Chapter 35: Wake Up

The early morning sun's rays beamed down on the hut the next day. They shined through the window into it. Tommy stirred somewhat before opening his eyes slowly. He held up his arm in which he shielded them from the light. He blinked three times while yawning. This got them to adjust to it. He touched the top of his head while looking toward the door.

He sighed to himself and placed his arm behind his head. He felt fortunate that the bed was very close to the doorway. It meant he and his girlfriend could easily head outside if either one of them needed to use the bathroom. He would love to sleep in one of the loft beds sometime. The downside was he would have to climb down the ladder in order to head outside. At the same time, he didn't mind climbing up and down ladders.

He turned toward the sleeping Kim, who happened to be snuggled against him with her head on his chest and her arm draped over it. He couldn't help but smile. He thought she looked like an angel. He shifted his attention toward the ceiling. He was glad she enjoyed learning how to live off the land yesterday, especially when it came to finding fruit. He recalled how happy she was when she managed to create lather from ashes, lard, and water when they were at the first waterfall pool. He was looking forward to taking her to Parker's spaceship. The same went for teaching her how to prepare coconut and fishing.

He shifted his attention back to her and took three slow yet even breaths. He ran his hand over her hair. He pushed it out of her face. He proceeded to trace his fingertips up and down her back. He began to hum a sweet tune. She started to stir and opened her eyes. She gazed up at him with a long yawn. She flashed him a loving smile.

"Good morning, Kim," Tommy greeted warmly.

"Good morning yourself, Tommy," Kim responded and suppressed another yawn. She removed her head from his chest. "How do you feel this morning?"

"I feel fantastic. I could do backflips all day," Tommy said and emitted a small chuckle.

"I could too. Then again, we'd have to watch out for any objects that might be in our way," Kim quipped and let out a quiet giggle.

He flicked her nose. "We could move around them or go over them!"

"That's right!" Kim blurted out and raised her eyebrows. She flicked his nose three times. "It's too bad we don't have telekinesis. We could simply move the objects."

"I bet I would have better control over telekinesis than you would," Tommy insisted and smirked.

"Sure, you would," Kim retorted sarcastically.

"I would. I mean it," Tommy growled playfully and tweaked her nose. She made a honking sound. "If I didn't know better, I'd say your nose just became a horn."

She shrugged and squeaked in a quiet manner. "I guess it did."

"How about I honk it again?" Tommy asked.

"No, thank you," Kim answered while touching the back of her neck. "Once is enough for me."

"Talk about being a spoilsport," Tommy taunted and blew a raspberry.

Kim looked at him in mock annoyance. "I am not!"

He pinched her butt, causing her to jump in surprise. She ruffled his hair before playing with a strand of it. He took it out of her hand. He stroked her cheek with the back of his.

"I feel so fortunate to have taught you how to live off the land in several ways yesterday," he whispered happily. He sighed in much content. "If I hadn't, I would've been bored out of my mind."

"I would have as well," she said and propped her head up with her elbow on his shoulder. "I say the best part of yesterday was the lovemaking we did in between lessons."

"I agree with that so much," Tommy commented and rubbed his nose. "We are very lucky to have Ranger powers. They give us very interesting abilities."

"No shit. It took my friends and me some time to get used to ours. As for you, you seemed to be used to them already," Kim pointed out.

"I've always been one for catching on very quickly," Tommy admitted. "Then again, I didn't have much of a choice. Rita wanted me to fight you right away."

"I don't blame her. She was so eager to see how well you would handle the Green Ranger powers," Kim grumbled and shuddered badly. She ran her fingers through her hair twice. "You gave us a very brutal beating in the first confrontation."

"Jason acted very arrogant when he fought me. He thought he could take me down," Tommy said, shaking his head in disbelief. "I handed his ass to him big time."

"He hated that," Kim replied seriously. "He really wanted to get his hands on you afterward."

"Hmm," Tommy murmured.

She slid her hand over his chest and stomach. She traced every muscle that lined them with her fingertips.

