The Black Umbrella

SEQUEL TO THE PINK UMBRELLA
A few weeks passed by and Adrien had his black umbrella returned by Marinette. Marinette was opening up more to him. Adrien spoke to his father who asked Adrien about Marinette trying to find out information about her. ShadowHawk had been wanting to Akumatized Marinette for over a year; he even had Lila doing anything to trigger her.
Awkward conversation with Adrien hadn't seen his Father in weeks now and was being pressured about the girl. "So tell me about Marinette." Gabriel asked, sipping some wine. Adrien was a bit shocked. Adrien knew that as Ladybug was Marinette was dealing with a lot however he'd have to keep any details about that or how she has feared about him finding out who she was and end with an alternative timeline.
"She's really busy." He responded to his father
"Are you seeing Marinette?" Adrien's father asked.
"Oh, no sir. I may have messed up. I promised to stop pursuing her. I'm trying to be a friend for now."
Gabriel nodded. "I had assumed she was the reason behind your split with Ms Kagami." Gabriel sipped more wine.
Adrien sat in deep thought. Technically as Chat Noir helping and running off. "I sabotaged that relationship. And I can't do that again and I cannot be in that kind of relationship with Marinette because I'll ruin that as well." He sighed into his plate reflection of Chat Blanc.
-After dinner
Adrien was sitting at his desk and noticed text messages from his class chat he missed.
Nino: Lila you should stop with messing with Marinette 5:59 pm
Lila: Nino, not sure what you are talking about. I'd never do a thing, I love Marinette like a sister 7:01 pm
Alya: (Shows a photo of Marinette wrapped in a towel trying to get red paint out of her hair.) Bullshit I watched you do that. Marinette's mom and I have been trying to save her hair the last several hours! 7:03 pm
"Plagg Claws Out?" Transforming into Chat Noir. Chat Noir was off to see Marinette. Hopping out the window and into Paris. It took a few minutes but he landed with a light thud that caused Alya to open up the roof hatch.
"Chat? Why are you here?' she asked. Chat Noir made up a lie. "The-the principal gave me access to the class chats and I read one and I saw the photo and I was just making sure everything was okay and no Akumatizing was happening."
"Oh, she's in the bathroom rinsing out the last of the paint some of her skin that had the paint on it it caused allergic reaction on her and she's blotchy but fortunately we found a hack online to get the paint out and she didn't get her hair cut but her hair got lightened a little bit from the process. At least we saved her hair." Alya said.
"Why would Lila continue doing things to Marinette like this?" Chat asked.
"Lila, she's been bullying Marinette about a classmate named Adrien. It's been going on since last year and it's gotten worse since he gave her a pink umbrella." Chat Noir felt guilty.
"Can you have her check in with me after she leaves the bathroom?" he asked Alya nodded and closed the hatch.
About 30 minutes went by and the roof hatch was opened by pink Marinette from her allergic reaction to the paint. She stepped out in PJs and a blanket wrapped around her with her hair down.
"Are you okay, Princess?" he asked, giving her some space recalling her slight fear of Chat Blanc.
"I'm not getting Akumatized. I'm taking a few days off and hopefully my skin looks better." Marinette sighed.
'I think you look beautiful." Chat Noir honestly said.
"I -I…" she was stammering. "I'm going to bed, thank you for checking in on me. I'll be fine, really." She managed to get out and waved goodnight and closed the hatch. Marinette turned to see her Mom and Alya looking at her
Unknown to Marinette she was blushing despite her face having an allergic reaction from the paint and red spots from the paint that you clearly see that she was embarrassed.
"What did he say dear?" Her mom asked
"He said I looked beautiful."
Alya laughed. "Looks like Mr. Agreste has competition now from a superhero."
-The next day Marinette did not go to class the next day she was at home trying to make her skin recover from the allergic reaction. Adrien however had a plan he was going to hold Lila responsible for what she did to Marinette. The first thing he did was he went to the principal's office and there he pulled Lila's own game on her
After talking with the principal both of them went to his classroom where he went in and sat down and the principal went up to the room teacher and whispered to her. Miss Bustier then said, "Lila, I need you to come to the principal office . Your parents are on their way."
"She's lying! I didn't do anything. She's been jealous of me this last year!" Lila stood up a
And try to defend herself.
Adrien stood up and turned towards Lila. "That is a lie, I saw you through the glass wall in the classroom." He lies he knew if only Alya saw what Lila did this would continue. "You've been bullying Marinette for a year. You've been a terrible person to her since I gave her an umbrella! Do you know how ridiculous it is to be jealous over an umbrella? I bought a Marinette umbrella because I care about her. I would never buy you an umbrella, especially the way you have been since you moved here!" Adrien was not messing around. The class sat there in shock.
