A triple drabble (exactly 300 words) written for my friend, Ultra, for Round 2 of the Multifandom Drabble Exchange

The 'Soft Kitty' Probability Factor

"Soft kitty, warm kitty…"

Penny crooned Sheldon's favorite song as she stroked his hair.

He wasn't exactly sick, but she had tucked him into bed when they returned from his routine dental procedure. After all, he was still loopy from the sedation the dentist insisted upon – especially after Sheldon repeatedly questioned the man's qualifications and techniques.

In fact, Penny hadn't been surprised when a drugged Sheldon stumbled out of the patient area. It frequently happened whenever she drove him to one of his appointments...which was always…mainly because the other guys refused to do it.

"Little ball of fur…"

Penny didn't really mind, though. Granted, Sheldon could be difficult at times, but she no longer took offense at his bluntness. She had learned that it was just his way to speak the truth as he saw it.

In fact, oddly enough, Sheldon had become her best friend in Pasadena. In his own way, he never failed to help her when she really needed it - whether it was making her recognize her self-destructive habits when it came to alcohol and men, lending her money for overdue bills, or rushing to her aid when she fell in the shower.

Consequently, she didn't mind returning the favor and driving him places...or going all junior rodeo on someone for him when the need arose.

"Happy kitty, sleepy kitty…"

Penny smiled down at the man who had apparently fallen asleep under her ministrations before she moved gently to leave the bed. However, a hand unexpectedly shot out and grabbed hers before she could.

"Ssstay!" Sheldon requested groggily.

Penny knew the probability factor was high that he would feel uncomfortable about the situation when he woke and was himself again. Nevertheless, she snuggled up happily beside him in his bed, anyway.

"Purr, purr, purr."
