Disclaimer: I do not own anything pertaining to the My Hero Academia franchise. I do however claim ownership to the Quirk(s) I've made up.
As time went on for Izuku Midoriya her Quirk, which she aptly called Summoning, got stronger. She was able to summon different creatures now, but to summon them it came with a twist. She now had to contain their contract, which was bound to her very being, before she could summon them at all. After Summoning a creature and gaining their contract a tattoo of the creature would appear on her skin, but strangely enough she could make it so no one but herself or those she wants to see then, can see them. The only creature she didn't have to have a contract with was Enzo since apparently he was her protector summon. The proud Fire Drake was born just for her. A companion forever and always even if she loses her contracts or even her life. His tattoo, despite of not having his contract, was etched onto her side.
If she died, so did Enzo.
Her Quirk made her able to summon not only the creatures she had under contract, but she was able to summon their attributes as well if she was too tired to summon them fully. Izuku found that out one morning when she tried to summon one of her newer summons, after staying up the whole night, and ended up with black scales scattered all over her body and began sinking into the shadow of her dresser.
Needless to say she was ecstatic to do more research on her own Quirk!
She already had several notebooks on different Heroes Quirks and even a few on some notable Villains, but she ended up with several notebooks filled up with just her own Quirk and her summons. She main kept to creatures that others would call mythical or legendary. She of course could summon a common animal, but she preferred their mythical counterparts since they could help more during a fight than say a small cat.
As far as summons go she had her Fire Drake, Enzo, of course.
A Nature Spirit, Koharu, a small wingless, four legged, snake-like dragon with two small white nubs adorning her head where her horns will grow and fur leading down from the top of her head to her tail. The little summon, a hatchling still, was her main Healer of the group though she could fight with her control over nature itself when she needed to.
Up next was Leothain, a Warrior of his Clan and the strongest, strength wise, of her summons, she usually called him Leo. He was a Chimera with the head and body of a white furred lion, wings of a bird, a snake for a tail, and the antlers of a deer on his head. He was a very proud being and it was well deserved.
The second creature she had ever summoned, was Pyra. The oldest creature of her summons, Pyra, is a phoenix and was her last resort summon. When Izuku had gained her contract it came with the stipulation that Izuku could only summon her in the case of an emergency, as a last resort really, of either combat or healing. Other than that Izuku could use her abilities any other time. Izuku really liked using her wings, especially in the cold, they were so warm and comforting.
Her smallest summon was Lazu. She mostly summoned the small dragon to do recon for her since he had the ability to blend in and travel through the shadows. Lazu was a Dwarf Fairy Dragon and was fully grown to the length of her forearm.
Her last summon, and newest one, was Astraeus, Astra for short, a Gryphon. He was the fastest of her summons and the one she went to when she needed to get somewhere quickly. His speed rivaled a bullet train and he was only getting faster everyday with his training. He had the hind end of a lion and the front end of a golden eagle. Though Astraeus was built for speed he was a fearsome fighter when he needed to be. At the moment she only had a tentative bond with him as a trial bases to make sure they were compatible with each other before making things more permanent.
Her mother, bless her, had signed Izuku up early for gymnastic and for martial arts and had spoken to Mitsuki to sign Katsuki up for the classes as well. Along with the two classes Izuku and Katsuki took up free running and yoga in their free time and took actual classes during the summer when school let out.
By the time they were ready to choose what high school to go to both Katsuki and Izuku were more than ready to face whatever was going to happen. Of course they chose to go to U.A. and didn't even pick a secondary school in case they didn't make it into the school. They were confidant they were going to make it in, especially since the Hero Commission implemented new rules to get into the Hero School.
"It's a new system that the Hero Commission and the Hero Schools have come up with. Every student that wants to become a student to a Hero School must undergo some kind of test set by a Hero and get their Approval for even the application to get sent in and for the student to get the examination. They're really cracking down on the students lately as a way to make sure that students are actually in this for the people and not to slack off. They've even taken away the recommendations for students since everyone now has to be approved by a Hero. They're doing it for each Hero Class and the Support Classes."
Izuku sipped her hot cocoa as she watched the national news. There had been talk of this happening for months now, but nothing was confirmed until today. Katsuki was sitting beside her drinking his own spicy hot cocoa while running his hand over Lazu. The little dragon loved how warm Katsuki was and tended to stick near the blond when Izuku summoned him.
"The Hero Commission has stated that every student that is wanting to get into the Hero Schools has to sign a form at their nearest Hero Union branch to get registered for a Hero to choose them for their Approval and to get their applications. They'll get put into a database that only Heroes, and applicants, are allowed to get into and from there the student gets a call from the Union to meet the Hero that chose them. After that it really is a waiting game for their application to get processed and for them to hopefully get accepted. I don't know about you Yuiko, but I can't wait to see how all of this turns out."
"I can't wait either Nishita. Now onto other news the President of the Uni-"
Izuku let out a sigh as Katsuki turned the television off before turning to her best friend and crush. "Well," she said making Lazu look over at her at almost the same time Katsuki did, "when are we going?"
It only took them a few moments of silence and looking at each other before the two were jumping up off the couch and scrambling to get their shoes on. Izuku had sent Lazu back to his plane of existence as she called out to her Mom that they would be back in a bit and where they were going.
"Be careful and don't forget to go to the store!"
"I won't!"
"Name?"
"Izuku Midoriya."
"Age?"
"15."
"Blood Type?"
"O."
