-Nakagata-
"Hey… Why are you crying?"
"Firefly-Wake up."
Reina let out a groan as she could feel herself coming too. There had been the sounds of metal clanking as there had been a small flicker of that had been lit in the tunnel. She had soon come to realize she had still been in the very tunnel. Even the sound of a drip and sizzle had been clear in hear ear drums. Not to mention she had been using Dabi's lap as a pillow while she slept.
Soon enough, a familiar girl bearing magenta eyes with black hair and an aquamarine streak had looked over her, as she possessed a familiar warm smile.
"Hey there Rei-chan." The young woman-Nanami had said, "Have a good nap?"
"Hey Nanami-sa-" Reina started to say before she corrected herself, "-Neechan."
Nanami couldn't help but laugh softly, "It's okay Rei-chan. You can go at your own pace with that kind of stuff." She couldn't help but ruffle her hair, "This is kind of new to me too you know."
Reina only chuckled before she sat herself up and stretched. "Boy, do I feel refreshed."
"Heard from Kaiya we're almost at the end of this tunnel." Dabi said as he leaned back, "Didn't want them to send you back cause you overslept."
"I appreciate the concern." Reina said, noticing his sarcasm at the end of the sentence, though it couldn't help but chuckle.
"I'm just saying, not gonna be your pack mule all the time." Dabi said to her as he gave her a nudge.
She nearly jumped back as a drop of water almost landed on her finger; the moment it hit the metal railing she could hear a sizzle coming from it. Some of the other people she could hear groan only in annoyance while others had the same reaction she did.
"Ouch! Damn it!" She could hear a familiar voice say.
She looked over and noticed Wan had shaken out her finger while Riichi sat beside her as he had been using his Quirk to make an umbrella from his own shadow, as Valentine had been minding his own business as he was humming to himself while fixing up his nails.
"Did I ever mention how much I hate acid water?" Wan said, "Bad enough we got it that one year, on my birthday no less out here, but these leaky tunnels are gonna be the death of me!" She soon turned to Riichi, "Why can't you just make an umbrella for all of us Devilman?!"
"Do you want me to knock out while we're out there fighting for our lives?" Riichi asked as he gave her a look.
Wan only growled before she nearly shrieked again when she felt a burn. "I HATE ACID WATER!" Wan shouted.
"Hey, at least being in this tunnel is better then trying to take a boat there." Valentine said, "We would've melted away the second it gives out. Unless we had a platinum one, we would've been dead."
Reina soon looked above her head as she couldn't help but have a thought. "I'm still surprised-" She soon said, "-I've heard about an island in the middle of the ocean, but never one in a middle of a lake."
"It's to be expected." Jaeger said as he had been adjusting the scope on his gun, "It's said Nakagata was founded long before Quirks had emerged. The rainy season that was made out here created the entire lake that's just above our heads."
Reina couldn't help but have a look of awe as she sat forward a little. Jaeger couldn't help but chuckle softly at how she looked. Immediately she had a look of embarrassment, "So-sorry! It's just-" She started to say as she flailed her arms, "-Nakagata was just-It was-"
"I know, you don't have to explain." Jaeger replied with a smile, "If there's one thing that hasn't changed about you, it's how you love a good story."
"I still don't get it-" Wan soon said as she turned to a familiar young man with aura crystals, "-How in the hell does a town in the middle of a lake get acid water?"
"You have a whole bunch of chemicals, gasoline and trash that was never picked up to thank for that." Kiyo said, "If it weren't for this old train tunnel that runs to the station, we would've been left stranded. We were lucky to have found this tunnel a few months back."
"That sounds like a nightmare." Nira said as she had been sitting on the floor laying against King as he had been sleeping.
Wan nearly let out a screech again as she felt the acid water hit her hand again. "I don't like the look of this leaky tunnel!" She said.
"Seems like it'll give away any minute." Valentine said.
"Well, for your sake-" Jaeger said, "-You better hope it stays up. Otherwise we'll be trapped on a island with no supplies."
"Hey-" A familiar woman on the front of the cart had called out. Kaiya soon turned to them, "-We're approaching the station. Eyes forward-And be ready for anything."
"Yes ma'am!" The group said in a low voice.
"Begin breaking procedure." Kaiya told the man behind the wheel, "And prepare your night visors."
"Starting breaking procedure." The man said.
