While Marinette was sleeping soundly after finishing the last of her homework, Tikki snuck out to meet up with Plagg. For the last few weeks now Adrien would be where Marinette would be on her dates with Luka, first was at the Skating Rink and through the date, Adrien was mostly talking to Marinette. Kagami believed at first that Marinette was following them to get closer to Adrien, but that wasn't the case as she was more focused on Luka.

After the whole Ice Rink disaster as Ladybug and Chat Noir saved the day, Adrien and Kagami would show up at every date including going to Andre's for ice cream that was famous for bringing couples together. Kagami wanted to blame Marinette, but she then remembered her last date with Adrien that resulted in them driving till they saw what they thought was Marinette.

It was getting too much for Tikki when she caught Plagg advising the boy, they were at the Cinema watching the latest Ladybug and Chat Noir movie and Adrien recoiled when his alter ego was nothing more than comic relief and bad cat puns. Kagami was getting into the movie and didn't see her boyfriend's attention was on the couple several chairs away, if the Akuma Alarm didn't go off as it did Adrien would have pulled Marinette away from that cad before he could ever kiss her.

Tikki didn't have to wait long when she caught the scent of that stinky sock cheese, Plagg smirked when he saw his Sugarcube and playfully teased her. Tikki wasn't in the mood for games as she told the cat kwami to stop encouraging his holder from getting in between Marinette and Luka, "come on Sugarcube. You know for one thing that I'm right in this so what's wrong in oiling the wheels to move things along, Baker Girl is the Ying to my boy's yang and we're meant to be together so what is the problem?"

As much Tikki liked the idea of two halves becoming whole, but for some reason, Marinette was practically stalking her crush and that wasn't healthy and Adrien was in love with the image and not the person behind the mask. Maybe in the future when they were wiser in their age, but right now she needed to convince Plagg as he needed to get Adrien to back off as he had a girlfriend and it wouldn't be fair to Kagami.

Plagg thought differently, both holders of the Ladybug and the Black Cat were fated to be together and no one was perfect for his boy than the sweet blue-haired girl that smelt of cinnamon buns and sugar. Plagg knew his Sugarcube was quite protective over her holder but as much as he pretends Plagg cared a big deal over his boy and wanted him to have a little happiness in his life and that was with Marinette. However as Plagg hated to admit it his little honey was right, if Adrien or Chat Noir did confess his feelings then Marinette would think that the boy was only interested in the hero part of her and not his civilian self. If Adrien wanted to be with Marinette then he had to be honest with himself and decide who he's wants before anyone else got hurt.

Plagg grumbled something under his breath hating that Tikki was right and with his arms crossed reluctantly agreed that he'll tell his holder to back off a little, Tikki smiled happily she solved the problem somewhat but knew it won't stop Adrien Agreste for long if he was determined about something.

For almost two months Juleka and Rose told Marinette they had never seen Luka smile as much as he did, especially when the girl's name was mentioned. Marinette blushed as she liked him too, but a part of her was reluctant to reciprocate as the fifteen-year-old remembered the last time she poured her heart into someone she had her heartbroken. Instead of going into a relationship with Luka, she would like to know him as friends and see how it developed.

Alya on the other hand was trying to get Marinette and Adrien together, but her boyfriend Nino told her that things like relationships had to naturally happen just like they did for them.

"All his life Adrien had to follow other people's rules and their expectations, the only freedom he really has is at school and the time he spends with his friend. Adrien my dude adores Marinette, but you have to give him time ma mon Cherie to make his own decision to make the first move."

Alya always thought that both Adrien and Marinette were perfect for each other, the auburn-haired girl of fifteen saw the way Juleka's brother looked at Marinette and the boy was smitten. Alya even noticed the way Adrien reacted when Luka hugged Marinette in relief after she went missing during an Akuma attack, but like Nino said it was best if nature took its course and hoped things didn't go wrong.

After several weeks had passed and Marinette was happily in a relationship with Luka, the boy of seventeen was taking things slowly and wanted the girl to be comfortable around him. Kagami at first was ignoring the signs that her boyfriend was interested in was more interested in his best friend than her, it was at the Ice Rink that Kagami couldn't live with the lie anymore. All through the double date, Adrien's green eyes kept landing Marinette who was gliding gracefully on the ice with her boyfriend, as Marinette was focused on Luka and what she was doing, Adrien was becoming more clumsy on his feet. It was when he saw Marinette's cute blush and her bluebell eyes sparkled with affection for the older boy that Adrien lost his balance and slammed against the wall.

Rubbing his back in pain Kagami got to her boyfriend's side and helped him up as Luka and Marinette skating towards them asking if he was ok, what hurt Adrien Agreste more was the concern Marinette Dupain Cheng had for him was that of a worried friend and not that of a potential lover. Adrien needed to get away before he lost it completely and skated away with Marinette's concerned eyes watching him.

