007: Black Ivy: Chapter 7

Alex's adopted mother was so nice. She was letting me stay at their house. Jake took a little more convincing. I looked closer and saw that his eyes were actually a brilliant blue. Alex's house was beautiful.

It was a small house, but not cramped, more like the cosy type. The street that they lived on was close to where Q lived and Miss Moneypenny, which was also close to M16. I asked Jakes mum, Carol, about the location of her house. She laughed it off, saying that working as a private scientist paid well and Jake made a lot from being the new 007.

Their house was on a 20 house street. Number 234. All houses had a crème painting front with different colour of doors. Carol's door was green and had purple and pink flowers around the front door. The front hall lead past the carpeted-stairs and past the small living room and into the kitchen. The kitchen overlooked the small garden with the flower bed lining around the high fence.

The kitchen was small with a four seated table beside the fridge and the cooker was lined against the opposite wall beside the sink and dishwasher. The doors matched each other with a white paint and glass looking out into the hallway.

The living room was small and cosy in a rectangular shape with a book case in the corner by the door, a TV beside the book shelf and a blue velvet sofa pushed against the wall at the other side of the door, with about a metre between the TV and the sofa.

At the far end of the room, there was circular window. In front of it, there was a desk, made of a rich wood, with a stack of books on the corner of the desk beside the lamp. Beside the desk, tucked into the wall, there was a fireplace.

The wallpaper only covered the back wall. It was plain white with purple birds flying on it. The stairs led up to the second floor. The landing had like 2 layers. There was a guest bedroom and Alex's bedroom facing each other.

Then, 2 stairs up, there was Carol's bedroom facing out over the landing and Jakes' old bedroom beside Carol's. It came to my understanding that Jake had his own house a few streets away. Alex told me that he came over for dinner, but that was it. Over the past year, Jake had grown more and more apart from his family, and even though she didn't show it, Carol was heartbroken.

There were 2 family dogs, a Great Dane puppy and a fully grown golden Labrador. Alex said that they had the 2 dogs because Q used to come every Sunday with his disgusting vegetarian dishes. I was to stay in the guest bedroom. It was a medium sized, rectangular room, with a window seat overlooking loads of gardens behind the Boyle's home.

There was a desk pushed up against the wall beside the window seat and a comfy looking bed in the corner. The carpet was a pink salmon colour and there was a bookshelf and a TV in the room. It was cosy. Alex left and let me put down my bags and let me go to bed. Tomorrow was the first day of M16.
