Aithusa dragon daughter of Merlin

"I'm a father." "Merlin that's a dragon." "Doesn't matter. I'm a father now." In which Merlin raises a white dragon that is trying to learn to fly. Arthur pretty, sure their goal was to destroy the last dragon egg not hatch it. (One-shot)

Note: Queen Annis is mention at the end of the one-shot Arthur isn't pleased when Aithusa calls her grandmother.

Arthur finds Merlin.

He didn't like waking up to find Merlin gone and the knights looked for the servant. Despite their searches they couldn't find him until they saw him. Right there, with stars in his eyes looking at a dragon.

Wait a dragon?

A small little white dragon trying to flap her wings. Merlin looked far too proud.

"Merlin, what is that?" Arthur asked slowly as his mind process what was in front of him.

"A dragon," Merlin said.

"Yes, but why do you have a dragon," Arthur said.

"I found her. She's my daughter now. You know what that means Arthur? I'm a father."

Sometimes Arthur wondered if he was the only normal one.

"Merlin that's a dragon."

"Doesn't matter I'm a father now."

The little white dragon seemed to be trying to fly.

"Sire, do we kill the beast or not?" Leon whispered trying to keep his voice low so Merlin didn't hear him. It was no used because Merlin heard him and gasped loudly.

"How dare you." Merlin picked up the little white dragon in his arms. "You will not kill my daughter. She my only child and there for I must protect her."

The other knights seemed just as lost as Arthur felt as they watched Merlin cooing at the dragon.

Arthur did not want to make Merlin upset and he's pretty sure killing Merlin's dragon would make the servant upset.

"No, Leon. Not yet anyway."

"I still won't let you kill her Arthur," Merin said. As he stormed off with a dragon in his arms. "She is only a baby. She will grow up and live out a full dragon life and maybe one day we might find another dragon. And, she will marry the most handsome dragon in the world and I will be a grandfather."

The dragon licked Merlin on the check.

Gwaine asked a very important question.

"Does that mean we're uncles?" the knight asked.

Sadly, Merlin was far too ahead of them to answer.

Arthur was far too young to be an uncle.

Gaius frowned at the dragon on his table trying to fly by the looks of her wings flapping rapidly.

"Does Arthur know there's a dragon in his castle?"

"Oh, yes," Merlin said. "I made Gwaine godfather. I trusted him with her more than Arthur at the moment. Arthur sulked for hours after that."

Gaius could only blink at the news wondering if he's the only normal one.

While Aithusa seemed unhappy at her attempts in flying.

"Cheer up girl. You'll get there soon I know you will," Merlin said being supportive.

Agravaine wondered if he's the only normal one in Camelot.

"Sire, you do know there is a dragon in your throne room?"

The dragon in question was trying to fly. Only she tripped on her own feet and made a sound that sounded like sobbing. Merlin rushed to her side and picked her up in his arms cooing to her.

"Yes, I know. Her name is Aithusa."

"And, I'm the godfather," Gwaine said far too proudly for anyone liking.

Arthur frowned.

"What? Jealous that Merlin trust me more then you?"

"No, I am not."

"I reckon you are."

"I am not."

"You are."

"No."

"You are."

"I am not Gwaine."

Aithusa leaped onto Gwaine head standing proudly. Arthur turned to sulk.

"Ha, he's so jealous."

Agravaine mind started wondering the best possible way to inform Morgana of this recent news. One where she will believe him because he highly doubted that she would believe him. Heck, he's here and he still didn't believe the fact that Arthur was jealous because Merlin didn't make him godfather. Or, was it because all this fuss was caused by a dragon that caused Agravaine doubt.

Leon couldn't bring himself to kill the dragon even if his King wanted to because that's Merlin's child. You just don't go around killing Merlin's child.

"She is cute," Elyan said. "For a dragon."

"When do you think she will actually fly?" Leon asked.

The small little dragon in questioned is still trying to fly.

Flapping her wings, but getting nowhere fast.

"I don't know. I'm not really a dragon person."

Dragons we're killed out years ago, Leon recalled nobody was really a dragon person and nobody really knew anything about them.

"Papa."

There was a pause.

"Did she just?"

Leon nodded.

The small dragon looked around.

"Papa."

Elyan gasped at the sight.

"Merlin your daughter talking," Leon said.

Merlin head poked down the hall dropping the clothes he was carrying.

"What?"

"Papa."

The dragon rushed to Merlin side.

"Aww, she said her first word. She knows who her papa is. Aww."

It was said that Elyan was still gasping to this day.

"So, dragons can talk," Arthur said.

Percival nodded his head.

The little dragon was still trying to fly, but had learnt ten new words and one curse word. That Merlin was furious when he heard her say it and had been tracking down whoever had said it to her in the first place.

"I didn't know dragons could talk," Arthur said. "Did you know dragons could talk?"

Percival shakes his head.

"Uncle, Percy."

Percival was so proud that his niece learnt his name.

Arthur sulked for weeks because the damn lizard had let to say his name.

Queen Annis wonders if the treaty with Camelot was a mistake.

"She won't say my name at all," Arthur said to his servant.

The servant in question had a white dragon on his head.

"You did try to kill her."

"Oh, come on she was an egg."

"She still knows."

"An egg doesn't have feelings Merlin."

The servant gasped.

"How dare you say that. That was the egg of my daughter you're talking about."

Queen Annis turned to the new Queen looking for answers.

"It's fairly normal," Gwen said. "Arthur's still jealous."

"Auntie Gwen," the white dragon said. Flying towards the Queen. "Auntie, hello."

"Hello dear."

The dragon turned to Annis.

"Can I call you grandma?"

Queen Annis smiled.

"Of course."

Maybe the treaty wasn't a bad idea after all.

"Oh, come on," a furious King said.

Gwen was right King Arthur was indeed jealous.
