AN: Hey everyone, I have a special chapter for you here. So, I really enjoyed Re: Zero Season Two and like making Re: Neo leading to its release. With it, I knew I wanted to come back to this series in some way. One idea was to do IF chapters of what the story would be like if Neo did not restart on some loops. However, most of those felt too depressing for me to write and I did not want to do that. Then, I thought for a while and decided to do this. For my Re: Zero and RWBY crossover, the Re: Neo arc will be the prologue to the main story of this Fanfic. The main story is called Re: Mnant, which is just remnant with the Re: Zero naming …it is a working title. In it, this extra-large chapter would be the kickoff chapter to that series proper, which covers a lot of stuff for this storyline, shows off some new characters, and gives hits at a lot of future details. Hope you enjoy this chapter, leave a review with your comments and questions, and have a nice day.

At a Vale coffee shop, the members of team RWBY sat at a table. Ruby carried four beverages in her hands, passing one to each of her teammates, "Okay, vanilla iced coffee for Weiss." She said with the white heiress taking the drink, "Unsweetened tea for Blake." She said with the black cat faunus with accepting hers, "Hot chocolate with extra foam for Yang." She said with the blond brawler smiling as she took hers, immediately taking a sip, "And an expresso for me." The red hooded girl said with a smile before taking a few sugar cubes to drop into the coffee.

"I'm starting to wonder if your speed is a semblance or a side effect," Weiss commented.

"Hey, this is the only way I can drink coffee," Ruby said before taking a big sip of her beverage.

"I don't know if it is more coffee or sugar at that point." Weiss responded, "They say you are what you eat, but I guess what you drink counts as well."

"You're saying that with what you ordered?" Yang said with a smile, having a slight milk foam mustache from her hot chocolate, causing the white heiress to look on with half-open eyes.

"In any case, we are gathered here for a special meeting," Ruby declared after finishing her expresso, "What are we going to do this break?"

"Well, we don't have many options." Weiss said before crossing her arms, "I mean; the White Fang has been pushed out of Vale, the group that was planning to ruin the Vytal Festival was stopped, and even Grimm activity is at an all-time low."

"Yeah, no search and destroy missions available like before." Yang said before cleaning the milk foam mustache, "I guess we could get summer jobs to make a little extra lien. I've been eyeing a nice set of new wheels for Bumblebee."

"What do you think you would do?" Weiss asked before taking a sip of her iced coffee

"Hey, I have skills." Yang responded, "I can go to the Club and get the owner to make me do something: bartender, bouncer, DJ. I can probably get all of us set up there with something."

"I don't know about that," Ruby asked, "I mean, none of us are old enough to drink."

"Especially you," Weiss commented back, then turned to Blake, "And you've been quiet as of late. Do you already have plans?" she said with the black cat faunus putting down her tea.

"Sort of," Blake said while looking down at her cup, "I want to go back to Menagerie, to visit with my mom and dad." She said while looking at her reflection in the plastic of the cup, "So much has happened, and I haven't seen them for so long. But…I'm still a bit scared to return." She said while putting her hand to her head, feeling the bow that hid her faunus cat ears, "If you three don't have plans, would you-"

"Of course." Yang responded with a smile and a wink, "Thanks for the invite."

"I'm shocked it took you this long to ask." Weiss said with her arms crossed and a slight scoff, "You do remember that we are a team?"

"Yeah, we always got your back," Ruby said before standing, "It is decided, Team RWBY is going to Menagerie!"

Blake looked at her friends with slight shock at their immediate response, but then had a slight smile form, "Thank you."

"Right, we need to do some preparation before leaving." Weiss responded, "We should research the area a bit before packing."

"I heard the place has gorgeous weather." Yang responded, "Maybe I should buy a new swimsuit."

"Let me see," Ruby said as she took out her scroll, "I think I can look up the island and see how we can-" suddenly, the red hooded girl had a look of dread, "Oh no."

"What is it?" Weiss asked, but her partner was speechless.

"No plane tickets available?" Yang said with a grin forming, "I think we can just rent a boat." However, she saw her little sister's expression worsen.

"Ruby?" Blake asked, "What do you see?" She said before she and the others member gathered behind Ruby, seeing the article she just pulled up.

Menagerie Set Ablaze.

"W-what?" Yang commented, "Set ablaze?"

Weiss began to read the article, "The island of Menagerie was the victim of a sudden terrorist attack by an unknown group. Homes were set on fire and the number of confirmed faunus casualties has reached the thousands with no known survivors so far." The white heiress continued to read as she placed her right hand on her forehead, "No correlation to the White Fang organization as the cause has been found. The whereabouts of the Chieftain and his wife are still a mystery." She, Yang, and Ruby then turned to Blake, who was hyperventilating, "Blake?"

"I-I," Blake before quickly standing up, "I need to make a call!" She said before sprinting out of the coffee shop.

"Blake!" the three other members of Team RWBY called out, but the black cat faunus did not hear them.

Blake continued to run until making it to an alleyway. While catching her breath, she took out her scroll and began to dial a number. In holding the device to her head for a few seconds, she was given an automated voice message, "Hey Dad, it's me, Blake." The black cat faunus answered, "I know I haven't called you in a while, I've just…. I made some bad choice after I left." She said before forcing herself to smile, "But, I've made some good ones now, as well as a bunch of friends I wanted you to meet. So, please call me back…. I Love you." Blake said before hanging up and dialing a new number but was meet with a similar automated voice message, "Hey Mom, I just tried to call Dad too. I saw what happened on the news and I wanted to make sure you and he were okay and… I'm so sorry for how things went the last time we talked." She spoke with tears running down her face, "Call me back. I love you…I love you both so much…please, tell you both made it out safe." She said before hanging up the call, causing tears to fall onto her scroll. She then turned around, seeing her team standing by with worry in their eyes. Suddenly, Blake's tears ran more than before as she fell to her knees, "AAAAAHHH!" She whaled in agony as her team hugged her. "AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!"

