Chapter 43

"Urgh," Yamato's nose wrinkled.

"What's wrong?" Ace asked, munching on his apple.

"The clothes for the wedding came through," Yamato said.

"Not more kimonos," Ace groaned.

He got up from his seat to head to Yamato's side by the bed. Yamato hummed, holding up a suit.

"Not kimonos surprisingly. Suits. You got a nice orange shirt."

Ace grinned. "Oh thank god. Because I might have had to set whatever he gave me on fire."

"Unfortunately neither of us are allowed access to fire at the moment. Kaido knows exactly what you would do with it, 'Fire Fist'," Yamato teased.

"Dammit," Ace sighed.

"You can tie your hair back actually," Yamato said, already smoothing out his strands. "It would look very smart- Oh..."

Ace blinked. "Oh?"

"Ace, tie your hair up around Marco when you next see him," Yamato ordered, eyes bright. "Trust me. He'll love it."

Ace flushed, but tilted his head, frowning. "Whenever I see him again."

"You will one day," Yamato soothed, kissing his forehead. "You're mates. You will never stop searching for each other. Right now though you have to protect the baby first, so you can't go running off to reunite with him just yet."

Ace rested a hand on his stomach, and couldn't help but smile. "Yeah. My baby... I still can't believe Marco and I are having a baby. Teach threatened to impregnate me this year, and yet he never managed to. Marco did... Not that it was deliberate of course." Ace wrinkled his nose. "I drank that disgusting medication so many times."

"So you had the medication but not proper conception pills beforehand?" Yamato mused. "Huh, surprised you still managed to become pregnant though. Usually the emergency stuff does the trick. Guess you're either pretty fertile or Marco's seeds are strong."

Ace's cheeks burned. "This is such a weird topic."

"It's just the human body."

"Nope."

Yamato laughed. "Don't start being shy. Besides, you still haven't told me about your night with Marco. Like if he's big-"

"No!" Ace cried, laughing. "I'm not talking about it."

His Omega protested at the idea. Because apparently they should be showing off their Alpha. Ace swiftly kicked that urge away, because he was not talking about Marco's dick to anyone apart from Marco. And maybe a doctor if he ever needed to.

"It's such a good topic though! Is he rough, or is he soft and gentle-"

Ace plugged his ears with his fingers. "LA LA LA LA LA! I'M NOT LISTENING!"

It ended up with the both of them screaming at the top of their lungs, Yamato yelling dirty questions and Ace screaming anything to drown out the questions. Their Omegas fluttered, their scents intertwining, enjoying the entertainment and the excitement. It wasn't long because they finally settled down, laughing away.

"So..." Yamato drawled, eyeing him mischievously.

Ace snorted. "Nope." Ace tilted his head. "Whose wedding is this anyway?"

"Not sure. All I know is that it's another one of Big Mom's children." Yamato grimaced. "Kaido actually has been refusing Big Mom's proposals to marry me into her family and join ours together properly for years now. He's threatened to kill her several times over it."

"Kaido confuses me," Ace admitted. "He's apart of the Omega oppression, but when it comes to the Omegas in his gang-"

"We get to do mostly what we like, as long as we rank highly. Or are one of his children, of which, there is only myself." Yamato frowned, staring out the window. "Hopefully this wedding goes through nice and quickly. That way we can get through the tea party, and then get out of there before Kaido gets drunk."

"He's always drunk."

"True."

Law flipped another page over. Again. He had done nothing but read for ever since he had been locked up in this damned bedroom. There was nothing else for him to do. Baby-5 had been kind enough to bring him crossword puzzles, but Law always solved them far too quickly. His father brought him books, but Law was getting bored of reading.

Something he never thought possible.

But being trapped in a room with the same four walls all around him was driving him insane. No matter how many times one of the family members visited him and distracted him, he was bored. Completely and utterly bored.

He paused when the bedroom door opened. The one sign of freedom. Doflamingo shut it behind him again, holding a set of clothes in hand.

"Here is your clothes for the wedding, Law." Doflamingo sat them down on the bed.

"Surprised you're even letting me out this room," Law drawled.

He was trying not to act like he cared. But his Omega betrayed him. It left out a desperate smell, and it made Law's blood boil, despite how hard he tried to keep his face perfectly calm. His father's scent brushed across his, surprisingly soft and understanding. It didn't sooth Law though. He understood but still kept him locked up.

Doflamingo sighed. "Someday soon, Law. But right now this is for your own safety."

"Oh yes," Law scoffed, turning round on his seat. "Because it just kills you inside, doesn't it? For me to be with someone you don't approve of. For me to make my own choices, and not blindly follow your whims."

"If you had mated to someone worthy-"

"It's not your place to decide if the person I wish to mate to is worthy. Kidd is my choice, and I'm his. And if someone gave me the option to restart my life? I'd make that choice again."

