The young Stark sat in the aircraft. The Task Team, Nat and Steve stood around, ready for the mission. Daniel was just trying to enjoy himself with this. After all, going on these super, secret missions are not always fun, especially when he has to follow orders. Well, semi-follow them. He has to get information, doesn't mean he can't make a copy and use it to his advantage. He had an ear bud in, listening to some Abba while he waited for the mission to begin. Dan drummed his thumbs in his thighs at the rhythm of the song, Gimmie! Gimmie! Gimmie ( A Man After Midnight)

Daniel was getting bored with the silence in the plane, besides his music playing in his ear. He thought that starting a conversation would be good, entertaining, because he truly hates being bored. Boredom usually leads to someone getting hurt, so entertainment is a must.

"Y'know, I never thought that I'd be one of the good guys."

"You aren't."

"Always so charming, Rogers," Daniel smiled tightly at the man before him. The men around chuckled a bit at Stark's words. Sure, some of the team admired Steve. After all, he is Captain America. He is the man that fought and killed Nazis, saved people and gave his life to save New York. However, a few have been slightly vexed by how righteous he is.

Steve rolled his eyes at Daniel's words. It seems that neither men were happy about this predicament. It was understandable. One believes the other is a criminal. The other believes that Rogers is just a pompous ass that believes himself to be better than others. It is safe to say that neither men are fond of the other.

Nat sighed at how they were behaving. "As much as I like you both, I will not hesitate to knock you both out."

"That a promise, Agent Romanoff?" Daniel grinned as he turned to the spy. Natasha shook her head, amused that Daniel kept flirting with her after all this time. Not even Tony flirted with her this much when she was undercover. However, she knew that was how the younger Stark was.

The rest of the Task Force were getting ready in the aircraft. Rumlow had his back to the other three, talking to his men in a hushed manner. Everyone was dressed in black, ready for combat against those pirates that infiltrated SHIELD's ship. Everyone had their own agendas. However a certain blond didn't know that.

Nat and Daniel are to extract any information from the ship. Steve's is to save the hostages. Sure, Daniel should care about saving the people. However, he doesn't have that annoying need to save everyone. He may have had that urge years ago but not now. Right now, he only cares about himself. So, info first then hostages later.

"Alright," Rumlow said loudly, grabbing everyone's attention. Daniel didn't even bother taking off his earbud. He can multi-task. Plus, Abba makes everything better.

Rumlow got a screen and began to tell the plan for everyone to see and hear. "Target is a mobile satellite launch platform: The Lemurian Star. They were sending up their last payload when pirates took over, 93 minutes ago. "

93 minutes ago, interesting. Daniel was picked up an hour ago and had to change into these nice black, combat suits. It would be a lie if Daniel hadn't checked himself out a bit. Black is defiently a good color on him.

"Any demands?"

"A billion and a half," Rumlow replied to the blind.

Daniel let out a wolf whistle at the sound of it. He got a few looks, but Daniel didn't care. He was thinking of a billion and a half dollars.

"Why so steep?"

"I would have asked for more," Daniel retorted as he looked at Steve. Steve didn't even spare him a look. Daniel knew that he heard him when he saw his jaw clench. It was funny. Daniel smirked at the sight of it, amused by it. Steve shook his head before turning to Nat.

"You know, I'm tired of being Fury's Janitor."

"Nah, you're more like his bitch," Daniel smiled as he looked at Steve. That seemed to have warranted a look from the Captain himself. Jaw clenched and brows furrowed, nose flared in annoyance. It was an amusing sight. It definetly made the guy look hot. If he wasn't such a dick, Daniel would not have minded tapping that ass.

"Relax, boys," Nat said as she watched both men with boredom, the Task Force seemed to be waiting for some sort of action between Stark and Rogers. However Nat was not in the mood to be spammed by Tony about how Daniel ended with a broken bone or in the hospital. She would prefer to avoid the whole situation.

Daniel simply gave a wink to the redhead and kept his mouth shut, ready to start the mission. Steve sighed loudly before turning to Rumlow.

"How many pirates?"

