wanting to do some good for Gotham. The conversation the two had gave Harry an idea.

"Actually," Harry said, "are you down to do something with me? It could possibly get us in trouble with the authorities, especially with Batman."

"Really?" Peter said with a smirk, "Trouble is my middle name."

Harry gave Peter a confused look, "Is it?"

"No it's Benjamin," Peter said.

Harry chuckled as he patted Peter's back, "Just messin' with ya."

Peter was chilling in an alleyway at night. He was wearing a black sweatshirt with a black t-shirt underneath, black tactical joggers, and a pair of black sneakers. He had a black sling bag that contained his phone and web shooters in case of emergencies. Peter didn't have to wait long until Harry arrived wearing similar attire to him as well as a similar bag.

"You ready?" Harry asked.

"Ready for what?" Peter asked.

Harry smirked as he started to run off, "Hope you know parkour. Let's see if you can keep up."

Harry started to do a vertical wall run that was opposite to a ledge and started to climb up. Peter just sighed as he started to follow Harry. If he wanted to, he could've just crawled up the wall, but he didn't want to reveal his powers to Harry.

As they were on a roof, Peter looked at Harry who just smiled.

"Follow me," Harry said as he put on his hood. Before he started to run off, he took what seemed like a grapple gun out of his bag and gave it to Peter.

"Take this."

"Thanks."

Peter put on his hood as he followed Harry and they started to jump from rooftop to rooftop until they stopped to see a petty crime happening.

What Peter and Harry were witnessing was two robbers trying to rob a couple. Harry jumped down before Peter could do anything.

"Gentleman," Harry said.

The two robbers looked to the hooded Harry as Peter slowly descended down to the ground.

"Why not leave this couple alone and deal with us in their stead?" Harry suggested.

Peter's Spider-Sense kicked in when he saw the two robbers dug their hands in their pockets which made Peter do a flying knee, knocking one guy out and making him fly to a wall. While the other robber was distracted, Harry did a powerful spinning 360 kick, knocking the other guy out.

"Nice," Peter said.

"I can say the same with you," Harry said.

The two looked at the couple and nodded as they grappled up the building and landed on a rooftop. They explored the city and took care of petty crimes.

The two were now on a rooftop and were eating snacks. Peter brought some protein bars and gave one to Harry so he wouldn't be hungry.

"This has been fun," Harry said.

"Yeah, doing work that Batman, Robin, and Batgirl do on a night before school starts sounds like a bright idea," Peter sarcastically remarked.

"I mean yeah, but c'mon," Harry said, "this is fun. We can really help out the people of Gotham this way if we keep doing this."

"What about Batman and—"

Peter stopped what he was saying as he saw the Batsignal being shined.

"Look Harry."

"I see it too," Harry said, "let's go see what's up."

Peter looked at Harry and smirked, "Let's go."

A/N: That's all folks! I am going to rewrite the story and give Peter an origin story that led to Peter becoming Spider-Man. He already has his powers, but it was through LexCorp. I took inspiration from The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and Peter's main mission is trying to find out why did LexCorp wanted to use the spiders for weapons.

The voice actors is as follows:

Peter Parker - Josh Keaton

Harry Osborn - Max Mittleman

Also I want to say sorry, I've been honestly procrastinating and have been playing a lot of video games, primarily 2K, AC Valhalla, and Star Wars: The Old Republic. My updates may possibly be inconsistent and I would just like to let you all know that I'm okay!