"Something tells me that we would be carrying on an affair behind the backs of both sides if you had seduced me into making love with you at my house," Kim admitted.

"I would have to agree," Tommy replied. "It would not have been easy to do at all, though sneaking around would've been fun."

"How would you have handled fighting us while being involved with me?" Kim wondered in much curiosity.

"I would've tried my hardest not to hurt any of you really bad. This is especially true for you," Tommy explained.

She pushed herself into a sitting position. "How long would you have intended to keep that up? How hard would you hurt us? How much would you hold back without Rita noticing you? What if Rita caught you holding back, especially when it came to me?"

He sat up. "I don't know. I don't want to talk about that witch anymore."

He slipped out of bed and approached the window. He mumbled inaudible words. She got up and went over to his side. She touched his shoulder. He looked at her.

"I'm sorry, Tommy," Kim apologized guiltily. "I shouldn't have started talking about that."

"Don't worry about it, Kim," Tommy said.

"I wish I didn't—" Kim started.

He sighed heavily and rolled his eyes. "Just drop it, okay? I don't want to hear any more about it."

She held up her hands in surrender. "Okay! I will drop it! Damn it. You are pretty stubborn."

"So you are. You seem to be a pushy type of person," Tommy retorted and huffed in some annoyance. "Have you ever been that way toward your friends?"

"Sometimes, I am. I don't mean to be. I just want to get answers," Kim responded, becoming a little tense.

"Well, being pushy doesn't help matters for many people. It just makes them irritated. Do you understand that?" Tommy asked in much seriousness.

"I do," Kim insisted. "I didn't mean to make you irritated. I just wanted to hear what you had to say about what might have been if you didn't intend to kidnap me."

Tommy exhaled in a sharp manner. "I understand that. Just don't get so pushy. I don't like it when people do that to me."

"All right," Kim answered, nodding slowly.

"Thank you," Tommy said, letting out a relieved sigh. "I shouldn't have snapped at you. Your pushiness is what set me off."

Kim yawned. "I don't blame you. I've snapped at pushy people myself."

Tommy put his arm around Kim and hugged her lightly. He kissed her temple. He kept his lips there for thirty seconds before pulling away. He rubbed her arm with much gentleness.

"I am so thrilled we've spent two days here. It is now our third day," Tommy said, happiness radiating from his face.

"Yes, but the days will likely begin to blur together," Kim said with raised eyebrows.

"That is true," Tommy agreed. "We can still celebrate Thanksgiving and Christmas, but we won't be sure if we celebrate them on the right days."

"It doesn't matter. What matters is we celebrate them," Kim said in sweetness.

"I am sure you are eager to see Parker's spaceship," Tommy whispered hopefully.

"You bet I am. How about you teleport us there? I can hold on to you," Kim suggested and bit her lip. "I am sure the spaceship is a long walk from here."

"Sure," Tommy replied, giving her a wink.

"Great," Kim said in delight. "I could never use teleportation for anything other than Ranger business. Teleporting from one place to the next is like shooting a bullet toward a target. It is almost instantaneous because reaching your destination happens in a very short amount of time. That is depending on the distance."

"It definitely felt that way to me when Rita teleported me to her palace with a zap of her wand," Tommy admitted, tensing a little bit. "The moon is over three hundred thousand miles away from Earth, yet it took me just a few seconds to get there."

"I have always wanted to visit another world," Kim commented with a soft sigh. "It wasn't possible before I became a Power Ranger."

"Now, you are on an Earth-like world," Tommy said, kissing her temple. "It's an uninhabited one, but we are surrounded by familiar plants and animals."

She nodded in agreement. She felt him rock her from side to side and let out a contented sigh.

"I've heard stories that aliens came to prehistoric Earth and took large groups of humans from every part of it. They placed them on other worlds to conduct an experiment on how they might treat them," Kim explained in a low yet firm voice. "It is obvious they are true because humans live on Nava."

