Chapter 142: Izuku's dream
On his way to the Warcraft of Doom's hideout, Izu recalled a flashback of himself before the camping trip, having a dream about what will happen if his friends keep being overly protective and overbearing towards him. In his dream, Izu's friends announced to the press that to be sure to keep one for all safe, Izu will no longer be a hero, causing every civilian to call him a coward for retiring, when actually, Izu's friends was just being overprotective because they think that he's weak, defenseless, and a simple kid who's just recklessly do stuff without thinking. Izu then gets overwhelmed by the escalating criticism until he woke himself up by screaming. After the flashback ends, Izu lands under a streetlight and wished that his friends will see him as independent and not a weakling as he starts crying.
Meanwhile back at the hideout, Morgan told his comrades that Izu just left Heights Alliance Apartments according to spies, causing Hatsume to smile evilly as he, Tomura, Rikya, the Eliminator, Onika, Tosha, and Himiko plays Uno before revealing his plan to get Izu onto their side so they can take down the heroes. The plan was to turn Izu against his friends by using his insecurities to make him vulnerable and question his career as a hero. Then they will pretend that they have a change a heart and trick him into coming here thinking that they will help him proves himself as a hero before using a machine that will brainwash him, whether he wants it or not. Everyone then laughs evilly until Kurigori reminds them that they shouldn't give away their true intention before they got Izu to let them help him, which Hatsume agrees before saying that until Izu is part of their organization, they must stay low and not have high profiles. Soon, everyone resumes laughing evilly until Hatsume say that he won again much to the other players annoyance, which was demonstrated by Tosha, who threw her cards at Hatsume.
Meanwhile, Izu walks through the streets until he notices a group of ruffians sneaking off somewhere and decided to follow them. Soon, he found out that the ruffians are heading to his building, where Eri is probably sleeping, causing Izu to get paranoid and imagine what would happen to Eri if the ruffians managed to get into his apartment. Izu then set off to block the ruffians' way and ask them where they are going this late at night, causing the ruffians to tell him none of his business, which also caused Izu to sternly ask again before getting defensive. One of the ruffians then get mad and told Izu that they were told to kill the Peanut Gallery at Heights Alliance Apartments, causing Izu to get furious as he and the ruffians began fighting. Izu then won by managing to outsmart each ruffian before winning a hand-to-hand brawl with the ruffian leader in approximately three minutes. The ruffians then start begging for mercy after getting brutally beaten, causing Izu to coldly tell the ruffian that he doesn't want to see them on the school premise ever again. The ruffians then get up before taking off crying, leaving Izu proud of himself as he patted himself on the back. suddenly, his friends came out before asking him if they could talk to him for a moment before some of them gives him puppy dog eyes while everyone else on the verge of tears. Izu then look back before sighing and say ok, causing his friends to smile before taking him inside while a couple of spies sent by the Warcraft of Doom watched on.