Re: Mnant

A while later.

Outside of their room, Weiss and Ruby waited as Yang opened the door from inside, "She's resting right now." The blond brawler said while closing the door behind her, "I think she cried herself to sleep."

"I can't blame her," Ruby responded, slightly looking down, "When we found out about our mom, I think I did the exact same thing."

"Yeah," Yang responded with a nod, then her eyes turned red for a second, "Who could have done this?"

"Not the White Fang, that's for sure. Reports have been listing members as among the casualties." Weiss commented, her arms crossed, "Even as a counterplay to win favor against humans, the amount of deaths caused in this raid is too high." She said before a sigh, "The Faunus population is now a fraction of what it used to be in the world."

"That's insane, all from one attack!?" Ruby commented, then having an idea, "You don't think it could be the people Cinder worked with. I mean, I took her down with Neo when and I used-"

"Your special eye powers that Ozpin said not to use again unless absolutely necessary." Weiss finished, "I don't think she did this, the Atlas General took her away with Mercury and Emerald. He has then locked up where no one can find key."

"Well, no way to ask any of them for intel." Yang responded, "I tried getting ahold of Junior to see what he knows, but it looks like he skipped town with the twins."

"Uh," Ruby spoke up, "What about…Adam?"

"What, are you insane!?" Weiss responded.

"Yeah, that creep has been in a cell since I dropped his frozen ass in there." Yang responded crossing her arms, "He can rot in there for all I care." She said before turning to Weiss, "Isn't your sister the one overseeing his imprisonment?"

"Yes," Weiss responded, "I bet he is not too happy about that."

"I know he is a jerk, but maybe he-" Ruby tried to speak but was cut off.

"No, he is not an option!" Weiss responded in slight anger, "And there is no way he will want to talk to any of us."

"He won't," Suddenly, the group turned to the door to their room opening, seeing Blake walking out, "But he'll talk to me about this."

"Blake," Yang said in worry, "Are you sure?"

"Ruby's right, Adam may know something about what happened to Menagerie." Blake responded, "At this point, he is our only option."

"I already told the others; I don't think the White Fang is the cause of this?" Weiss countered.

"And I agree," Blake said in response, "I think they're going to be targeted next." She said with Weiss gasped, "How long until you get your sister to set up a meeting with him?"

"I-I'll call her right now and see what she can do," Weiss said as she took out her scroll and stepped aside.

"Thank you," Blake responded, then turned to see Yang put her right hand on her shoulder, "It's okay, it'll be fine."

"I know, 'cause I'll be there with you in case he tries to do something creepy," Yang said with a smile and wink. "We'll all be there. You know you aren't doing any of this alone."

"Yeah, we're Team RWBY after all!" Ruby added on, "That means we stick together."

"Yes," Blake said with a slight smile forming, "I'm grateful to have you three in my life." She then turned to see Weiss reenter the group, "What did she say?"

"He was already questioned and didn't give any information." Weiss said before smirking, "Which is why she was able to get us a few minutes to talk to him privately." She said before opening the door to their room, "It will be a video conference, so we'll need to head to the communications tower in about an hour. In the meantime, let's do some prep work." The white heiress said before seeing the others nod. Weiss then entered the room with Blake and Yang following.

Ruby was about to enter before realizing something, "I should maybe call Sun to let him know what happened." She said before taking out her scroll, "He might be able to also talk with Blake and cheer her…eh?" the red hooded girl said as she continued to scroll through her contacts, "Why is his number not in here anymore?" she said before noticing a few more names were gone, "Neither is Neptune. I don't have anyone from there team here…. huh? I don't have Velvet and her team either?" She said before seeing Weiss walk out to check on her leader, "Hey, did the Scroll have an update that deleted a bunch of your contacts recently?"

"No," Weiss said before putting her hands on her hips, "But how many times I have told you to back up your data?"

"Uh, too many." Ruby said with giggles before putting her scroll away, "It's okay, I'll figure it out another time."

A short while later.

In a far-off corner at the top of the communications tower, Team RWBY gathered in front of a monitor with Blake taking the seat. Suddenly, the feed opened with the White Fang Swordsman sitting inside a cell. He looked up at the black cat faunus, no mask to hide his branded eye. Yet, he chuckled upon his introduction, "Well, hello Darling."

"Adam…" Blake responded with a cold gaze.

"I assume you are not here for a normal visit," Adam added on, then we met with Yang leaning into frame.

"You better stop with that sick attitude of yours before I -" Yang threatened with her red eyes but stopped as Blake put her right hand on her shoulder. The blond brawler looked back at her partner in shock, then took a breath. In blinking, her eyes returned to lilac and moved back to the others.

Blake then looked back to Adam, "You already know what happened to Menagerie, do you?"

"Yes, it was brought to my attention." Adam responded, "Our kind suffered a heavy loss in our eternal battle." He said with a grin forming, "And you know, you're parents would still be alive if you have stayed by my side."

"…" Blake looked on with a colder gaze before exhaling, "Who did this?"

"Oh, you want revenge. I see," Adam commented, "Sadly, I do not know the exact details."

"But you know something." Weiss said with her arms crossed, "You need to start talking."

"I have nothing to say to you, Schnee. Nor did I to your elder sibling," Adam responded to Weiss with a scowl, then looked to Yang, "Nor this thick-skulled blond." He said before looking to Ruby, "Nor this toddler."

"Hey, I'm almost sixteen!" Ruby countered.

"Adam, who did this to the faunus?" Blake asked again, "Please, tell me."