Just as they heard the train start to slow down everyone had gotten their night visors; all except Nira who had removed herself from King just as he had awoken. They had soon approached the station Reina could see through the night visor the station had been in shambles. Loose debris had been in the way as she could see as there had been another train just across from them; though it had been crushed as she could see an old stain and scars along the metal .
She couldn't help but wonder… How many lives were lost.
"Arms ready people-" Kaiya said, "-We're about to enter dangerous territory. I want a few of us stationed here to guard our way out. As for the rest of you, be on your guard. We still don't know how many Styx's are in this place, or what other horrors await us. Don't engage in a fight, unless you have to. No one dies today."
"Yes ma'am!" The group said.
"Let's get this done-" Kaiya said, "-Everyone take a section of the town, and keep your flares in case you need to signal for backup. Snipers protect your group."
Each of the group went to take a section as they were told by Kaiya. Though a few certain people had been the last few people as it seemed as though they were waiting on Reina.
"... Rei-chan." Nanami said, "Are you doing okay?"
Reina took a look around the station once more as she had a solemn look; she could feel a faint ring go off in her head, as she looked around, "... This place… This town… It's… Really where I was born… Wasn't it?"
Nanami soon had a solemn smile, "Yeah. I remember that day well. You were the smallest baby I've ever seen. If only you could see it when it was still alive."
"... Yeah." Reina said as she couldn't help but recall her nightmares-Her dreams, "... I bet it was beautiful."
"This is it kid-" Dabi soon told her, "-You sure you're ready to find out what happened?" Reina looked at him as she was a bit taken back by his tone, "I mean-" He continued, "-I can tell by the look on your face, you're fifty-fifty on all of this. I'm not telling you, you should go back… The choice is up to you."
"He's right, Pipsqueak." Wan said, "Are you really ready to do this?"
"No one's gonna fault you if you back out." Riichi said honestly.
"I personally wouldn't blame you if it's too much." Nira added.
Jaeger soon added, "Whatever choice you make-We'll support you Young Master."
Reina looked to the others, as she noticed the expressions as if she could tell what they were all thinking. King approached her side as he nudged her hand, as she started to scratch his ears.
"You're right-I'm not ready for this." Reina said as she surprised them a little, "But-Everything I did… Everything I'm risking… I feel like it would be for nothing if I don't do this at all." She soon had a warm yet reassuring smile, "I made it this far… Why would I stop now?"
Dabi soon placed his hand on her head as he ruffled her hair, "Then by all means-What are we waiting for Firefly?"
Reina only nodded at this before turning forward, as she readied her blade as the rest had readied themselves. "... Let's do this."
With that, the group soon moved with Kaiya out of the train station. Though neither of them seemed to notice a camera with a red light was watching them. It seemed as though it had followed them outside with the sound of the hum.

-Terrashield-
Izuku, Katsuki and Floyd, along with their pets, Yagi, Song and Penny had been closed behind Rizal as they had stepped out of the elevator which had been previously installed into the new base. The elevator had been hidden within a wall of vines, making it nearly impossible for anyone to spot it. As they had stepped outside they could see the sun had started to set over the horizon, creating a twilight sky overhead.
"So-" Katsuki said to Rizal, "-Where is this Tau guy?"
"Just ahead through the hedge." Rizal replied, before he told them calmly, "Remember-Don't let your guard down for a second around these two, and don't fall for any of their tricks."
"Don't worry Rizal-san-" Izuku said, "-We understand."
Floyd added as he put his hands behind his head, "We'll behave...Still I wish I could just chat alittle."
"You'll be fine. Let me do the talking." Rizal said, "And above all else-Don't provoke Tau."
"Why?" Katsuki asked, "Is there something wrong?"
"I don't know the full details-" He replied, "-But Kaiya told me he can use his Quirk to suck the life out of anything, or anyone. From what I understand, it was a forbidden technique among her family. He was the only one to break the rule"
The three teens widened their eyes in horror at this sort of thing. "Good God…" Izuku said, shocked.
"Lik-Like a vampire?" Floyd asked. "What is he? Kiva-No! Dio Brando?!"
"ENOUGH WITH YOUR STUPID REFERENCES INKHEAD!" Katsuki shouted as he hit his head hard.
Floyd shouted as he grabbed the neck of his shirt, "WHAT WAS THAT PISSHEAD?! I'LL KILL YOU! AND FURTHERMORE THERE'S ALWAYS TIME FOR A REFERENCE!"
