You might be wondering, why the hell am I starting another story when I already have a ton to deal with?

Well, for those of you who might recognize this name, yes, this used to be an old fanfic that was deleted long ago, so I thought hey, why not rewrite it in my vision and make it a bit better. Also, I don't know as much about Naruto as I do for other franchises such as Dragon Ball or My Hero, so correct me if I get some things wrong.

The original author still exists, though he's pretty much inactive: ao2220.

Now we can get this show on the road, and as usual, I own nothing, the Dragon Ball franchise is Akira Toriyama's property, along with possibly Toyotaru's and the Naruto franchise belongs to Masashi Kishimoto.

Chapter 1: Black Luck

There wasn't much left of anything.

It was mostly all void of life. The Planet Earth only had a handful of the population left, thanks to two maniacal gods, who saw their actions as justice, and said it was for the better.

It wasn't! Eliminating all mortal life, then what would be left of the cosmos?

But they didn't care, they held firm to their beliefs and cause.

The numerous battles they fought had constantly went back and forth, each side gaining the upper hand as quickly, sudden and surprising as the other.

Once the heroes had the chaotic deities on the ropes, they resorted to taking drastic measures, as they fused together, combining their powers, now much stronger than before, creating hell all over the land.

Even so, two could play at that game!

"HAAAAAAAA!"

The ruin city shook as a humongous beam of yellow and blue energy rocketed out of the cupped hands of a blue-haired fused Saiyan, Vegito, the fusion of the two mortal Saiyans with access to divine power, Vegeta the Fourth, the Saiyan Prince, and Son Goku, the Saiyan raised on Earth.

With this attack, the Final Kamehameha, a combination of Goku's Kamehameha and Vegeta's Final Flash, their power was much higher than the God of Destruction, Lord Beerus.

"BEHOLD, my perfect divinity!" hollered the fused Zamasu in a boastful voice, who looked like some sort of deformed monster from a superhero comic, taunting the lowly mortal at the thought of that puny being to actually cause damage to him.

"Be perfect in HELL!"

With a ki-infused fist, Vegito swung his arm at Zamasu's face, before the time limit to their fusion finally gave out, as the merged Saiyan split back to their two regular hosts in their base forms.

Finally, it was about time!

A giant purple arm slammed into both of the pure-blooded warriors, knocking them to the concrete below them so hard they bounced back up from the impact, the both of them only seeing the towering disfigured monster before them, and the dark green sky above them.

"Away with you, mortal scum!"

He raised his green, slim arm, as an energy blade made itself known over it, with the intent to slice the two Saiyans in half, and he would have succeeded, if it weren't for the half-Saiyan they had been dealing with for so long before they encountered Goku and Vegeta for the first time.

"BACK FOR MORE, TRUNKS YET AGAIN!?" Zamasu's voice cracked, outraged by the interference of Vegeta's son, who had pestered him time and time again, surprising him time and time again.

Trunks' blue and yellow aura blazed as did his ki sword, as he and the deity continuously traded blows with their weapons, until Trunks earned the achievement for first blood, twice, but like always, he was healed from his damage, along with torso being repaired thanks to his immortality.

"Don't you see?" seethed Zamasu as his purple and gray eyes looked down on the mortal Saiyan. "I'M EVERLASTING!"

The giant, purple and slimy arm lunged at Trunks, sending him far into the dirt, as Zamasu followed him and attempted to strike him down with his blade, as the hybrid Saiyan laid on his back, trying to hold Zamasu with his own sword.

"Tell me, how will you escape my justice next? Will you run to the past begging for help from the rest of your pathetic mortal herd?! Or this time will you try the future? HOW WILL YOU COMPENSATE FOR YOUR WEAKNESS NOW!?"

Trunks knew Earthlings were no saints, he knew the cruelty they possessed, whether it be the Androids, Doctor Gero, or a regular Earthling, there were always the worst to come, rapists, crooks, serial killers, but there were always those who sought to help people, even if they weren't an all powerful alien, he had seen the charity offered from the refugees, even the children who constantly helped him and Mai.

"Compared to gods, then of course we're weak! But you can never make me ashamed of that, cause when mortals do join forces, that's when we can do anything! Because believing in our fellow man and helping each other to survive, THAT'S WHAT REDEEMS US! THAT'S WHAT MAKES US WHO WE ARE, MAKES US WORTHY! THAT'S WHAT GIVES US OUR REAL POWER!"

A strange bright glow began to emanate from Trunks' figure, now spreading everywhere, even reaching the base Bulma, Trunks' mother of the past gave Mai to hold everyone inside.

Energy seemed to be coming from every corner of the planet, whatever life was still left, was heading towards him, and began to form into something inexplainable above him, and some others knew what was happening from earlier experiences.

The explosion was so great, it erased the existence of all the dark clouds in the area, making way for a giant blue sphere in the mesmerizing night sky.

"What's that?" Zamasu couldn't help but wonder.

"Energy," Trunks noticed, gasping at the sight as well. "It's flowing in from every living thing in this world."

His now glowing sword interrupted his train of thought, as it shone brighter than ever before, an azure hue.

"Quickly Vegeta, us too!" Goku requested to his rival.

"Alright!" agreed the Prince as he and the martial artist both gave whatever energy they could to Trunks as well, empowering him further.

He could feel it all, it was invigorating.

"I don't care how much energy you collect, it will never compete with a God's!" In an attempt to halt his growth in power, Zamasu once again swung his arm at Trunks, but he had already anticipated this, jumping back and up into the air, waiting for the Spirit Bomb above to do it's job!

Defeating Zamasu!

Every bit of energy, was infused into his weapon, as quickly as a cheetah running to catch it's weak prey.

The Spirit Bomb Sword was finished, and with it, needed a grandiose name, the Sword of Hope!

