So because I know you're out there, no one is paying Nanaki much mind. (Other than Charmles, who is just the way he is,) Because they believe he's a tame rare variation of a Great Saber Cat Monster. They kind of look like him. One of the optional places in the game is Chateau Felix a place where you can get an item that will call one to ride. So I'd imagine that's a famous place even in Argonia. Also yeah I am not going the Pokémon route when dealing with a silent protagonist. Ehro is obviously suddenly voiced and so is another Character we'll see later.
So question what English VA do you think would fit Eight/Hero/Ehro?
I own nothing except the stuff I made up
Can you spare a Shine?
"I hate him!" Kiro groaned clutching the pillow. Zidane, quickly bought him, to scream into. He was sitting on the ground. His mind and heart were swirling, with sheer vitriolic defeated rage. He just wanted to curl up and die.
"Maybe the Goddess, give you strength. And may she give us all strength." Angelo prayed to him and the others.
"Thank you." Kiro muttered as he stood up, "you too Zidane."
"Oi' guv' you ai'nt gonna let the Prince, get away with that? Are ye?" Yangus asked.
Ehro thought for a minute. Kiro could tell he was debating. They needed the Magic Mirror to get into the Dark Ruins and fight Dhoulmagus. But how far, did they have to let, that slimy tub of lard go. To get it? He sighed. "No, King Clavius did everything for Charmless to succeed. And make it look like he did this on his own. He has a right to know." He added firmly.
"You did the final blows, on both the Great Argon Lizard and the first one we fought. And you single handedly killed the second one!" Kiro bitterly pointed out.
"That's not really going to matter, as Ehro is from Trodain. And not a successor to the throne." Nanaki countered, stretching as he got ready to head to the castle.
"Kiro did you really want to help him?" Jessica asked suddenly. Kiro looked up quickly in surprise. "You didn't have to go if you didn't want to." She added in an understanding tone. Did he actually have a choice? It felt, like he didn't; three years of even if he said no it wouldn't have mattered had definitely taken a toll on him.
"I didn't know. I didn't have to." Kiro admitted. "Its fine what's done is done. I'm here now. So I might as well finish what I started. Let's go to the castle." They all nodded as they headed off. As they entered the castle, they could already hear excited chatting. About how Charmless had not only finished the initiation but returned unscathed.
Ehro lead everyone to the throne room. They hung back as Charmless stood proudly in the middle of the room in front of his father surrounded by various nobles and his chancellor who spoke.
"Prince Charmles. Please show us the Argon Heart you obtained." He instructed.
Charmless grinned. He gripped the small sheet that was over his ill-gotten prize. It made Kiro disgusted to see him with such a look of pride on his face. "Ta-dah!" he declared pulling the cloth away. Everyone gasped, Kiro inwardly groaned.
"Why it's enormous!" said a spindly man with glasses and a pointed nose.
"I've never seen an Argon Heart that big!" said a woman. "It must be the biggest in the history of the initiation." She added.
"It's the biggest orb of blood quartz in the history of infuriating that's for sure." Kiro growled in his thoughts.
"He must have slain, quite an Argon Lizard to get a Heart of that size!" A Solider added.
Charmless puffed out his chest his fist on his hips proudly. Kiro rolled his eyes, as did Jessica, Angelo Amei, Zidane and Nanaki. Yangus shook his head in disbelief. Ehro just stared his face was one of disappointed anger. He seemed to have something else on his mind too possibly Medea who was supposed to be wed to this twit. That was definitely it as Kiro could see traces of sadness in his eyes.
"Prince Charmles, present the Argon Heart symbol of your bravery and worthiness to King Clavius." The Chancellor said with glee.
"No, wait!" Clavius said. Ehro seemed to watch closely with interest. Kiro tilted his head in curiosity but looked. Clavius seemed suspicious. He went up to his son and looked down on him.
"Charmles do you swear before the all mighty Goddess, that you obtained this Argon Heart, from an Argon lizard slain by your own hand?" he asked carefully.
"Uh…of couwse fathew," Charmless said in a gentle almost docile tone, that Kiro thought he never hear from that pig. He might've been taken aback from the question given what the deal was.
"Because even if, for example you were assisted by others in battle. I would still recognize your claim to the throne." Clavius pointed out. "But if you obtained it by any other means, I could not recognize your claim to the throne. Is that perfectly clear?" He asked.
