007: Black Ivy: Chapter 5

I stood there in shock, and I knew my face showed it, because when the train came out of the tunnel and there was light again, Alex asked me if I was okay. "No, do you know who that was?" I asked him. Alex looked at me for a minute.

"The man or the voice? The man looked kind of like that man called Mr Hix. Wait, was that even his name...?" Alex sat back down in his seat and I sat back down in mine, trying to not show that I was shaking all over. After a few minutes of awkward silence, Alex broke it.

"So, where did you learn to shoot?" Whatever I was expecting him to ask, it wasn't that. My head whipped up to stare at him. "You didn't think I would ask that, huh?" I shook my head silently.

"You said your brother was 007. Wasn't there already one?" I asked, attempting to steer the conversation in a different direction. "Oh, right. Crappy news... well, you know that woman who was 007? Fantastic at her field. Just, a little cocky. Got a little headstrong. Long story, short, lets just say she killed 14 Russian police and injured like 35 of them." I sucked in breath through my teeth.

"Surely my dad did that?" I asked. "Yeah, but to his allies? It was made a big deal. You know, everyone overreacts, M decided to move her to back up field agent. Swap places with my brother." Alex gave a half smile. As the train moved on, I realised just how handsome Alex actually was.

Blonde hair that sometimes fell into his eyes, his eyes, a deep blue, a few shades darker than forget my nots. He had quite pale skin and was quite tall. His hoodie fitted him nicely and his blue jeans were a perfect fit. By 6 o'clock we went to the dining room.

"Hello, I am Mattew. I will be your server this evening." He had a strange posh accent for a waiter with a black towel over his shoulder and a white shirt. He pronounced his name like Matt-tew, not Math-ew. "Thanks... Matt-tew. Can I have the pasta carbonara and a sparkling water?" asked Alex.

Mattew nodded. "And your lady?" he asked. "I will have the pasta carbonara and just plain water. Please." I added. Mattew raised his eyebrows but said nothing and scribbled my order down in a scribble. Surprisingly, our food was ready in 5 minutes. Alex picked at the mushrooms in the pasta, but I love mushrooms.

By the time I was finished, Alex had tried a mushroom and liked it. "1 hour to we are at Calais." Said Alex as we finished our triple chocolate cake in an oozing chocolate sauce and vanilla ice cream at the side. "It will only take half an hour to get to Dover. On boat." I said. So that is how I spent my last hour in France. Packing up my bags that were all over the floor.
