I've recently discovered why I can't use more than one exclamation point in each sentence unlike everyone else. I use Story instead of DocX. Now I know. Every chapter I have written so far has been Story, so now I'll just use DocX and post it and see what happens. Multiple exclamation points help out really good with stories. But the issue with DocX? You can't use bold!

So, I'll just stick with Story, it'll be a shame not being able to use multiple exclamation points to properly prove a point, but I think everyone can understand. For reviews, if they aren't guests, I'm debating whether to answer here, or PM. We'll see how this goes.

Disclaimer: I own nothing.

Chapter 3: Black Forewarning

It was the definition of Hell.

The four of them arrived at the scene and stopped their tracks to see the horrible destruction, what was left of the Hidden Cloud Village.

There were barely any remains, there were even some burnt remains of human bodies that made them sick to their stomach, a burnt corpse was laying ten feet away from them, cut in half with the bowels showing.

Mitsuki was in disbelief about this, and couldn't say anything. Who and why would anyone commit such an atrocity.

Sarada was hit the hardest, as her hands flew to her mouth, horrified as she collapsed to the floor on her knees, tears escaping her eyes. "Why? Why did everybody have to die...? They didn't deserve to die!"

It made the others share their sadness of the tragedy that unfolded without their knowledge.

Boruto was really upset deep inside, but he was almost the most angry about this. He hadn't witnessed such destruction since Momoshiki had interrupted the Chūnin Selection Exams. He still had fond memories of the Raikage fighting alongside Boruto and many others to stop that crazy pale-skinned bastard. He really thought he was cool guy to hang out but now he was gone. His fists clenched so hard that if he never clipped his nails, blood would have dripped. He swore to all the people and the Raikage, he was going to find this person who's responsible for all of this and deal with him personally.

He could have sworn he heard something coming from that distance from behind, and once he started to hear the source of the sound, he decided to track it down.

"Boruto, where are you going?!" called out Konohamaru as he, Sarada and Mitsuki followed the Uzumaki child who kept running and running.

Boruto needed to find out what happened and hopefully this person would give him the answers he needed. It didn't take him long and not too far from his friends from his point of view to reach his destination, but all he saw is just a large of piles of rocks and heard a voice in there again.

"SOMEONE HELP ME!"

It sounded like a woman begging for help and was in pain. Boruto peeked inside the rubble and saw a pair of eyes sticking out, and the look of their eyes was much too familiar to Boruto after recent events.

"Don't worry, l'll get my friends and my Sensei to help you, don't do anything and just wait here!" Before he left the area within another two feet, everyone else was already catching up to him.

Konohamaru was the first to question him. "Boruto! What were you thinking running off like that!?"

Boruto replied without hesitation, not afraid by his Sensei's outburst. "Right here's your reason! There's someone in this pile of rocks, so help me get her out!"

None of them wanted to questioned Boruto concerning this matter, and by the sound of his voice, he wasn't playing around so they decided to help him. All of them pushed all the boulders out of the way, Sarada being the main contributor mostly thanks to her immense strength just like her mother. Once all the rocks were cleared out, they all laid their eyes on a dark skinned woman who looked to be in her mid 30's and covered in bruises and blood all over her body, but luckily alive.

Konohamaru slowly trotted towards her, and lifted her under his arm. "Don't you worry ma'am, me and my team will do our best to get you medical attention as soon as possible."

The woman couldn't be more grateful, and she could tell how many individuals there were, despite her vision being very blurry at the moment. She was almost at the point of passing out at any given moment. "Thank you... thank God I'm alive before he tried to kill me along with everybody."

So it was a person responsible for the disaster, and not just something natural. She spoke with so much hatred with that one word all of them tensed up slightly.

"What do you mean 'he'?" Konohamaru wondered, his three students eagerly waiting for her to respond.

She slightly coughed up some rubble and spit before she began. "I'll start from the beginning... a year ago, I had left the Hidden Cloud Village. I wasn't banned o-or, or anything... I had just dreamed of being an explorer ever since I was a child, and wanted to visit the other villages for myself, and I wanted to share those stories with my family when I was supposed to get back home today... when he showed up!"