The line to the reception was long at their local Union branch, which Izuku wasn't surprised about and the workers there even got a few extra stations set up for the rush of Hero hopefuls. After waiting a little over half and hour, a reasonable time really for how long the lines were when both Izuku and Katsuki got there, Izuku was finally able to be speak to the receptionist.
"Quirk?"
"Creature Summoning. Emitter and Mutation Hybrid."
"Description of your Quirk?"
"I'm able to summon creatures to fight by my side or take on the characteristics of the creatures I summon such as their wings, horns, claws, and abilities should they have any."
"May I have your contact information?"
Izuku rattled off her phone number and email as well as her mothers' number when prompted for an emergency contact number. It didn't take long for the information to be sent to the registry and for the application to be put in her hands. She was told to fill in the application and take it with her when she went to go meet the Hero that chose her. Afterwards the Hero will add a sealed envelope to be sent with the application from the Hero's Agency so there is no chance the student could tamper with the Hero's decision.
"It'll take about a week before we call you since multiple Heroes can tag your profile. The week is to give your profile time to be seen and to give Heroes the time to make their final decisions which of course they can pull their tag at anytime before your final decision," the receptionist said as she gave Izuku a smile, "After that you'll can take a couple of days to make your decision on who you want to go to for your testing. In the case you do take a couple of days you can call up here and talk to one of us to contact the Hero. After that all communication is between you and the Hero or the Hero's Agency."
"I understand," Izuku said before thanking the receptionist for her time and left with Katsuki not far behind her.
"What's the chance one of the top five Heroes actually pick someone to approve?" Katsuki asked as he shoved his hands in his pockets. Both of their applications were in his backpack since they didn't want the papers to get damaged during their walk to the store.
"Almost slim to none," Izuku answered, "The Heroes that high up are going to be too busy to deal with a student. I mean with all of the uprisings in villainy lately."
"I suppose you're right," the blond said as they reached the store. Izuku grabbed a cart that they could share before walking into the main part of the store. Izuku quickly grabbed what she needed before grabbing a few things she wanted. Her mother had given her a credit/debit card that was connected to her account that Izuku can use when she wanted on the stipulation that it wasn't used for anything expensive or stupid, without asking permission to get it from her mother first, that is.
"So when are Auntie Mitsuki and Uncle Masaru suppose to get back?" Izuku asked as she grabbed some things to make a cheesecake covered in chocolate.
"Three days," Katsuki replied as he placed a bag a rice in the cart and a large jar of very spicy pickled peppers. The blond really liked to snack on them.
Izuku nodded as they turned around to get to the register to pay, but not before grabbing some snacks as well as some soda for the two of them later.
"Wanna fill out the applications together?"
"Sure!"
After the two filled out the application, which took a long time to get done, they waited day and night for the call from the Union. Upon reading the application they found a website they can log into to check the status on their registry.
"I got three!" Katsuki announced three days after they had filled the applications. Her blond friend just barged into her room, which she was used to, but she had just been getting dressed after getting out of the shower. Izuku at least had a bra and shorts on.
"This isn't the worst thing you've caught me doing," Izuku said as she pulled her sweater down covering her top half after a moment of them just staring at each other.
"Yup."
Izuku let out a snort at the nonchalant answer as she sat down on her bed and pulled her laptop towards herself. "So you got three hits on your profile so far?" Izuku asked as Katsuki made himself comfortable on her bed.
"Yes!" Katsuki said a bit impatiently as he showed Izuku the screen of his phone. His profile picture, his school picture, was the first thing she saw when she looked down and underneath the picture there was an exclamation mark with the words 'Three Heroes have pinned your profile.'
"Have you clicked on it to see if it shows you what Heroes pinned your profile?" Izuku asked as she logged into the website and pulled up her own profile. Under her own school picture there was a notification stating that Four Heroes had pinned her profile. "I got four!" Izuku announced as she clicked on the notification.
"I just clicked on the link," Katsuki said as he focused on his phone, "It says, Endeavour, Gun Head, and some Hero named Electoplant pinned my profile."
"Electoplant is a Hero that uses electricity for long range and close range attacks," Izuku murmured as she looked over the Heroes that had pinned her profile. Her eyes widened as she looked looked over each Hero.
"Which ones did you get?" Katsuki asked as he saw her eyes widen.
"I got Hawks, Ryukyu, Eraserhead, and fucking All Might," Izuku whispered as she pushed the laptop over towards Katsuki.
"What?!" Katsuki exclaimed as he turned the laptop towards his face to see the screen. Izuku felt her heart pounding so hard in her chest that it felt as though it was trying to escape. She rubbed her eyes a few times just to make sure she hadn't misread anything, but from the look on Katsukis' face she indeed had not misread the information on her profile.
She buried her head in her pillows and screamed in disbelief before sitting back up to see Katsuki smirking at her. "You go to choose All Might," he said as he pushed her laptop back towards her, "If you don't who knows when you'll ever meet him."
"But Eraserhead," Izuku said as she closed her laptop so the faces of the Heroes that pinned her profile would stop looking at her.
"But All Might," Katsuki intoned, "Eraserhead works at UA. You can meet him and learn from him there. All Might doesn't work there! You won't have another time to meet him unless you take this opportunity that has literally landed in your lap."
Izuku let out a sigh as she flopped backwards. She couldn't make the decision herself and Katsuki did have a point with All Might. But what if Izuku did get All Mights' Approval? Is it going to be some kind of pissing contest when they get into UA to see who got the highest tiered Heros' Approval and who didn't? All eyes would be on her and she didn't know how she felt about that. But how could she choose? Who could she choose?
The man she looked up to all her childhood?
Or
The man that actually saved her as a child?
