POV - Hope

I had just entered our property when I heard my parents' voices coming from the living room. Damn it. Even though I knew it was after six o'clock in the morning and that they had most certainly discovered my escape, deep down I still hoped it hadn't happened. My mom must be mad. After I freaked her out when I was 7, now she basically freaks out every time I get away. I grimaced at the thought of her reaction and continued to walk across the garden. As I stopped in front of our mansion's door, I took a moment to gather the necessary courage and went inside.

''Finally!'' - Mom exclaimed when she saw me and ran towards me to hug me. She wrapped her arms tightly around me and filled my head with kisses. I told her she was desperate when I escaped. - ''Are you okay?'' - She asked with a worried look and caressed my face.

''I'm fine, mom.'' - I replied, sincerely. - ''And I really preferred to continue like this.'' - I added in an attempt to make a joke, but at the same moment I regretted it because the look on my mother's face changed from worry to anger.

''Hope Andrea Mikaelson.'' - She gritted her teeth while saying my full name and in the next second she grabbed my earlobe - ''What were you thinking?'' - Mom scolded, while she gave a tug on my ear.

''Ow mom, it hurts!'' - I complained, trying to take her hand away.

''It's to hurts, you irresponsible.'' - She scolded and was dragging me by the ear to the couch - ''Do you know how much I was worried?'' - Mom looked at me and for a moment I felt bad for making her feel that way.

''I'm sorry, mommy.'' - I whimpered and she took a deep breath, before letting go of my ear and making me sit on the couch.

''We realized how much you feel...'' - I heard my father's voice speaking in an ironic tone and it was only then that I noticed that he was also here in the room - ''You feel so much that every time you want, you ignores an order from us.'' - He continued and I rubbed my ear with my fingers to try to ease the pain.

''It's not like that, dad, what happens is that...'' - I was going to try to explain myself, but he interrupted me.

''It's just like that, Hope.'' - Dad cut his eyes at me, not giving me a chance to explain.

Great. This time, he seemed as angry with me as Mom. It really was all I needed.

''After all, where were you?'' - Mom questioned, sitting on the couch next to me.

''I was at a party.'' - I replied with my head down, playing with my fingers.

''Really, Hope?'' - Mom gave a humorless laugh and I nodded shyly - ''Do you really think it's worth disrespecting a punishment and leaving us worried because of a party?'' - She lifted my chin, making me look at her.

What can I say? Because of Josie Saltzman of course it's worth it. But obviously that wasn't the answer I gave.

''I didn't think I was going to get caught.'' - I admitted, averting my gaze.

''It's a good thing you mentioned that point.'' - Dad spoke again with an ironic smile on his face - ''Because I would really like to know what went into your head for you to do a spell to hide your own location.'' - He looked at me and I snorted.

''It is not obvious?'' - I replied, a little impatient - ''If you knew my location, you would look for me and not dead I would let this happen.'' - I explained, being much more rude than I intended.

''Watch your attitude, girl.'' - Mom warned, looking at me from the corner.

''And I don't care for your reasons, Hope, because you'll never again cast a spell to hide your location.'' - My dad continued with the scolding and I looked at him - ''Especially when we have no idea where you are.'' - He added with a wry smile and I clenched my fists.

''This can't be serious.'' - I got up from the couch, irritated - ''Do you really think I'll escape punishment and just wait for you to find me?'' - I know I should have stopped there, but my wolf temper doesn't help. - ''I'm not an idiot!'' - I completed, and at the same moment I felt Dad twirling me by the arm and smacking my ass just hard enough to get my attention SMACK * !

''Look at the way you talk to me.'' - He scolded, still holding my arm - ''You are already in trouble, so believe me when I say that this attitude will not help you.'' - Dad looked at me, letting go of my arm and turning his back to me.

''As if anything would help me right now.'' - I rolled my eyes and I saw Mom taking her slipper off her foot.

