Okay, I realize I gave no warning about this, but this is going to be the last chapter in this series of one-shots. I really appreciate everyone who has been along for this ride and I know some of you will be sad it's ending, but I'm just not feeling creatively inspired to write these anymore and life's been really busy lately so it often feels like a chore to write, so I don't want to keep forcing myself when it's not what I want to be doing. So I'll probably take a few months off from writing and then hopefully come back with some more JATP content (probably a college AU story, that's mainly what I like writing). But, for now, here's a last chapter that will hopefully be a nice fluffy conclusion and finally give those of you who have requested established relationship one shots a little something.

One Year Later

Julie was sitting on her bed, playing with the hem of her maroon dress, as she waited for Luke. A small bag sat next to her feet.

She heard a quiet knock at the door and then Luke, in classic Luke fashion, stuck his head through the solid door and asked, "Is m'lady ready for her night out?"

Julie giggled at his very bad British accent, but nodded. She grabbed the bag and she tip-toed out of the house, trying not to catch her dad's attention.

As they walked to the beach, Julie and Luke swung their joined hands playfully. "Crazy that it's been a year since we were first here," Luke commented, looking down at her with a warm glance.

"Hey, I think it's crazier that it took you six months to ask me out on a date, although I will give you points for making it a nighttime walk on the beach," she laughed back, but he knew she was only teasing him lovingly.

"Well, it's not like we had the world's most normal circumstances. I think it's very understandable that it took me six months to wrap my head around the idea of being a ghost and dating a girl who's alive."

She wrapped her arm around his waist and hugged him to her side. "You make a good point," she finally agreed.

When they got to the beach, they headed down to the old dock. It was a little rickety and the boards were weathered from the sun, but they knew from experience it could hold their weight. The tide was high so they pulled of their shoes and dangled their feet in the water.

"It's been the best year," Julie said quietly, after a few minutes of listening to the sound of the ocean waves.

"Better than any year I've ever had before," Luke agreed, laying his head against hers as they looked out towards the horizon.

"I don't want to be too sappy, but I don't know what I would have done if you didn't come into my life. You've had such a huge impact on me, in the best way," she said, holding back tears and gripping his hand.

"I could say those exact same words back to you. I wouldn't even be on Earth if you weren't here."

They lapsed into silence again, reflecting on their year together and enjoying the serenity of the moment. Finally, she reached back for the bag, which she had left beside her shoes. "I have something for you," she told him, before handing over the bag.

He pulled out a square package, wrapped in purple tissue paper with a silver ribbon. He carefully unwrapped it and pulled out a small photo album.

"I know you can't actually be in the pictures, but I put in a photo from every place we've been on a date this year," she told him. "There's the park where we went stargazing, the beach, even the mall when we went shopping."

Luke slowly flipped through the pages, reliving each memory as if it were new. He stayed quiet so long that Julie had to ask, "Do you hate it?"

Luke wouldn't look at her but managed to get out, "No, no I love it so much," and Julie could hear that he was a little choked up with emotion. Luke never cried so she knew this meant a lot to him.

"I just… I wanted you to know I've cherished every single minute we've spent together and I will remember them forever, photographic evidence or not."

He turned to her and kissed her softly, cupping the back of her head and allowing their lips to glide gently over one another's. When he pulled back, he said, "Okay, well I guess it's time for your present, then." He slipped a hand inside his jacket and pulled out a small box from his pocket, which he handed to her.

She gasped when she opened the box. It was a subtle bar necklace with their initials engraved on one end of it and two music notes on the other. The back read "Perfect Harmony".

"Don't ask how I got this done. Let's just say it took Willie and some of his lifer connections and also mailing anonymous letters to a metal engraver. But. I wanted you to have a little piece of me you could carry everywhere with you, no matter what happens."

She couldn't find the words to express how much she loved it so she just handed him the box and swept her hair aside from her neck, indicating she wanted him to put it on her. He fumbled momentarily with the clasp, but got it secured and then rested his hands on her exposed shoulders.

She turned to face him and reached up to put her hand over his where it lay over her collar bone. "This is… everything I've ever wanted," she said simply. Then she leaned in and kissed him again. This time she ran her hands through his hair and his hands slipped to her waist, where he pulled her towards him. Their mouths opened and the kiss deepened, and Julie could have stayed like that for the whole night, if not for weeks or months, without coming up for air.

It wasn't until a foghorn sounded on a distant boat that she pulled away. Luke rested his forehead against hers and said, "I love you so much, Julie."

"I love you too, Luke."
