Chapter 15: Whenever I Am Feeling Disappointed
As the Senshi entered Rei's room in the Hikawa Shrine, they were surprised to see the three Outer Senshi already there.
"The enemy's base is in Mugen Gakuen." Setsuna started.
"There's been rumors about that school being cursed, and lately there were reports of students fainting in class for no apparent reason or feeling over-stressed." Haruka added.
"We knew the base was there from the beginning, but we also knew we didn't stand a chance against the Witches." Michiru admitted.
"Now that we're all here, and since several of them died, I think we would be able to go there and finish them off." Makoto suggested. "Don't you agree?"
"Not really." Michiru frowned. "There's Tellu and another witch to take care of, and that's not counting the twins. You guys weren't able to defeat the twins alone. I had a dream about the Messiah of Light." she explained, "And also the Messiah of Silence."
"The one of Light is Ami." Rei stated. " But who's the other one?"
"Sailor Moon." Haruka said.
"But, she's not evil." Ami pointed out.
"The Messiah is not a person, but a power." Haruka reminded. "The powers of light were given to you by the Talismans. As to why they captured Usagi, they intend to take advantage of the darkness in her heart to make her a perfect host for the Messiah of Silence's powers. And like in your case, her powers will be greatly increased."
"So we have to fight her?" Ami was worried.
"They will try and get your power." Michiru spoke. "The power of one Messiah is not enough for their plans."
"You know what their plans are?" Rei frowned.
"No. But we know the end result. If they win, the world will be destroyed," Michiru said.
Elsewhere...
Tellu sat on a wooden chair inside the Witches' base. Another woman sat right besides her. She had cyan hair and blue eyes, and was wearing a cyan form-fitting leotard. Her outfit was completed by a weird-looking, blue cap-like hat.
"Wonder what's taking them so long?" the woman asked impatiently.
Cyprine and Ptilol materialized in front of them and Tellu and the other woman stood up. "Tellu, Viluy..."
"... we present our newest warrior."
The twins stepped back, and Moon materialized in front of them. Her hair and eyes had gone pitch black, and she had demon-like black wings.
"Moon," Cyprine said.
"The Messiah of Silence." Ptilol added.
"She will go and..."
"... get Mercury's power..."
"... so we can bring our..."
"... Master to this world and..."
"... destroy it."
Moon chuckled evilly. "I'm eager to show the Senshi my new power."
"Go." Cyprine instructed. Moon nodded and vanished.
"How did you turn her to our side?" Tellu was surprised.
"We fused her with..."
"...our best Daimon. Not even the almighty Ginzuishou can fight against the darkness in its mistress' heart."
Moon grinned as she admired the destruction she'd caused. The street in front of her was cracked, and one of the nearby buildings had been turned into brick dust. There was something bothering her, tough. She had allowed the humans in that building escape before destroying it. That meant her human part was not completely under control yet.
"Sparkling Wide Pressure!"
Moon was hit dead on by the attack, but did not even flinch. She turned around and looked down at the Senshi. "I see... The real battle begins now."
"Moon, please don't do this." Mercury pleaded "You're not evil."
Moon laughed. "Poor ice Senshi. Your friend is gone. I'm just borrowing this body until my master's plans are complete."
"There we go again." Mars muttered.
"Moon, fight it." Venus implored. "I know you can."
"No, she can't." Moon snarled and threw the energy ball she was holding at them. The Senshi were all knocked away by the explosion.
"And that is why I prefer to first beat them to a pulp and then talk. " Jupiter muttered, staggering up.
"Get out of my sight, weakling." Moon ordered, suddenly interrupted by Tuxedo Kamen's thrown rose.
"You won't hurt me, Usako, and you know it." the masked hero was certain.
"Like hell I won't!" Moon snapped and started gathering energy again.
"Usako, I won't attack you." Tuxedo Kamen sighed. "I'd never hurt you."
"Too bad I don't have such handicaps." Moon smirked. However, she didn't shot the energy ball at him.
"I love you, Usako." Tuxedo Kamen approached the former blond and offered a red rose to her.
"Heh... stupid human..." Moon mocked. "What?" she flinched and the energy ball vanished. Her hair turned blond again and she looked at Tuxedo Kamen. "Mamo-chan..."
"Usako?" Tuxedo Kamen gasped in worry.
"I... can't fight it." the possessed Senshi shook her head.
"Fight it, Usako!"
"She..."
"... can't."
Tuxedo Kamen looked at the two twins standing beside Moon. They snapped their fingers in unison and the Moon Senshi vanished. "We didn't think..."
"... you'd be able to help..."
"... her human side take over. That's..."
"... too bad, now we'll have to..."
"... kill you."
"Chronos Typhoon!"
The twins screamed in pain as the energy vortex wrapped around them. Pluto walked out from the shadows smiling coldly. "I cannot kill you, but I can still stop you from killing anyone." She turned to the Senshi. "I cannot help you any further. You must win this battle. "
Venus nodded, "We can do it."
Cyprine looked at them and smirked, "Amazing. We thought Sailor Pluto wouldn't get involved."
"I only do when I need to." Pluto responded. "But the other Senshi can destroy you. It would only take a couple of them to do it."
"Then we will have to destroy them first," Cyprine said.
"Did you notice?" Mercury turned to Venus.
" Only one of them is doing the talking now." the Senshi Leader noted.
Jupiter frowned, "I'm tired of this. Let's beat them here and now!"
"Burning Mandala!"
"Frozen Rage!"
"Sparkling Wide Pressure!"
"Venus Love-Me Chain!"
The twins grinned evilly and swung their staves at the incoming attacks. But as soon as Mars' attack was absorbed, their staves started crackling with energy. When the rest of the attacks hit the staves, the energy backlashed and zapped the twins, knocking them both back a hundred meters.
"How did..."
"... they do that?"
The twins tried to stand up, but fell on their knees. The Senshi started walking towards them.
"This is not..."
"... over yet. Next time..."
"... we will defeat you."
Cyprine and Ptilol were now talking to the two remaining witches. "Tellu, Viluy, the Senshi..."
"... are tired from our last battle. Go..."
"... and get the heart crystals from the youngest two DigiDestined."
"What good will that do?" Tellu asked.
"If you get them, we can..."
"... give Moon more power. And then..."
"... the Senshi, and this world, will be doomed."
Later, after the fight...
"You are distracted." Yamato stated flatly, looking up from his electric guitar and pausing in his practice.
"Sorry." Ami sighed, erasing another misaligned note from her music manuscript. "It's just..."
"You're worried about Usagi." Yamato guessed. Removing his guitar from his body, he rummaged about his cupboard and pulled out the silver harmonica. Wiping the instrument with a cloth, he started playing.
Ami shut her eyes as the familiar song flowed flawlessly into her ears, washing away the disappointment of being unable to save one of her best friends from evil.
"Good night, Yuki-hime." Yamato whispered, pulling a spare blanket over Ami's body when he heard her soft snores, indicating that she had fallen asleep on the sofa.