Doflamingo shook his head. "As always, Law. We're going around in circles. I will never accept him. People like him? They are losers, and will never amount to anything in life. You are my son, and you have so much ahead of you. I want you to be safe and happy. And someone with power and influence would give you that."

"Kidd is the leader of his own gang-"

"A tiny gang out of East Blue with one base to speak of," Doflamingo dismissed. "It's not impressive, Law. You could do better, but you leave your gang out of sight so I can't touch them."

"Haven't found them yet?" Law asked sweetly.

He felt his father roll his eyes. "No. No I haven't. Now, I haven't said much about the wedding, but it's tomorrow at twelve o'clock. Big Mom doesn't like late arrivals so we'll be heading off early tomorrow to make sure we get there in time."

"I'd rather stay in this room." Law leaned against his chair, crossing his arms.

"Too bad, you're on the guest list. You know what happens to those who don't turn up," Doflamingo warned, frowning heavily.

"I'll be gifted the head of someone I care about," Law sighed.

"If she gave you that red head's she'd be doing all the work for me," Doflamingo chuckled. "But I'd rather not risk it being anyone else. So you're coming along."

Law grunted. "Then lets hope everything goes smoothly so she doesn't throw a damn tantrum again."

"Fufufufufu, agreed." Doflamingo stared at him, tilting his head. "Not curious as to who is getting married?"

Law raised an eyebrow. "Should I be?"

Doflamingo chuckled. "It's an Omega friend of yours."

Law tried not to stiffen.

"Vinsmoke Sanji."

Law twitched. "Sanji's a Vinsmoke? And Big Mom's marrying him off of all people?"

"Fufufufu, shocking isn't it?"

Law smirked. "Actually, she's fucked up big time."

Doflamingo frowned. "Nobody outside of the guests know of the wedding, Law. That's why the invitations were handed out so late. Straw Hats won't realise Sanji's being married off until it's too late."

"For one thing, the Straw Hats are some of the luckiest people I have ever met." Law couldn't help but feel gleeful, because Luffy was going to fuck up this wedding. "For my second point, Zoro-ya and Sanji-ya are both possessive over each other. Big Mom is going to have a hell of a time trying to ruin that relationship. And lastly, if she thinks Zeff won't attack her for this, she is dumber than she looks."

Doflamingo smirked. "Agreed."

Law startled. "Excuse me?"

"She is an idiot. A powerful, emotional idiot. But still powerful nonetheless. The only reason she has remained in power is because of her children at this point. Katakuri is the real strength behind the Charlotte Family now. And that is why we remain on their good side. Despite the Donquixote Family's alliance with Kaido."

His father laughed. "She thinks she can lay all the blame on the Vinsmokes, who were of course supposed to kidnap Sanji, like they've tried and failed to do before. But Zeff is a clever man, and has many connections. He may not have figured out where his son is, but one thing he has in common with me is that we'd do anything to keep our children safe."

"So you think Zeff will be there tomorrow?" Law frowned.

"Maybe, maybe not. But he'll hear of this. There is no doubt about that," Doflamingo said. "The problem is, what will he do in retaliation? Fufufufufu, Big Mom is a lucky woman indeed, having so many strong children around her. Because Zeff is an bad man to cross. His legs might start to become bloody all over again!"

Law grimaced, but his father only laughed.

"It's going to be such an interesting year. Isn't it, Law?"

"Perhaps maybe too lively," Law said, biting his thumb nail.

It was a disgusting habit people got into. But he was getting worried. This wedding was either going to go smooth, or become a disaster.

"Oh yes, tomorrow will be an interesting day for sure," his father chuckled. "A red wedding!"

Law's blood ran cold.

"She's making a show of murdering someone. But who?" Law couldn't help but ask.

Doflamingo smiled. "You'll just have to wait and see."

Dragon stared down at Sabo who was blankly staring off into the distance. It was actually starting to freak Dragon out a bit, so he poked the Beta, but again Sabo didn't respond.

"Sabo?" Dragon called him, again.

An hour ago Sabo had been dumped on him in this zombie-like state by the Phoenix. The man's scent was all over the place, just like how Sabo's was now. Phoenix had mumbled something about a baby and hurried away.

His best guess?

Portgas D. Ace was pregnant.

There was only one thing that would have both the second in command of the Whitebeard gang and the second in command of the Revolutionaries in such a stupor. And that would be something to do with Fire Fist.

This would make the growing war between the gangs erupt into something even worse if they didn't sort this out now.

"I think I should call Koala..." Dragon grimaced. No, she was probably still pissed off with him for escaping. Hack instead then.

Hack was reasonable. He'd ask Hack to get Koala to sort out Sabo. That way Dragon could retreat in peace.