"Hehehehe, I knew I could get you to beg." Adam said with a chuckle, "After our last mission together, the White Fang allied with a human group bent on the destruction of the four kingdoms."

"So, they are the ones who did this?" Blake asked.

"No, not them. As you know, they were crippled in their plans back in Vale." Adam responded, "But before our assault, I was informed by Sienna Khan that a new threat was emerging. A Cult." He said with the four girls listening, "The members being individuals of unspeakable powers, nothing like what you have seen."

"Where did this cult come from?" Blake inquired. "And what do they want with killing innocent lives."

"I do not know the answer to the second question. But regarding the first, the world is not as small as you think," Adam said with a grin, "Even the most informed people do not know of this unimaginable secret." He said while closing his eye, "What we know of as Remnant is but one side of the coin."

"Stop with the cryptic garbage and tell us what we want to know!" Yang responded.

"No, but I know where you can find more by yourself." Adam said while looking to Blake, "It is one of your favorite hobbies, second only to running away from what is important. It will tell you where any survivors of the raid had gone, which may include your parents."

"I said, enough of your bulls-" Yang said as she was about to shout again but was stopped by Blake.

"I understand, Adam." Blake responded, then bowed, "We will be ending this call now."

"I see, I will be here then." Adam responded as he leaned back in his cell, "And Darling, do me one favor." He said before a look of rage-filled his eye, "Kill as many of them as you can for what they did to our brothers and sisters."

"…" Blake did not say a word, but simply closed the video. The rest of Team RWBY looked over, seeing the black cat faunus wipe tears away from her eyes, "I never wish to do that again."

"And you don't have to," Yang said as she patted her partner on the back.

"Still, you understood what he said at the end?" Weiss asked.

"Yes, I do." Blake responded, looking forward as she stood up, "We need to head to a certain bookshop."

A short while later.

The four members of Team RWBY gathered near in front of a closed bookstore. The windows were boarded up and the sign was removed, "You…sure this is the place?"

"This was owned by Tuscan, who once worked for the White Fang as a middleman for information." Blake answered, "Since he knew I was coming to Vale, he mailed me a set of keys to watch over the store. Sadly, I don't think he ever got to leave the group as I did." She said before walking to the door of the building, taking out the key, and using it to open the door, "With the store abounded, nobody was going to take all the books left behind."

"I see," Yang said as she followed Blake inside, seeing all the shelves of books, "…This might take a while."

"Yeah," Ruby commented, taking out her scroll, "Maybe I can call someone on Team JNPR to help."

"No, don't you remember." Weiss commented, "They are tackling a village guarding mission." She said before entering, "Even with Grimm activity low, people still feel safer with a couple of hunters and huntress protecting them."

"Yeah, we can tell them when they get back," Ruby said before entering the bookshop as well.

A few hours later.

The night began to fall over Vale as the four girls still in the bookshop. At one end, Ruby and Yang sat near each other as they flipped books. The big sister let out a sigh as she finished another book to add to a pile, which the little sister's eyes were half-open as after she yawned, "Hey, you okay?" Yang asked with Ruby slightly shaking herself back awake.

"I-I'm up," Ruby responded, then looked to the side of the store. Blake and Weiss were examining the other half of the books, but their section was near twice the size of the two sisters, "They are a lot better at this than we are."

"Yeah, and I still feel like I read more here than in all the classes at Beacon combined." Yang said with a giggle, taking another book, "But, we need to do this, for Blake."

Ruby nodded before she took another book as well, then had a thought come to her mind, "Do you think her parents made it out?" she asked in a hushed voice.

"I hope so," Yang responded, "If they are out there, we'll find them. Or…we'll at least give her some closure." She said before with a look of focus in her eyes as she flipped through the book, "I mean, I already have a lot of experience looking for a parent. Just not a lot of successful results." She said with a slight giggle, then sighed, "If only I had a photo of my mom, or knew her name, that would help a little bit."

"Yeah-" Ruby said before she realized something, "Wait, what are you talking about? Don't you have-"

"Everyone, come here!" Weiss called out as she gained the rest of the team's attention. Each member stopped with what they were doing and rushed over to the white heiress, "Look at this book," she said while showing the title, "The Four Kingdoms on the Opposite Side of Remnant."

"Well, that somewhat lines up with what Adam said," Ruby commented, "What else does it say?" she said before Weiss opened the book, quickly skimming its contents with the others looking on before their leader spoke up again, "Uh, what is this writing?"

"I can't read this either," Yang added, "It's in a completely different language."

"It will take time, but I think I can figure it out," Blake commented.

"This is unreal," Weiss responded while flipping through the pages, then stopped at an image the made her gasp, "This is a detailed map of kingdoms not like the four we have."

"But look at this geography," Blake pointed out, "There are mountains, but they wouldn't protect the kingdoms from Grimm like ours would."

"Are we sure this is a real map," Yang commented, "I mean, I've role-played with people that have made pretty convincing settings?" She said before Weiss flipped through the book more, "Still, whoever did this put a lot of content into the world for a book that was just rotting here." The blond brawler then looked to a nearby stack of books, "You pulled it from here, maybe these other ones say something we can understand."

"Good idea, we'll take them back to Beacon with us." Blake responded, "No reason to stay here all night." Said with a nod before she picked up some books from the pile.

Yang nodded back before talking a larger stack with her hands. Weiss followed the two while examining the map again. Ruby was close behind but stopped upon seeing a thin book left from the stack her big sister had picked up. The red hooded girl took this book, seeing the cover depict what looked like a black dragon. She followed the rest of her team with the book in hand, then closed the door to shop for the last time.

The next day.

The sun rose over Beacon Academy, as the members of Team RWBY reach gathered for a meeting, "Morning," Ruby said with a yawn, "Was not prepared for us to do an all-nighter when I woke up yesterday." She said before looking to her other teammate, "So, what did you all find?"

