Chapter 15

In the middle of the town square, crowds of people were running from flying debris. Bakugou, Todoroki and Misa arrived to assess the area when a large lighting strike split the sky. "Is this...a tornado?" Misa asked, shielding her eyes from the stabbing rain falling.

"No, it's that guy." Bakugou corrected her, pointing into the sky to see a man in the middle of the storm. "What do we do?"

"The guy looks powerful, and the more wind and rain he conjures up the more powerful he becomes." Todoroki guessed, knowing it would take a lot to take the guy down. "Misa? If I create an ice bridge tall enough, could you subdue him?" He asked the feline.

"Yes. I can quickly run up there and paralyze him with my toxin. What about the flying debris?"

"We can take care of that. Your Quirk is better suited for getting the villain down without causing a lot more damage."

"I have to disagree Icy Hot." Bakugou spoke up, his eyes not leaving the villain. "I should go instead of Misa. I can blast him down quicker than Misa can get to him." Misa growled next to Bakugou, but before she could argue, he spoke again. "You can help get these people to safety and protect against the debris." He told her, his eyes burning into hers. Misa hissed to herself but relented.

"Fine. Be careful." She growled, lighting her hands with fire while Todoroki built the ice bridge for Bakugou to get to the villain.

"Everything okay between you two?" Todoroki asked Misa while Bakugou tore up the bridge.

"Just peachy." She answered him, deflecting pieces of rubble from the escaping crowds. Shards of glass and concrete flew by her, cutting into her face and arms when she heard people behind her. Red Riot and Deku appeared from behind the pair; Red Riot already hardened against the debris.

"Hey guys! Need some help?" They asked over the roaring winds and rainstorm. "We helped some people back there and saw you guys."

"Are people safe? We still have a few people around here." Todoroki asked loudly, seeing the surrounding area becoming empty except for a handful of people. The storm roared on making it almost impossible to hear.

"Yes! Ururavity gathered people away from is Kachaan doing?" Deku asked, seeing the bursts of fire in the sky.

"Not taking the guy down as quickly as he said he would." Misa said to herself, but Red Riot heard her. She winced against the pain of glass cutting her cheeks as the wind blew harder. "I'm going to help!" She told the men, leaving the heroes to deflect the debris and help the struggling people to safety.

"Wait! Shira!" Deku called out to her, but she ignored the hero. Buildings crumbled around the heroes as the winds got stronger, making Deku focus on the tumbling debris. Misa struggled against the prevailing winds up the ice bridge, but she knew Bakugou was struggling against the villain. She could hear him cursing through the wind and rain until she got close enough to jump on the villain.

"Shira? What are you doing here?!" Bakugou yelled, deflecting the villain's attacks.

"You took too long." Bakugou could see blood trickling down her face as Misa grasped onto the villain's back, digging her nails into the shoulder blades. "I've had about enough of this weather. Now stop voluntarily or I will make you."

"No one can stop me, kitty cat. No one can take down The WeatherMan." The villain cackled, gaining more velocity in his wind. Misa struggled to hang on as Bakugou blasted shots around the villain to gain his focus.

"You deserve jail just for that name." Misa seethed as her nails dug into The Weather Man as he swung her around. Misa's claws lit up as fire burned through the Weather Man's clothing, eliciting a scream of pain from him.

"It's over, just give up!" Bakugou yelled, clipping the villain on his ribs with a blast. "You're out of options!"

"Am I? Is it true Shira, that cats land on their feet?" The Weather Man asked the hero. However, Misa released the toxin to paralyze the villain before she registered the question. "Let's test that theory." He snarled, pulling higher into the sky with Misa on his back. Bakugou lunged for her, but the villain counterattacked with a strong wind barrier, knocking Bakugou back to the ice bridge. "I hope that killed him." Misa stared down at the motionless body of Bakugou, willing him to show some sign of life.

"Please..wake up." Misa thought to herself as Bakugou became smaller the higher she was pulled. She barely saw Bakugou's body move slowly at first until his senses came back. "Oh thank god." The rain and wind were the strongest they'd been during the battle and Misa was losing sight of Bakugou through the storm.

"Now kitty cat. I think it's time for you to join your partner." The Weather Man cackled at Misa. "I told you...no one can…" He started before his speech became slurred. The paralysis was beginning to take effect. However, they were too high up for it to be a good thing.

