Chapter 51: Such Happiness

Clouds covered half the early evening sky above the beach in mid-October. The moon came out from behind a large cloud. A gentle wind flowed through the trees in which it caused their leaves to rustle. A scarlet macaw flew through the sky. It flapped its wings on occasion. It emitted a series of caws and squawks. It opened its beak slightly and flicked its tongue. It shook its head before cawing once more.

A year had passed since Tommy and Kim married in the rainforest. He taught her how to hunt and skin animals a week after the wedding. She was disgusted at the skinning at first, but she settled down and tried it herself. She found it to be quite interesting, especially when it came to drying out the skin. After she started having morning sickness eight weeks into her pregnancy, the hunting trips came to a halt.

The spell over Tommy continued to weaken as Kim's pregnancy progressed. He began becoming overprotective of her. She appreciated his concerns, but she became annoyed at this and insisted she could take care of herself. When she was six months pregnant, they got into a huge argument over his overprotectiveness. He told her to just go home. He even unsealed the box and gave her communicator to her. She said she would leave and stormed out.

Tommy and Kim regretted their words and apologized to each other later on. She told him she wouldn't dream of leaving him as he meant too much to her. He kissed her and groaned as the spell over him broke completely. Both of them were very happy. He made the Sword of Darkness appear in his hands. He threw it on the ground and shot a green energy beam from his hand. This destroyed it.

Lucy was born three months later. Tommy delivered her without any problems whatsoever. He was a little nervous about doing that when Kim first went into labor, but he managed to get past it and coached her the entire way. She had no problem breastfeeding her for the first time. They agreed to have their daughter try solid food for the first time when she was six months old. They were not sure what she would try first.

The macaw spotted the hut and flew downward. It headed for the window, landing on the windowsill. It looked inside to see Kim breastfeeding Lucy as she sat on the bed. Tommy was seated next to her. Their daughter resembled her with the exception of having his eyes. Her head did not have any hair. The back of her hand contained a birthmark in the shape of a line going across it. A wooden cradle was nearby.

Lucy curled her hand into a fist before increasing the speed of her sucking. Kim ran her hand over the baby's head. She put it underneath her with a contented sigh. She and Tommy smiled when their daughter uncurled his fist and laid it on her breast. He reached over and patted her arm. He laid his hand in his lap before looking toward her. She turned to him.

"Talk about being really hungry tonight," he said.

"I remember when Claire told Peyton that while breastfeeding Joey in the nursery in The Hand That Rocks the Cradle," she said and giggled.

"I could never blame Joey for being so hungry. He was only three months old at that time. He needed breast milk several times a day," Tommy said.

"Michael needs as much breast milk as Joey did. I will need to exclusively breastfeed him for three more months," Kim pointed out truthfully.

He clicked his tongue. "At least you do not have to worry about people staring at you while you breastfeed."

"I recall breastfeeding mothers telling me the stares were uncomfortable to them," Kim commented.

"I never saw anything wrong with public breastfeeding as long as the mothers were discreet," Tommy said.

She shifted her attention to Lucy. "I felt the same way."

"Hmm," Tommy agreed while laying his hands in his lap. "Maybe I should have some of your breast milk. I am sure it'd taste good." He snickered.

"All right. You can put it in your breakfast. I remember when James put breast milk in his coffee in Look Who's Talking. He spit out his coffee when Mollie told him what he put in it. It made me laugh so hard," Kim said and began giggling loudly.

"We should dump your breast milk all over our heads," Tommy suggested as he wiggled his eyebrows.

Kim became quiet and eyed him. "Okay. I bet you will get more of it than I will."

Tommy laughed in much sarcasm. "Sure, I will."

Tommy kissed his wife on the lips. He ran his finger up and down her nose. He made a funny noise. He flicked it and clicked his tongue three times. He cleared his throat.

"All those times of making love resulted in this miracle," Tommy said as he touched Lucy's arm.

"Oh, yes. If we were on Earth, some civilians would have called us immoral degenerates for conceiving her out-of-wedlock. They could think that stuff all they want, but that would never diminish our love for her," Kim murmured with a sniffle.

"It's fine to think having a baby before you're married is wrong. At the same time, it doesn't give people the right to force it down our throats," Tommy said.

She let out a sharp exhale. "I learned those who preach their views constantly don't follow them in the least bit."

