WoL's POV:
I looked off into the purple mist of the Alpha scape that Omega created and sighed. I was awaiting my next match up with a creature from a fairytale.
"Erebus! we got confirmation of your next opponent, mostly uses brute strength and maybe some magic, nothing you can't handle on your own" my friend Cid Garlond of Garlond Ironworks said as he handed me an Allegan Tomestone with the information on my next fight
I quickly skimmed over it looking through the enemies' backstory before I closed the object and handed it back to Cid. I then stood up and stretched my ears twitching and my tail stiffening before relaxing.
"Alright, let's get this done with" I said as I walked to the edge of the platform and saw a portal open
Steeling my nerves I jumped off the edge towards the portal. Just as I was about to hit it, the light blue circle vanished and I continued to fall. I just stared up at the retreating platform in complete shock. I turned around expecting another portal but only saw the quickly approaching blackness that was the Abyss between worlds.
I just closed my eyes and awaited my end. I thought of my friends that had given their lives for me up until this point and I smiled at the fact I'd be joining them soon.
'Do not give up blessed child, persevere...' the voice of Hydaelyn said to me causing me to snap my eyes open
I noticed a cocoon of white energy around me, similar to when Lahabraea forced the ultima weapon to use the spell Ultima. I continued to drift through the darkness, occasionally noting that specs of white in the distance were moving ever so slightly. Eventually the minutes turned into hours and the hours blended together until I had completely lost track of how long I had been going.
As I was thinking I'd be drifting forever a spec of light slowly got bigger. I turned my attention to the slowly growing light and had to squint as it came hurtling at me. I raised my arms to brace for any impact when I suddenly felt a blast of fresh air hit my face. I opened my eyes and saw a vast ocean below me and I felt the effects of gravity take hold as I plummeted towards the surface. I briefly noticed a few specs on the water before I got too close and impacted full force.
Third Person POV:
The demi-humans of Luralona were enjoying a nice clear day. fishing was good, children were playing. Everything seemed right in the world. So when a man on the docks yelled in alarm and pointed to the sky, there, a small crack in the sky had appeared and everyone looked up to see a figure flung out of it before plummeting head first and colliding with the water's surface. The crack in the sky had vanished leaving everyone scared and confused.
"We need to see what was flung into the ocean, come on" One person said as she
jumped into the water turning into an orca and swimming over to where the figure had landed
Once she reached the location she dived deeper to see a male cat demi human sinking. Shifting back she grabs the boy and swims to the surface where a fishing boat. Her and a few other fishermen pull the boy onto the ship where they immediately try to get the water out of his system only to find that he was breathing fine.
"Well... that's an interesting development." the woman stated as she looked the man over
He wore a black leather longcoat, with a black and grey tunic, black pants, on his forearms he had a pair of leather vambraces with blades attached to the outside of them, around his neck he had a crystal like necklace, and he also had a pair of black boots on. his hair was black with white tips. Suddenly the man's eyes tightened as he felt around his coat and pulled a pair of tinted sunglasses out and put them on.
"Hey, your awake! how are you feeling?" the woman asked and he looked up. She could see his eyes but they were in greyscale.
"Fryd tet oui cyo?" he said simply
The woman recoiled slightly at the completely foreign language.
"Can you say that again?" she said confused
"E tuh'd ihtancdyht fryd oui'na cyoehk." he said again before slowly standing up and looking around
Erebus' POV:
I looked around the small ship and sighed.
"Strange land, strange people. Fantastic" I muttered under my breath as I looked at the woman in front of me "Excuse me, could we get to shore?" I said while pointing at the land nearby
She nodded and asked the other people to get us to shore, at least that's what I assumed she said. She then turned towards me with an inquisitive look and I nodded showing her that I'd try to answer her questions.
We sailed back to shore and I started looking over the edge a small part of me wanted to whip out a fishing rod and start fishing. Excitement of what new and interesting aquatic life that might be found here made me anxious to start. Sadly I turned away from the water and looked at the woman.
We attempted to communicate using various methods however acting out what we were talking about seemed to be the most effective despite it being long and tedious. Eventually we made it back to shore and I disembarked from the boat. As soon as my feet hit the sand a stroke of panic surged through me as I checked my waistline only to find a small bag full of small items.
I pulled the bag off and looked in it to see all of my soul stones. Sighing and relaxing I tightly tied the bag back onto my belt and played with my aetheryte necklace. I felt a tap on my shoulder and the woman was there motioning to a rope then made to tie it to s post before handing it to me. I nodded my head and expertly tied the rope to the docks. My time in the fishing guild finally paying off.
I spent the next few hours helping the fishermen unload their boats and using any tools given to me I helped mend their equipment. I could see the looks of surprise on their faces but I just smiled and helped the fishermen. Eventually the woman from before walked up to me and handed over a small bag. I took it and shook it to hear the sound of coins.
I just shook my head and handed it back. I helped because it was the right thing to do to repay them for picking me up. However, the next time I was given payment I'd happily take it. The woman just laughed and slung her arm around my shoulders and led me into the town. There were a group of villagers who welcomed me into the village and I smiled and waved at them.
Eventually we reached a house that looked like it was a fishermen's house. There were nets on the side harpoons and fishing reels as well as cages for other types of aquatic life. The woman pat me on the back and explained in our way of communication that I could sleep here for a few nights and longer if I kept helping the fishermen. I simply nodded and walked inside.
She showed me around and showed me a bed made of furs and other items. I chuckled and laid down for the night, not expecting this kind of hospitality but I guess some people were nice enough to give you a roof over your head…
At that thought, the memory of Haurchefant entered my mind and I let my eyes drop.
'A smile better suits a hero' he said to me before he passed… ill have to keep smiling for him.
I put on a small smile and tried to get some sleep. Work would start in the morning as I had some other things to take care of.
