I own nothing except the stuff I made up!

The world that was a prison

He got up and quickly and quietly snuck outside. The Castle was at the top of a large hill overlooking the rest of the city, which looked kind of grungy and worn down. It wasn't a large city there were a few nice looking houses near the edge of the main town though. There was a downtown that was basically reminiscent of smaller early day cities with older looking houses. With newer buildings popping out around the main center while it looked lively Kiro, knew full well many business had shut down falling out to the larger ones. This was because Corrum who ruled and ran this world hadn't been taking good care of it.

A Castle springs up in the center as older buildings creak up around it despite the sun flying high in the sky as this happens the city is covered in a thick layer of black as the name
Civitis Ombrato
comes up. The city and castle then burst apart wildly as it disappears.

Kiro had spent the wee hours of the night training. He had too he had promised a 'presentation' today in the form of showing off various spells and attacks he had learned. He had regained thunder magic in his dream and still had it. He was quickly charging mana to quickly relearn spells. Feeling his mana burn hot he focused and quickly unleashed a fire spell. He practiced it a few more times before moving onto to throwing his Keyblade around to preform strike raid. Eventually he got the hang of it.

He then worked on what was going to be the center piece of his performance. As much as he felt like a circus monkey planning it out like this. He had too thinking back on the day his life changed. He was only nine years old.

Kiro woke up he found himself in the garden of a castle. The last thing he remembered was a huge light that was meant for him engulfing his parents. Once the memory had played out in his head he jumped up and began running around screaming for his parents.

"You won't find them. They've suffered a terrible fate protecting you." Said a man Kiro turned to find a well-kept older man in his early sixties. He had cold light blue eyes with black short hair. With a mustache curling down around his mouth, on his chin was a small pointed tuft of hair. His shirt was white and puffy but kept under a purple vest with gold rimming the holes where his arms stuck out. There was gold rimmed at the bottom as well. A matching gold scarf stuck out elegantly above the three buttons in the middle of the vest. The way it pointed down it acted a bit like a bodice. He had simple brown gloves a simple black belt grey pants and onyx colored boots with a couple of belts on them.

"What do you mean?" Kiro asked sadly his t-shirt and shorts torn a little. "Are they…."

"No," The man replied simply. "But they're suffering a fate worse than death because of you. I can peer into people's minds and see their memories. And saw how much of a brat and a coward you were. It's quite pathetic really…I guess they simply loved too much." He said about to turn away.

"Wait! I need to save them I need to make up for my mistake. I can learn something the power of waking but I need to be strong enough to handle it! Please help me get too."

"Do you really think anyone you knew would look at you or even want to help you again without selfishly you acted? Especially the potential teacher you spurned." The man asked. "You beyond being the typical burden, a child is. You got two of their closest friends into a horrible fate worse than death. They're not going to help you."

Kiro thought for a moment yeah he had over reacted to his Uncle Riku being his master instead of his father like he wanted. "I…..Didn't mean to….." he said sadly. "I just want my parents back even just to tell them I'm sorry…." Kiro got on his knees. "Please help me think of something. I'm begging you!"

The man looked at him for a moment Kiro didn't see the smirk on his face. But he quickly changed his expression to speak. "You're in luck I happen to know the power of waking and." He said summoning a Keyblade. It was black with a light colored indent in the shaft and one of the teeth. It had a couple of holes near the main tooth but the first two before the arrow pointed one that crossed over the main blade were curved. The Handle was black as well with a simple gold guard with a blue gem in the middle. The Keychain was a gold silver and blue locket surrounded by a purple heart. "I am a Keyblade Master, if you become my Student I'm going to work you hard! But you will learn the Power of Waking"

"I'm ready anything to show how sorry I am, anything to get my parents back please teach me."

It had been three years since that day. Kiro had made progress only to lose almost instantly. It took him a few months to figure out what had been going on. He couldn't understand Corrum. He was the one resetting him. At first he thought he was doing something wrong. He even tried rebuilding himself as a more attack oriented fight style. Only for it to feel so alien and wrong, that not only did it frustrate him to fight in a way that wasn't him or not even what he was used too. His Mana had built up and had no good way to be released. Resulting in him feeling like had had downed six cups of strong coffee afternoon right before going to bed, speaking of that. It had led to several sleepless nights before he reset his own power, only to get a major scolding from Corrum. He had tried talking with Corrum every chance he thought was a good one. Only to be sent away for being a 'whiny nuisance.' "Why is he doing this to me Maybe he never wanted to help me?" Kiro thought as he did some flow motion to get the memory of it under his belt. Once he was done with that he decided to work on a move he came up with himself. His parents had praised him for it. But Corrum had nothing but destructive criticism for it. But it was all he had, Ars Sonic. Kiro began to charge up energy in his feet he could feel the mana going up and down his spine, However as he was about to unleash the attack.