"Some people who preach about traditional marriage have gone through multiple marriages and divorce. Some people who preach about sex after marriage have been having premarital sex ever since their teen years," Tommy explained with a shrug. "It is very hypocritical."

"The universe doesn't like hypocrites. However, hypocrisy is necessary for society to function. Most people are hypocrites by accident," Kim whispered. "Nobody follows their views one hundred percent of the time." She ran her tongue all over the inside of her mouth. "It's just not realistic."

He furrowed his brow. "You are so right."

"Hey, I am always right," Kim teased.

"Not always," Tommy said while shaking his head. "Nope, nope, nope."

The lovebirds shared three kisses before rubbing noses. Lucy pulled away from her mother's breast once it was empty. They looked down at him. She moved her hair over her breasts quickly. She sat her daughter in her lap. She gave her back gentle pats. Lucy emitted a loud burp. His parents formed big smiles on their faces.

"You are such a good girl, Lucy," Kim said and planted a kiss on top of her daughter's head.

"I'll say," Tommy agreed and winked at him. "I will teach her how to really burp when she is older."

"You are dreaming if you think I will let you do that, Tommy," Kim retorted playfully. "I've already gotten my pre-baby body back." She let out a happy giggle. "Almost all the weight I gained was water weight. I just had to lose a few pounds."

"I am proud of you for getting your pre-baby body back," Tommy said truthfully and kissed her cheek. "It would've been okay if you hadn't. You can't expect to bounce back from pregnancy so fast."

"Yeah," Kim agreed. "No one should pressure a woman to get back into shape so fast. She should go at her own pace."

Tommy tickled his wife's nose before kissing her lips. She stood up along with him. They went to the cradle. She laid Lucy down with much gentleness. She covered her with her blanket.

"Good night, Lucy. Your daddy and I love you very much," Kim whispered and rubbed her daughter's stomach.

"Sweet dreams," Tommy added while sliding his hand over Lucy's forehead. "Don't let the bedbugs bite."

Kim went to the bed with Tommy right behind her. They headed to their respective sides. She lay on her back while sat down. She gazed at him when he yawned.

"Tired, huh?" she wondered.

"Oh, yeah. Being a hunter/gatherer, a husband, and a father is hard work," he admitted as he eyed her.

Kim raised an eyebrow. "So is being a mother, a wife, a hunter/gather, a homemaker, but I wouldn't trade what I do for anything else in the universe."

Tommy chuckled. "I wouldn't either."

Tommy laid on his side with a soft sigh. Kim turned over on hers while grunting in a light way. She furrowed her brow. They moved their hands toward each other until their fingers entwined.

"I never thought I would end up marrying the girl I kidnapped and held captive," Tommy whispered happily. "It feels so unreal."

"It does, but we are here. We may not have gotten together in the traditional sense, but we are married now," Kim pointed out warmly. She stroked his cheek with the back of her hand. "It's been a fantastic marriage so far."

"It sure has," Tommy responded, chuckling softly. He kissed her on the lips and lay on his back. She snuggled up to him to place her head on his chest. She sighed contently when his arms went around her. "Of course, we did have some arguments about me being overprotective of you while you were pregnant."

"I did not blame you. You told me to leave during our biggest argument. I said I would and stormed out. We regretted our words and apologized to each other. The spell broke when you kissed me. You destroyed the Sword of Darkness," Kim said.

"I did not want another damn thing to do with that piece of shit," Tommy said in determination. "It is possible our friends and enemies will find us. If they do, I am not leaving you and Lucy."

"I am not leaving you either," Kim growled fiercely and took her head off his chest to look at him. "I love you."

"I love you too," Tommy responded lovingly. "Now and forever."

Tommy and Kim kissed passionately. She climbed on top of him while maintaining their lip lock. She moaned when he fondled her breasts. He sat up and grabbed her hair. He planted kisses on her neck. She leaned her head back, sighing in much ecstasy. Their heartbeats sped up. Electricity rushed through their veins. She moaned when he sucked on her neck.

"Don't stop, Tommy," she cried.

"Never, Kim," he replied. "Never."

Tommy kissed his wife with much possession. He plunged his tongue into her mouth, making her moan. She ran her fingers through her husband's hair. Though the possibility of the remaining Power Rangers and Rita's goons finding them lingered, they were determined to stay together. The power of love would guide them through thick and thin. It would never fade away.