I know I wasn't in a position to be testing my parents' patience, but it was kind of unavoidable. My wolf temper made me say anything that came into my head.

''If that's how you want to continue the conversation, that's fine with me.'' - She spoke with the slipper in her hand - ''For each answer crossed, you get a slipper, okay?'' - Mom warned, pointing the slipper at me.

''I'm sorry...'' - I raised my eyebrows, playing dumb - ''But what conversation?'' - I mocked with all the irony in the world and in the same second Mom pulled me to her knee, giving me the slipper she had promised SMACK * ! The slipper was so strong I bit my lip to keep from screaming.

''Do you really want to continue with this?'' - She asked, with me still leaning face down on her knee.

''No, moo-mmy.'' - I spoke sincerely.

Nobody in their right mind liked to be spanken. I know I had my wolf part activated, but my mom was a hybrid and my dad was the original hybrid. You can be sure that when they spank me it still hurts.

''Then stop testing our patience.'' - Mom requested, lifting me and putting me on my feet facing her.

''Sorry, but sometimes I can't help it.'' - I bit my lip and rubbed my bottom, which was now slightly burning from the slipper my mother had given me.

''I know.'' - Mom exchanged a look with my dad and pulled me to sit on the couch beside her - ''Listen...'' - She dropped her slipper on the floor and sighed - ''Imagine if some enemy of the family catches you while you were with this one concealment spell or no cell phone? How were we going to find you?'' - Mom took my hands and I lowered my head.

''I hadn't thought of that.'' - I tried to defend myself and Dad shook his head.

''It's obvious that you hadn't thought of that, Hope, because you don't think so hard that you do what you want.'' - He snorted and I tried to hold back tears. It was so bad to be scolded by him.

''Dad, I...'' - I looked at him and he cut me again.

''You know how your mother is every time you escape and don't give news, but still you do.'' - He taught and my eyes immediately filled with tears. I never wanted my mom to feel bad. - ''If you know that by escaping punishment you will have problems, then face the consequences of your choices.'' - Dad continued and I looked at him - ''We are the Mikaelsons, we have enemies in all corners of the world and by blocking your family's location, you automatically put yourself in danger.'' - He finished and I scratched my eyes, trying to stop the tears from falling.

My dad almost never lectured me, but when he did, he really managed to make me feel guilty.

''I'm sorry, okay?'' - I said, getting frustrated.

''What good is it for you to apologize and then do it again?'' - Dad pointed his finger at me and stared at me.

''I won't do it again.'' - I assured, looking at him.

''Obviously you won't do it again, because if you hide your location from us again...'' - He took a deep breath, before looking at me seriously and finishing his sentence. - ''Hayley will spank you and after I will.'' - Dad threatened and I immediately put a hand to my ass, remembering the only time this happened.

That's when I created a hybrid with my own blood. I never regretted my temper as much as I did that day because it would only be Mom who would punish me, but I ended up making the mistake of answering her and with that I ended up getting spanken up by the father and the mother. It was the worst spanking of my life. I literally struggled for four days to sit up, especially since I hadn't activated my wolf curse at the time and with that I still didn't heal as fast as I do today.

''Mom, dad is not serious, right?'' - I moaned, making a face.

''Of course he is.'' - Mom supported him and looked at me - ''As your dad said, if you want to escape punishment, at least face the consequences of your actions.'' - She continued and I looked down.

Deep down, I know they are right. And if I don't want to make things worse for myself, I better try to control myself and be quiet.

''Very well...'' - Dad manifested after a moment of silence and let out a sigh - ''Now apologize to your mom for having disobeyed and made her worried.'' - He ordered and I lifted my head to look at her.

''Sorry, mommy, I really didn't want to worry you.'' - I apologized, sincerely - ''I didn't think that...'' - I looked to the side and this time I let a single tear fall.

''I know, sweetie, I know.'' - Mom pulled my face so I could look at her and wiped my tear away with her fingers. Then she smiled gently and pulled me into a hug, kissing the top of my head. - ''I love you very much.'' - Mom whispered as she hugged me and stroked my hair.

