Ron Becomes Aware of Ron-bashing
It was a few days since the Golden Trio had found out there was an alternate universe where they were characters in a book series with them as the main protagonists. Harry was shocked, Ron was fascinated and Hermione thought it was cool.
They also had a laptop which allowed them to see things like fanfiction written about themselves and theories other people made up. Hermione's favourite were the character analysises. Ron's was the fanfiction, and Harry just liked seeing all this stuff in general.
Until one day.
Hermione and Harry were walking to the Gryffindor boys' dorm together to meet up with Ron. They found him sitting on the floor, head in his hands, shaking slightly. The laptop was open in front of him.
"Something wrong?" said Hermione, sliding down next to him. Ron just shook his head and pulled away from Hermione. Looking now, Harry could see he was crying. Harry was rather shocked, he had never seen Ron cry before…
Until he looked at the laptop and understood why
There were a bunch of tabs open with names like, "Is Ron Weasley completely pointless?" or "Why Ron Weasley is a terribly written character."
The tab that was currently open was a long rant about how his relationship with Hermione was toxic and how he was abusive and a bully to Hermione.
"Oh, Ron!' exclaimed Hermione, pulling him into a tight hug. Ron, however, pulled away. "You don't really believe any of that, do you?" "I…don't know." Said Ron in a voice that sounded like it was going to break. "Am I good enough for you? Am I good enough at all? Or am I just an abusive bully?"
Hermione grabbed his shoulders and forced him to look her in the eyes. "You listen to me, Ronald Bilius Weasley. You are not – and never will be – abusive in any way, shape or form. And if these people have nothing better to do except harass you all day long and make up pathetic reasons to do so, then they're the bullies." Ron sniffed and hugged Hermione back. Harry had been just sort of standing to the side all this time, not sure whether to join in or not. But when that happened, he joined in on the hug (somehow) and he and Hermione were both hugging him