"SAYS WHO?!"
"SAYS EVERYONE!"
"Guys! Not now!" Izuku told them as he quickly got in between them.
"I'm kind of regretting this decision already." Rizal thought in his head. They soon continued forward before they had approached the hedge. There they could see a man with lizard skin and a tail, wearing a somewhat ruined suit, alongside him had been that of an African American man with a scar and dreadlocks in the form of a buzzcut. However they had been taken back by a certain sight in particular.
His entire left arm looked to be made of a purple light of some kind as it seemed as though he had bared a set of claws. He looked to be sitting on a boulder, some of the grass looked to be that of brown; a set of colors seemed to have sink into his skin.
"You sure took your time…" The man on the rock spoke, "... I was beginning to think I would have to break in and drag you out myself."
"What the-" Floyd said. 'That's-!"
"Tau!" Katsuki said as he sneered.
Izuku looked at the arm as he couldn't help but look shocked, "... That arm-It's made from his Quirk?!" He thought, as he had a look of realization, "Collector told us-Reina-chan fought him and took a part of him in the process. The One For All-What exactly did it do to her?! How much of its power did it give her?!"
"So you're Tau Carter." Rizal soon spoke, "I was told you wanted to speak with me."
Tau said as he stood up and fixed up his shirt, "I did, I would have preferred if You came alone..but it seems like you brought in children.." he looked to Floyd in particular which made him flinch. "Now this is someone I wasn't expecting to see out here. Floyd Aihara...Nephew of the woman who I helped kill a long time ago."
Floyd gave a glare as he was about to get his Sumi Stroker style but Izuku held his hand as he only his head as if he';s telling him he's not worth it. Floyd nodded as his hands reverted to normal.
"I would've come alone-" Rizal said as he held Floyd back, "-But for the record I don't trust you when it comes to negotiating."
Tau only chuckled at this as he replied, "and you have every right to be."
"Let's get right to the point-" Rizal said, "-What do you want?"
"What else?" Tau said. "All I want-is Reina Nouki. In exchange, I won't harm anyone."
The teens froze up at this as they couldn't believe what it was he was suggesting; though it hadn't been long before Katsuki seemed to have possessed a cold sneer. "Reina Nouki….?" Rizal said before he shook it off, "No, sorry, never heard of anyone with that name before."
"Oh? Is that so?" Tau asked. "Surely you HAVE heard of her...She made top head newslines..or so i heard. You must have at least seen her-" The look on his face changed slightly as it seemed to have grown more cold, "-ESPECIALLY since my people tracked her to this place."
"I wish I could tell you about this girl-" Rizal said, "-But we've had so many people come through here, it's hard to keep track you know. Especially since most of these people don't use their real name."
"Really?" Tau asked before he looked at the boys, mainly Katsuki, as he noticed how he was looking at him. It was then he had got a sickening idea.
"Tell me…" He started to say, "... What will it take to bring her out?" He pointed his Aura hand at Katsuki as he said. "Should I paint the grounds with his blood? Or should I start with the Aihara and the little boy?"
Rizal soon stepped in front of Katsuki, "They're with me. They were seeking refuge from the sickos and weirdos that were out here. You understand."
"Oh?" Tau said, "That's not what I've been hearing from the rumors that were going around. What did they talk about again." It soon clicked in his head, "Ah yes-The ones about Hosu…"
Katsuki's glare seemed to have intensified as Izuku and Floyd had a look of worry.
"Funny." Tau said. "For the person who announced he was gonna be number one-you let a simple backstab attack stopped you and made Reina lash out. Some might say-You're as much at fault as Reina is."
Katsuki could only growl at this as his hand started to spark which made Izuku and Floyd jump. "Kaa-chan no!" Izuku whispered.
Floyd had added with a low voice, "I know how you feel, but we can't just attack recklessly!"
Tau soon continued, "I even hear that those people-Even called her the monster. That she's the one responsible for putting all those people in the hospital. I even heard her tell she killed one or two with the Quirk was born with. Now what would the sentence be? Execution? Fifty Years in prison? Or even better-Life in Tartus Prison?"
At that point-Katsuki had reached his breaking point. Before anyone could stop him, he used his Quirk to charge at Tau; he grabbed him back by the neck and pinned him to the ground. Spada had put a blade to his neck as he didn't seem phased. "Kaa-chan!" Izuku exclaimed.