"Sorry, not much on my end," Yang answered.

"I was able to figure out some of the languages of this book," Blake responded, "But it's still hard to understand." She said before looking to Weiss, "Anything else from that map?"

"Yeah, something big." Weiss said as she opened her book to a certain page, "This place in the woods shows a lot of people with faunus traits." She said with the others looking in closely, "It could be the place Adam mentioned."

"If I am translating this right," Blake said as she looked at the section of the text, "This place is called Sanctuary of Kremaldy."

"Well, that name kind of gives it away then." Yang commented, "How do we get there?"

"I did some digging and found this." Weiss said as she pulled up an image of Remnant's topography, "As Blake said, these mountains don't look like they protect the kingdoms' against Grimm like ours do." She said before inputting a command in her scroll. Suddenly, a hologram of two maps appeared, "But that doesn't mean these aren't the same mountains. It was just a matter of finding where they overlap." The white heiress said before the images began to contact at a certain mountain range, "And there we go."

"Wow! Weiss, you're a genius!" Ruby praised as Weiss lifted her head high with a smile.

"If this is true, how come no airships have spotted the kingdoms?" Blake asked.

"I guess we'll find out when we cross over." Yang responded before looking to Weiss, "What is the best way for us to get to this mountain range?"

"It's not that far from Vale, we could almost fly there if we have an airship."

"Sweet," Yang said with a smile, "I'll pick out the ride and take the driving role."

"Oh, I call shotgun!" Ruby called out.

"If we pack only what we need, we can leave tonight." Weiss said turning back to Blake, "Then, you can see your parents again in just a few days."

"You don't know how much that would mean to me." Blake said with a smile, then slightly looked down at her trembling hands, "When I got the news, I felt so alone and just…want to run away again. I want to find them, but I know I can't do this by myself and-"

"And you don't have to." Yang said as she patted Blake on the back, causing Blake to look up at her smiling, "We'll be here to help whenever you need it." She said with the black cat faunus smiling back.

"None of us will abandon a friend," Weiss added on.

"Yeah," Ruby continued in cheer, then saw something in the corner of her eye out the window. "Oh, an airship is landing. That must be the one with Team JNPR back from their mission."

"We should at least say goodbye to them before we go," Weiss said before standing up.

"Right, leave them to hold the fort down while we're away," Yang said as she stood up as well, followed by Blake and Ruby.

The four girls exited their room and made their way to the landing platform. However, as they approached, a grim realization came to their minds. There was no Team JNPR on the airship, only their team leader who walked with tattered armor and clothes that were stained with his blood. He hobbled down the ramp before collapsing, "JAUNE!" Ruby called out before she rushed over, catching him before his body could hit the floor, "W-what happened to you!?"

"Ruby…" Jaune said before coughing blood, "I'm…so sorry."

The other girls soon rushed over, "What did this to you?" Weiss asked, "And where is the rest of your team?"

"It was…my fault." Jaune said as tears filled his eyes, "I thought it was…harmless." He said while extending his right hand, which the girl now saw was missing over half its fingers, "Suddenly…. there we so many…. we couldn't take them on." His tears then flowed like a river of sorrow, "First it was Ren…then Nora…" He said before the tears mixed with his blood, "I thought I was going to be next…but Pyrrha pulled me out. She tossed me into the airship and sent it far away… leaving her alone….it should have been me."

Team RWBY was left speechless at his words. Blake bowed her head in remorse. Weiss's eyes widened as she had her hand over her mouth. Yang gritted her teeth, her fists clenched, and her red eyes showing a hint of tears forming. Ruby was the first to speak up, "T-they're dead!?" She responded in shock, "W-what did this?"

"It was…the RRRRRRAAAAA!" Jaune was saying before his body suddenly convulsed in agony, "RRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAA!"

"JAUNE!" Ruby panicked but then felt Weiss and Blake grab her shoulders.

"Ruby, get back!" Weiss said as she and Blake pulled her away from Jaune.

"RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAA!" Jaune screamed as something was pulsating from under his chest plate, as if trying to break out, "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-!" he whaled in agony before his amor broke, causing something to burst out of his chest.

Emerging was a small rabbit with a horn on its head. While covered in blood, parts of the body still showed its white fur. Jaune's corpse was motionless, but the creature still gnawed at his flesh. However, it soon caught the gaze of Ruby, Weiss, Blake. The rabbit then leaped towards the three, its teeth ready to chomp. However, Yang intercepted the creature in midair, punching it in the skull. The rabbit rocketed back into the airship at high speed, slamming into the metal frame before splattering into mush. The blond brawler's breathing was sporadic before she turned to the others, "We need to call the headmaster."

A short while later.

At the head office of Beacon Academy, Team RWBY sat before Ozpin at his desk with Glynda at his right side, "You say it was a rabbit that emerged from his chest." The headmaster asked, "That is quite the horrific image, I am sorry your four had to see that."

"That thing, it was not a Grimm," Ruby spoke, her eyes still trembling, "It didn't disintegrate, it was a flesh and blood animal."

"I see," Ozpin responded, then turned to Glynda, "Close off the area Team JNPR was sent to and investigate this creature with the utmost caution. If the need should arise, inform General Ironwoods to make sure this creature will never harm anyone again." He said with Glynda nodding, then looked back to Team RWBY, "I am sorry for the loss of your friends, we will inform their families of what has happened."

"Thank you," Ruby responded with a bow.

"What of Jaune's body?" Weiss asked.

"After the autopsy report is done, it will be brought back to the Arc family for a proper funeral." Ozpin answered, "His time here was short, but he was one I could see becoming a great hero." he said while hanging his head low. Then looked to Team RWBY, "The four of you may return to your room, we will handle everything else from here."