"When it comes to Earth, it seems be a failed experiment," Tommy said, frowning a bit. "Humans have looted and polluted it very badly. Many species have gone extinct due to them." He sighed heavily.

"Many humans are trying to save it, but it is hard with the wrong ones in power," Kim whispered in much sadness.

"That's true. Let's hope humans that live on other worlds have treated them well like they have Nava," Tommy whispered, taking a deep breath.

"Oh, yes," Kim murmured honestly.

"If we ever go to a world like Earth, I'd love to get to know the natives," Tommy said eagerly.

She emitted a soft snort. "Me too. However, we should be cautious around them. We never know what they could be hiding."

He exhaled. "Sure. It doesn't pay to take chances."

Tommy and Kim shared three tender kisses before rubbing noses. She let out a long yawn and smacked her lips. She rubbed her eyes while suppressing another one.

"It is good to know that our backpacks came with water bottles," she said with a smile.

"When we are in the forest, we should fill them up completely," he responded.

"Yep," Kim said, nodding fast. She clapped three times. "It is important to stay hydrated, even if it is cold."

"In snow-filled terrain, you should start a fire to melt snow for drinking water," Tommy said in seriousness. "When we are finished with campfires on Earth, we drown them with water. We stir the ashes and drown them again. We do all this stuff here after we get ashes for making soap to wash our clothes and bodies."

"Only you can prevent forest fires," Kim said in Smokey Bear's voice.

"Great imitation of Smokey Bear's voice, Tommy complimented.

"Thanks," Kim whispered and frowned. "The wind can pick up without any warning. If a campfire is burning, it can turn into a raging inferno. The raging inferno can happen, even if prescribed burns have eliminated ground vegetation."

"It is unbelievable how such a small fire can destroy an entire forest," Tommy mumbled sadly. "It makes me think of the forest fire in Bambi. It burned much of the forest. Man left his campfire burning. The wind carried it into the forest."

"Bambi and the Great Prince barely escaped the fire by jumping into the waterfall. They and the other forest animals escaped to an island in the middle of the river. Bambi reunited with Faline. By the following spring, vegetation was returning to the burned areas," Kim explained.

"It showed life went on, despite the devastation," Tommy said and exhaled. "Nature can be both cruel and wonderful at the same time."

Kim came to the front of Tommy after he let go of her. She took his hands into hers, giving them gentle squeezes. She rubbed the backs of them with her thumbs very lightly.

"I have no doubt in my mind that Rita and the other Rangers have found out we have disappeared and are looking for us," Kim whispered.

"I feel the same way with our parents," Tommy replied and pressed his lips together. "No matter what happens, I will never give you up."

She sniffled. "I will never give you up either."

Tommy kissed Kim tenderly. It didn't take long for their kisses to become passionate. Their tongues touched, and they couldn't hold back moans. They wrapped their arms around each other. He broke the kiss and growled lustfully. He buried his face into her neck. He traced it with his tongue before nibbling on it. She groaned softly yet excitedly. Their heartrates became faster. Electricity raced through their bodies.

"Oh, Tommy," Kim groaned ecstatically. She whimpered at his touching her breasts and fondled them through her top. "Shit! Damn! Don't stop!"

"I won't, my love," Tommy hissed seductively. He licked at her pulse point before kissing it. He alternated between sucking and nibbling on it. "You can count on that."

He kissed her once more. He slipped his tongue into her mouth, making her groan. He turned her around to push her toward the bed. He smiled at her grunting when her legs hit the sides of it. He laid her down in front of the pillows. He reached behind her, undoing her top and throwing it onto the floor. He touched her breasts. He fondled them at a steady pace while kissing her neck. He teased the nipples with his thumbs, hardening them.

Tommy bit down on his girlfriend's neck. She emitted a very loud scream, sending an echo throughout the hut and outside. He kissed her possessively. He slipped his tongue into her mouth. He smiled at a moan coming from her. Their hands wandered and groped everywhere. The world faded around them as they became engaged in lovemaking.
