The past few days have been manic! I really did not think I would have a chapter but I finally finished it and I hope you'll enjoy the latest instalment of this fic. I have just seen that I have some messages to reply to and I promise I will get back in touch I just haven't had time these past few days and I apologise.

Gabriel Agreste was unsure of what to do. The voice in his head had told him to detransform, take off his Miraculous, retrieve the peacock pin from the safe and willingly hand them over to the Parisian heroes.

What the hell was going on?

So far he had only managed to drop his transformation before he stopped and thought how he could use the heroes' presence to his advantage. However, the voice of Emperor sounded through the connection and Gabriel found himself thoroughly chastised. He stood staring into nothingness and stroked his Miraculous thoughtfully: how would he ever be forgiven for the terror he had plagued the city with; wold Adrien be affected?

He sighed sadly while thinking over the different scenarios that giving up now would accomplish. 'I do not believe it is as simple as you make it out to be,' the cornered man explained to the voice in his head, 'you make it sound so easy yet-'

"Yet you have no reason to trust me," the voice was no longer in his head, but had come from behind him. Spinning quickly on the spot and readying himself to call on his transformation once more, Gabriel stilled as the person let his transformation go instantly. "Yet now you have seen who will be the future holder of Nooroo."

"Who are you?" Gabriel tried to seem demanding and intimidating in his deliverance of the question, but his step backwards and fearfully widened eyes gave him away. The green butterfly released the connection and flew back to Hugo who quietly whispered to the tiny creature before it departed from their company and Gabriel could not help but become intrigued with the boy and his still active vessel.

The dark haired teen chuckled. "I am your grandson, from the future."

"Wha-I-"

"I know why you are doing this, and I know the pain you are feeling at not having her with you, but I have been sent here with a solution to bring her back." Hugo's green eyes shone with positivity as the young man smiled at Gabriel's searching grey orbs.

"How is that Akuma still powered up?"

Hugo smiled and shook his head fondly, "of all the questions you could ask, that is the one you chose to lead with."

Gabriel gaped and stood with disbelief as Hugo walked towards him with a hand outstretched.

"Come on Grandpa-"

"I-"

"-we have loads to talk about before Grandma can be revived," Hugo stilled for a moment, "oh, and you needn't worry about the company, Auntie K is more than happy with how things have turned, will turn, out." He rubbed his head as one Nooroo marvelled at the other, "this time travelling business is starting to give me a headache. I'm Hugo by the way, I'm your favourite." He beamed proudly before pulling a speechless Gabriel along behind him.

Gabriel numbly allowed this young man, Hugo, to lead him up to the foyer where he was about to come face to face with his masked foes. He did not give much thought to how familiar the boy was with the layout and workings of his lair; how easily the teen guided him through his office; or how he had first entered his lair so easily for that matter. The young man was talking but Gabriel was paying him no attention as his mind was solely focused on one thing:

'He has Emilie's eyes.'

Before Gabriel could fathom what was actually happening, he was face to face with a faint looking Nathalie, a tearful Adrien, and a soothing dark haired teenager that most definitely was not Kagami. The aged designer was unable to place her, but one thing he did notice:

There were no polka dots or cat ears in sight.

For some reason, Nathalie was repeatedly muttering apologies into thin air while the teenage girl held onto Adrien's hand while his green eyes bore into those of his father's. Gabriel felt a chill wash over his body and suddenly Hugo's voice interrupted his thoughts.

"... of course you know my papa."

It hit Gabriel.

Like an eighteen-wheeler truck.

The man's steps faltered.

"Y-you-"

No one said anything as the aged designer fell to his knees.

"It's… you."

Gabriel shook his head and a warm hand rested on his back as he felt Hugo kneel beside him. The young teen spoke quietly but everyone could still hear, even as Nathalie continued her mumbled "sorrys" into the otherwise silent room. "It will take time but the healing can start now. The next part of this is on you, Grandpa, and I have seen the wonderful way our family pulls through this, but for that to happen, you need to be the one to act."

Gabriel looked up from the floor to see fresh tears rolling down his son's face and made to get up. The feeling had gone completely from his legs but the man made sure to stand on both feet before stumbling over to his son. Adrien's limp but opening arms welcomed him, as the two Agreste men fell into the warmest embrace they had shared since Emilie Agreste had no longer been present at the dinner table, and there were no words, just tears, as they collapsed together.

Marinette and Hugo stood off to the side allowing them to have their moment together, the young woman gesturing for Nathalie to join them so she could check on the older lady's mental state. It had been a shock when they dropped their transformation once Kagami had been put into her vehicle outside, and the mortified assistant immediately began apologising. Nathalie had not relented either when they attempted to placate her and explained that they would be bringing Emilie back; in fact, it just got worse. And now, the mumbling had not subsided and Marinette was concerned for Nathalie.

"Don't worry," Hugo nudged her, "Nathalie will be okay."

"She's still mumbling like mad," Marinette whispered back as she pulled the ashen woman to sit on one of the seats by the staircase, "I think she's in shock."

Hugo snorted and Marinette glared at him with disapproving disbelief which immediately shut him up. Her son cleared his throat, "yeah, don't worry, she just knows there's going to be some uncomfortable questions coming her way when Grandma wakes up."

"Wha-never mind." Marinette shook her head, "Miss Sancoeur, can I get you some-"

"Brandy," the dark haired woman blurted out, "Gabriel's office, second shelf, third from the right. Here's the key." Marinette found a small brass key thrusted into her hand and looked at it with no clue of what she should do. Luckily though, Hugo was on hand and took the key with a tap on his nose and Marinette had to wonder where the shy and bashful classmate she had come to know had gone. "I can't believe this is happening," Nathalie breathed out, bringing Marinette to focus solely on her.

The ravenette knelt down next to the woman who had covered her face with her hands. "It will all work out, I promise."

The dark haired woman continued to shake her head hopelessly, "no you don't understand," she sat up straight and rubbed her hands up and down her thighs while steadying her breathing. "I swore to Emilie I would be loyal to the end," worried eyes connected with confused blue, "I betrayed her, and I do not think I can face her again."
