Standing there in Hawk Moth's lair, there was no use in trying to fight him anymore. No matter how much she was told to fight back, it was useless when all you wanted was to hurt someone. Marinette Dupain-Cheng, now Lady Misfortune, stood at Hawk Moth's side. Chat Noir, who fought so bravely to save his love, was unconscious. "Perfect." Hawk Moth said in his cold voice. Hawk Moth did an evil smile as he snapped his gloved fingers, and de-eviliving Marinette. "Now marvel at your glorious work."

Marinette opened her eyes and looked around, confused on how she had gotten there when she was just in her room. Her eyes then landed on Chat. Mari raced towards him and knelt down next to him. "What did you make me do to him?" Marinette cried. Her voice was soft and full of tears. "What did you make me do!" She said louder, almost like a tearful scream.

"I didn't make you do anything. This was all you, and your hatred." Hawk Moth responded, twisting his words to make it seem like it was her who killed Chat and not him.

Marinette checked for a pulse. "He's not breathing. Why isn't he breathing!?" Her cries were so loud that if the lair wasn't soundproof, police would be surrounding the place.

"He's dead, isn't that obvious."

"No." Marinette said softly. "NO!" The last thing they did was fight. The last thing Adrien did was leave. The last he ever did was fight her. "I'm so sorry. I should have never said those things to you." Marinette said, holding one of Chat's gloved hands. Her head was on his chest as she was hoping for a heart beat, but there was nothing. "I know you didn;t mean to. It was probably her who made the move, not you." Chloe revealed a picture of Adrien kissing Kagagmi. She was convinced that Adrien cheated on her. That day, they got into an argument and when Adrien walked out, a little black and purple butterfly flew into her room. "I'm sorry Adrien. I didn't mean to say what I said."

"Did you just say Adrien?" Hawk Moth asked. Did he just kill his own son?

"I guess it doesn't matter anymore. Chat noir was Adrien Agreste." It was at this moment, Hawk Moth realized he made a serious mistake. He went to his son's side and took his ring off. The cat costume vanished and revealed the young model. Hawk Moth already had the Ladybug miraculous. Lady misfortune gave it to him when she entered the lair. He transformed to reveal Gabriel Agreste, father of Adrien Agreste. Marinette didn't even bother to look. She had her closed tightly as she cried next to Adrien's body. Gabriel Agreste knew what he had to do. He was doing everything for the good of his son.

"Marinette," He said, "take his ring and make the wish to bring him back." Ladybug looked up at him and gasped when she saw that the menace behind the mask was just a fashion designer who was mourning the loss of his wife.

"I can't. There would be a price to pay." She said. Even though she wanted to bring him back, she couldn't.

"Let me be the price. I was doing everything for him. I knew I wouldn't be able to live up to his mother. He probably hates me. I thought it would be good for him to have his mother but, now I know, you're good for him." Marinette's mouth hung open. "You have my approval but I need you to bring him back. Let me be the price."

Marinette didn't know what to say so she just took the ring. She took a deep breath. "Tikki, plagg, unify." Marinette transformed into a purple and gold uniform. Her eyes were flaming gold. She closed them and said "I wish for Adrien to return." Marinette started to fly higher in the air as the energy of creation and destruction surrounded her. "Let Gabriel Agreste pay the ultimate price for his actions." A big cosmic blast emulated the room. Marinette slowly floated down. Once her feet touched the ground, she fell to her knees from exhaustion. Her transformation faded.

Her head was pounding. She didn't know how long she sat there but she opened her blurry eyes to see the blonde boy she so hopelessly loved. "Marinette, Marinette." He called. Her eyes came into focus and her head stopped pounding. "Mari?"

"Adrien?" Mari felt tears brim her eyes. "Adrien!" She yelled and hugged him tightly while crying tears of joy. "I'm so so sorry for what I said and did. Before and after I was akumatized."

"I know, and I still love you." The two pulled apart. Mari spotted Gabriel lying on the. She frowned.

"I'm sorry about your father. He was only doing what was best for you. He realized he wasn't and told me to make the wish to bring you back, at the cost of his life." Adrien looked down.

"It doesn't matter what he did. I love him no matter what." Adrien did a smirk. "But I love you more bugaboo."

Marinette smiled and gave him another hug. "I love you too mon chaton."

It was hard trying to explain Gabriel's death without making Ladybug and Chat Noir seem like vigilantes. Weeks later was a funeral for Gabriel that only people who respected him went to. Adrien moved in with Mari and all was good in Paris.

When Adrien and Marinette went to college, they both went to New York to help the New York superheroes and mentor Eagle who got the Eagle miraculous years ago and help build the miraculous team there.

Adrien and Marinette raised their 3 kids and told them about the heroes of Paris. They moved back to Paris and reunited with all their friends. It was everything they wanted, and more.