There was her home.

It had been so long since she had seen or heard of her family, and knowing that her older sister had gotten married a day before she left, she quickly assumed maybe she had a child with her husband, of course this was only speculation and a theory, but even if it wasn't true, she would still be more than pleased to spend time with the people who raised her and cared for her.

The last time she had seen her parents and six-year old younger brother, they were slightly tearing up over her leaving, but they stayed strong, knowing she would be back one day.

Today was exceptionally hot, and feeling incredibly quenched, she sat down on the bark of a tree, pulling out a canteen and consuming the last of it's remains. It was only another half hour walk from here to the entrance, so it shouldn't be too difficult for her.

Then, up above the city, she saw a black dot.

She was sure she wasn't hallucinating since she hadn't taken any sort of drugs before her journey back. She scrambled through her backpack and grabbed a pair of binoculars, allowing her to get a better view of the black dot, which was actually a tall man with a light and dark skin tone, with ridiculously spiky hair, white boots, and dark clothing.

But what astounded her was that he was hovering in midair, and in his hand was a glowing, purplish black ball.

She also didn't expect him to shoot it down to the ground, which had become a dark colored beam of some sorts.

A second later, the ground under her rocked, as she lost her hold on her binoculars, animals started to flee by her, knocking her down, as she tried to get up too, but the earthquake under her prevented it. The rocks above her didn't help the situation at all, as all of them rocketed down into her, as she crouched to the ground, arms over her heads in an attempt to shield herself.

The rest had been history.

She was so frightened by the experience, screaming for help was the only thing that could escape her mouth, and she was glad her prayers were accepted, before her eyes slowly shut.

"Oh, no!" exclaimed Sarada as she held the woman's head before she fell down.

Konohamaru knew he didn't have much time left, as she took the injured female from the Uchiha girl's hands, picking her up in bridal style. "It's because of all the blood she's lost! We have to get her back to the village immediately!"

No one had an objection to say, as they sprinted as fast as they could to the Hidden Leaf Village.

The tremor had reached the Hidden Leaf as well, as there had been some cracks on the ground, along with people everywhere attempting to comfort each other. Luckily, there were only a few major and minor injuries, taking account into everyone from the metropolis.

Team 7 was waiting near the door inside the Kohona Hospital where they had brought in the lady from the Hidden Cloud that they found. All of them had many thoughts swarming in their minds.

Konohamaru was wondering how could someone be so powerful to bring about such a large scale of destruction in such a short span of time.

Sarada was silently praying in her head that the unnamed female would be alright.

Mitsuki was thinking about what kind of Jutsu could be used to resemble such a move that was described.

Boruto was still fuming like a volcano near eruption, wanting to get revenge on all the people who died immediately, but his face showed a calm and angry façade, as to not alert his teammates, and best friends.

They were all alerted by one of the doctors who came through the door, a passive expression read on him. "Well, it looks like you guys were just in time to bring her in, had it been a minute longer, she wouldn't have made it. The injuries she sustained were pretty severe, so she's going to have to go through surgery and about a week or two's rest before we can release her."

The team captain heard all that he needed, shaking the doctor's hand. "Thank you, once she's released, tell her to meet with me."

He nodded before heading back in, with Team 7 heading for the exit. The mangled traveler they saved was basically homeless now thanks to that living force of destruction decimating every inch Kumogakure, so she needed some support to start her life back up from the ground.

The worries of Boruto, Sarada and Mitsuki were soothed once they heard she would live, the possibly of her dying on them was something none of them wanted to bear on their shoulders.

"The rest of you can take a break, you deserve it. I'll go and speak to the Hokage about this alone," Konohamaru announced as they marched through the front door, the three kids coming to a halt, watching their Sarutobi clan leader head off to the office of Boruto's father.

Concerning him, Boruto's opinions about him were always mixed, in between, it was unusual for complete malice and hatred, or love and adoration, but he did respect him for who he was, his previous accomplishments, in addition to how strong and resourceful he was, and something like this couldn't be kept quiet from him. And being the Hokage wasn't any walk in the park, being in charge of tens of thousands of people and helping them every day, along with issues concerning business. If Sarada wanted the job, she could go for it, there was no way he was going to deal with any of that, not even if his life depended on it.

