"This is not the school" Hadrian said to himself as he apparated into what looked like a clearing in the middle of the woods sighing he tried to apparate only to end up falling face first on the ground. Groaning he got up and tried again only getting the same result, trying to cast a Patronus to his parents his patroni wouldn't even flicker. "You've got to be kidding me! Screw it" he yelled huffing deciding he would just walk until he found a main road and he would figure it out from there.

"And here I was thinking that coming here my life would become less problematic but noo instead I'm stuck god knows where and I can't even apparate, my Patronus isn't working and I don't know where the fuck I am" He growled

"Your magic is going through changes due to you coming into your true power" He heard the familiar voice in his head say making him stop in his tracks making his eye twitch and his hands ball into fists

"And you couldn't think to tell me that beforehand?" he grouched getting more annoyed at the chuckle he got in response ready to give the insolent creature a piece of his mind but before he could say anything he felt a presence behind him he felt a hand wrap around his throat and his back hit a tree the first thing he noticed were the blood red eyes staring down at him. From the pale skin, strength and red eyes it didn't take Hadrian long to deduce that he was currently being held by a vampire, he stared at the creature grabbing at the wrist around his throat

"How peculiar for a mortal about to die you don't seem to be afraid have you not realized the danger you're in? I could snap your neck and no one would save you Do you know who I am? What I am?" the creatures sultry voice rang out making the hairs on Hadrian's neck stand up. Trying to call on his magic and cursing death to the darkest pits of hell Hadrian couldn't hold it in anymore.

All Hadrian could do was laugh what a perfect time for his magic to be fucked with. No matter who he was whether he was Hadrian Riddle or Harry Potter someone was always trying to kill him and he was getting really tired of it

He laughed so hard his stomach began to hurt making the creature growl and shake him making his head painfully connect with the back of the tree

"What's so funny you stupid boy? I bet if I rip your throat out right now you wont be laughing will you?" it snarled tightening its grip around his throat making Hadrian choke out a groan feeling the nails dig into his neck immediately smelling the familiar scent of blood black spots appearing in his vision. He wasn't going to die like this not after everything he's been through, he wouldn't go down like this

"I don't give a fuck who you are you fucker it won't stop me from killing you" Reaching for his wand from its holster Hadrian tried to wordlessly cast a spell to no avail , snarling he brought his legs up wrapping his legs around the creatures neck yelling as he brought his wand down stabbing the creature in the eye with his wand, dodging the flailing arm he quickly pulled the knife out of his holster he screamed repeatedly stabbing the creature in the chest before unhooking one of his legs and grabbing one of the creatures arms throwing all his way to the side bringing them both to the ground twisting so that he had the creatures arm pulled behind his back and one of his legs still wrapped around it's neck relishing in hearing the arm snap. He pulled the head back whispering "Fuck you" before quickly bashing the head down watching his wand come through the other side, twisting his body at an angle snapping the vampire's neck. Kicking the body away from him he stood up and looked up seeing 5 porcelain faces staring back at him shock written all over their faces immediately noticing their amber eyes and the slight sparkle of their skin but not seeing an immediate sign of a threat he blew a piece of hair out his face and without breaking eye contact reached down to pull his wand from the still vampires' skull he let a wide smile spread over his face.

"You wouldn't happen to have a lighter, would you?" He asked looking through his eyelashes at the 5 vampires looking back at him like they saw a ghost. A lighter land in front of his foot, he swiftly sets the body on fire and walks away leaving the 5 people standing there dumbfounded staring between the burning body and the now vacant spot. They broke out into hushed whispers trying to figure out who the strange boy was.

Hadrian walked picking up all of his school things and found the vampires were still standing where he had left them. For some reason he found their shock quite amusing. Wiping his wand of residue, he tried again and finally managed to cast a patronus though not very strong. Hearing the group gasp as his basilisk made an appearance he wistfully stared at the creature.

"Hey dad my magic is acting up I hope you get this but I didn't make it to school after I apparated I ended up in a clearing and had a bit of a run in with a now lifeless vampire long story I'll explain later, I'm okay I promise I'll try to make my way to school and go from there" finishing his message his patronus left to go deliver the message. Managing to cast a decent glamour to hide the marks on his neck he tried not to wince at the pain.

"I'm sorry can someone please tell me what in the fuck just happened? What the hell was that and who the hell are you?" The blonde woman yelled narrowing her eyes menacingly at him the weak glare not phasing him in the slightest. Hadrian raised an eyebrow rebolstering his wand and knife keeping her gaze. "My name is Hadrian Riddle that was my patronus and just in case you missed it I was trying to not die now if you wouldn't mind, I should probably get to where I was supposed to be, you wouldn't happen to know where Forks High is do you?" he said in a flat tone looking at each person his eyes lingering on the serious looking brunette feeling the world drop from under him for a brief second. Shaking his head, he focused on his wand ignoring the way his heart rate kicked up and his face got hot.

