Chapter 13: Three People, Three Ways! Where the Light Leads!
After everyone reunited...
"The Pillar of Light..." Lina started, the reunited group were on board a ship.
"The color's changed, but it definitely looks like the systems there are still working." Amelia noted.
"'Dragon's blood shall be spread,'" Filia recited. "'And following the power between light and darkness, a single star shall be awakened.' The prophecy must mean that to save the world from Darkstar."
"You people." the ship captain barked. "You look like you want me to throw you all into the sea." he put the group to work.
On shore afterwards...
"I can't believe we're forced to come back here." Lina remarked, the group was standing in front of Armace's spaceship.
"There's no other way to get to the Pillar of Light." Amelia reminded.
"It seems to be abandoned." Filia noted.
"Anyway, let's try to get to the room with that magical device." Zelgadis suggested.
Inside the spaceship...
"It was here, wasn't it?" Lina looked around. "This magical device transported us to the Pillar of Light before.
"Let's get going then." Zelgadis urged.
"I left my sword there, too, remember?" Gourry reminded.
"Let's go." Lina cheered.
"Problem." Aria spoke. "Does anyone know how to activate the teleportation device?"
Silence.
"That's what I thought." Aria nodded, sighing. "What in the world..." she breathed when Erulogos' locator bugs emerged from a light beam that shot from the teleportation device.
"Why are those things coming out now?" Amelia stammered.
"They're coming from the Pillar of Light." Lina realized.
Outside the spaceship...
"Those creatures are following the trail left by an intense energy burst." Filia noticed a larger horde of insects in the sky. "And it's coming from the Pillar of Light."
"Something important must be at the end of it." Lina frowned.
In town...
"What the..." Lina breathed in shock at the destruction.
"You think those creatures attacked them?" Amelia guessed.
"It looks that way." Filia noted. "We asked the villagers." she informed, arriving with Aria. "They said a swarm suddenly attacked them."
"Except, their target wasn't the people." Aria frowned.
"They must be agents of Darkstar, then." Amelia concluded.
"Either way, we can't ignore this." Zelgadis stated.
"Lina Inverse!" Jiras pushed off the insect attacking the house he was seeking refuge in after taking it out and huffed towards the group that had landed to ascertain any causalities.
"Jiras!" the group exclaimed.
"Jiras, thank goodness." Lina beamed. "You're alive."
"I can hear the sarcasm from here, Lina." Aria rolled her eyes.
"Never in a hundred years would I..." Jiras started.
"Gotta go, Jiras." Lina beat a hasty retreat. "You can handle the bugs here."
"You creatures are wrong." Amelia posed, the group arriving to the next town over. "I will not allow you to cause suffering to innocent people."
"Amelia, I don't think they understand you." Aria sweatdropped.
"What are those things trying to do?" Zelgadis frowned.
"Shall we take then all out at once?" Lina grinned. "Fireball!" she leapt down from the roof and shot out a fireball at one of the insects.
"Freeze Arrow!" Amelia's ice beam locked three insects in ice and allowing Filia to use her mace to destroy them.
"Ex-quip: Winged Dragon Guardian Armor!" Aria summoned one of her top-tiered water elemental armors. "Azure Dragon Tail!" her massive water tornado swept up the remaining insects.
"These things aren't made for fighting." Zelgadis concluded.
"That's..." Lina frowned when Erulogos appeared in front of them. "One of Armace's people."
"My name is Erulogos." the Overworlder introduced himself. "Are you the one who are killing my servants? You seem determined to oppose us."
"Why are you even doing this?" Amelia demanded.
"I get it." Lina realized. "They're looking for the fifth weapon."
"I don't know how much Armace may have told you, but take my advice, I'm not like Armace." Erulogos cautioned.
"You definitely don't seem like to type to be reasoned with." Lina agreed.
"If you understand that, then get lost." Erulogos ordered.
"Looks like we can only do hand-to-hand fighting." Zelgadis drew his sword.
Amelia attacked first, Erulogos dodging the kick to the face.
The Overworlder then fended off both Gourry and Zelgadis' blades. He easily landed on his feet, despite being tossed over the shoulder by Amelia. He then blasted Filia back before she could use her mace and charged up an energy ball.
"Water Dragon Slicing Tail!" Aria's crescent-shaped energy blast cut Erulogos' energy ball into half. "Just how powerful is he?" she was stunned by the sheer damage the aftershock caused.
"This is bad." Zelgadis cursed, seeing Erulogos powered up two energy balls. "He's through playing around."
"This is for the boss, Lina Inverse." Jiras entered the fray with his newly created explosive starter in hand. "And this is over Valgarv-sama, Overworlder. I'm going to blow all of you up. Now see how I fight." he connected the wicks together, setting off the rocket he had built beforehand. "Don't move, Lina Inverse." he trained his gun on the sorceress.
"For crying out loud, would you do something about that stubborn streak of yours?" Lina fumed.
"Lina-san." Amelia warned, seeing the incoming rocket.
"Why did Armace waste time with weaklings like you?" Erulogos prepared for finish off the group.
"Defense barriers now!" Zelgadis barked.
"Ragradia Sphere!" Aria drew on Ragradia's powers to erect a water barrier around the group.
"So, it wasn't the final weapon after all." Erulogos turned, spotting the Golden Dragon barrier pillar that had been revealed due to the blast. "But why did my searchers react to this?"
"He really went and did it." Lina coughed out the dust in her mouth.
"He built an explosive as powerful as a Dragon Slave." Zelgadis remarked. "Pretty impressive."
"Not the time, Zel." Aria sighed.
"What's that?" Lina spotted the revealed pillar underneath them.
"That symbol..." Aria frowned.