"HEY, BORUTO!"

Three of his friends from the Academy had come to see him, knowing Team 7 was in the closest proximity near the village's destruction. Shikadai Nara, Inojin Yamanaka, and Chōchō Akimichi were all thankful the trio had arrived back home near safe and sound, save for some bruises.

The child of Shikamaru approached them first, sounding very relieved, worried and curious. "Did any of you guys see what happened earlier at the Hidden Cloud?! Somehow it managed to reach here! We thought you guys were dead back there for real!"

Inojin voiced his concerns as well. "My parents went completely frantic after hearing the village was destroyed! How could anyone even do that?! Why would anyone even do that!?"

Sarada tried to come up with a sufficient answer for Inojin, but none came to her mind. "I really don't know. I can't think of any move that summons a dark ball of light and shoots it down to the ground!"

Boruto's family immediately materialized within the young Uzumaki's mind. He wasn't fearing the worst, knowing how resilient and strong his mother was, but he still had to be sure.

"Hey, I'm gonna go and check on Mom and Himiwari, I'll talk to you guys later!"

They all waved farewell, and wished him a safe trip home, watching Boruto wasting no time sprinting towards his humble abode. The five of them couldn't do much but speak amongst themselves as they too walked to their respective homes together.

"So, just to be safe, as far as you guys know, none of you had any family living in, or visiting Kumogakure today, right? I-I just wanna be sure you know," stammered Inojin, concerned for the wellbeing of his friends.

"Not as far as I know, don't have any mystery siblings that were kept away from me," sarcastically replied Shikadai.

"But... you don't have any siblings," innocently replied Mitsuki.

He chuckled at the pale-skinned boy's antics, putting his arm around his neck and shoulder. "I was just joking, ever read any comics or something like that? You should really get into them, me and my dad spent two hours binging a whole three volumes one day."

I guess it's nice they're trying to look on the positive side of things for now, but we don't know where this guy's gonna go next! Sarada inwardly murmured. Chōchō wasn't as calm as the rest of the group, and Sarada seemed to be the only one to notice, the boys being a bit far up ahead of them, and now in full swing of the comic conversation.

"Hey... talk to me... I can help you..." consoled the Uchiha girl, which pleased her chubby friend, who was in tears.

"S-sorry Sarada... it's just that, my mom was so sad about what happened to her village and... my dad tried his best to comfort her and he promised her he'll never leave our side, no matter what! This is so much worse than what happened at the Chūnin Exams!"

Sarada tried to stay strong for her, wrapping her arms around the weeping girl's wide body, rubbing her back as if she was her mother.

"Don't worry Chōchō we'll find this criminal who destroyed your mom's birth home and bring him into justice. Besides with the hokage and my dad they will work together to bring an end to the one who's responsible for all of this."

This seemed to give Chōchō some hope, she was finally getting to smile again, returning the physical gesture. "Thank you Sarada, for being my best friend."

"Hey, no problem. What are friends for, right?" They released the hug and Chōchō began to head off, leaving Sarada behind and waving goodbye to her. Well, she supposed she should be getting home as well, Sakura wasn't the most lenient mom around...

Speaking of which, how many hours has it been since they last spoke?

Oh crap! I totally forgot about Mom!

He lightly banged his fingertips on his wooden desk, and ran his other hand through his golden hair, lightly scratching it.

Naruto Uzumaki didn't know what to think of this, there were so many things swimming within him. He couldn't just lash out then and there, but still!

After Konohamaru informed Naruto of what they heard and witnessed, he thanked him and gave him the day off to recuperate, leaving Naruto and one of his longtime friends to discuss their own speculation.

"I don't get it..." he groaned, a mix of annoyance, frustration and mourning, his volume as quiet as a mouse tiptoeing out of it's hole, almost apathetic, his nose scrunching up. "How does this man possess such an ability to completely destroyed the Hidden Cloud Village and for what reason would he do such a thing?"