A petite female with short raven hair walked up to him with a cheerful smile holding out her hand to him "Hi! My name is Alice Cullen I figured introductions would be in order before we move any further behind me is my family the two blondes would be Jasper and Rosalie and the big guy is Emmett the stoic one is Edward, we were actually on our way to Forks high we go there but we heard a commotion and wanted to come check it out, but clearly you can take care of yourself" She smiled which oddly comforted him.

"Nice to meet you, could you just point me in the direction I need to head in, because quite frankly I'm already over today" Alice laughed connecting her arm with his and started pulling him in a different direction. Hadrian didn't have it I him to object

"Oh, nonsense just come catch a ride with us like I said we were heading in that direction anyways" the blonde female Rosalie looked ready to protest, Jasper looked at him warily Edward openly stared at him and Emmett just smiled leading them in the direction of where he assumed their car was. The two blondes and Emmett got into a truck while Alice Edward and Hadrian clambered into a silver Volvo.

"So what was the giant snake thing about earlier How were you able to do that?" Edward asked looking at Hadrian while he was driving the stoic brunette was quiet up until that point his voice was oddly soothing

"First off pay attention to where you're driving secondly a patronus is a defensive spell but it can also be used as a means for communication I used it once to battle off a dementor a few years ago. You know? Dementors? The evil soul sucking creatures that terrify even the strongest wizards? Why are you looking at me like that? Haven't you ever seen a wizard? Wait, oh merlin please don't tell me you thought you were the only magical creatures in the world" the look Edward gave him was all he needed to know

"Oh, Merlin, you thought you were the only magical creatures around newsflash you aren't there are hundreds of different magical creatures far more dangerous than you there are Wizards and witches such as me, ogres and trolls and dementors, dark lords, light lords, giant three headed dogs and that just to list what I faced at school" the last part was mumbled but he knew it was heard nonetheless.

"How did you kill that Vampire?" Alice asked him peering at the wand he was twirling in his fingers the same wand that just went through somebody's skull. Sighing Hadrian relaxed into the seat holstering his wand again not making eye contact with the girl

"I grew up in a very dangerous time and I've had a lot of life-or-death encounters and a lot of people try to kill me. I may be a wizard but I never want to solely rely on my wand because there's nothing worse than not being able to use your magic and that being the difference between living and dying. So I just picked up the skills practiced and my magical core does give me some added strength which was how I was able to handle myself against them" stating out loud made the reality of the last 6 years of his life so real made him face what his life really was. What they made him

He heard a gasp and looked in the rear-view mirror to see Alice go stiff as a board with a glazed look over her face. Hadrian looked at Edward with a raised eyebrow silently gesturing to the woman in the backseat thankfully grateful for the much needed shift in conversation. A faint smile crossed over the brunette's face "Alice is a seer, even though were vampires some of us have special gifts" He commented only getting a hum in response said girl had remained quiet recovering from whatever she saw giving him a brief bright smile that was quickly becoming contagious.

"So, what's your special talent?" he asked genuinely interested in learning about the older boy. The side of said boys mouth quirked. "I can read minds" his quiet voice filled the car.

"Try to read mine" at the nod he received making sure to keep his mental shields up Silence filled the car as Hadrian silently mulling over the information, he looked at Edward who was furrowing his eyebrows as he tried to make it past his mental shields and took a moment to study the boy taking an appreciative glance at his face finding himself enjoying listing all the things, he found himself liking about the older boy's face. Focusing back on the road he dropped his mental shields and allowed himself to think about the last conversation him and his best friend had as he felt the presence enter his head.

Draco sat next to Hadrian on the windowsill in the tower both boys taking in the peaceful silence of the night." Are you still planning on leaving?" the blonde asked looking into the raven's eyes already knowing the answer. Hadrian looked at the boy that became his best friend over the last few years the only other person besides his father and Severus that he could fully trust. Leaning his head on the blonde's shoulder breathing in the familiar scent that was oddly calming he nodded his head knowing the blonde felt the movement." Promise me you'll live Hadrian" Draco said still not looking at the raven before Hadrian could respond the blonde continued "I don't mean staying alive Hadrian I'm more than aware you can handle yourself, when I say live, I mean be free Hadrian for once don't be the Golden Boy Don't be the Dark Lords son just be Hadrian because quite frankly after all the shit you've been through being a normal teenager even if it's for a limited amount of time is the least you deserve" Hadrian looked into the blondes gray eyes and nodded pressing their foreheads together his way of showing the older boy that became a brother to him that he was appreciated. "I promise" he whispered

Hadrian was so lost in the memory he didn't notice the memory quickly shifting to the attack the feeling of being tortured the feeling of his body giving up on him the cold hand grabbing his pulled him out of his mind forcing him to take a deep breath he hadn't realized he needed. The look Edward gave him let him know he saw the brief images thankfully the boy didn't ask looking into his eyes he felt like the boy was telling him it was okay to be hurt and scared that it was okay he was scarred. Hadrian stared into his eyes they seemed to be having a silent conversation a moment of understanding. The giggle in the backseat brought them out of their stupor. Hadrian forgot she was even in the car he also realized him and Edward were still holding hands. Hadrian saw a look of shock pass over Edwards's face as he stared intently at his sister.