"Don't you DARE talk about her like that-YOU WORTHLESS PIECE OF HUMAN GARBAGE." Katsuki said with fire in his eyes.
"Oh, I seem to have struck a nerve." Tau said with a smile.
"Don't say her name so casually, don't you dare talk like you know her you bastard." Katsuki threatened as his hands sparked.
"Or what?" Tau asked "Will you kill me? That seems to be your catchphrase these days."
To his own surprise he could feel his grip on his neck tightened slightly. "Don't you DARE assume crap about her-" Katsuki said, "-Or I'm gonna do something worse then kill you-You sick-TWISTED BASTARD!"
"Kaa-chan stop!" Izuku said as he pulled him off, "This isn't going to help anyone!"
Floyd added, "Yeah! He's not worth the energy!"
"Oh, speaking from experience, Aihara?" Tau asked as he recovered. "That Match from the UA festival tells me otherwise."
Floyd flinched at this as he looked to Tau before asking, "Say that again."
"Enough." Rizal said. "Look instead of provoking the teens-How about I give you my answer now? Even if I did know this Reina Nouki there is no way I would trade a life for another."
Tau had only clicked his tongue, as Spada would only chuckle. Finally it seemed as though it had been an eternity, Spada had finally spoken, "Funny-Because you're little friends here seem to know her better than you." The three teens flinched slightly at this as they each paled.
Spada looked at Katsuki in particular, "Now I remember where I've seen you-You're the boy in the Sports Festival. The one who was restrained to the podium like he was a beast. That's not very heroic, is it?"
"SHUT UP!" Katsuki shouted as his hands sparked, "YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT THE HELL YOU'RE TALKING!"
"Kaa-chan stop!" Izuku said as he held him back.
Tau only chuckled as he said with a smirk, "Looks like I was wrong about Reina in particular-" He soon stood as his arm sparked slightly, "-Monsters stay together after all."
At this, Katuski only saw red. He shook Izuku off before he charged at Tau again; At least that's how it would've been if Izuku hadn't recovered and activated his own Quirk.
"I SAID-WAIT!" Izuku shouted before he tackled Katsuki to the floor with incredible speed as a familiar green lightning emitted from his body. Tau's look changed slightly at this as he felt a familiar feeling. For a brief moment, he saw himself in front of a familiar girl with a set of rainbow eyes.
His glare seemed to have intensified at this while Spada had a curious look on his face.
"Just calm down Kaa-chan!" Izuku told Katsuki as he didn't even bother to fight him, "Please! We don't want to lose anyone!"
"Just think about Reina-chan!" Floyd said, "We didn't come this far for you to something stupid!"
"That power-" Tau said as he gave a leer which made them flinch. "Every night, I have that same nightmare about it...It's one of the reasons why my arm is like this." he grabbed the tree nearby with that hand; It took them back when the tree had disappeared into nothing more then dust.
"I know for a FACT-" He said as his eyes glowed slightly, "-That little bitch used a Quirk that wasn't her own to take away my arm. I've always found Mental Quirks to be the most tricky yet unique, which made it all the more thrilling for me." He soon stepped towards the teens as they each started to back up, "I didn't want to believe silly little rumors about the Phantom Witch herself using a Quirk that wasn't her own, since that would be considered cheating! That is until I saw it with my own eyes. What her wretched daughter did was something no one in the world would ever believe! And you have just only confirmed my own little theory on it boy-" Izuku seemed to have paled up slightly at this, as his own body shook, "-That Quirk you used is the same one she used to best me which makes you the original user. I don't know how you and the bitch achieved such a feat, but I figure if you're out of the picture-"
Izuku got himself ready as Tau's claws extended, as he looked ready to attack, "-Then she won't cheat when I face her again."
Much to Izuku's own shock Katsuki stood in front of him as his hands sparked. "Don't you even think about killing him, you sick bastard." Katsuki told him with a glare.
"Kaa-chan!" Izuku said shocked before Floyd soon stood in front of him as he readied his weapon.
"For someone who likes calling teens monsters-" Floyd added as his Sumi Stroker Style on his left appeared once more. "You seem to have experienced it yourself considering the actions you caused even in the present day, if Reina-chan and Katsuki are monsters to you-then that makes you a devil-right?"
Tau flinched as he soon glared at him with his hand glowing, "Watch your tongue-unless you wanna share the same fate as your aunt.."