"Uh….yes of couwse fathew, I fought the lizawd with my own hands! And, an Fwightfull beast it was too!" Charmless declared.
"Very well, then I congratulate you. I accept this Argon Heart as proof of your true character." Clavius worded in a way in a sharp tone, that Charmless didn't get but Ehro seemed too.
"I think he already knows." He whispered quietly to the others. Kiro saw that one could take this as he did. Charmless' true character was far from anyone who fought an Argon Lizard or honest. As the group dispersed and talked amongst themselves Ehro quietly went over. Kiro stealthily followed.
"I saw everything from up here! I saw my son buy that Blood Quartz from one of the Merchants! Did you even take him to the Royal Hunting Grounds?!"
"Of course we did!" Kiro hissed trying not to squeak or be loud.
"Well," Clavius said calming down. "Out with it you must tell me the truth."
"Well, we did go there and we fought Argon lizards, so, so many Argon lizards!" Kiro said letting off a heaping helping of complaint steam. "But he wasn't satisfied. He wanted one big enough to impress everyone, to take back. We finally got one he was satisfied with, and when he got back we let him go shopping but….that was a mistake…." Kiro finished with a defeated muttered.
"King Clavius, I'm so sorry." Ehro said in a sad tone, knowing what his father had done to give his son a leg up. Only to spit on it, Ehro pulled out the large Argon Heart he had gotten from the great lizard. He handed it to the king.
The Heart sparkled brightly, even in the rising sun. The light reflected disappointed shadows across King Clavius' face. "I see so this is the Argon Heart obtained with your help. Why didn't he simply show it to me?!" the King sighed in a distress tone wishing it hadn't come to this. "I would not have cared about the size! I'm afraid this means that Charmles is far too immature too take the throne…Or a wife." He sighed. He composed himself. "However, that is a matter between Charmles and I. You both did a fine job taking him to the Royal Hunting Ground. Ehro the magic mirror is in the Royal Vault. On the fourth floor, you're free to take it, when you're ready. I've already instructed the guards to admit you."
"Thank you your majesty." Ehro said with a slight bow.
"And I will take this Argon Heart." He added before turning back to the window. "It might prove useful when I need to remind Charmles of his foolhardiness." He added in a low growl. Ehro nodded and he and Kiro went back to the group.
"Fourth Floor, that's where the Mirror is," Ehro said simply.
"He still gave it to you?" Amei asked excitedly.
"Of course, fake or not we held up our end of the bargain. We'll have to keep quiet about the quartz, for now at least." Ehro added.
"Fair enough, let's go!" Zidane added as they headed to the fourth floor. As they did. They came up to a painting where they saw…
"Ehro?!" Kiro asked in surprise. It was a picture of a tall lithe, man with long hair brown the exact shade of Ehro's, that was tied behind him. He was wearing a similar outfit to Charmless, but the hat was similar to Clavius'. save the gold crown like rim on his head. He wore the same pants as Clauvis as well.
"That's not me. But it does explain why Clavius was so surprised, to see me earlier." Ehro replied.
"E' looks jus' like the guv.' I wonder if that means anytin' eh?" Yangus asked.
"Maybe you two are related. And Ehro is a long lost prince or something." Amei suggested.
"No," Kiro said flatly. "No way Ehro's related to Charmless. They're too different to be related. And not just genetically." He said refusing the idea to take hold in his head.
"The possibility of that isn't probable." Angelo added. "There is such a thing as identical strangers."
That sounded better and more logical. Like Angelo said it wasn't probable. They continued upward and Ehro went into the vault, which was surrounded by ornate treasure and jewelry. It sat in the center of the room on a pedestal. It was small in the shape of a long hexagon and silver. The actual mirror part was small and round, with an outer blue rim with small blue jewels at four points, with odd writing on the side. One of the men from earlier had come over to talk to Ehro. He was examining the Mirror.
"That's odd I don't sense any magic power in it. Bereft of its magic power, it is simply an everyday mirror." He said. "Could someone have snuck in and tampered with the mirror while it slept in the vault? Nevertheless even without its power it is still a priceless royal treasure."
"How do we get it its magic back?!" Kiro asked quickly.
"It's important we have its power." Ehro added calming Kiro down.