"I'm not really sure," Shikamaru answered the Seventh Hokage as his personal adviser. "There's lunatics like these everywhere around the globe, so this is probably one of my mediocre guesses, but maybe this is a shinobi who was shunned out and is probably now looking to be recognized as the wielder of the strongest and rarest chakra out there, but probably didn't have any good conditions of living until he was eighteen, maybe almost like you when you were a kid, expect this guy is just hellbent on destruction. My second theory was he might just be a new enemy that we've never encountered before, but that same saying goes for pretty much everyone we fought in the past."

Naruto knew he didn't have much to go off, so he decided to stick with the second theory provided to him. "He could be, Konohamaru said from the woman he rescued, he didn't hesitate one bit in eradicating everyone there."

"So what are we gonna do? Sooner or later, this is gonna have to go out to the general public, it's not something we can hide under lock and key forever."

The Hokage agreed. "I'll warn the other Kages about this guy and ask them to heavily fortify their security in their own villages, and I want you to call the Kohona Anbu to search for this guy. We have a general description of what he looks like, so he shouldn't be hard to miss. If all else fails, I'll send in for Sasuke as a last resort. I might even have to step in myself, and serve that bastard justice."

They already knew what that meant. They'd have to kill him, and they would do so with no restraints. Wiping an entire village off the map was all heinous in itself, there was zero room for redemption. Plus, if the Anbu were being called already, this was something major, but Shikamaru didn't think even they could get out of this in a suitable condition. They'd have to put up a harsh fight.

Hoping to calm him down, Shikamaru approached Naruto and put a hand on his shoulder, speaking to him, not as his advisor... but as his friend... "Naruto, don't sweat it, 'kay? Might not be the best thing to say, but you're one of the best guys to ever be in the business, everyone's depending on you, let's not get everyone's hopes down."

His response was a silent smirk and nod, and that was enough to satisfy him. "Goodnight, Lord Hokage."

He closed the door behind him as he left, leaving the village leader to his own thoughts, whom he assumed was now probably picking up his phone and dialing the rest of the village Kages around the nations. He wouldn't be surprised if it was actually a Shadow Clone in that office.

He should probably go and check how Shikadai and Temari were doing, no doubt they were a bit shaken up by this too.

Back inside the office, five Anbu members had appeared out of nowhere from a cloud of smoke, bowing before the Hokage, who stood up from his desk respectively.

One Anbu member was male, wearing a bird mask, with brown, spiky hair at the back of his head. The second member was also male and wore a dog mask and had small black hair. The third member wore a lizard mask and had shaggy, long brown hair. the fourth member wore a monkey mask and had a shaved head, and the last member was the only female in the group and wore a tiger mask and had long brunette hair.

The squad leader, the bird masked Anbu spoke in turn. "Lord Hokage, how can we be of service to you tonight?"

"I want you all to track every part of the Hidden Leaf and beyond, search for any sort of suspicion revolving around the man responsible for the complete annihilation of the Hidden Cloud. I already notified the other Kages of this, so there might be a slight chance of you possibly running in to their Anbu if they sent their own."

The dog masked AnbPu raised his hand. "Lord Hokage, may I ask for a general description of the figure we are looking for?"

"From what Konohamaru told me from the girl he and Team 7 brought in earlier, this man was described of having tan skin, hair that resembles a palm tree and all dark clothing, and a pair of white boots. He'll stick out like a sore thumb."

"Don't worry Lord Hokage, we'll get the job done," replied the squad leader.

"Oh, and one more thing I need to tell you... this guy is by no means a normal fighter, if this mission goes astray please come back to the village immediately." All of the Anbu members nodded, assuring their boss they would return back to the Hidden Leaf still breathing. They all disappeared once again without a trace.

Naruto heaved out a sigh of relief. He hoped everything would be fine once they caught that killer. Now all that was left was some paperwork to finish, then he could go home to see his wife and his kids, if they were also uninjured. No doubt Boruto went to check up on them first, family was very important to him.

If this cretin wasn't killed, he needed to know this perpetrator's next move, he couldn't afford to fail from keeping other people from succumbing to the hands of this foe, no longer was he the carefree child from the olden days.

No blood was going to be spilled if he had a say in it.