''Even though I disobeyed you and left you worried?'' - I asked with a pout.

''Even though.'' - She chuckled, running her finger across the tip of my nose and pulling me into an even tighter hug.

We stayed like this for some time, until I heard my father's voice again:

''Now that you understand what you did wrong, it's time to face the consequences.'' - He took a deep breath and looked at me - ''Go to your room, Hope.'' - Dad ordered and I pursed my lips.

I knew what that meant.

''No, Dad.'' - I shook my head, but he kept his eyes serious. - ''Mom...'' - I turned to look at my mother and try to ask her for help, after all she seemed to be much less angry than my dad.

''Obey your father, Hope.'' - She cut my hopes short and I sniffled, getting up from the couch.

It was no use arguing. Of course they had already decided on this together long before I arrived.

''I'll be there in a moment.'' - Dad warned and I nodded my head down - ''And I hope you'll be there when I arrive.'' - He added in an ironic tone and I turned my back on him, running up the stairs.

It was daddy who was going to punish me and I just hated it when that happened. I know he wasn't as tough as mommy, but his lectures were a thousand times worse. But the good thing is that today he had already lectured me. Now he was just going up to my room just to 'finish the punishment'. If I want to get on his best side, I'll just make a big deal of drama and say I'm sorry. I know his weakness is seeing me cry. Well, let's try it, shall we?

POV - Klaus

I hated having to be hard on Hope, but sometimes I had to. She is 15 years old, she can't do what she wants. When Hayley and I ground her, the least we expect is for him to be followed. We are her parents and our greatest obligation as parents is to keep her safe. But how are we going to do this with her hiding her location from us? Honestly, I was more irritated that she did this than that she ran away from punishment. Especially if I take into account how freaked out Hayley is when that happens. I snorted, trying to remain calm and went to sit on the couch next to my wife.

''When you said you were going to give her a big lecture, you weren't kidding.'' - Hayley said and I laughed.

''Do you think I was too hard on her?'' - I asked and she looked at me.

''You needed to be.'' - Hayley sighed and took my hand - ''I hate to say this, but lately Hope only obeys us under the threat of some physical punishment.'' - She vented and I smirked.

''She's a Mikaelson, her blood tells her to go against the rules.'' - I joked and Hayley looked at me. - ''But nothing that a trip on our knees doesn't solve.'' - I added and she let out a laugh.

''Anyway...'' - Hayley stroked the back of my hand with her fingers and rested her head on my shoulder. - ''It's almost seven in the morning, you better get this over with so that that troublemaker can finally sleep.'' - She commented and I looked at her.

''Did you forget that as part of the punishment Hope would have to wake up early every morning to make breakfast with me?'' - I raised my eyebrows at her and she snorted.

''Oh please, Klaus.'' - Hayley rolled her eyes and gave me a wry smile - ''We both know that by the time Hope cries in her lap, you'll already be calling her princess and surrendering to what she wants.'' - She countered and I opened a smile.

It was true. There was no way I could deny it. It doesn't matter how much time passes or how old Hope is. She will always be my little princess.

''You're right, love.'' - I nodded and she laughed - ''Wish me good luck.'' - I gave her a peck and got up on the couch.

''You're a great dad, Klaus.'' - She praised, looking at me - ''You don't need luck.'' - Hayley smiled and I nodded, turning to walk up the stairs.

The easy part of being a father was when I did whatever Hope or Henrik wanted. Now the hard part was no doubt when I had to scold or punish them. Unfortunately, I knew I had to. If I let it go, Hope does it again. I know her. She's stubborn like me and she always thinks she's right like Hayley.

I took a deep breath at the thought and finished up the stairs, heading towards Hope's room. Her bedroom door was open. So I walked unceremoniously into her room and saw her sitting on the bed with her head down. Immediately, I felt a tightness in my chest seeing her like this, but I forced my face to become serious and looked at her:

''What do you have to say to yourself?'' - I questioned, standing beside her bed. I just wanted to get this over with.