"So the power of the Mirror, is central to your Errand? I see, I see, let me think." he muttered wracking his brain. Kiro could see the gears turning. He came up with something quick enough. "The Mirror itself does not appear to be damaged. So you should be able to recharge the mirror by exposing it to the right kind of magic so to speak."
"Wow you sure know your stuff." Amei said in surprise.
"Thank you my dear the man who taught me is a wizard, who was an expert on magical treasures. I'm sure he would know how to re-energize the mirror." The man said.
"Does he live in town?" Kiro asked, wondering about the wizard who gave him clothes earlier.
"No, actually he was long since retired, spending his days in seclusion in his home deep in the western forest." The man replied.
"Can't be too far come on lets go." Ehro said before he remembered how stressed and angry Kiro was before. "Kiro you don't have to come if you don't want to." He added.
Kiro shook his head with a small smile. "It's fine. I'll be much better off without having to deal, with his royal turd, believe me." Kiro assured. "Also now I'm kind of curious to see what this mirror looks like charged. Sometimes things like this change color when they're in their prime."
"Looks like you know a little bit about these things too!" Ehro said impressed. Kiro grinned at this. Amei then went on and on about what she knew about magic which Kiro enjoyed. Now that he thought about it. She had a nice bubbly voice to listen too, much better than the spoiled, nasally, demanding one Charmless had.
The group made their way through the forest. Local Monsters were fighting off Heartless. So they didn't give the group much trouble. Heartless however were a bit more vicious. When they did attack them, they seemed to target Medea. Which Trode when on a massive tirade about and personally declared war on all Heartless for it. Kiro had sensed a strong light from Medea the other day. And his parents told him that Princesses of Heart, maidens with Hearts of pure lights. Due to their hearts containing pieces of a powerful Keyblade known as the X-blade within them. Could Medea be one of the current seven Hearts? He didn't have time to ponder on that much however, as a small cabin came into sight.
"That mus' be it!" Yangus declared.
"I definitely sense magic here," Nanaki added.
"Me too, I wonder if he's inside?" Kiro added.
"Only one way to find out," Amei said walking up to the door and knocking on it. When there was no answer she tried turning the door knob.
"Amei!" Zidane hissed running after her with the others in tow. There was no one inside. Except a dummy across the room, Ehro went up to it.
"Me stupid, so I no, know what you say." The dummy monster replied. Suddenly a small blue tear dropped shaped monster with a perpetual smile on its face jumped up onto the table.
"I wouldn't talk to him if I were you. He doesn't speak human. So he always says the same thing." It said. Upon closer inspection Kiro could see it had the look and texture of putty. Stretching and squishing with every movement. Kiro found it a little bit cute. Amei seemed to back away a little.
"Maybe you can help us then," Ehro suggested, kneeling down a little to make eye contact with the slime. "We're looking for the old man who lives here."
"Well, people say I'm most contrary Slime that ever lived. The old man isn't here. And I'm not telling you where he is either! See Contrary." The Slime giggled. Ehro sighed straightening up. The Slime was annoying but nowhere the nightmare that Charmless was. That made him a lot less cute.
"We're going to have to find him ourselves." Ehro said simply.
"Nanaki can sniff him out!" Zidane suggested, grinning and raising a finger a little. "Kept, that little talent a secret from Charmless."
"Good on ya, no tellin what the Prince would've done with that!" Yangus said.
Nanaki began to sniff the ground. Kiro wondered if he knew what to look for Nanaki went upstairs and sniffed a coat hanging on the wall. "Follow me," he said heading out the door. Nanaki headed up a path near the house as they followed Kiro could see a faint almost mystical glow at the end of the trees. The Sun was beginning to set now, and it turned the tall pine trees into eerie walls of dark spines. Not helped by the slight tall walls of rock. Amei and Jessica used their staffs to provide light via magic but soon the light got bigger almost like they didn't need too.
They soon saw a short old man with very long white hair a black pointed hat and a purple robe with a gold string belt. He was holding a staff with a silver end and a large blue jewel in the middle.
"Ahh hello there," he greeted warmly. "It's been some time since I've had some visitors." The Seer said.
"You're not worried we could be…" Kiro asked trailing off.
"I can tell you pose no harm young Keyblade Wielder." He said.
"A Keyblade; is that what your sword is called?" Ehro asked.
"Ye…yeah…." Kiro replied hesitantly. "Sorry,"
"I've heard of Keyblade Wielders. The Church doesn't think too highly of them." Angelo warned.