Rumlow cleared his throat, a smile threatening on growing on his face as he turned to the screen. He wasn't going to admit that he was expecting a fight to take place. "Twenty-five, top mercs, led by this guy. Georges Batroc," he said as he put an image of the man. "Ex-DGSE, Action Division. He's at the top of Interpol's Red Notice. Before the French demobilized him, he had thirty-six kill missions. This guy's got a rep for maximum casualties."

Steve nodded, taking in the information. Daniel didn't look bothered. No, he looked bored. He had his arms crossed against his chest as he listened to the following song on his playlist, September by Earth, Wind and Fire. Daniel couldn't help but dance a bit. He moved side to side in a subtle manner, his shoulders following as well.

"Do you remember, 21st night of September?"

Daniel had began mumble the song as he gotentally ready for the mission. He just wanted to go back home and just chill. Maybe he can walk around Time Square and see how many people he can pickpocket.

That actually sounded like fun.

It would be better if he had someone joining his antics. That would be amazing. It would be a competition of who could do more.

"Alright, I'm gonna sweep the deck and find Batroc. Nat, Daniel, you'll kill the engines and wait for instructions. Rumlow, you sweep aft, find the hostages, get them to the life-pods, get 'em out. Let's move," Steve ordered as he fixed his wrist communicator.

Daniel had an earbud in one ear and the earcom in another. Was it irresponsible?

Definitely.

But it made the mission fun with some music in the background to make everything more cool. Daniel gave a simple thumbs up to his orders before throwing Nat a wink, ready for the mission to start.

Daniel jumped from one foot to the other, getting pumped to start kicking ass. He did get a few amused looks from the guys, but he didn't care. He was hyped.

He had his earcom and earbud in. His communicator is set. One thing he has that the others don't are these cool wrist weapons that Tony made him. It seems that big brother wasn't really fond of Daniel on these missions, so he just made these tools to help him.

It looked like a watch, but it worked like the Iron Man suit blasters. Dan just had to press the face of the watch and the tech wrapped around his hand and it extended a bit further down his wrist. It was definitely cool. The testing for it was also fun, so many burnt walls.

Tony was kind enough to make some adjustments, such as a kill mode -- which Dan hopes he doesn't use, and a mode that simply knocks out the bad guy's. So, Daniel will use the latter.

Daniel followed Nat's lead. Both agents ran across the Ship's deck before getting and heading down to the controls. Nat went one way and Daniel went the other to clear the floor before heading further down to the control room.

Music continued to blare through his ear as he moved, making it feel like he was in a movie. He was just making this as fun as he could. Running through the ship's corridor before he came across his first bad guy. With a grin, he made a quick evaluation on the man and saw he had most of his weight on his right leg.

The man held an assault riffle and had his back towards Daniel. With such giddiness, he kicked the back of his knee and slammed the bad guy's head against the wall. That seemed to have got the attention of the guys on the floor. There were four of them, all carrying weapons.

In the almost six years of being a criminal, he had never killed anyone. Sure, he had kicked some ass and tortured some people, but he had never gotten as far as to kill someone. He is going to try to keep that streak up. Mostly because that's one good thing that he has that Cap doesn't.

Instantly, bullets were headed his way. Daniel rolled out of the way to hide behind a wall and pressed the face of the watch, and the tech instantly wrapped around his hand. Clenching his fist, he stood up once the men needed to reload, and he held his arm out towards them and fired at them these small devices that electrocuted them unconscious. Daniel peeked over the wall to see the bodies on the ground.

They carried one hell of a punch, and Daniel watched the four men fall like a sack of potatoes. So far, things felt easy. With a kick in his walk, he continued making his way down to the controls.

Unfortunately, he didn't see coming one guy that came at him with a knife. He came out of nowhere. It was pure luck when he stepped aside and managed to dodge it.

He was on the defense as the man kept swinging at him with the knife. Daniel made quick and swift steps as he avoided the sharp blade. Daniel sidestepped to the left and managed to get the man's arm before he moved his right elbow down his arm to break it.

The man let out a yell of pain, dropping the knife to the ground. However, with his other hand, he sent a punch to Daniel's abdomen. Daniel clenched his jaw as pain erupted from his side, but he didn't let go. Rather, he kicked the man behind the knee and watched him kneel before kicking him behind the head, which knocked out the criminal.