"You're not killing Inkhead either." Katsuki said. "Only I get that job and no one esle!"
Tau growled as he said "You-"
"What's it gonna be, Tau?" Floyd said.
Tau soon fixed himself as he gave a glare as he soon thought of his answer. "You three are trying to be Heroes aren't you? So I wonder what's more important? The life of many or the life of one?"
Floyd said with a smirk, "What do YOU think?"
"Twenty four hours." Tau said, which made Floyd pale up and his jaw dropped, "Tell the child of the witch I'm giving her twenty four hours to give herself up. If she's not on the other side of the fence by sunrise tomorrow, I will kill EVERYONE. Starting with the one that protects her from the Followers of Stain and of course-My sister in law Kaiya. I'll make her watch. If she accepts her fate-Then I will let everyone live." Tau only smirked as Floyd had been in the process of-Well, processing the current information, "Who's the Devil now-Aihara? See you at sunrise."
With that Tau and Spada went to take their leave as Katsuki, Izuku, and Floyd had been especially shocked by what had just occurred.
"What part of 'don't provoke Tau' did you not understand?" Rizal asked Floyd in particular.
"O-o-Oh R-right...S-Sorry.." Floyd said as his body shook.
"Sorry?" Katsuki said, before he shouted, "SORRY!? YOU JUST SIGNED A DEATH WARRANT FOR MY GIRLFRIEND! WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING!?"
Floyd shouted as he flailed his arms, "I-I KNOW THAT! I WASN'T THINKING!"
"YOU DAMN RIGHT YOU WEREN'T THINKING MORON!" Katsuki barked as he took his shirt and started shaking him. "SERIOUSLY, WHAT GOES ON IN THAT BRAIN OF YOURS!? YOU KNOW THE SECOND SHE HEARS THE DEMANDS, SHE'S GOING TO CAVE, BECAUSE SHE'S TOO DAMN SELFLESS FOR HER OWN GOOD!"
Floyd replied as he had gotten him to stop shaking him, "I know! I know! Maybe the thing he said about my Aunt Penny got to me. And THAT might've clouded my better thinking?"
"NO SHIT SHERLOCK!" He shouted which made Floyd shrink, " I DIDN'T COME ALL THIS WAY FOR ME TO LET HER WALK TO HER OWN EXECUTION!"
Floyd said as his voice shook a little, "Y-Yeah."
"We can't let this happen!" Izuku said, "What do we do?!"
"Don't worry-" Rizal said, "-This is exactly the kind of thing we planned for." Izuku, Katsuki and Floyd looked confused as Rizal had taken out a walkie talkie. He soon pressed a button as the light had turned green, "Shiki-Plan BETA is a go. Have Crawler and Pop-Step secured an evacuation route?"
"Yeah-" Shiki replied over the walkie, "-We're gonna start prepping. We should be ready to move out by nightfall."
"Got it, we're coming back." Rizal said before he turned off the walkie.
"Plan BETA?" Izuku said, "What's Plan BETA?"
"It's one of Kaiya's back up plans she made after we found this place." Rizal replied as he set the walkie on his belt, "In the event this place becomes compromised to an attack, we move the people staying here to a secondary location that isn't far from where we are." The teens looked a bit shocked by this sort of thing, "You didn't think we would come here without a backup plan did you?"
Floyd could only look shocked at this before he asked. "How does Reina know you guys?"
"You have Kaiya to thank for that." Rizal said, "Come on, we should help with the evacuation."
"Wait!" Izuku soon said to Rizal, "What about Reina-chan and the others!? We have to warn them about where you're going!"
"I am aware of that." Rizal said.
"So then call them!" Katsuki told him, "You can do that can't you?!"
"That's the issue-" He soon said which had shocked him, "-The last raid Kaiya went on, the communications were destroyed. The radio tower in Nakagata was destroyed. But don't worry, I'll send word to them as soon as we confirm the evacuation route is secured."
"Are you serious right now?!" Katsuki exclaimed.
"Look, I know you're worried about her, but right now the people's safety is our top priority. By any means necessary, we need to make sure everyone in this place is safe. I promise you-We will send word for them."
"But Reina-chan-" Izuku said, "-We're so close to her now!"
"Come on now-" Rizal said as he gave Izuku a comforting pat, "-Let's go help with the evacuation."
FLoyd only sighed as he said, "Let's hope to god it works."