"Yes sir," the girls said before each getting up and walking into the elevator.

Ruby press the button, but the others were still silent on the way down, "I can't believe this..." the red hooded girl spoke, "Jaune…Nora…Pyrrha…. Ren…They're all gone."

"In the line of duty, this can happen to anyone." Weiss responded, "Winter told me that when I first told her I wanted to be a huntress. But I always thought there would be more time for all of us to hang out before things got serious." She said while hugging herself.

"And Pyrrha, she won the tournament," Yang responded, her right hand on her forehead, "If she lost to a bunch of rabbits, just how many were there?"

"Considering what we saw one do," Blake added on, "I do not wish to think about it." She then turned to Ruby, "What do we do now?"

"I…I don't know." Ruby responded, "We should pay our condolences, but we might be too late finding this Sanctuary before the people that attack Menagerie do."

"I understand," Blake said as the elevator reached the bottom level, "I'll head towards Sanctuary, the rest of you can meet me there." She spoke while walking out.

"No, I didn't mean for us to split up!" Ruby responded, but Blake did not break her stride, causing the red hooded girl to sigh.

"Don't worry," Yang said as she patted her little sister on the back, "I'll talk with her. Worst case scenario, I'll make sure she doesn't do this alone."

"Going on in groups of two, that might be for the best we can do now," Weiss responded.

"No, we should stick together." Ruby responded, "It's just, I get why she wants to make sure her parents are still alive. I really do!" she said while looking down in remorse, "If there was a chance my mom was still out there, I would do all I could to find her."

"Yeah, I just don't get that feeling as much as you do." Weiss responded, "The only family I ever had was my sister. No mother or father, or even a younger sibling for me to look out for."

"…Eh?" Ruby responded.

"Yeah, it was basically just me, Ruby, and Summer for the longest time." Yang added, "I don't know how we managed the way we did after she passed away."

"EH!?" Ruby exclaimed, "What are you talking about? What about our dad? Or Uncle Qrow? Or Zwei!?"

"I mean, Summer never mentioned our dad that much. Just that he was with my mom for a short while before you were born." Yang responded, "But, who is this Uncle Qrow?"

"Or a Zwei?" Weiss added, "It sounds ugly."

"No, he's an adorable corgi. You meet him!" Ruby slightly shouted, "And Weiss, your whole reason for wanting to become a huntress was to honor your family name after your father ruined it in the company."

"Ruby, what are you saying?" Weiss responded, "It's true that my family's company is in bad shape under current management, but I don't know who is running it right now. I'm training to be a huntress to make a name for myself as a Schnee before I take over the company."

"No, that's not right!" Ruby said with Weiss scowling, "I mean, you told us you have a mom and a little brother. That you wished you had bunkbeds at your house."

"Yeah, for me and my big sister." Weiss responded, "I remember my grandfather, but I never really knew my mother or father. And as far as I know, the only sibling I have is Winter."

"But!" Ruby said before looking to Yang, "Please, tell me you know who Taiyang is? Or Raven!?"

"Uh, I'm sorry." Yang responded, "Doesn't ring any bells?" She said with her little sister starting to hyperventilate, "Ruby are you okay? Maybe you need to lay down back in our room."

"I'm fine, it just…I got it!" Ruby said before having an idea. She reached into her back pocket, taking out her wallet. In opening it, she pulled out a photo and instantly showed it to her big sister, "Tell me, who everyone in this picture?"

"Well, there's Summer in her white hood." Yang answered, "And…she is the only one in the photo."

"Ha! See, you do know…What?" Ruby pre-cheered before realizing what her sister had said. In turning the photo around and looking at it for herself, her eyes widened in horror. The woman in the white hood was seen, but she was alone. Despite the apparent open space, nobody else was in the frame of the shot, "W-what is happening!?" Ruby said with her hands trembling, "Am I-"

"Everyone, get out here!" the three girls turned to the call of their fourth teammate. Weiss and Yang rushed out as Ruby quickly glanced at the photo, then put it away before followed. They meet up with Blake, who pointed in the distance. "The rabbits are back!"

"Oh great, how many of them are the-" Yang said before seeing a horde of thousands of rabbits rushing towards then, "What the-"

"Weiss, barrier!" Ruby called out with the white heiress quickly creating a white glyph. Suddenly, a wall of thick ice blocked the approaching horde from reaching the girls. However, they heard ice being chewed as the red glowing eyes of the creatures shined through the barrier, "Platforms, now!" Ruby called out as Weiss now created a few black glyphs, which the four girls each leaped to before the ice barrier broke. From a safe height, they looked down at the rabbits swarming underneath them.

"This is insane," Yang commented, "How are we supposed to beat that many of them?"

"They're heading into the building," Blake pointed out, "We need to warn the Headmaster and Glynda!"

"Right," Ruby said before turning to Weiss, "Can you lift the platform to the top floor."

"Of course," Weiss responded before focusing, causing the glyph to carry them up like an elevator.

However, Blake's ears suddenly flickered as her eyes widened, "Look out!" she said before the others gasped. Suddenly, a stream of white energy passed through the top of the building, followed by an explosion. The top floor began to fall towards Team RWBY.

"WEISS!" the other called with the white heiress quickly moving the glyph out of the way. They watched as the top floor crashed into the ground level, smashing many of the rabbits. However, more soon began to swarm around the area.

"What hit that just now!?" Yang said while looking around the area, "It came out of nowhere?"

"I don't know, but it is not safe here." Weiss said before turning to Ruby, "What do we do?"

"We-" Ruby was saying, but Blake cut her off.

"We need to get back to our room at Beacon." Blake said, "Get the books, and then take an airship to Sanctuary."

"You want to abandon Vale!?" Yang responded, "We have to fight back to save the people, not run away."