Throughout the week Adrien denied he had any type of feeling for Marinette as he only saw her as one of his best friends that he cared a great deal for, Plagg at one time was telling him to chase after Marinette was now telling him to back off. What was worse was that Kagami wouldn't leave things be, refusing to be the consolation prize as her mother taught her to be and have the best in her personal life and academically. Adrien knew there was no point apologising as he didn't realise his feelings till it was too late, it was on the same day that both Kagami and Adrien broke up Marinette and Luka were talking about their relationship.

As Kagami left in her car as Adrien apologised profusely telling Kagami he did care for her but he couldn't change how he felt towards Marinette, Kagami sadly smiled trying to hold back her tears. Adrien watched his now ex-girlfriend leave feeling guilty that he hurt his friend, but he couldn't carry on with the lie anymore and it was better to break up now instead of later. Once the coast was clear Adrien called Plagg to transform him wanting to tell Marinette how he felt- the black cat kwami tried to talk his holder out of it but the boy didn't listen as he needed to see Marinette right away as she needed to know he loved her.

Luka fell in love with Marinette the moment he first saw her enter his cabin, at the beginning he watched on the sidelines as Marinette chase after Adrien to get his attention. That soon changed when Adrien got himself a girlfriend, it was there that Marinette decided to move on. Luka and Marinette became close friends before they even decided to be a couple, despite how he felt towards Marinette Luka believed that his girlfriend chose him since she couldn't be with Adrien. That wasn't really the problem, the problem was that Marinette was either missing their dates or turn up late with the worse excuses he had ever heard in why she had to leave.

It was getting too much and Luka needed to know where he and Marinette's relationship was going, he needed to hear for himself if Marinette truly wanted to be in this relationship or binding her time till Adrien Agreste decides he wants to be with her. Marinette knew this was going to happen one day and asked for Tikki's advice on what she should do in telling her boyfriend about her secret identity, after a long discussion between the pair Tikki knew that the pressure of being the Guardian of the Miraculous was too much for a fifteen-year-old.

Out of her three friends, she knew she could tell Nino, but when it comes to Alya she would eventually get the information out of her boyfriend. Marinette then thought about telling Alya, but last time the auburn-haired girl was given any information Alya ended up telling Lila making Marinette's life harder than it was already. Then there was Adrien, she knew in her heart that she could trust him with anything she told him. The problem was that Adrien was obsessed with Ladybug and if he knew he would only be interested in one side of her and this would only complicate things between herself and Luka, making her decision she made a call to Luka to come over as she needed to tell him something.

Luka was dreading this, he knew that Marinette was going to leave him for Adrien now that the boy knew how amazing she was. Entering the Bakery Luka was welcomed warmly by Mr Dupain as Mrs Cheng called for their daughter, Marinette looked terrified as she led her boyfriend up to her room becoming more nervous by the second.

This was it Marinette was going to break up with him, taking a deep breath Luka kept his eyes on his shaking hands not knowing that Marinette was just as nervous as he was. "Mari... if you're going to break up with me then tell me." Marinette quickly sat next to her boyfriend and took his hands in hers, "Luka I don't want us to break up. That is not why I called you," taking a deep breath and licked her dried lips as she stuttered out the truth that she was Ladybug, now Marinette was scared that Luka would break up with her with not handling her secret. Marinette was now in tears told Luka she was sorry and would understand if he didn't want to see her, what she didn't expect was for the teal-haired boy to pull his girlfriend into his arms and kissed her as she kissed him back.

"Mari, nothing can stop me from being away from you. You're stuck with me now coccinelle, for as long as you save Paris your secret will forever be locked in my heart."

Marinette was happy that her secret was out and she had someone to confine with looked into Luka's eyes and blurted out those three words when she realised what she had said Marinette began to panic thinking she was being too forward trying to take her words back covering her eyes in embarrassment. Luka had the biggest smile on his face as he confessed her loved her too, hearing this the blue-haired girl looked at her boyfriend and found him gazing lovingly at her- feeling more confident now Marinette ran her fingers through Luka's hair and pulled him down for a kiss.

While the couple were kissing, Chat Noir was outside with a single red rose ready to enter inside his princess' room to confess how he felt. Instead, he finds out that the girl he realised too late he loved was now with Luka, what hurt him more was that his Marinette was his Lady and she had chosen another when it should have been him Ladybug fell in love with. There was nothing more Chat wanted than to go inside that room and pull Marinette from that guitar player's arms and into his, but what right did he have, dropping the rose to the ground Chat Noir turned away from the scene and tearfully smiled. "At least, you're happy now malady." Wiping away his tears Chat Noir pulled out his baton and pushed himself off and headed in the direction of the Eiffel Tower his heart broken in pieces.

(I am leaving it there, I know that many love the idea of Marinette and Adrien being together but I think personally that Marinette needs to separate herself from Adrien for a bit and truly see Adrien as a friend before their relationship can go further as Mari needs to see what a healthy relationship is like and Luka is the one to do that. Maybe in the future when they are older they might find each other again, Plagg looks after your boy he'll be ok with you there you cute cheese-eating stinky sock kwami.)