"Trust me, it will." Rizal reassured, "Just try to be more careful about what you say next time."
Floyd only laughed sheepishly at this, "noted."
Izuku and Katsuki had been appalled by Floyd as they saw him walk away. "Floyd-san wait!" Izuku said, "I know saving people is important, but so is saving the people out there in Nakagata right now!"
"I know that but-" Floyd said, "-I'd rather not cause anymore problems." His expression soon changed, "Sorry, Izu, Piss Head, but I came here to save my best friend, not to be another potential cause of her death. I've already done that with my aunt.."
"Floyd-san you-" Izuku started to say before-
BOOM!
The sound of Katsuki's Quirk had startled them as Floyd had noticed the glare he had on his face. Floyd at that moment didn't know if he should be scared of him, or-Just shocked by the look he had on his face.
"What the hell is wrong with you?!" He said, "What the hell happened to the guy that likes to put himself in the line of fire just because he felt like it!? What the hell happened to the guy that has competed with me in EVERYTHING since middle school-Including Reina?" He soon lost his glare as he had a look of disappointment, "... Looks like this whole time I was wrong about you. You're just the guy that runs the second something bad happens. You couldn't even face your own family after you found out what happened to your Aunt Penny. You're just a coward."
Floyd had a look of shock as his jaw dropped, "Katsuki I-" He tried to say though Katsuki had stopped him.
"Like it or not, I'm going to see her." He said, "With or without you."
"Bakugou wa-!" Rizal started to say. But before he could stop him, Katsuki activated his quirk as he had flown in a certain direction which nearly blew them off of their feet.
Floyd could only click his tongue before he turned his head away, as he said in a harsh tone, "Really know how to rub it in, huh? Damn Piss for Brains.."
"Floyd-san…" Izuku soon said as he had a solemn look, "... You know Reina-chan is important to us, and you know how much she means to him. But-This isn't just about one person. It's not even about any of us. Reina-chan has always been the sister I never had, and… Whether the world sees her as a monster, she's always going to be that way to me. As her best friend-No-As her family-I WON'T let her do something like this alone anymore."
Floyd had been shocked by his words as he noticed that the look on Izuku's face had said nothing-But hope. "She made me a promise to protect me-And she saw through to that, even back before-" Izuku started to say before he stopped himself as he took one look at Rizal, "-It's time… I saw through to my end of the bargain. Whether she wants to see me or not. Because-That's what I'm doing as a Hero… And as her family." He soon gave him a smile, "Just let the others know-And have them meet us at the entrance if they can."
With that said Izukku's body sparked before he took off after Katsuki leaving a VERY shocked Floyd behind.
"W-Wha-?" Floyd asked.
"Huh, Today's youth are something else..." Rizal said, amazed, "Though either way, the choice is up to you. That's what Jaeger tells Kaiya and I at least."
"... Jaeger?" Floyd said, "Who's Jaeger?"
"He's a personal friend of the Pro Hero Hermes." He replied, "Though-It seems like he knows Nouki-san, since she doesn't mind that he's been calling her Young Master."
Floyd's eyes widened in realization as it seemed to have clicked where he heard the term. Rizal hadn't been surprised as he ran on ahead as he exclaimed, "I'll be right back!"
Rizal only had a smile before he started to walk in the direction where the entrance had been, "Seems like he'll make the right choice."
-Nakagata-
A few hours had passed since they entered Nakagata, and everything had seemed very quiet. Too disturbingly quiet for Reina's liking. Though she could only assume, that's what came with being in an actual Ghost Town. Every hour or so, they would stop to take breaks after exploring a certain area before moving on.
She had to admit, the town had been a lot bigger then what her dreams made it out to be.
She had trouble letting it all sink in… That this place was once her home. She couldn't help but wonder… What would life be like if Nakagata was still full of life?
Well, she supposed she had gotten her experience, though… Everything had been scattered about in parts of her mind. Everytime she thought about it-It just made her head throb. Here they were, taking another break as the sun started to set over the horizon. They had been taking shelter in an old convenient store as she had been looking over the horizon. Trying to imagine the buildings, imagine the people that used to live in the once lively town.
As she tried-She could hear that familiar ring, and vaguely see the buildings filled with people, though she could the headache had gotten worse-Though she had to admit… It wasn't just the headache bothering her.