"I believe Kiro is trust worthy." Ehro said.
"Maybe, Legends do say they are saviors of the world. But one legend says that Keyblade Wielders destroyed the world and fractured it." Trode pointed out, Kiro gulped.
"I agree with granddad, if Kiro wanted ta hurt us, 'e'd have done it already." Yangus added.
"You can trust this boy and his companions, you're majesty do not fear." The seer assured, before focusing on Medea as he turned to them. Kiro could see had a large nose and closed eyes. But that didn't seem to stop him from seeing. "And what have we here, such an exquisite beauty. I saw many beautiful Princesses back at the castle." The Seer reminisced before continuing. "But you my dear." He said in awe. "You outshine them all, indeed….indeed."
"That's not creepy…." Zidane thought flatly.
"It's easy to see why your fellow travelers guard you so closely." He added everyone then realized he was talking to Medea; they all looked at him in awe and confusion.
"Wot; you say you can see the 'orse princess, all proper like?" Yangus asked.
Trode was nodding proudly. "Of course he can! Even as a horse her inner beauty shines bright! My Darling," The gears then clicked. "Wait a minute!? How can you recognize this horse as my beautiful Princess?!"
"A horse you say?" he asked going over to Medea. "Excuse me Princess," he pardons and felt around her. "Indeed here is her mane and her tail." He chuckled, "she is a horse, curiouser and curiouser! As you can see my sight has failed me long ago, now I see through my mind's eye instead. And what it sees is not a beast of burden. But a Beautiful Princess."
"Can I learn?" Amei asked.
"It takes years of discipline and practice my dear. But perhaps my curious travelers you can tell me what has happened?" It was then Kiro heard the entire story learning of a few other people in the tale Angelo's half-brother Marcello, the Monster arena owner Morrie and Red. But mostly it explained what was already summed up. Dhoulmagus used the scepter of Trodain to curse the King and Princess. And was now on a killing spree. "I see so a curse has been placed upon her. I may just have a way to return her to her former self."
"You do!?" Zidane, Kiro, Trode and Ehro cried together. Trode had immediately jumped up between the three almost like he had teleported from the cart.
"Where, how?!" He shouted surprising Yangus, who yelped and jumped away striking a comical pose.
"COR BLIMEY! Don't sneak up on me like that!" he shouted.
"What are you flapping about?" Trode growled. "I've been here the whole time, you twit." Trode snapped.
"Yes, why don't we give it a try?" The Seer chuckled. "I can't say for sure if it will work. But have her drink from this spring." He said gesturing to the light source that caught Kiro's attention earlier. It was a beautiful sparkling spring Kiro could sense beautiful pure, magic from it. It seems to glow with a bluish purple hue. "It's, enchanted waters have been known to lift curses, why don't you try it and see?" Ehro unhinged Medea from the cart. She walked towards the spring and knelt down to drink from it. After a few swigs she started to glow. She jumped up in surprise and looked down on herself with a bright glow in the Horse's place was now a human girl. The one Kiro saw from the station of Awakening. Blue red and white dress with gold jewelry with beautiful light brown hair and a petite figure. Kiro felt his face blush and shook it off hiding his face.
Ehro and Trode stared in awe, joy and disbelief.
"Father?" she asked in a beautiful soft voice that perked up with happiness. "Father, look, I've returned to normal!" Trode just stood there, she got worried. "What's wrong why aren't you saying anything? Am I dreaming?" she asked. "Or is this some new trickery?"
Trode began to tear up. "No, no my dear, I'm sorry. It's just you take my breath away! Come here and let me look at you!" he said exhilarated rushing to her as she did to him.
"Oh father," she said over joyed.
Trode sniffled. "Medea my dear Medea, I'm so sorry for making you pull the Carriage. It must have been so hard on you. I promise I'll make it up to you!" he sobbed
"Oh no father, you mustn't worry, this isn't about me." She assured. "I'm just happy I could be of service to everyone."
"That's my Medea!" he said proudly. "Now it's about high-time I restore my own visage." He said, with how much he built his human form up. Kiro was curious to see it. Ehro smiled at the girl.
"Clavius wasn't kidding," Zidane grinned lowering his voice to Angelo.
"Indeed." He agreed, but suddenly another glow began to overtake Medea. "Father?! She cried before letting out a cry of pain." Trode who was about to drink turned.