''I'm sorry, daddy.'' - She looked at me, looking like she was trying to hold back her crying - ''I was bored and...'' - Hope tried to explain, but she didn't finish, because her tears started to fall.

When I saw her crying all I wanted to do was hug her and say that I had already forgiven her, but unfortunately I knew I couldn't do that yet. Hope was smart and if I showed weakness, she knew I would eventually give up on punishing her. So I tried my best to keep my face serious and cut her off:

''This is no reason to disrespect a punishment we gave you, much less hide your location.'' - I scolded her and her lips trembled, while her tears fell without stopping. This involuntarily made me soften. -''Look...'' - I sat down beside her on the bed and held her hands. - ''I'm already very gentle with you Hope, but when I give an order, I expect her to be followed.'' - I explained and she looked at me.

''But daddy...'' - Hope tried to speak, but I cut her off.

''Nothing more, Hope.'' - I cut my eyes at her with a serious expression - ''My main priority as a father is to keep you safe, but I can't do that if you intentionally hide your location, especially when your mother and I have no idea where you are.'' - I argued and she snorted. Hope was stubborn. The best I could do was get it over with this: - ''Okay...'' - I let go of her hands and patted my lap. - ''Let's get this over with this.'' - I decided and she got up from the bed, moving away from me.

''No daa-ddy, plee-ase.'' - She whimpered, looking at me.

''You disrespected a punishment, went out in the middle of the night, used magic, concealed your location and even left your mother worried.'' - I snorted, still sitting on her bed - ''Tell me a reason for me not spank you.'' - I looked at her and she huddled in a corner.

''Bee-cau-se I'm soo-rry, I swear.'' - Hope looked at me with tears in her eyes and I looked away. I wouldn't be able to punish her if she kept this up.

The worst thing is, I knew she didn't do all this drama when she had to deal with Hayley. Obviously she was trying to get away from the spanking yes which was normal, but my wife cut her off before she got to that point. And that's exactly what I needed to do.

''If I have to catch you, I'll have to spank more.'' - I threatened in vain, but she didn't move. - ''I'm serious, Hope.'' - I continued and she looked at me, sobbing loudly.

Damn it. Either I got it over with or I was going to give up. I couldn't give up. As Hayley once told me, I need to be more than the pampering dad. And that includes having to scold her or punish her when she does something wrong. With that, I got up from the bed, avoiding looking at her, and grabbed her by the arm, pulling her to the bed.

''No, daa-ddy.'' - Hope struggled, trying to get out of my grip.

''You brought this for yourself.'' - I stated, giving no room for discussion and sat on her bed, supporting Hope on my knees.

So without hesitation I placed one of my hands on Hope's back so she wouldn't run away and with the other I pulled her jeans down to her knees, leaving her with only the protective covering of her panties.

''NOOO, PLEE-ASE.'' - Hope yelled and I immediately started her punishment, landing hard spankings on her ass SMACK * ! SMACK * !

Normally I didn't give her more than a dozen spankings, but with this whole trying to run away and hide her location thing, I really thought she deserved more.

''Your disobedience ends now.'' - I taught, keeping a constant rhythm in the spankings and alternating between one side and the other SMACK * ! SMACK * ! SMACK * ! SMACK * ! SMACK * ! SMACK * ! - ''You don't choose the rules you want to follow in this house.'' - I continued the reprimand while she screamed and kicked her legs to try to get out of position. SMACK * ! SMACK * ! - ''I'm your father and when I or your mother tell you to do something, you obey.'' - I finished the scolding, ready to give the last spankings and end your punishment SMACK * ! SMACK * ! SMACK * ! SMACK * !

''Stoo-p, daa-ddy.'' - Hope begged, throwing her hand back to try to block the spankings. Why did she have to do this? I was already finishing.