"Lost your powers again?" said a voice he ignored it but a burst of ice forced him to jump away. He turned and glared.

"Really, Kaen?!" Kiro snarled in the direction of the older teenager, Corrum's first student. He was about sixteen with short white hair. A few bangs windswept in a way they stuck out on the right side of his head. He had a tall white collar his shirt being asymmetrical was black on one side with a bit of cloth that with a button pulled slightly over the brown half. He had navy boots and black pants with a grey belt. He had metal sleeve like shoulder pad armor. The one on the left was Black with silver pin stripes on the edges. The one on his right arm was the reverse of this. Around his wrist was a small white gauntlet with a black V pointing up overlapping, a silver one with a button nestled in the middle. Kiro didn't have armor he was never allowed to leave this world because Corrum not only thought he was too weak but didn't want Kiro to embarrass him.

"Corrum's looking for you." Kaen said simply.

"Well maybe he shouldn't take my power away. If he wants me to be around in the morning." Kiro spat.

Kaen let out a small laugh. "Keep talking like that. And you'll end up with another scar, like the one under your headband." Kiro felt his hand go up to the white cloth he had tied around his head matching the simple white battle attire he had. The Clothes he had when he met Corrum had gotten way too small for him now about a year ago. He remembered hearing the towns folk talking badly about his father Sora. He immediately started yelling at them only for Corrum to get angry. And drag him away, Kiro shouted at him. And demanded not to be talked down too. Shouting about how he won't stand for his father being belittled like that. Corrum reacted with his Keyblade slashing at him. He was lucky he didn't lose an eye or his head. That was two years ago.

"Fine," Kiro sighed. He followed Kaen back to the castle. Kaen wasn't nearly as bad as Corrum. But he was his own brand of mean and annoying. And usually added his own two cents when Corrum was yelling at him. Other than that he challenged Kiro constantly and would win every time. And of course.

"So how's that coveted power of waking coming along?" Kaen chided. Kiro didn't say anything. He glared silently, as they entered the gate and reached the stairs. "Fine, don't tell me. I'm not the one in trouble anyway." He sneered. Kiro followed Kaen reluctantly. He eventually climbed the steps of the castle. Corrum was looking at him with sheer fury in his eyes. Kiro had to bite his tongue like it or not Kaen was absolutely correct about how he would react.

"Where have you been?!" he growled. "You promised a showcase of your skills."

"Just doing a few last minute preparations," Kiro explained.

"You couldn't have, done that yesterday you lazy idiot!?" Corrum growled 'conveniently' forgetting that he had Kiro doing basic techniques. That were, meant for five year olds learning to use the Keyblade all day.

"Kiro I guess not." He sighed resisting the urge to add. That Corrum wouldn't let him under his breath. They soon headed into the courtyard of the castle. Where Kiro began showing off various spells. Trying to look as impressive as possible. His hatred of Corrum, allowed him to use a powerful looking Bio spell on a target. He showed off forms and techniques and flow motion. He shot off several spells. Corrum smiled to himself, when they were simple first tier spells. He then used some magic without anyone seeing and a large Monster had come in. It was bull like creature. With a lion's head and large sharp teeth. With front bear paws with very sharp claws. And spear like hooves at the back a Behemoth. Kiro gasped this wasn't supposed to be part of the presentation. He wasn't ready or relearned to take this thing out quickly. He had to use Ars Sonic He quickly got the feeling again and dashed when it the tingling went throughout his legs too he zipped around landing quick but deep slices in the monster. But suddenly, he tripped on his own feet. And was trapped under the monster that reared up.

"Stopza!" Corrum shouted, freezing the beast. "That was pathetic!" he snarled. "You promised high level spells! You said you had all third tier spells! And with all your, boasting that beast should've been no problem for you."

"I'd never said I'd fight a Behemoth! not to mention yo- err I mean someone stole my powers! I was sabotaged!" Kiro argued.

Corrum growled shaking his head. "All you do is lie and make excuses. All while being a weak untalented piece of sludge. You clearly couldn't hold on to your own power."

