Hello, everyone. This story has been on my computer ever since Master of the Mountain came out, but I never actually posted it. THougth today would be a good day to do it, so here it is. Hope you enjoy!
King Vangelis had been defeated, and Shintaro was at peace once again.
As Vania, the ninja, the Upply, Wu, and the Shintaran guards came out of the dungeon, Jay felt very uncomfortable. He was standing right next to a giant spider, and he hated spiders more than anything. Of course, his last experience with one was in a different timeline and the spider was extremely poisonous, but they still freaked him out.
"Wh-when were you planning on leaving?" Vania asked Cole as she watched her father be dragged away from them, heading towards the dungeons.
"I don't know," Cole said as he rubbed the back of his neck. "We've already stayed longer than we were planning."
"Will you at least stay for my coronation?" Vania asked him. "It shouldn't be too long from now. If everyone helps it'll be two days, at most."
"Of course, Princess," Cole said as he bowed slightly to her.
Jay felt a little relieved that they were going to stay in Shintaro for a few more days. He was too tired to go back home.
"If you don't mind, I'd also like for you three to stay," Vania told the Upply.
"Korgran would be happy to attend crowning!" Korgran said as he raised his ax, "and ax, who does not talk."
"You mean, we get to stay in a palace for the night!" Plundar said excitedly.
"Yes, Plundar," Vania answered.
"But where will Adam sleep?"
"I wouldn't mind having such a harmless creature in the palace," Vania replied as she petted the spider.
Jay's relief turned to downright dread when he heard this. He would have to spend the night in the same building as a spider!
"I can't do this, Nya!" Jay yelled that night. The two were in the room Nya was staying in.
"What can't you do?" Nya asked him.
"I can't spend the whole night in the same building as a spider," Jay told her. "I'd rather have that cage the Skull Sorcerer put us in!"
"Jay, the Upply are three floors above us. You'll be fine," Nya told him.
"That's not who I'm worried about," Jay said as he looked down at his feet.
"Hey," Nya said as she turned his head to face her. "I'm fine. No one's coming to hurt me. Adam's a nice spider. And even if he wasn't, his venom isn't poisonous. It'll be alright, Jay."
Nya gave Jay a quick peck on the cheek before saying, "You should probably get to bed. We have a big day tomorrow, helping with the coronation and all."
"Okay," Jay sighed, but his nerves had not gone down in the slightest.
The lightning ninja traveled back to his room. He got into the bed which was so comfy he could've fallen asleep immediately, but he was too scared to do that. What if Adam really was poisonous or mean to new people he meets? What if he hurt Nya? Jay looked at the ceiling, eyes drifting down, but no! He had to stay awake. He had to protect Nya. Jay tried to keep his eyes open. He tried to stay awake, but he was so...sleepy...
Jay woke up to some sort of clicking sound. He opened his eyes to a still extremely dark room, but he saw something on the ceiling. A huge black body with eight thinner legs. Jay's eyes went wide, and his breath caught up in his throat.
"Oh, this is it," Jay thought.
Jay wanted to scream for help, but he was too scared, he could hardly breath.
Adam walked towards Jay's head, but that scared Jay so much that he fell out of the bed. So Adam went to the other side of the ceiling and climbed down the wall. As Jay began to get up, he saw Adam's face in his own. Jay screamed a bit as he got up fast and ran to the other side of the room. As he was trying to figure out the doorknob, he felt some sort of nudge on his leg. Jay slowly looked down at the spider who was now rubbing his head on Jay's leg.
"Do you...like me?" Jay asked the spider. Some of the nervousness was slipping away, but he was still ready if Adam decided to attack.
The spider looked up at him and gave a happy little chitter.
"I-I guess you're not that bad," Jay said as he began making his way back over to the bed.
Adam looked as if he was smiling as he crawled over to the foot of the bed and lay down on the floor. IN just a few seconds, Jay could hear the quiet chittery snores that came from the spider, and he couldn't help but feel calm now.
"Yeah, you aren't bad at all," Jay sighed contently as he lay down in his bed.
"Nya's never gonna believe this," he muttered to himself as he fell asleep.
So, yeah. Hope you liked it. Sorry it was so short. Feel free to leave a review if you'd like.
Have a great day/night!