"What's wrong?" he asked only to see her change back. "Oh Medea! My Princess," he said in tears of despair. Medea may have hidden it well, but looking with sheer despair at her eyes at her horse form once again and letting out several distressed neighs, before hanging her head, a tear felling down the side of her cheek.
"Medea…." Ehro said his voice laced with sadness.
"What new devilry is this?! Were our celebrations too premature?!" he cried.
The Seer hummed thoughtfully. "The curse placed upon the Princess, must be powerful indeed. If the waters don't work, there is but one path left open to you. You must find and defeat the one who placed the curse upon her, Dhoulmagus! It is the only way to restore her to her true form. You must persevere not matter how hard and hard the road ahead. And I pray for you success, but now you must excuse me. My old bones get chilled easily." He said heading back to his house all but Ehro, Trode and Medea following.
"Oh my Precious Princess, what a cruel disappointment…" Trode sighed. "Still we must carry on. Let us redouble our efforts to bring Dhoulmagus to account for his sins," he said leaving just Ehro and the Princess.
Ehro knew Medea well. She would try to act like she brushed it off. But her heart was aching to be human again. No doubt she had wanted to scream at Charmless for treating her and her father, so badly. Talk with Jessica, about girl things. No doubt she would've explained things to Red in hopes of being let go. When they had found her at Red's house she had been fettered at the ankle no doubt having tried to run away in the hours it took them to find her. It wouldn't have done him, no hardship to never return to Pickham either. Still it was a nice gesture on Yangus' part. To try and cheer Trode up when he got jealous of them having a feast, at Ascantha. Still he was at least able to vent, which was doing his sanity wonders in the long run. Medea couldn't even speak. She probably missed talking to him. He missed talking to her too. More than any bout of home sickness, or stress from fighting or dealing with brats. More than anything.
He then noticed that Medea was staring at the spring longingly. "Go ahead," he whispered. Medea leaned in to get a drink. The light sparkling around her again. At least they could have one talk before having to move on.
"Medea!" he smiled seeing her human form again. She smiled and put her hands together. She wanted to ask something.
"I'm so sorry to act so selfishly, Ehro but I have a favor to ask. I'm only human for the briefest of moments after drinking this spring. But it would make me very happy if you could bring me back here, every now and then. I'd like to be able talk to you again. Just like we used to back at the castle. "
"Of Course, I'll tell the others, and they'll come too. Then you can talk to them about whatever you want!" Ehro assured excited at any chance until they could break the curse to hear her beautiful voice again.
"Thank you, even if it's for a few minutes, we can forget about the curse if only for the few minutes we share together. I also wouldn't mind…"She said blushing. Ehro blushed back.
"Oh I get it, yeah you and I can just talk together too like back at the castle." He assured.
"There is something I'm worried about," She sighed.
"Charmless- I Mean Charmles." He said quietly.
"Yes, I never expected him to be so, how shall I put it?" She asked not wanting to get too mean.
"Obnoxious?" Ehro offered.
"I suppose," she replied. "Do you think people can change after they've married?"
"Anything's possible, that's what this journey has taught me. Maybe he'll wizen up eventually. Clavius does plan to use the Argon Heart. We got to remind him of his quote on quote, foolhardiness." Ehro comforted. "Also to be fair you were a bit wild and selfish as well."
"I know," Medea chuckled. "I guess I can thank father for raising me so well, and you she joked." Ehro chuckled agreeing with her. He gasped slightly, when he saw her beautiful form sparkle again.
"I can already feel the enchantment wearing off!" she cried. Ehro reached for her, but she changed back. Ehro decided he would definitely come back as often as he could until this nightmare ended. She asked so little of them. It was the least he could do.
Kiro had knocked on the door and entered, he found the old seer in his study. "Excuse me sir?" Kiro asked quietly.
"Ahh, Kiro was it? I didn't expect meet the son of the famous Sora in my life time." he said. Kiro knew legends of his father's Heroism had spread throughout the worlds. He never imagined it was this far. His chest swelled with pride, for his father. Now if he could only stop sucking and live up to that legacy. He suddenly noticed that the man held out a bottle of the spring water to him. F
"For me?" Kiro asked.
"Yes, I can tell you might need it, drink it when you are ready." Cryptic, but Kiro took it. Should he have though? Maybe, he was still, too trusting after all this time. But he saw the effects of the water himself and could tell it was the same water Medea drank from. So it couldn't do any harm to hold on to it.