"Don't say that to me!" Blake slightly shouted back, "How are we supposed to fight that! It's more than any other horde of Grimm I have seen in my life!"

"She's right," Ruby commented as she looked down at the rabbits, "This is different than what happened after the train bombing, or even during the Vytal Festival" She said before turning to the others, "But we still need to fight back, it's what any huntress would do." The red hooded girl said before focusing, "Don't worry I have a plan."

"Of course, you do," Weiss said with a sigh.

As the rabbits were attempting to chew their way into the debris of the top floor, their ears flicked up at something hitting the floor, "Hey!" the rabbits turned to see Ruby standing nearby, "You want to take a bite out of a rose?" She taunted before the rabbits flared their fangs, "Then come and get me!" the red hooded girl said before sprinting off, leaving a trail of rose petals behind. The rabbits screeched before all chased after the red hooded girl.

After a few seconds of silence, the rest of team RWBY descended from the glyph platform. They then started sifting through the rubble. Suddenly, Weiss gasped, "I found Glynda!" she called with the others quickly gathering, each helping to pull a large stone that pined her lower torso.

"What…happened?" Glynda said as she started to regain consciousness, a river of blood pouring from her skull.

"Vale is under attack, the rabbits that killed team JNPR are here." Weiss quickly informed, "But something else destroyed the top of the building. We need to move and-" The white heiress said before a loud explosion was heard. The group looked over to see the Communications tower topple in the distance, "Call for help..."

"Where is your leader?" Glynda said as she stood up, still holding her head.

"She is luring the rabbits away into an open arena and then will-" Blake said saying her ears flicked, causing her to gasp. She then looked over to her right, "Someone's coming!" They turned as well to see a man clad in white attire walking towards them. His disheveled hair was also white, but his eyes were cold amber brown. On his right ear hung a blue tear-shaped earring, "Who are you?" Blake asked as the mysterious man stopped before them.

"When you want to know someone's name." the mysterious man responded in an unamused voice, "It is common courtesy to give yours first?" he then sighed, "However, this is my first time in one of these kingdoms. We should be on equal footing as far as building a relationship goes."

"Wait," Weiss responded, "Are you the one that brought the rabbits here."

"…I was not done with my topic yet." the mysterious man commented, "But, it was that fool that brought the rabbits to this kingdom."

"Does he mean Jaune," Yang responded, "But I killed that one inside him!"

"It is not wise to finish a person's thought for them, as you make too many assumptions." The mysterious man responded, "He did not have just one eating away at his body. That idiot was better off letting the whole horde devour him than to lead them directly to this kingdom." He said with the three girls gasping as he shrugged, "To suffer a long and pointless death and doom the lives of so many people. Truly, what a pathetic waste of-"

"You bastard!" Glynda said before drawing her riding crop, then waving it. Suddenly, the debris started to lift high above their heads, "Do not insult my students' life!" she declared before dropping the debris on the mysterious man, who did not attempt to dodge as he was cut off mid-sentence. Glynda was slightly out of breath before turning back to the three girls, "All of you, meet back with your leader. Inform the academy before evacuating the Kingdom."

"But what about you?" Weiss asked.

"I'll be fine," Glynda responded, then looked over to see the rubble over the mysterious man begin to move, "Just go!" she ordered before reposing with her riding crop. The three girls remained speeches for a second before nodding, then ran off. Glynda watched them leave for a second before closing her eyes, "Please, be safe." She said before hearing an eruption of the debris the entombed the mysterious man, who had not even a scratch on his body when the dust settled.

"I was in the middle of talking," he spoke now with a scowl on his face, "That is a violation of my right to speak!" he said as Glynda gritted her teeth, ready for their battle to begin.

Meanwhile.

Running down the freeway, Ruby had sweat dripping from her forehead. She glanced back to see the horde of rabbits behind her. "I think I have them all now. At least, I hope." The red hooded girl said before quickly turning around. She skidded on the souls of her boots before looking directly at the hoard, "Please work, please work, please work." She prayed while shutting her eyes. Just as the horde was about to swarm and devour her, Ruby opened her eyes with a silver glow.

In the distance, the three girls saw a pillar of silver light erupt into the sky. "That's where she led them, it should be where we fought Roman in the Paladin before." Weiss commented before turning to the others, "I'll make sure she's safe."

"Let me go." Yang offered. "I have Bumblebee parked nearby."

"No, if the road is blocked, I can get over it a lot quicker with my glyphs." Weiss responded, "You two take the bike and quickly get to Beacon to warn them."

"Okay, will do." Blake added, "Stay safe." She said with the Weiss nodding, causing her to turn left as the others went right. However, in the shadows, someone grinned as it began to follow the white heiress.

Meanwhile.

Pushing himself off the debris, Ozpin regained consciousness, "What…What happened?" he said while holding his bleeding head, his vision slowly coming back. However, the first thing he saw the mysterious man stomping his right foot on the back of Glynda's skull. The headmaster's eyes widened as he saw no light within those of the professor.

"Well, she put up quite the fight," the mysterious man said as he noticed Ozpin, but was still looking down at Glynda, "A shame, if not for her mouth, she would have made a beautiful wife of mine."

"You!" Ozpin said as he quickly found his cane nearby, "Who are you!?"

The mysterious man sighed, "I have already explained the rules once today. But I will grant you this, as your last request." He said before turning to Ozpin with a smile, "Sin Archbishop of the Witch's Cult, representing Greed. Regulus Corneas." He said with Ozpin remaining speechless, "It does not surprise me that you have not heard of us." Regulus sighed "She said you were rather ignorant to the whole world."