"If two are done were at school" she commented laughing and climbing out the car leaving them inside the car staring at each other using the time to inform the others of the conversation and newfound information she learned about Hadrian.

Shaking his head, he gave the boy a brief smile and went to detach their hands but the grip on his hand tightened slightly before loosening the grip. Hadrian felt his face beginning to heat up and hurriedly grabbed his things to clamber out the car he went to go open the door, but it opened and he stepped out the car coming face to face with a pair of amber eyes.

"Thank you" he whispered tucking the strand of gray hair behind his ear. A throat being cleared snapped Hadrian back into reality he looked over to see the others staring at them Emmett and Alice looking absolutely gleeful Jasper looked impassive and Rosalie just made him want to cut her eyes out. Moving past the older boy they all began to walk towards the school he immediately took notice of all the eyes that were on him specifically on how close he was walking with the Cullen's

"Ignore them" the smooth voice whispered next to him which only made him snort In response absentmindedly pulling his schedule from his bag. "Oh, please this is nothing compared to what I'm used to back at home" he murmured. At the look he got he gently projected a memory of walking through the great hall to the noy who softly gasped at the images filling his mind

Hadrian felt the schedule be plucked out of his hands by Emmett the boy scanning over his schedule grinning "Looks like little dude and Eddie have a class together" he chuckled not at all phased by the glare the shorter boy gave him at being called little dude

"Call me little dude again and ill slice your nuts off" he grouched trying and failing to snatch his schedule back hearing chuckles he saw them coming from Alice and Jasper who had been wary of him up until now, Rosalie just rolled her eyes flipped her hair over her shoulder and walked away to class. Managing to get the older boy with an unnoticeable stinging hex he snatched his schedule and made his way back over to Edward who was staring at his hands seemingly looking for his wand. Hadrian snorted shaking his head at the boy sighing he chuckled

"That was just the cafeteria" he had to bite his tongue from laughing in the poor boy's face. Once they finally made it in to the school, All the Cullen's disappeared going their separate way since him and Edward shared their first class, he walked beside the boy keeping his face impassive as they made their way to class ignoring everyone. Walking into Chemistry the muggle equivalent of potions Hadrian idly followed Edward to an empty table gaze following him the whole way to the table he could hear the chatter break out through the classroom as they took their seat.

"I'm assuming that you never sit with anyone" he mumbled raising an eyebrow at the number of stares. Edward chuckled shaking his head "Thankfully the aren't paying attention to me it's you everyone is focused on" Hadrian narrowed his eyes at the older boy "You know damn well the only reason they're looking at me is because of you" once again the boy shook his head.

Throughout the class Hadrian realized how utterly useless muggle classes were, he thought they were supposed to help you all they've done for him so far is give him a reason to catch up on some much-needed sleep It made him regret taking all those moments of pulling pranks and blowing up the potions classroom for granted.

Out of pure boredom and general curiosity Hadrian decided to test a theory. Quietly casting a Leglimens he made sure to brush against the boy's mental barrier based on the way the boy tensed up next to him he could feel Hadrian enter his mind. Leaving the boys mind just as fast as he entered, he looked around the class eyes locking with a dark-haired brunette that was tightly clenching a pencil glaring at him. Raising an eyebrow at the girl he leveled her with a glare that would make both his father's proud, he wondered what her problem was.

Hadrian sat at the table going over the day's events. His magic is growing, He killed a vampire which was admittedly fun, met a coven of vampires and oddly found himself bonding to a select few minus the blonde chit, yeah no he still wanted to cut her eyes out if she glared at him one more time. Compared to his Hogwarts days today actually wasn't half bad. For some reason there was something about Edward that made him feel funny, something about that boy made his world shift on his axis. Thinking back to when they were in the car the feel of the cold hand in his he shook his head and chalked it up to the boy just feeling sympathetic over the glimpses of the attack he saw. What puzzled him is how there are magical creatures walking around not knowing that there are hundreds of other species, hell a whole other world and culture that they know nothing about.

The ringing bell pulled Hadrian out of his thoughts, checking the time he groaned ad let hi head hit the desk. Today was going to be a long day.