''Bad idea.'' - I snorted, taking her hand away and landed a strong slap in the middle of her ass SMACK *! - ''I had decided to give you only fifteen.'' - I counted, giving her some time to breathe. - ''But now you'll get three more for having interrupted your punishment.'' - I told her and she didn't question it. In fact, all I heard was her sobs and that was my loophole to finally get it over with this SMACK* ! SMACK * ! SMACK * ! On the last smack, she screamed so loud I swore my heart broke.

And with her still face down on my knees, I noticed the color her bottom had turned to after the spanking: In a slightly reddish hue. Now that Hope had activated the wolves curse, she basically just felt the pain of her punishment at the time, so Hayley and I didn't make a point of making it easy. Obviously we didn't use all our strength, but we did use enough strength to teach her a lesson, after all we knew that she would heal in no more than an hour after the punishment.

''Daa-ddy.'' - I heard Hope's voice calling me as I made circles on her back to calm her down and slowly put her on her feet facing me, not missing the moment when she pulled up her jeans and grimaced when the fabric touched her aching backside. - ''I'm so soo-rry.'' - She pouted in her tearful voice and looked at me with her tear-streaked eyes.

I wonder if she knew, but the truth is that I was unable to see my little princess crying with such sincere tears on her face. So I sighed and pulled her to sit on my lap. Instantly, she buried her head in the crook of my neck and began to cry out loud. I know deep down she was still mad at me for spanking her, but she also couldn't help running into my loving embrace. Little did she know that just seeing her crying like that was revenge enough. I gulped at the thought of it and hugged her, hoping her tears would calm down. When I finally felt her calmer, I put her back on her feet and looked at her:

''Do you understand why you were punished?'' - I asked and she sniffed.

''Yes, daddy.'' - Hope replied humbly with her eyes swollen with tears.

''I don't like having to spank you, but know that I will not hesitate to do if you repeat this mistake again.'' - I warned her and she nodded shyly. - ''Okay, come here.'' - I opened my arms and Hope hugged me - ''I love you with all my heart.'' - I whispered softly and she looked at me.

''I love you too, dad.'' - Hope said, letting out a yawn. She was exhausted. The night was too long for her.

''You better go put your pajamas, because it's past time for you to sleep.'' - I looked at her and she nodded, going to her closet to get her pajamas.

That done, she went into her bedroom bathroom to change and I sat on her bed, waiting for her to leave. It took about fifteen minutes. From the noise of the shower, I know she took a shower too. When she left, her eyes were heavy and she looked even more exhausted than before.

''Come on, I'll put you to sleep.'' - I smiled and Hope looked at me.

''Dad, I'm already 15 years old, I can go to bed alone.'' - She protested, pouting.

''For me, you'll always be my little girl.'' - I snapped and she snorted.

Since Hope had turned 15, she had this habit of saying she was too old for some things. But what can I say? I am over a thousand years old. Hope will never be old enough for me and to be honest, I doubt that I will ever stop seeing her as my little girl who needs protection. So just to piss her off, I sped up to her and picked her up in my lap, rocking her like a baby afterward. Hope tried to pull away, but seconds later she was laughing out loud.

''Dad...'' - She looked at me, stopping laughing for a moment.

''What's it?'' - I raised my eyebrows at her and Hope let out a tired yawn.

''I'm dying of sleep.'' - She confessed, closing her eyes.

''I know, my princess, I know.'' - I nodded with her still in my arms and kissed her forehead.

I continued to rock her for just over a minute, until I realized Hope had completely blacked out. So I walked to her bed and placed her carefully there. Hayley was right. Our daughter looked like a sleeping angel. I smiled as I watched my little girl asleep and before I left, I made sure to close the curtains and her bedroom door so that at least she could get back her hours of sleep. Hope needed to rest, especially after the night beyond exhausting she had.

