So Rouge used to play 'Davy Jones Declares' -basically Simon Says- with the Roger Pirates whenever they were bored. When Buggy met Ace and learned he was Rouge's son, he happily taught the kid the game to pass down something of Rouge's to him.
So this has also been posted on my Fire Fist - Story Collection, but with a twist. This one actually features Rouge. When we get to Ace's part he is in Marineford, just about to face down Akainu.

"I'M BORED!" Roger groaned.
Rouge sighed. She had been enjoying sunbathing on the gorgeous deck of the Oro Jackson, but Roger's constant complaints were doing her head in. She pushed her sunglasses up, and smirked wickedly.
"I have a game we could play," she purred.
Roger perked up, but Rayleigh, oh wise Rayleigh, paled. He knew exactly what she was up to. She dismissed him though, because Roger's full attention was on her. Probably helped that she was wearing a bikini. He had been staring at it earlier, then told her how beautiful she was in it. Rouge had planted a kiss on his cheek for that compliment, before dismissing him for the sun lounger.
She tilted her head. "We could play 'Davy Jones Declares'."
"YES!" Roger beamed.
"NO!" Rayleigh screeched. "She had you jump off a mountain last time!"
"I wanted to know how high it was," she pouted mockingly. "I never got to the top."
"THAT'S NOT AN EXCUSE!" Rayleigh hissed.
"Shut up, Rayleigh!" Roger cut him off, waving him off. "Rouge's dares are the best!"
"And I believe it's my turn!" Rouge chuckled.
"It was Roger's-" Rayleigh frowned.
Rouge pulled the coin, the coin they used to keep track of their games, from her bikini top, and winked. "I think you'll find I have it."
Rayeligh groaned. "Bloody thieves."
"Rahahahaha!" Rouge laughed. "We're pirates, Ray. And I'm known as a pirate thief."
"We've got to teach our future kid this game." Roger grinned.
Rouge snorted. "Who said we're having a kid? Jeez, you're still trying to get a kiss off of me."
Little did she know that her son would be taught the game by one of the kids Rouge and Roger taught it too.
Buggy the Star Clown.

"Oi, Ace!" Buggy yelled.
Ace blinked, startled. He glanced up, seeing Buggy's upper body floating towards him. His anger on hold for a moment. He was surprised that Buggy was even near here still, Ace thought that his drinking buddy would be outta here by now.
"Eh? Buggy? You're still here?" Luffy grinned.
"It's urgent!" Buggy cried out.
"I'm a bit busy!" Ace snapped.
He had to beat the crap out of Akainu, what that bastard had just said, about Pops being a failure, Ace couldn't stand for it. Not his kind hearted father, the one who took him of all people in, and gave him a home. His father who would risk everything to protect those he loved, who cared for so many people and that so many people cared for him in return.
"It's my turn though, Ace!"
Ace blinked. "Huh? Turn for what? To fight an Admiral?"
"OH HELL NO!" Buggy yelped, shaking his head frantically. "No, but Davy Jones declares-"
Ace choked.
"Now of all times? What the hell Buggy?!" Ace screeched.
That had been their drinking game. Buggy had taught it to him after he had revealed that he knew Ace's mother, Portgas D. Rouge, who had been an absolute menace. At least according to Buggy.
His mother apparently used to play it with Buggy, Shanks and the rest of the Roger pirates, when the pair had been apprentices. The thought had originally annoyed him, but Buggy had managed to get the image of his mother ordering the 'Pirate King' about, in his head.
And he couldn't help but laugh at the thought.
Most of the time at any rate. Right now this was not the god damn time!
"Davy Jones declares that you stop listening to Akainu and get your ass to safety!" Buggy ordered.
"NOW IS NOT THE TIME, BUGGY!"
"That is a game passed down by your mother, Portgas D. Ace!" Buggy snapped. "Are you seriously going to ruin her legacy?"
Ace twitched.
"THAT'S EMOTIONAL BLACKMAIL, BUGGY!" Ace spat, turning on his heel, he grabbed Luffy's arm, and began sprinting. "YOU SUCK!"
He swore he could hear his father laughing.
Akainu tried to speak, but Ace and Luffy merely started yelling over it, Luffy laughing between his screaming.
"NOT LISTENING! NOT LISTENING! NOT LISTENING!"

"Guarararara! I completely forgot about that game." Whitebeard grinned.
Rouge had been evil about it too, at least when it came to the adults. If she was in charge she would make them do whatever she wanted, even if it was the most dangerous thing that existed, and Roger, being the madman he was, would happily obey.
Those two had given him so many headaches over the years, and here he was, going to reunite with them.
That made him want to live for another few years, because by the Seas, those two were the worst. He loved Rouge, he wanted her as his daughter, but no. Her and Roger together just ended in mayhem.
At least they gave him Ace though.