"She?" Ozpin said before gasping, "Wait, are you referring to Sal-"

Suddenly, a new voice spoke, "No. She has already been delt with." Ozpin turned to see who was speaking. Standing gracefully on a large pile of rubble was a small girl in only a white silk robe with blue ribbons. Her hair was platinum color, and her half-open eyes were sky blue. Her skin was so smooth and luminate that even a god would hesitate to touch her. She looked down at Ozpin with a small smile, "Ozpin choose not to reincarnate upon his next death, knowing that his eternal enemy was gone as well. He let his soul fade away into nothingness."

"W-what did you just say!?" Ozpin responded in shock, "How did you-" suddenly, he remembered Regulus, who saw holding a hand full of dirt. The headteacher put up a green aura barrier as the Sin Archbishop of Greed tossed the dust towards him. However, the dirt was moving at high-speed, ripping through the barrier and into Ozpin's body, "AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH-!" Ozpin screamed in agony before his body suddenly evaporated into a red mist.

Regulus smirked as the platinum-haired girl hopped off the debris, looking at the red stain with a smile, "May he find peace now that his story is finally over." She said with tears running down her face. However, she soon turned around and walked away with Regulus following.

Meanwhile.

Weiss made her way to the underpass, quickly scanning the area for any more rabbits. Suddenly, she gasped upon spotting her partner laying on her back. The white heiress quickly cradled Ruby in her arms, the red hooded girl's silver eyes still radiated an aura, "Come on, don't do this to us." Weiss pleaded, "Wake up!"

"…. Uh?" Ruby said as she was barely conscious, "Weiss?"

"Yes, it's Weiss?" the white heiress reconfirmed, "You did it, I don't think those rabbits are coming back."

"Hehe, I didn't think it would work on them?" Ruby said with a half-smile, "But I got lucky."

"You were ready to sacrifice yourself for all of us to get out, won't you?" Weiss said with a Ruby giggling, then passing out again, "You're such a dolt." She said with a sigh, "In any case, we should-"

"Ah…" a new voice moaned, causing Weiss to turn her head. "I keep eating and eating, but it's never enough!" she looked over to discover a small person with dark skin and a purple skintight leotard with a bloodstained draped around his back. He was weaponized with pink daggers which were strapped to his arms. "I eat, I devour, I chew, I bite, I gorge, I gnaw, I munch, I crunch." He spoke with razor-sharp teeth, his long brown hair covering one of his green eyes, "Pure gluttony!" he spoke before moaning again, "Ah, thank you for this feast!"

"Who are you!?" Weiss said with a cold scowl.

"Sin Archbishop of the Witch's Cult, representing Gluttony," he spoke before stopping, "Lye Batenkaitos!"

"Witch's Cult?" Weiss said before recalling Adam's words, "You're the group that attacked Menagerie!" She said before standing up, "And you're the one that brought those rabbits to Vale!" the white heiress then clenched her fists, "Why?"

"I was testing this land's potential. I have fought many of these Hunters or Huntresses, many who lived a extraordinary life, but they have only given me a palate of what it is like here." Lye responded, still smiling, "I wanted to see if any of them could kill a beast like the Great Rabbit." He then pointed at the red hooded girl, "And to my shock, that girl did it!" the Sin Archbishop of Gluttony spoke with his grin widening, "That experiences, truly will be a feast unlike anything I have tasted before."

"You psychopath!" Weiss coldly responded as she took out her scroll, "I won't let you get a step closer to her," she said before her looker landed nearby.

"Oh?" Ley responded, "And who are you again?"

"Weiss Schnee, Heiress to the Schnee Dust Company," Weiss said her locker opened to eject her Myrtenaster, "And a proud member of Team RWBY!" she said before reposing with her rapier.

"Ah, what mettle!" Ley moaned before he charged in at high speed. Weiss responded by creating a yellow glyph on the ground, which her opponent stepped on. Suddenly, an explosion erupted and sent the Sin Archbishop of Gluttony in the air, but he still smiled, "I might just fill up on you alone!" Ley said as Weiss fired icicles at him, but they were parried by his daggers, "Such focus, such determination, such grace, such skill, such elegance, such confidence!" He said before a large pillar formed, which the Sin Archbishop of Gluttony blocked by crossing his dagger, "Ah, yes!" he moaned as Weiss ran up the ice pillar. Ley rushed downward for the clash with his mouth open to chomp. As Weiss readied her rapier to plunge into his gullet, her mind flashed to all the moments she had at Beacon Academy, with the last image being that of her partner's goofy smile. Suddenly, only darkness was seen. "Thank you for this meal!"

The next day.

"Ruby…Ruby?" the red hooded girl heard her name called as she slowly regained consciousness, "Please, wake up!" she opened her eyes to discover her older sister, who then hugged her. "Thank goodness!" Yang said with tears in her eyes, "I was so worried!"

"Yang, I'm okay." Ruby responded as she hugged her sister back, "But where am I?" She said while examining the area, soon seeing the black cat faunus walk up.

"You're in the Beacon infirmary." Blake answered, "We brought you here after finding you unconscious." She said before sitting in a nearby chair next to Yang, "You did it though, you stopped those rabbits."

"Thanks," Ruby responded, but then saw a melancholy look on the black cat faunus' face, "What is it?"

"Ruby, they all followed you at one point." Yang responded, gaining her sister's attention, "But, those things must have attacked earlier than we thought."

"W-what?" Ruby said in shock.

"When we got back to the academy, we were the only ones here." Yang clarified, "Nobody else was left; Professor Port, Oobleck, not even Cardin and his team."

"B-but?" Ruby said with her eyes trembling, "I led it away from the populated areas?"

"Ruby, we tried for hours to find someone else in the kingdom." Blake responded, "All we got was silence." She then looked down in remorse, "We went back to where Glynda was…but all we could do for her was a proper burial." She said before wiping the tears from her eyes, "And the headmaster, all we found was a pool of blood on the ground."