Lila glared at Adrien who was heading down the stairs to the principal. The whole class was full of gossip for the rest of the day. Even Chloe was shocked at what Adrien said to everyone. The class was not going to be aware of the punishment but it was clear who Lila really was.
-After school
After school Adrian went to Marinette's house her parents told him to go ahead and go on up and warned him she wasn't feeling good about her her skin looked better from having an allergic reaction to the paint. Adrian knocked on her room hatch.
"Marinette," he said, then heard sounds of drawers closing. "It's Adrien. I need to see you and let you know what happened today." He hears a shhhh sounds and a hatch open with Marinette just taking a little peek outside.
"I'm here. Now you see me, you can head home."
She said, embarrassed.
"No. I'm coming up and I'm talking to you. You talk to me when I need someone and now I'm going to talk to you and I'm going to give you a hug and tell you what happened today."
Marinette got out of the way so he could come in. She went over to her daybed sofa that was on the main floor of her room and covered herself in an embarrassed blanket. Adrien entered her room and walked over and sat next to her on her daybed sofa.
"Lila is suspended. I'm not sure how long you had a couple witnesses and honestly Marinette what she did to you is considered assault and harassment. I'm sorry it's been getting worse since I gave you that pink umbrella. Alya was good at taking photos." He wrapped his arm around her and pulled her to him to give her a side hug.
He hears her cry softly covering up her face to shield him from looking at her. "Marinette, I'll keep you safe like you keep me safe." He tried to turn her so he could look at her but she was fighting him a little bit embarrassed. "Don't." She whispered.
"Let - let me see the girl I love." He spoke then resized what he did. She froze.. he froze too, did she know he was Chat Noir?
"As a friend?" She asked. Adrien took the moment of her distraction to pull the blanket away from her face so he could look at her. She was a little pink but looked better than yesterday.
He looked her straight in the eyes. "No. Not as a friend." He was looking her straight in the eyes as his heart started to pound. 'She was going to kick him out of her life for good.' He thought.
"I mean, please don't hate me?" He asked and she grabbed the blanket and covered herself back up.
"You hate me." He sighed.
" No, I just don't understand why."
"I've been in love with you for over a year, I thought you hated me or was scared of me." He gasped he had to remember she didn't know he was Chat Noir.
Adrien pulled Marinette over into a hug and just held her. They sat there for 15 minutes without talking. Marinette's cries stopped, her breath returned to normal, her arms wrapped around Adrien.
"I can't be with you, I can't be with anyone." She whispered out softly.
"Well… this looks like I'm going to this is going to complicate things and I'm going to have to prove every single day until I die how I feel about you and change your mind." Adrien said against her pulled blanket. He sat there for another 20 minutes until she fell asleep and he left and went home.
At home
Adrien arrived home a little defeated by his interaction with Marinette. Who's a little shocked to see his father at the door waiting for him with Nathalie. " Got a call from the principal." His father states. "According to the principal, that girl you're fond of has been home after being assaulted by Lila." His father said.
"I just saw Marinette. She almost lost her hair and she had some allergic reaction to the paint it's in her scalp splattered on her body." Adrien said. "Despite that she's still beautiful." Gabriel noted at his son what he was saying.
"Lila will not be at any further photo shoots in the future." Nathalie said. "Please go to your room and your Chinese teacher will be here in 30 minutes."
A week later
Adrien had no remorse for what he did to Lila. If it was just Alya's word nothing would have happened. It hurt him to know that Marinette had suffered because he gave her a gift. The classmates for gossiping especially after the way he stood up for Marinette.
When Marinette did return she just sent herself from him. I'm sure she returned wearing some makeup. Some of the spots on her face were still trying to recover. She was embarrassed she didn't even have time to put her hair up so her hair was loose Adrien found her even more beautiful.
At the end of the school day he found her again under the awning forgetting her umbrella again while it started to rain.
Adrien opened up the black umbrella over her, catching her by surprise. "Adrien... I'm sorry." Marinette said with that warning he pulled her into a hug as the rain tripped around them.
"I'm never going to leave you. We can keep trying to pull me away but I'm just going to pull you back." Adrien said.
Marinette was in tears. She buried her face and his black T-shirt. Adrien's free arm wrapped around Marinette in a slight hug.
"It ends today. You can't do this alone. It's me and you against the world My Lady."