She had been sitting on what used to be a bench, as she heaved a sigh as King soon sat beside her, resting his
"... Even though my Quirk turned off… I can still feel its effects." She said to the wolfdog, "... It's been bothering me a lot since we got here. Not even that pain killer I took is helping. And if that weren't enough-Since Izuku-kun appeared… I can feel him, just on the other side of that train tunnel. I'm glad he's still alive but… It's not making my headache any better."
King only let out a huff before he climbed up on the bench. He started to lick her head along the bandages as she couldn't help but chuckle. "Thanks for trying buddy-" She said as gave him a pat on the head, "-But, this isn't the kind of thing than be cured with kisses." She let out a groan again as the ring seemed to have intensified, "... Ow. This must be what hangovers feel like for Shota."
"It's not as bad as syniuses."
Reina flinched slightly at a familiar voice, just beside her. She turned to her left as she saw a familiar young man with ash blonde hair, wearing a UA uniform.
"Reina…" She heard him say, "... Deku is just on the other side. It's not too late for you to turn this around."
"Please-" Reina said to him, "-Even if you're just something I made, don't try to tell me to back out. I've already made it this far-I can't stop here."
"... I know." He told her, "But you remember the promise he made with you. Like how you're supposed to protect him… He's gonna protect you."
Reina didn't say nothing as she turned away from him. She let out a soft gasp as she felt his arms around her; even though he wasn't the real one… She could still feel that same warmth… That same feeling that made her safe.
"You can just talk to Deku, and you'll see." He said to her, "He wants to help you with this. You and I both know you can't do this alone."
"The others are here with me."
"I know-But you know that's not what I meant."
She couldn't help but place her hand on his arm; even though he hadn't been real, she felt the soft texture of his blazer along the palm of her hand. "Reina-" He heard her say, "Deku-Even though he doesn't say it out loud, he loves you so much. He just doesn't want to see you get hurt like how you hate to see him hurt. Just please… If he does end up finding you-Just give him a chance to hear him out."
Reina only sighed at this as her look softened, "... I don't know if I'll be able to face him for real…. Let alone you…"
"Hey pipsqueak?"
Reina jumped slightly at the sound of Wan's voice; the moment she blinked, Katsuki was gone like he usually was. "What is it?" Reina asked as she regained her composure.
"You better get in here-" Wan said, "-We're discussing the next set of locations we gotta look around."
Reina only nodded before she followed Wan inside; the rest of the group had been gathered around as they had been looking over the map they were given before they entered the once lively town; some of the more key locations had already been marked with X's.
"Is everything okay?" Reina asked the group.
"I wish it was-" Kiyo said, dejected, "-There's nothing but bad news."
"Every place we've searched turned up empty." Jaeger said, "Damn it all! At this rate we're chasing ghosts!"
Wan only clicked her tongue before she asked, "We should regroup."
"But there has to be other places we haven't looked yet." Riichi said,
"We already thought of it-" Nanami said, "-But my mind is still fuzzy from this place."
"You mean you can't remember?" Dabi asked her, "I thought other than the Firefly you said you grew up here."
"It's bits and pieces." Nanami replied, as she groaned a little, "I'll be honest, most of the memories that came back to me didn't exactly come back in the right order. Sometimes I'll remember one thing, and then the next day another." She chuckled softly, before she had a smile, "It's a nightmare."
"That's something a person wouldn't normally laugh about." Nira said.
"So do you think we should really regroup with the others?" Valentine asked as he had been polishing the sniper he had, "Ask Kaiya where we should start looking?"
"No-" Jager said, "-She's already searching the otherside of the town. And we don't want to waste our flares for something that's otherwise trivial."
"That and you guys still don't know what else could be out here." Dabi said.
"So what the hell are we supposed to do then?" Riichi said, "Because I'm not itching to wait back at the entrance."
"Maybe we can double check the areas and backtrack to the shrine." Nanami said as she looked over the map, "I know it's not much but maybe we missed something."
"It's a start, I guess." Nira said, "Wish I could feel the vibrations of machines right about now!"
Reina let out a sigh as she looked over the map. She couldn't help but think about what should be done about the situation. Should they turn back? Or risk signally for help just to let Kaiya know they're going to come up empty handed? What should we do, is what she thought on the conundrum.
Just as soon as she had this thought, she felt that familiar ring go off in her head. It had been so intense it made her groan. The group had been taken back when she had collapsed to her knees. "Reina!" Dabi said as he went to her side as she let out a cry.