"Shit." Misa cursed, feeling The Weather Man begin to lose his strength as they began falling. "This is really bad timing."

"Shira! Let him go!" She heard a voice through the dying storm. The rain was still powerful so she couldn't see where the voice was coming from. "Let him go! I've got you!" The voice sounded again. Debating on absolute death or trusting the voice, Misa retracted her claws and jumped off of The Weather Man, watching the body fall faster to the ground. A flash of green erupted from a tower of ice as Deku caught the villain before any damage was done to him. However, Misa was still free falling before she felt a hard body catch her, a wave of nitroglycerin filling her nostrils. She opened her eyes to see a cut and bruised Bakugou holding her tightly, his eyes hard with worry.

"Katsuki?" Misa asked, trying to confirm that her mind wasn't playing tricks on her. His grip tightened on Misa as he directed them back to the ice tower.

The pair joined their team on the ground, the sky opening to a clear blue and the rain subsiding. "Good job guys! That free fall was intense!" Red Riot commented, looking between Bakugou and Misa, who said nothing.

"Great teamwork!" Deku cheered, handing the villain off to the police while Todoroki was melting his ice tower and bridge. "Feels like high school again." He smiled, high fiving Misa and Bakugou. Misa remained silent, unsure of looking at Bakugou. She should say 'thank you' for saving her. But something was stopping her.

"This will be a pain in the ass to report." Todoroki groaned, looking around at the debris and flood. "At least no one was hurt."

"Yeah. No thanks to Shira." Bakugou growled finally. Misa snapped her attention to her partner for his comment, her eyes burning into him.

"Excuse me?" She challenged him, but he brushed her off and blasted away. "That...arrogant son of a bitch." Misa cursed, running after him, leaving Deku, Todoroki and Red Riot gaping.

"So is that bet still on for them getting together? Because, I'd like to retract my bet." Deku mumbled. Todoroki groaned and shook his head while watching his heroes run.

"Hey! Come back here!" Misa called after Bakugou. The explosion hero was ahead of her by a few meters, but Misa shot off a fireball to get his attention, grazing his ribs.

"What the hell?" Bakugou yelled, returning back to the ground. Misa stalked up to him angrily and pushed him.

"What the hell is up with you? 'No thanks to Shira?' What the hell was that?" Misa asked, seeing Bakugou's temper rising. "I did not deserve that."

"I had to save you. If you had just done what you were told to do, you wouldn't have gone skydiving." Bakugou told her.

"I should have been up there in the first place! My paralysis did work! I knew it would but it worked too late because you took your sweet ass time taking the guy out!"

"Yeah, I should have taken him down sooner; I didn't think he'd be so strong." Bakugou admitted, rubbing his neck roughly. "But that doesn't take away from the fact that you needed rescuing!"

"So what?! Heroes rescue heroes all the time! I've rescued you before. Do not make me feel bad for rescuing me just because you're hiding your true feelings!"

"True feelings?" Bakugou challenged her, his heart racing. Misa nodded quickly, crossing her arms over her chest.

"You were just scared that I was going to get hurt. GET OVER THAT! I am the number four hero and if we are to work together then you need to be okay with the fact that I may get hurt."

"You think I don't know that? I was trying to protect you before! That's why I went up there instead of you!" He yelled at her, seeing the defiance in her eyes before she screamed back.

"Stop trying to protect me! I'm not made of glass and I sure as hell am not yours to protect!"

"Yeah, you made that perfectly clear." He spat back. Misa paled at his comment, taking a few steps back. Bakugou knew he crossed a line from the diminishing fire in Misa's eyes, a cloud of hurt replacing the flames.

"Wow. You are so confusing. Fucking make up your mind. Stop toying with me!" Misa spat back, turning on her heel to leave. However, Bakugou grabbed her arm hard, turning her back to him.

"I'm sorry…" Misa snatched her arm out of his grasp before he could say anymore.

"I really thought you had changed. But you're still hot-headed." She whispered, leaving Bakugou in the alley. His heart ached as he watched Misa run away, leaping between the buildings to further the distance. His fists clenched as he punched the wall in frustration.

"Jesus, Katsuki. You really are an ass."