"What? Losing it myself that's not-"Kiro started to say. Only to have Corrum's Keyblade, right at his throat. He shrunk back trying to look submissive.

"The only thing you're good at. Making, yourself look like coward and kissing up to people. Your father would be so ashamed of you." Corrum scolded coldly. Making Kiro hang his head wishing he wasn't right. "You'll never, save your parents obviously! Get out of my sight." He said turning away and leaving.

"We are so disappointed in you Kiro." Kaen said in a mock disappointed tone as he walked off. Kiro sucking in a breath, resisting the urge to cry. Ran off into the forest. He went to a secret archery range he had made. It wasn't anything special and someone much dumber than him could've made it. He transformed his Keyblade and fired some shots letting, himself get lost in it. He loved Archery. It made him feel cool, and discovering on his eighth birthday. That he could channel magic into arrows was the best memory of his life. But he couldn't even enjoy his happy memories. With the fact he had caused his parents inexplicable amounts of pain gnawing at him. He sat down.

As he began to return to town. He heard people talking about him glancing at him and huddling close. But still whispering loudly in a pathetic attempt to make it so he couldn't hear.

"I heard he summoned a behemoth and endangered the whole town. To try and make, himself look better." Said one woman, "Reminds me of how that skunk-bag Sora. Was found out about Thanos twelve years ago."

"He's just as lazy and selfish as his father. That red headed brat." A man said Kiro glared at them they noticed, and quickly shooed away. He wanted out of this awful world. The words of the voice came back to him.

Run Kiro run far away from that man….

Maybe he should. His father had been self-taught and did wonderful amazing things, his Uncle too. Just then another person nearby said, almost as if to antagonize Kiro. "It's a wonder how that brat exists with how awful Sora is. Probably done by force," he added. Kiro's temper immediately flare how dare he suggest his father take advantage of his mother. Kiro immediately went to attack but was dragged back by one of Corrum's guards. "Don't you dare; brat!" Kiro sighed hanging his head. Before he spoke again. "Kaen has been sent to three new worlds, so Corrum needs you on guard duty."

"I take it, to build some bridges and get cozy with these world leaders?" Kiro asked sardonically.

"You watch your tongue you little magical freak." The guard snarled Kiro didn't flinch or move simply glared back at him. He raised his Keyblade and blasted him with a deep sleeping spell. This guard was one of the dumb ones. And by the time he woke up and told, Corrum. He'd be long gone! He raised his Keyblade and opened a large portal and ran through it focusing on Kaen as much as it made his skin crawl.

Seven orbs circle around before lining up and moving around the screen with a blanket of light that show several castles a large island with an angel statue on it. Before zipping out in several directions a staff with a bird on the end thrusts down in the middle as the words form around it
Land of Sages
The title becomes orbs of light itself before flying up.

For the first time in a long time Kiro felt relief and freedom. He was going to find his parents and the power of waking his own way. No more Corrum, no more Kaen! Part of him wished he did this a long time ago. The twelve year old red head looked around and noticed a book. It was face down and open he picked it up. Despite being a thin as a post, he was an avid reader as well as liking archery. The only books Civiti of Ombrato had; were books about how great and glorious Corrum and his ancestors were. Kiro gagged a little at the thought. Kaen was probably nearby. But he had no intention of finding him. He'd be going at random; but it was much better than staying in that awful city any longer. He read the page that the book had been opened too.

"The Moon Shadow Realm: A realm spoken in legend. It is said the caretaker overlooks the dreams of the world. Beautiful music from this place. Can sometimes be heard in one's dreams sometimes. If you have; you've come close to this mystical realm. This magical place is said to grant any wish. It is said the Doorway between this world and the Moon Shadow Realm. Is a shadow in the shape of a doorway, cast by the full Moon." Kiro let a sound of intrigue leave his throat. But he had work to do and decided to return the book. After asking around he eventually found. That it came from a wizard's shop, of magical items and the like.

"Excuse me sir? I think someone dropped this?" he said holding up the book gingerly in his hand. "I used magic to fix any damage." Kiro added.

"Ohhh!" the man said in relief of his missing book. "Thank you! The Prince ran off with that this morning thinking it was a spell book. He's trying to get out of the initiation." He sighed.

Kiro's heart lit up a bit. He couldn't help but smile. It was the first time. Someone thanked him for anything in a long time. "Let me get you some new clothes." he suddenly said, bringing Kiro out of his thoughts.

