Chapter 144: A tragedy happened
Shoto's phone began to ring, causing him to answer it and became surprised that it's his dad saying that he, his mother, and siblings just saw Izu flying with tears in his eyes before asking if something happened, causing Momo to become determined and take Shoto's phone to tell Endeavor that what's happening is the end of Izu's midlife crisis. She then hung up before asking Tsu if she's ok with her nose punched, which caused Tsu to say that it just fazed her. Hanta then asks Momo what they are going to do, causing Momo to get on the table and told everyone that as the U.A. League, they must make Izu understand that he's not the only one with insecurities and they can still be heroes together, even if haters say otherwise, causing everyone to cheer before putting on their costume, with Pony getting Izu's real costume before setting off to get the Deku they know and loves back to his old self again. What they didn't know is before leaving, Hatsume told Taz to fire a missile at Heights Alliance Apartments, which caused the babies, Whobert, and Fuego to rush out of the building, but the building blew up when they were close to the door.
Meanwhile, Izu flew all alone as he cries his eyes out and monologue about his friendship with his teammates before lamenting that he thought things are going to be different between him and his friends, but was wrong because they still think that he wasn't ready to fight villains. He then lands before continuing on foot to sing a song called By myself which is about what he's been through since the Warcraft of Doom's escape from Tartarus, which started depressingly before becoming full of determination. After the song, Izu is a block away toward a swamp, which is where the Warcraft of Doom's new hideout is located. Suddenly, Izu got attacked by Tsu, who uses her tongue to make him trip, which caused Izu to get defensive as his friends came toward him with Eijiro and Mina telling him to stop.
Izu then ask his friends what they want before asking if they're going to ground him for leaving, causing Momo to tell Izu that they just want to tell him something, which also caused Izu to tell her that they had their chance back at their building, but they lost it because of what they said to him. Mina then takes a deep breath and apologized to Izu for the fight they had, causing Izu to give her a cold and threatening look before saying that his name is Black Might. Pony then grab Izu's arm when he turns around and told him that his hero name is Deku before showing him his old costume, causing Izu to say that he denounced being called Deku and said that he's going to the Warcraft of Doom's new hideout whether they like it or not. After Katsuki sternly said that he's not going without a team. Izu gets angry and defensive before challenging his friends to try to stop him because he's going to prove to them that he's capable enough to defend and fight for himself one way or another, causing his friends to accept the challenge.