POV - Josie

I woke up with a tremendous headache and the worst thing is that I had no idea how I ended up in my room. In fact, the last thing I really remember is me playing 'Never have I ever' at the old mill party with Kaleb, MG, Jed, Alyssa and Hope. Shit. Did Hope see me drunk? Or did I do something wrong around her? What the hell. I do not remember. I snorted, trying to remember something, until I heard a knock on my bedroom door:

''You may come in.'' - I said, looking at the door.

''You finally woke up, Josette.'' - Lizzie entered my room, snorting - ''It's almost three o'clock in the afternoon, I thought you wouldn't wake up anymore.'' - She sat on my bed, looking at me.

''Sorry...'' - I raised my eyebrows at her and looked at her - ''But what are you doing here?'' - I asked, not understanding.

As I recall, the last time I spoke to my sister, we had a fight.

''You ungrateful idiot.'' - Lizzie cursed, narrowing her eyes at me - ''By the way...'' - She seemed to remember something and in the next second I felt a punch in my arm.

''What the hell, Lizzie!'' - I complained, rubbing the side of my arm. Her punch had hurt.

''That's because you threw up on the floor of our room yesterday and left me worried.'' - She complained and I grimaced in confusion.

''Wait... What?'' - I literally didn't understand anything.

''You really don't remember anything?'' - She snapped, looking at me.

''What you think?'' - I snorted, raising an eyebrow at her.

''Okay...'' - Lizzie let out a tired sigh and looked at me - ''I don't think you deserve it, but I'll tell you anyway.'' - She continued and I lean my middle finger to my forehead to show it to her.

Surprisingly my sister laughed at my reaction, before starting to tell what happened. Lizzie recounted things so lightly that I only paid attention to the essentials: Hope begging Lizzie's help to help me, my sister stealing my dad's car to pick us up, me throwing up in front of Hope and my dad catching us in the middle of the night.

''I can't believe I threw up in front of Hope!'' - I whimpered, a little desperate.

''I just said that Dad caught you in that state and you're worried about Mikaelson, Josie? Seriously?'' - Lizzie huffed, rolling her eyes.

''Daddy won't do anything, Lizzie.'' - I looked at her, calm - ''He's never caught me drunk before and it's not like I'm banned from going out.'' - I made a face, shrugging.

''I wouldn't be so sure if I were you.'' - She looked at me, serious - ''At lunchtime, Mom and Dad talked on the phone for an hour about you.'' - Lizzie told me, looking at me.

''How do you know they were talking about me?'' - I asked, snorting.

It wasn't like Mom and Dad didn't talk, right? They ran a school together, and even though Mom was currently in Europe, they spoke often.

''I don't know, maybe because daddy mentioned your name?'' - Lizzie countered with a wry smile.

''If I were you, I would be more worried about yourself, after all you were the one who stole the...'' - I was going to say that she stole his car in the middle of the night, but my sister covered my mouth before I finished.

''Shit, Josie, don't keep repeating that.'' - Lizzie requested, before uncapping my mouth.

''I thought Dad already knew, after all you said he caught us.'' - I said, not understanding her despair. After all, if our father caught her, she was already screwed, right?

''That he doesn't know because luckily Hope managed to deceive him.'' - Lizzie clarified and I raised my eyebrows at her.

''Like this? Does that mean Hope helped you?'' - I questioned and she snorted.

''Let's say Mikaelson and I have agreed to a truce.'' - My sister shrugged, rolling her eyes.

''Wait... What did I miss?'' - I asked, not understanding - ''As I remember you didn't want me near Hope and even punched her in the nose because of it.'' - I crossed my arms over my chest, waiting for an explanation.

''It's just that I realized that Hope really cares about you.'' - She replied, as if it was nothing - ''Of course that doesn't mean I like her or...'' - Lizzie kept talking, but I wasn't even listening anymore. Did she really say Hope cares about me? - ''JOSETTE, ARE YOU LISTENING TO ME?'' - My sister screamed and I jumped in bed scared.

