A/N: I've been swamped with school. I've got so many good WIPs. Just be patient with me please . Anyway, here's a quick and light fanfic that immediately popped into my head after today's episode.
"She is my baby!" Weredad bellowed while battling the city's superheroes. One of which, unbeknownst to him, is the very same darling daughter he swore to protect.
To everyone's surprise, Chat Noir seemed to falter for just a split second after hearing the statement.
The black-clad hero sputtered before blurting the words out, "no, she's my strong princesse!"
Everyone paused at that, and even Chat himself looked like he was caught off guard by his own statement. He was perplexed at how the words came so naturally to him, and how they rolled off his tongue like water cascading down a gentle stream.
Ladybug recovered first, cheeks burning a bright red. Like lit embers in a fireplace during winter. "What?"
"What?" Chat asked, still dumbfounded and in shock while coming to terms about what he just said.
"Do you have a crush on Marinette, Chat Noir?" Everyone chorused like they rehearsed this very line. Even Shadow Moth's mark reappeared in front of the akumatized villains' faces, presumably asking the same thing.
Chat Noir's feline-like green eyes widened at the direct confrontation and a faint pink blush peeked from under his jet-black mask.
The Chat in questioned cleared his throat and looked away, "who doesn't though?" He murmured shyly. "She's talented, pretty, kind, and a good leader. Only a blind person won't adore her."
Whispers of agreement were exchanged between the formerly feuding group. Except of course for Ladybug's squeaks of surprise.
The spotted hero tried to take her focus off of her civilian self and her partner's indirect confession. God, did he fall for her twice?!
But so what if he did? It's not like she's been suppressing a huge crush for Chat Noir all this time, right? It's no big deal. No big deal.
EXCEPT IT WAS A BIG DEAL BECAUSE SHE'S BEEN HARBORING A HUGE CRUSH FOR CHAT SINCE THE START.
"ANYWAY—" Ladybug interjected. "—I personally think that no one owns Marinette. She's capable of making her own decisions, don't you think?" She felt weird and cocky for praising herself but if that was what it took to shift the focus away from her hopeless love life, then she just has to take that bullet.
"M'lady is right. Marinette is a smart and lovely girl. She knows what's best for her." Chat backed her up. "She's strong and independent, it's one of the reasons why boys and oftentimes even girls just fall at her feet. Practically worshipping the ground she walks on."
"Chat!" She chided, cheeks involuntarily flushing in embarrassment.
"What?" Chat raised his brow at her. "Have you seen Kagami Tsurugi, Adrien Agreste, and Luka Couffaine's intense heart eyes at Marinette?"
"He-heart eyes?!" She sputtered.
Her dearest family answered for her, "Those kids look at our Marinette like she hung the moon and stars for them. You really need to be less blind, Ladybug."
"Marinette's love life aside, shouldn't we be fighting?" Ladybug hurriedly cried out. Sounding desperate for a subject change.
"Oh, right," Chat nodded.
A lucky charm and a cataclysm later, the Dupain-Cheng family has been purified and everything has been returned back to normal.
Well, as normal as it can be after hearing her partner confess to having feelings for both sides of her.
She shut her trap door, sank to the floor, and sighed. It's gonna be a long year, especially in the matters of the heart.

And yes you can bet that Gabriel is furious after Chat confessed his feelings for Marinette. Doesn't that pesky hero know that Marinette Dupain-Cheng is his future daughter-in-law?! He needs to back off his son's future wife!