"Oh! No, no, that's not necessary!" Kiro quickly said.

"Oh please I insist. Those clothes look very uncomfortable. And you'd be surprised how much a boy grows, in a short span of time." the Wizard said.

"Well if you insist but do you…..ummm" Kiro started.

"I can make something to your liking if you wish. No need to be shy." The man said.

"Really?!" Kiro said pleasantly surprised. "Thank you!" Kiro made some specifications for the outfit with a bit of magic. And holding still for his measurements. The outfit was finished and he had put it on. His bright blue eyes, shining brightly at himself in the mirror. A white headband; that contrasted his spiky dark red hair. With black tips a keyhole negative space separating the two colors. His Sleeveless jacket, the tips were his arms went through, were rimmed in white. Were black on the top brown on the bottom; though the back was completely black. He had a white split keyhole line split the colors. And over them were a couple of lone yellow belts going up. Just for decoration. There were also black and white checkered pockets rimmed in red. The middle of the jacket which hung open was a red tinted orange. Underneath that was a red shirt the tips of the sleeves in a black and white checkered pattern. The long gloves going to his elbow had this pattern only orange and tan. But were black with red pinstripes on the holes. Where the fingers stuck out. He also had an orange and tan archer glove over top of them. They were triangle shaped with one finger in the middle all rimmed in that orange.

His pants which had red and brown pockets; that were poking out from under his jacket. Were mostly black with white thick pin stripes, just below the knees. The pants curved inward. From there having a small patch of tan. With a red and black checkered pattern at the tips of them. His shoes were black and white an angled stripe of red separating the two colors. A Silver crown on both sides of each shoe. Sat simply but proudly. The front sported a simple orange stripe. The tongue was brown tipped with red with red laces. The bottoms were a very dark navy with some indents on the front implying air pockets under the feet with a yellow gel orb in the heels.

"I love it." Kiro said happily. It felt so comfortable too. He gave the man all the money he had on his own insistence. He was ready to take on the world. What he wasn't ready for was a pair of emerald eyes staring right at him. That was framed in somewhat spiky black hair tied back in a ponytail with fair skin. The girl had a powder blue choker. With a light marine blue dress. The neck and sleeves rimmed with purple and small triangles. Connecting to the pattern of the sleeves, with a black and regular blue pattern around the pleated skirt. She also had a simple purple belt with some folds in it. And a silver ring for the belt buckle; she also wore a grey vest. With a black and white checkered collar. And a teal pinstripe around the bottom with an angle patch at the middle. She also had blue leggings purple ribbons around her legs and blue shoes with a navy clip and a lavender tongue.

"Hello what's your name?" She asked talking to him making his eyes go wide as saucers.

"Uhh duh uhh Kiro!" he said quickly recovering himself feeling awkward and nervous. Hopefully he didn't smell.

"Hey why don't I take you to meet my friends." She said grabbing Kiro's arm and being pulled along he heard the store owner chuckle as he was quickly being pulled out into town. "Was he being kidnapped by this random girl? Felt like it she had a tight grip. And was going so fast Kiro could only keep up….still better than being with Corrum.

Kiro: I am a Young Keyblade Wielder and the son of Sora and Kairi. I lean heavily towards magic in my battle style just seems right. For three years I went under the tutelage of a cruel horrible Keyblade Master named Corrum, In order to learn the power of waking and be strong enough to use it. So far Corrum has used this as a means of abuse and torment against me. Unable to stay any longer I left hoping to harness that power on my own

Kaen: One of Corrum's other students, Cocky and Sardonic. Like me he too has powerful magic, but relies more on attacks and underhanded tactics in fact his magic is made more for confusion poison and other status ailments as opposed to pure combat. He seems to have some special ability he's kept to himself as well. While hasn't been as cruel towards me as Corrum. He's quick to jump in to the torment.

Master Corrum: A Cruel awful sadistic Keyblade Master that runs his own world. And takes active pleasure in criticizing me, putting me down and seeing me fail; I've even seen him smile at me crying once. While he offered help at first it seems that this was a ruse to keep me around for some purpose. He revels in the praise and power his family has held for generations. And for some reason likes to make Dad out as the bad guy something which I know to be nothing more than malicious lies.

Yes I'm trying to write the journal as if Kiro is writing it. Which is kind of is. It won't be mentioned much though Keyblade and Weapon staffs all me.