"Sir we were hoping you can tell us how to recharge the Magic mirror from Argonia. We went through a terrible trial to get it. But we need its powerful light magic to enter the ruins where Dhoulmagus is." Kiro said as the others gathered in behind him Ehro had hung back at the spring with Medea and Trode.
"The Magic mirror is a priceless heirloom. And you're saying King Clavius gave it to you eh? Let me examine, It." he said as Angelo handed him the mirror. He gazed at it. Ehro finally entered with Trode.
"I almost forgot about that, thanks for being on the ball." Ehro said as he entered to listen.
"Ahh this is it the Sun Mirror, what a remarkable feel it has. Ahh, I'll never forget the first time I touched it in Argonia."
"Sun Mirror?" Jessica asked.
"This mirror what you call the Magic mirror is actually called the Sun Mirror. But now that all of its magic is gone. It can't actually be called a magic mirror anymore." The Seer mused.
"There was a bloke at the castle who said the same thing. That's why we came 'ere to see ya. Thought ya could help in some assistation." Yangus explained.
"A way to get magic back into the mirror….yes…" the Seer mused. "I remember hearing long ago. About a spell of blinding light, that was cast upon the sun mirror. That's what gave it such tremendous brilliance. If the Mirror has lost its magic now, perhaps casting the same spell could restore its magical properties. The Problem is I can't remember what the spell was. A spell that casts blinding light, uh hmmm, what a conundrum." Then it hit him. "Ahh, of course! The Sea Dragon's spell! Just north of this land. You will find a stone arch, bridging the straits. A Sailor once told me, of a giant sea Dragon that in the waters there. He said it cast a spell on him that left him blinded for a few moments. I suppose it's possible a bright light such as that could restore, magic too the mirror. You never know it might just work. Try using that mirror to reflect the Sea Dragon's spell! Aha, good luck." He said.
"Good thing we have our own ship!" Ehro said. Kiro sighed in relief.
"Good I was just thinking we'd have to do more for Charmless for Clavius to lend us a ship." He said, shivering.
The group laughed as did he a little they stayed as the house for the night before setting off at Dawn.
Thanks to Ehro's Zoom magic, they had quickly returned to a place called the Sea View Church, where they had left the ship. It was enchanted, no one could steal it.
"Where'd you get a Ship this huge and beautiful?" Amei asked.
"You can thank one of my subjects, Ishmahri from the Moon Shadow Land any my dear Princess Medea." Trode boasted.
"Sounds you share him with the King of Ascantha though." Zidane noted to Trode's annoyance. Another thing Kiro noticed was that it seemed to be a wind powered ship. Wind would blow through a propeller at the top of the crow's nest; then turning several gears and machinery to cause several large paddles to push their way through the water, to get them to their destination. "I saw that arch he was talking about on the way over here."
"So you guys must come from the Eastern continent of this world?" Zidane deduced.
"Yeah that's where all of our homes are, Trodain, Maella abbey, Pickam Alexandria." Ehro listed off.
"That's quite the distance." Kiro mused.
"'E wanted to cut 'hrough that Arch when we first got the ship, with the help of ta 'orse Princess; but the Guv said it was a bad idea; said there were rumors of a huge Sea Dragon causing trouble." Yangus explained.
"Yeah, the sightings just started before Dhoulmagus showed up at the castle. But it looks like we'll be facing it after all." Ehro mused.
"What about Monsters in the sea before we get there?" Nanaki asked. "Didn't you say that the ferries were canceled because of the increase of attacks?"
"Yeah, I've cast a spell to keep the weaker ones away at least, so…." Ehro said slightly worriedly.
"We'll keep them off your back; you just focus on getting the Sun Mirror charged!" Zidane assured.
Ehro smiled with a nod. "Thanks I appreciate that. Don't worry about Heartless, this works wonders against them." Zidane and Amei gave him the thumbs up as Nanaki wagged his tail a little. As promised the three fended off stronger monsters unaffected by holy protection. So Ehro's group could be fresh for the dragon. Soon Kiro saw a beautiful city with an enormous bridge crossing over a huge chasm with unforgiving sea below.
"Is that it?" Nanaki asked as Kiro healed them from their last bought.
"Yeah, get ready you guys," Ehro warned as Yangus, Jessica and Angelo got ready to fight. As Ehro got close to the Arch. He pulled out the Sun Mirror. "I'll hold up the Sun Mirror, cover me until it uses that spell."