Dan did fight a few more men along the way until he reached the control room and began to get to work. Somehow, he managed to get there first. So, he took out the drive he had and began to download everything.

"Nice shiner," he heard her say as she made her way beside him. Dan glanced at her briefly, a small smile on his face at the sight of her.

"You should see the other guy."

Nat chuckled briefly at his words as she joined him. Both of them were busy on the computer, getting the necessary Intel before they were surprised by the sudden apperance of Captain America.

Daniel looked to his left to see the blond man crash into the room with one of the bad guy's. He really should have paid more attention to the debriefing, because he didn't know which bad guy it was. He just consider them badguys, because it is easier like that.

"Well, this is awkward."

Steve turned to see both Stark and Romanoff on the computer. Daniel gave the blond a simple wave and a smile as he turned his attention back to the computer.

"What are you doing?" Steve questioned as he walked towards them to see what they were doing.

"Playing Minecraft,"

"Backing up the Hard drive."

Daniel and Nat said at the same time. Daniel sighed and leaned against the computer out of boredom. The fun had just run out. Now he wants to go home. This wasn't as fun as he thought it was.

"Rumlow needed your help, from either of you," Steve looked at both of them with disappointment and anger.

Daniel had to admit that he didn't hear Steve asking for help. He got distracted by some James Brown. Daniel took out his phone and began to look through his playlists as Nat and Steve talked, cuz Daniel was currently not in the mood.

"Our mission is to save the hostages," Steve said and Daniel had decided to listen to some Classic Rock. Tony must have made this playlist, Daniel noticed.

"No, that's your mission and you've done it beautifully."

"Both of you jeopardized this whole operation!"

"I think you need to tone it down a bit, wouldn't want to be considered dramatic," Daniel stated as he crossed his arms against his chest and leaned back against the computer. Steve imma turned to him and began to take a few steps towards Daniel. Considering it a threat, Daniel stood up straight and looked at Steve head on.

"How about you take a few steps back, Soldier," Daniel said. It sounded like a suggestion but there was a threatening tone behind it. He could see how Steve clenched his jaw, annoyed and overall pissed off at the moment.

However, Steve didn't have anytime to respond before a grenade was thrown at the team's direction. Using the shield, Steve hit it back and got both Nat and Daniel before jumping into the office behind them.

The heat from the blast burned Daniel's skin as he hit the ground and glass embedded itself onto his palms. His body felt sore once he hit the ground, from the landing and the blast. Daniel grimaced as he laid on the ground while Nat and Steve were against the wall.

With a grimace, Daniel sat up. Containing a wince, he began to push himself up.

"Okay, that one's on us," Nat sighed and Steve simply shook his head in disappointment.

"I hold no...no responsibility," Daniel groaned as he stood up, feeling sore all over.

Steve simply got up and began to make his way out, the mission being over. Daniel walked towards Nat and offered her a hand to help her up. She accepted, pulling herself up.

"He'll get over it," Nat said, but it didn't sound like she cared much. After all, it was her mission, hers and Daniel's. Steve had to understand that.

"Ugh, I owe the guy now," Daniel groaned as he walked towards the exit. Steve saved his ass, and Daniel is in his debt. He has to save Steve's ass soon to be even. He doesn't like being in debt with people.

Leaving the room, Steve stood outside talking with the Rumlow. Rumlow didn't stay long and left to speak with his Task Force. Daniel sighed before he approached the blond.

"So, back there...," Daniel began as he watched Steve look at him with impatience, " Thanks. You could have let me roast like a marshmallow, but you didn't."

Steve's eyes widened slightly, surprised that Daniel was thanking him.

"This doesn't make us friends. This is just an acknowledgment that you could have let me die but didn't," Daniel instantly said afterwards, clearing his throat. It was obvious that he was uncomfortable, not used to saying thank you to people saving his ass. He usually is able to save his own ass. However, thanks must be given to where it's owed.

"You're welcome," Steve smiled slightly and watched Daniel walk towards the jet, wanting nothing more than a shower and a cheeseburger at the moment.