With a battle cry, he raced towards the monster that plagued his planet, more than matching him blow for blow.

"NO! You're a mere mortal!" grunted and groaned Zamasu as he struggled to hold off the Sword of Hope from cutting his head open.

"It's not about Gods and mortals! You don't believe in anything but yourself, and WE WON'T LET YOU WIN!"

With two swings, he accomplished two great feats. The first swing, destroying Zamasu's sword. The second, piercing him in the stomach, driving it further and further down.

"But I don't understand how it could be this strong! It feels chaotic, so many different energies melded together!"

"This is the power of mortals fighting for each other, the power of believing in something bigger than just YOU!"

"INSOLENCE!"

The sword was pushed out of his torso, but the hole didn't seem to be regenerating. "How dare you strike a God!? And retaliate against justice!?"

Now for the final blow!

Cutting him in half from the waist down to the head!

"I DON'T GIVE A DAM ABOUT YOU! OR YOUR SO CALLED JUSTICE!"

"But how... it can't! BEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!"

His ear piercing scream faded as he was cut completely in half.

As his final words were giggling like a madman or mentally disabled figured at the fact of how he was beaten, his very being was eradicated of the plain of the Earth.

So, Trunks was proclaimed as a hero by all, but that didn't heal the wounds or the damage that still remained. Luckily, Goku had an idea, to see if the Planet Namek in this timeline still had Namekians living in it, and luckily, there was. They quickly make their way to Namek using Instant Transmission, where they met some Namekians they knew, two being Grand Elder Moori and the now grown Dende. Quite obligingly, they summoned Porunga to bring back everyone who had been killed by Zamasu and his counterpart except those with devious minds and intentions. For an even further boost, Dende offered to be the new Guardian of Earth, so now Trunks could have his own set of Dragon Balls on Earth.

Thus, a new era of peace began in the future, as goodbyes were bid, and everyone was happy.

But while it wasn't a threat to their timelines, the fight wasn't over just yet.

Whenever a baby sleeps, all their worries just drool away.

That's why Boruto Uzumaki things all these babies and little kids are lucky because they don't have to worry about lots of things, or have so much to deal with on their plate. Heck, his little sister's sometimes like that as well.

But he supposed that's what made it fun to be around her, she was like his little sunshine, but she could get very angry when she wanted to.

"She asleep?"

Boruto nodded at his female team member, Sarada Uchiha, who took a seat next to him on the couch, as the two members of Team 7 waited for their other friend Mitsuki to arrive, as he was on his way from a local grocery story in the Hidden Leaf Village, although it could hardly be considered as hidden, or a village, it was the first metropolitan area to ever exist in the Land of Fire, thanks to the efforts of Boruto's father, the Seventh Hokage, Naruto Uzumaki.

"Something on your mind?" queried the Uchiha girl, getting a look at Boruto's droopy face after a long day.

The Uzumaki boy sighed. "Well, I mean, after the whole thing with Momoshiki, I've been getting bored lately, not much bad guys to fight and these missions we get now are almost like everyday chores."

"Well, I for one, quite enjoy this time of peace!" Sarada strongly rebutted, as she put her hands behind her head, thankful the D-rank mission they got today wasn't as strenuous as they thought. Usually babysitting was a chore since they expected whoever they were going to take care of to be disobedient, demanding and rowdy, but this 15-month old didn't seem to be that much of an issue.

"Well, maybe you can stop saying 'well' when you start a sentence."

"Same to you."

The two shared a quick laugh, as the sleeping baby gurgled a bit, it's subconsciousness taking over. Sarada and Boruto imagined they were the same when they had just been brought out of the womb.

Boruto continued on their earlier conversation. "Look, even if there's a crazy strong enemy to fight, your dad and mine fought crazy bad guys before we were born, and they kept getting stronger all the time, so just relax a bit. Maybe we'll get a piece of the action again someday."

Sarada just shrugged. The future was always uncertain, but that's why they train all the time. Maybe someday they would be able to rival their fathers.

"GAAGH!"

A long figure got up from the forest he was seemingly asleep in, now on his knees and hands, all fours touching the grass, as he breathed heavily, regaining his composure.

His appearance was one very similar to Goku's, but was different in many aspects.

For one, he had a slightly darker skin shade, his Time Ring was now gone, his clothing was black and red instead of yellow and blue, and he had a green earring called a Potara on one of his ears.

Once he properly stood up, the first thing he did was attempt to locate any familiar energy signatures, Goku, Trunks, Vegeta, his counterpart from an alternate future, but he failed to do so. What's more, he noticed his power had severely replenished from whatever trip he had to get here. Before this, the last thing he remembered was getting sliced in half by the traitorous retaliator that was Trunks.

The false Saiyan, the Goku doppelganger, the one who called himself Goku Black, snarled in frustration.

"Have I been transported to another reality perhaps?"

It was a thought to consider, Gowasu had spoken of such a possibly of realms existing outside of the twelve universes, but there was just never anything to confirm it. Maybe Zuno knew about such, but now it was too late to dwell within.

Although, he couldn't look a gift horse in the mouth, he got a second chance, and he was to take it. So, first things first, all of the mortals of this world were still alive and flourishing, but he needed info of them before he began the cleansing, so the first step, was to fly towards the nearest civilization, and if they had a library, he would spend his time reading for hours on the history of this world.

He had patience, and could read for as long as was required, but now... it was getting dark, and he needed some proper rest. The only thing nearby was a waterfall with a cave next to it, so once again, he couldn't bite a gift horse in the mouth, crawling into the cave, and waited.

Eventually he succumbed.

Today was going to be the last day these mortals ever knew peace.

So, yes, Black's power has significantly gone down, but he's going to get stronger overtime. Chapter 2 is already in the works so be prepared for that.