"You can count on us Guv!" Jessica assured. Ehro held on to the sun Mirror tightly. Soon the water started to bubble. Surging out of the water and roaring at them was a large Purple and blue, shark like Sea Dragon with a T-Rex to Dragon like head. It had large forearms with giant claws at the end and piercing yellow eyes.
It snapped at Kiro who jumped away and fired a Blizzard spell at it. It brushed off the magic it Swung its tail at them. Amei and Jessica were able to block damage from the move.
"Parallax!" Yangus shouted making a line in the ground with his Axe and then slamming it. Unleashing a burst of blue fire that looked like a skull that slammed into the Dragon, it roared in pain. Nanaki unleashed a Thunder spell at it making it shriek in the air. It looked at the Lion-Hound and roared. Nanaki snarled back.
Angelo used Multi-shot, to hit it several horns and its shoulders making it scream. It reared back a bright light that almost made the Night seem like day in its mouth. "Here it comes!" Jessica shouted.
"Ehro get ready!" Zidane shouted. Ehro nodded and held up the mirror, The Dragon unleashed its powerful Giga-flash attack. Everyone tried to cover its eyes but to no avail Kiro fell back unable to see anything but strange flashes of color swirling even behind his eye lids. But he could sense the intense power of this spell from Ehro's location they had done it. But what if they didn't survive?!
Everyone was struggling to see again. Nanaki meanwhile sniffed out the Dragon. He followed its scent and could sense it going towards Medea and Trode, using that he leapt onto the creature's face and scratched at its eye. The Dragon let out a pained screech as blood began to drip down the side of its face. It wildly thrashed and splashed around trying to get the beast off.
In the time it took for it to do this however everyone had recovered. Ehro placed the Sun Mirror down and unsheathed his sword Zidane had jumped up beside him and was balancing on the rails.
"Nanaki move!" Zidane shouted. He heard them and jumped off as the beast was hit with a Tidal flame from Zidane making it rear back allowing Ehro to hit it with his Dragon Slash near its throat. It shrieked in pain and quickly dove back into the Ocean.
"We did it!" Ehro cheered happily as he held up the Sun Mirror. It now shone a bright gold. The gems were now as red and sparkling as an Argon Heart. And the middle seemed to glow slightly.
"I was right the colors did change!" Kiro said beaming.
"How Beautiful!" Jessica said in awe. "Now we have everything we need to stop Dhoulmagus and avenge those he killed."
"We should rest up come tomorrow that cursed Dhoulmagus will have his long awaited Retribution!" King Trode declared.

They returned to the Mystical Spring and camped near there. Ehro had brought Medea back to the spring to talk with her again. They talked as long as they could. Amei had considering seeing if she could prolong the Enchantment with her own magic. But Zidane stopped her.
"I don't know if there's much you can do. Besides it looks like they need privacy." Zidane said.
"Maybe…." Amei said looking at them, now that she was watching. It did seem like they wouldn't want to be disturbed. She thought about what Kiro said before his feelings not being her business. She supposed it was the same here. Still she couldn't help but feel like she wanted to cry for them. But it would be just one more night. Then the curse would be broken.
The Seer: A Wizard who lives in solitude in the forest. He did however used to work in the Castle of Argonia east of where he lives now. He knows many things about magic like how to properly remove the curse from Trode and Medea. He gave me a little bit of the spring water. Since his physical sight has failed him. He now views the world in a mystical one. Perhaps he could see something in me he doesn't know about? Did Corrum do something to me?! Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King 2004
The Sea Dragon: A Powerful Dragon that may have been aroused by the Darkness Dhoulmagus has been spreading across the world. Its Powerful Signature spell is the mighty Giga-Flash, magic that was needed to charge the Sun Mirror. Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King 2004
Slime: One of many monsters that make itself at home in the Land of Sages. it's kind of cute. Like living putty, Ehro told me that there are other variants. But they all share a similar face. Also little gold statues of it have become popular recently. Dragon Quest 1986
Mud Mannequin: One of many monsters that make itself at home in the Land of Sages. This one can only say one sentence of English though. Which; makes me think, that monsters, have their own language. But need to learn to communicate with humans. I wouldn't call him dumb because of that but he does kind of creep, me out though. Dragon Quest II 1988
