Despite popular belief, Adrien wasn't stupid, naive maybe but not stupid. In fact, Adrien like to think he was pretty smart, after all he managed to get the most amazing girl in Paris to date him.

Marinette truly was the best thing in his life, she gave him a home when his own felt suffocating. The girl jumped through hoops to please his father and be with Adrien. Adrien knew that he truly was the luckiest man alive to have such a dear and devoted girlfriend.

Yet he also wasn't stupid, Adrien knew his fame would complicate things. When he had been suspected of dating in the past the media had a field day. It mattered not that the girls in question were merely friends of Adrien, they all received either love or threats. Mainly about breaking Adrien's heart. As such when he started dating Marinette he warned her of his crazed fans, she had merely laughed at his concern. When he had tried to make his concerns known she had silenced him with a smile and said she would handle it.

It seemed like she was going to do good on that promise as Adrien had heard nothing but respect being spoken in regards to Marinette.

As vain as it was to assume people would hate Marinette due to their relationship Adrien was happy to admit that wasn't the case. What was the case however was the number of threats Adrien got. Many people were standing in Marinette's corner, from the girl's parents and best friend to literally all of the people Adrien worked with. It seemed Marinette was his good luck charm as all the models, designers and directors had fallen in love with her. Adrien was sure she put some kind of spell on the baked goods she brings to shoots.

The last person he expected to have any Greif off however was Nino. The man had invited Adrien around to do some studying when he had gotten uncharacteristically serious. He placed his book own and turned to Adrien

"Don't hurt her" he had said suddenly. Adrien looked up confused

"Who?"

"Marinette, don't hurt her" Nino repeated. Adrien froze, he had never seen his best friend be so serious before. So, he nodded, slightly scared of the look on Nino's face.

"I mean it Agreste, you may be my best friend but I will go to jail if you hurt her" he insisted. Adrien wanted to feel annoyed, surely Nino should not feel this protective over someone who was not his girlfriend?

"I would never hurt Mari; you should know that Nino and besides shouldn't you be going to jail for Alya, not Mari?" he asked. Nino scoffed

"Alya is more than capable of looking after herself-"

"So is Marinette" Adrien interrupted. Nino sighed

"I know, Mari is tough but that's why I'd go to jail for her. She never asks for help, Alya would that's the difference. Mari has been through a lot... she's helped me through a lot and I owe her."

Adrien gulped, he never knew how close Nino and Marinette actually were, he knew that they had grown up together.

"I promise if I hurt her, I'll... I'll let you kill me. Nino Marinette is the most important person in the world to me."

His best friend nodded, clearly pleased. He picked up his book and continued reading, leaving Adrien whirling. He never expected to be threatened by anyone over Marinette, well except maybe Alya and her parents. Yet as he stared at Nino, he decided that none of them held a candle to the quiet aura of his best friend. Marinette was truly lucky to have Nino as a best friend.