''Damn, Lizzie, don't scream.'' - I complained, looking at her - ''I have a hell of a headache.'' - I explained, running my hand over my head.

''Well done.'' - Lizzie smiled ironically and looked at me - ''Who told you to drink so much?'' - She scolded and I moaned.

''Lizzie, please.'' - I pouted and she shook her head, before laughing. - ''But then...'' - I looked at her, wanting to get back to the subject. - ''Are you and Hope friends now?'' - I asked, holding back a laugh.

That would be funny. The two are always fighting with each other.

''Not even dead!'' - Lizzie put her finger to her throat, pretending she was going to throw up. - ''The only thing is, now I'm not going to object to you guys getting together or whatever that is anymore.'' - She rolled her eyes, making me crack a smile.

I know my twin well enough to know that what she really meant is that she now supports me and Hope together.

''Oh, just admit that you thought it was cool that Hope helped you.'' - I teased her, just to piss her off.

''I swear if you repeat that again, I'll punch you again.'' - Lizzie threatened and I stared at her for a moment, until we both burst out laughing.

''Lizzie...'' - I sighed and looked at my sister, as soon as I had stopped laughing. - ''Thank you for helping me yesterday, even after our fight.'' - I thanked her sincerely.

''You're my twin sister, I'll always help you.'' - Lizzie affirmed and pulled me into a hug - ''Even though you are an idiot.'' - She added and I laughed.

Lizzie and I couldn't get mad at each other for very long. As much as we disagreed, she was always going to be my twin sister and my best friend. No matter what happens.

''Lizzie? Josie?'' - I heard my father's voice calling us and I pulled away from Lizzie's embrace, turning to look at him standing in the doorway with his arms folded.

''Hi Dad.'' - I smiled shyly and he looked at me seriously.

''Lizzie, could I talk to your sister alone?'' - He ignored me, looking directly at her.

My sister opened her mouth, ready to argue, but I put a hand on her shoulder and nodded for her to leave. I didn't think my dad would be mad at me, but if he is, I have to sort it out myself. As always, Lizzie hesitated a bit to leave, but I insisted and she finally left me and my father alone, not without first whispering 'good luck' to me.

''Dad, just to remind you I wasn't forbidden to leave.'' - I defended myself, before he started a lecture about it.

''Then why didn't you tell me you were going out?'' - He asked, narrowing his eyes at me.

''Because the party was at the oldmill and if you knew about the party, you, as the school principal, would have to go there and finish everything.'' - I replied, as if it were obvious.

My dad watched me for a moment, probably wondering what to do, but finally he sighed and sat down beside me on the bed.

''I can even understand the fact that you didn't want to hand over your friends.'' - He looked at me, seriously. - ''What I don't understand is that you arrived home in that state.'' - Alaric continued, wanting an explanation.

''Dad, I just drank a little more than I should have.'' - I said, shrugging. Who has never had too much to drink and lost track?

''It wasn't just that.'' - Dad snapped, annoyed. - ''You didn't see the state you've arrived in, Josie.'' - He shook his head and looked at me.

Of course I didn't see it. I was drunk, right? But obviously that's not what I answered.

''I'm dying of a headache, Dad.'' - I complained, looking at him - ''So if you came here to punish me, just do it.'' - I sighed, lowering my head.

Unlike Lizzie, I wasn't afraid if my dad decided to spank me. Of course, it was humiliating and by the time it happened I literally cried like a small child, after all his hand was heavy and the spankings really hurt. But at least the punishment ended quickly and after it was over I could move on without having to worry about those long punishments of a month or more.

''I came here because I'm worried about you, Josie.'' - Dad snorted, lifting my chin. - ''You're 14 years old, at this age you should by no means touch a single drop of alcohol in your mouth, let alone drink to the point of losing consciousness.'' - He scolded, making me look at him.

''It was the first time, Dad.'' - I lied, blatantly.

To be honest, he had no idea the other times, so I guess it's okay for me to lie, right? After all, all I want least now is to hear a sermon. My head was bursting.

