Marinette had walked into class, only to be met with a whole new seating arrangement. Nino was now sitting beside Alya, Adrien alone, and the whole class was in new seats. She had arrived a bit later so she missed Ms Bustier's announcement regarding Lila.
Confused, she asks Alya what's going on.
And that's when Lila enters.
"Hi everyone!" The Italian brunette greeted cheerfully.
"Hi Lila!" The class responded with equal enthusiasm, excluding Chloé, Alya, and Nino.
Adrien appeared to be busy glaring at his bag, not that anyone noticed.
"Oh, a seat in the front row! You guys actually remembered my hearing issue, you're so sweet!" She exclaimed, blowing a kiss at the class.
"You have a hearing problem, Lila?" Marinette raised an eyebrow.
Lila sighed sadly, "Yes, I suffer from tinnitus, a constant ringing in my left ear. I've had it ever since the sound of an airplane engine burst my eardrum on the runaway when I was saving Jagged Stone's lost kitten."
Chloé, who had been too busy on her phone, looked up, and scoffed.
"Jagged Stone? The Jagged Stone with a kitten? Please," she rolled her eyes. "Sabrina, my nail polish!"
Sabrina rushed to get the nail polish from Chloé's bag.
Lila's smile had slightly faded.
"Yes, Chloé."
"Jagged Stone doesn't have a kitten," Alya pointed out, looking up from her phone. She had opened Google and had apparently googled it. "And there is really strict security when it comes to airplanes."
Lila had stiffened.
"He used to have one! It was kept from the public though...he was devasted when he had to give it away when he found out he was allergic."
"So that was before his crocodile, right?" Nino clarified. Lila nodded.
"Class, you may discuss this after, for now, Lila, can you take your seat?"
Lila nodded and went to sit beside Adrien, giving him a smile. While Marinette was forced to go to the back. Alya gave her a sympathetic look.
Although he hadn't seen it because he was trying to focus on the empty whiteboard. Yes, empty.
The lesson passed the first few minutes without incident.
At least before Lila turned to Adrien and slid closer, and began talking.
She said something to him, to which he nodded blankly. Then she giggled quietly and placed a hand on his shoulder.
Adrien moved away uncomfortably.
What does she think she's doing? Marinette thought, narrowing her eyes at the girl.
However, before she could speak up, Chloé said rather loudly, "Hands off Adrikins, Rossi," she snapped.
Ms Bustier turned around from whatever she was writing on the board and gave Chloé and Lila sharp looks.
"What seems to be the problem here?"
"I was just asking Adrien what you said a few seconds ago, Madam," Lila lied innocently. "Sometimes I can't hear a few words."
"Actually—" Chloé began, but Ms Bustier had already turned around to continue the lesson.
Lila didn't make another move during class.
But Nino made sure to tell Ms Bustier at the end of class, and after a statement from Adrien, Lila swapped seats with Sabrina.
Chloé was more than happy to agree, since sitting with Lila guranteed no rubbish would pass through class.
As long as Adrien was away from that despicable girl, anyway.
Perhaps Lila hadn't done anything to be serious enough to out and ruin her own (Lila's life) yet, but pretty soon she'd be digging herself a deeper hole.
Now that the whole class was informed of her not so subtle unwanted...flirting with Adrien— (Alix was positively ticked at just hearing the word) — it was safe to say that everyone took Lila's next lies with a grain of salt.
A/N: not my best oneshot, but more are to come ! :D