"I'm so sorry," Yang responded as her eyes looked down with tears in her eyes as well, "The only people left are the three of us."

"…and Weiss." Ruby said as she turned Yang, "Weiss is alive, right?" she said with the blond brawler having a look of confusion, "I saw her with me after I took care of the rabbits. Why is she not here?" the red hooded girl asked Blake, who also did not have a response, "Please don't tell me that she's..."

"Ruby," Blake answered, "Who are you talking about?"

"Yeah," Yang added, "Who's Weiss?"

Ruby's eye widened in terror, her mouth hung open in dread at those questions, "No, you're joking right?" she asked her big sister, "Not her, it can't be with her now too." She said before looking to Blake, "Who is my partner I made when I came to Beacon?"

"You didn't have one," Blake answered, "Since you were Ozpin's recommendation, all you had to do was pass the entrance exam to be put on a team with your sister and me."

"But?" Ruby responded, "What are we called then?"

"Team RBY," Yang answered, "The U is just implied."

"No, the U is a W, for Weiss!" Ruby shouted, "Come on, she is white as snow in her dress and hair, a scar over her eye, and is a member of the Schnee family."

"I thought they only had that one girl in the military with that family name." Yang commented, "But, who you described does look familiar."

"Yes! You are starting to remember?" Ruby said with a smile, but then looked over to see Blake get up. The black cat faunus then pulled back on a nearby curtain, revealing the occupied bed that a white-haired girl was sleeping in, "Weiss!" Ruby said as she quickly got up, then started to shake the person in the bed, "Come on, wake up and tell these people your name!?" the red hooded girl pleaded, but to no avail, "I-I don't get it? Why is she not waking up!?"

"We don't know. We just found her body near yours." Blake answered, "She's not dead, but she is not waking up. This is more than a coma." The black cat faunus said as she looked down at the white-haired girl, "It's like she's frozen in some kind of suspended animation."

"Well, she does kind of look like the ice queen type." Yang commented as she looked at the white-haired girl, then turned to her little sister, "Still, you're saying she was on our team?"

"Yes, and she still is." Ruby responded, "Maybe one of the other kingdoms knows how to fix her, like Atlas." She said with Yang and Blake looking on in remorse, "What?"

"…Atlas has fallen as well." Blake informed, "All four kingdoms of Remnant are no more."

"At around the same time as Vale, the others were attacked and destroyed." Yang added, "Even Atlas with its military fell to an unforeseen attack, confirming the death of its general."

"But, what about Weiss's sister, Winter?" Ruby asked.

"It's unclear about the Schnee member of the military and her status, we only knew about the other attacks from rechecking logs before the communication tower collapsed." Blake responded, "But, considering the patterns, I do not think even she could make it out of this."

"Ruby, we have been talking a lot about what our next move should be," Yang said before she and Blake looked at their team leader, "What is your call?"

"…" Ruby did not have a quick answer, taking a short breath as she closed her eyes, "…We're going to Sanctuary." She said while opening her eyes, "If anyone is still alive, that's where we'll find them." She said before looking back to the white-haired girl, "And we're taking Weiss with us. Somebody there might know how we can reverse this and get her back to normal."

"Okay, it's decided then." Blake responded, "Let's head to our room and pack up what we need."

"I can carry her." Yang said as she picked up the white-haired girl in a piggyback position, "If you say she is a friend, that's good enough for me."

"Thank you," Ruby said with a smile forming. The girls then exited the infirmary and made their way down the halls of the silent academy. Upon reaching their room, the door opened with Ruby slightly gasping.

"What is it?" Blake asked.

"Weiss's bed is not here either." Ruby commented, "Neither is any of her stuff." She said before placing one of her hands on her forehead, "None of this makes sense." She said before taking another breath, then lowered her arm. She and the others then packed their belongings that they could carry.

They then carried what they could out to the open landing area, see an airship still operational. Ruby and Blake placed their books down in one corner, while Yang rested the white-haired girl on one of the benches, "I don't think we can fly this thing with Bumblebee on it." The blond brawler said before looking to the others, "I left the keys in my bike anyway. If someone is alive, and they have a quick way out of here of if needed." She said before sighing, "I'll make a quick run to see what food we can take from the cafeteria before taking off."

"I'll check the armory for any extra dust we can use." Blake offered, then looked to Ruby, "We already got our weapons from our lockers. You should make sure you have yours too."

"Okay, I'll stay here to make sure Weiss is safe," Ruby responded, causing the other two girls to nod before leaving. The red hooded girl then took out her scroll, quickly entering the code to call her locker. While it landed within seconds, Ruby was still on her scroll looking through her short list of remaining contacts, "Dad…Uncle Qrow …" she said while seeing none of their numbers, causes tears to drip onto her device. However, she then looked over to the sleeping white-haired girl, "Weiss, I promise." Ruby said with her teary eyes filled with determination, "I will save you." After retrieving her weapon and waiting for her teammates to return, the airship started to take off. With it, the four girls left the world they once knew and started making their way towards another.

Chapter 11: The End of Remnant and The End of the Beginning

AN: There you go, Remnant gets destroyed. While Re: Neo did end with the good guys in a better spot, this one messes over a lot more character thanks to the Witch's Cult coming in to cause chaos. In it, so many characters were either killed or forgotten. Grimm activity started to die down because someone killed Salem, and that same someone also led to Ozpin dying for good as well. Basically, outside of some exceptions, the only people left are Ruby, Blake, Yang, and…. I can't remember her name. Regardless, they are on a quest to answer the cause of all this suffering and find a way to save this white-haired girl. I don't know when I will come back here for more, but I do like this concept for the series going forward. That is all for now, thanks for reading, and hope to see you in the next chapter.