''And I really hope it's the first and last time.'' - He cut his eyes at me, looking at me seriously.

''Okay, that's it?'' - I asked, getting impatient. With the headache I was in, I didn't feel like arguing.

''No.'' - He replied, looking at me - ''Me and your mother talked about what happened...'' - Dad told and I raised my eyebrows at him.

''And what did you decide?'' - Yeah, here comes my sentence.

''Your mother and I have decided that you should go to therapy with Emma for a while so she can make you aware of the dangers that alcohol can cause to a teenager.'' - He decreed and I ran a hand over my face, getting frustrated.

Honestly, I'd rather get spanked than go to therapy with Emma.

''Dad, this is unfair, it's the first time I've had a drink!'' - Okay, I know I lied again, but I just wanted to get rid of this damn therapy.

''If in the first time, you were like this, imagine if there is a next one?'' - He questioned, frowning at me.

''You won't change your mind, will you?'' - I snapped, letting out a sigh.

''No way!'' - Alaric replied with an ironic smile.

''Okay then...'' - I snorted, looking at him - ''Now can I rest?'' - I asked, irritated.

''Josie…'' - Dad softened his expression and took my hand - ''If your mom and I are doing this it's because I was really worried about you yesterday.'' - He explained and I nodded.

''I know, Dad.'' - I agreed again, because as I said: My head was bursting. All I wanted was to go rest.

''This is serious, Josie.'' - He looked at me, before pulling me into a hug. - ''I love you and I don't want you to have drinking problems like I did.'' - Dad continued and immediately my eyes filled with tears.

He was almost never so sincere. In fact, he always tried to hide the important things from us. For him, Lizzie and I were still children, unable to make a decision or understand a situation. So I was really surprised that he confessed to something that happened to him.

''Did you have drinking problems?'' - I asked, swallowing hard.

''Yes, there was a time when I drank whenever something went wrong.'' - He counted and I leaned my head on his shoulder. - ''And from the state you were in, I know you took your frustration out on having a fight with Lizzie or because she didn't accept Hope.'' - Dad tucked a strand of my hair behind my ear and I wondered how he knew so much. With school and the issues he had with my sister, I didn't think he paid that much attention to me. It was Lizzie who was usually the priority.

''Yeah, maybe that was it.'' - I nodded and he pulled my face, making me look at him.

''Listen...'' - Dad began, looking at me seriously. - ''From now on, whenever you have a problem that you can't handle, I want you to come to me or call your mom.'' - He continued and I bit my lip. - ''Because if you resort to drinking again for that, I swear next time besides giving you a punishment, I'll still spank you.'' - My father threatened and I looked at him. - ''Let it be clear that I'm just not doing it today, because it's the first time that you get drunk.'' - He completed and I shrugged my shoulders.

If I told him I'd had a drink before, would he give up on sending me to therapy with Emma? Yeah, probably not. So I wasn't going to be stupid to make my situation worse.

''I'm not drinking anymore, Dad.'' - I said, letting out a tired sigh.

''You won't.'' - He stated harshly - ''You're only 14, Josette, you have no idea how dangerous alcohol is for teenagers your age.'' - He taught and I nodded.

''Dad, I got it.'' - I looked at him and he sighed.

''Okay, I think now I'll let you rest.'' - He kissed my forehead and got up from my bed - ''And before I forget...'' - Dad stopped in the middle of my room and turned to look at me - ''Don't you dare do magic to ease your headache, I want you to remember exactly what a drunken booze can do.'' - He pointed a finger in my direction and I snorted.

Wonderful. That's exactly what I intended to do.

''But dad...'' - I tried to change his mind, but he interrupted me.

''Nothing more, Josie.'' - He ended the subject, looking at me. - ''Good rest.'' - Dad smiled wryly, before finally leaving my room.

Yeah, I think I deserved it after all.

Here's a new chapter here for you guys. As always, your support is essential :)