"Pipsqueak!" Wan said, "What the hell's wrong with you now?!"
Reina couldn't answer as she fell on her side. Everything started to turn dark around her as it felt like her head had been coming apart as her name was being called once again.
"Rei-chan, don't cry."
Reina felt her eyes open as she saw she had been standing in the middle of the town; though she could see the people clearly walking past, she strangely couldn't see any of their faces. Not to mention most of their faces had been blurred; a static blur had blocked out their faces to be exact.
"Huh?"
She soon heard someone sniffling just next to her; when she turned to her side, she saw it had been herself but as a child once more; though she looked to be crying as she had been holding what looked to be a gaming system. Though the screen had been cracked.
She could see a hand placed on her own as she noticed the person that had been beside the child version of herself… Had been the same boy wearing that familiar red hat…. Her brother.
"It's okay-" Her brother said gently, "-It's okay."
"I'm really sorry-" She said, "-I didn't mean to drop it."
The boy gave her a hug, "There, there now it's alright. I know you didn't mean it. Besides, it'll be fixed right up in no time. You know how reliable Karou-jiisan is."
Reina watched as herself and her brother went towards a shop that had been between a clothing store and a bookstore. The store had read-
"Torchwood Center?" Reina read aloud.
She followed the kids inside the door, as she wasn't surprised that she passed through the door. When she stepped in, she saw the store had been filled to the brim with computers and even desktops of all kinds of models. There had even been phones, and gaming systems. Or what she considered up to date at the time really.
"An electronic store?"
They approached a man in his late forties, as he had been wearing casual clothing.
"Why hello-" She heard a man she assumed to be named, Kaoru said, "-If it isn't my two favorite customers."
"Hello Karou-jiisan." The boy and her child said.
"Shouldn't you kids be at school?" Karou asked.
"During the summer time?" The boy said with a laugh, "No way!"
She watched as Karou laughed, "What can I do you kids for?"
She watched as her child self sniffled before she set the game system on the counter, "I was playing onii-chan's game , but I ended up dropping it."
Reina watched as Karou examined the device as he made a couple of notes. "Oh don't worry about your pretty little head." He reassured her, "It's only a cracked screen. I'll have this fixed in no time."
"Really?" Her child self asked with a brightened smile.
"Of course-" He said, giving them each a pat on the head, "-I always have backups for my backups!"
"See Rei-chan?" The boy said, "What did I tell you?"
"Ye-Yeah, I'm so glad!" Her child self said.
Reina watched as Karou took the gaming system to the back; though when she saw the door open; she could see in clear view what looked to be desktops still boxed and looked to be brand new.
"Those-Look brand new." Reina said.
"That's because they are."
Reina jumped at the sound of a voice but when she turned to her side, she saw it had been someone very familiar. A certain young fair girl, wearing the very uniform from the school she had attended.
"Seven!" Reina said, relieved.
The young beautiful teen girl-Seven smiled a warm yet oddly familiar smile towards her. "Hello Reina." She greeted warmly, "It's very nice to see you again."
"It's-You-" Reina said, still stunned, "-What are you doing here?"
"I thought that was obvious." Seven replied, "I'm here to be your guide."
"My… Guide?"
It was then Reina realized something; the memory, everything from her child self to the birds and the people outside… Had stopped. All the colors had disappeared.
"Di-Did you do this?" Reina asked, shocked.
Seven only shook her head, "This isn't exactly my head, now is it?"
Reina soon looked to the door again, as she could see the desktops that were set up in the back. "It seems like he has what you're looking for." Seven said.
"It does-" Reina said as she looked around, "-This place… It seems like I used to come here, with my brother." As she looked around, she didn't realize the look on Seven's face changed slightly, "I came here a lot…" She looked at the man at the counter, "... I knew him."
The world around her had been filled with static as she could feel her head throbbing slightly. "The owner…" Reina said, "... He was my friend…"
"It's coming back to you…" Seven said as her smile returned, "... That's good."
"Why am I just remembering all of this now? Why am I being shown this?"
"Who knows? Maybe somewhere inside of you knows it's time for you to remember. Notice anything significant?"
Reina soon looked towards the storage room as she looked towards the storage room , looking closely at the storage area. "Karou-jiisan-" Reina said as she groaned, "-He-Always made sure whatever new shipment he had gotten, was secure… He didn't have to worry about the backups , because… He kept them safe, even if there was ever a fire…."
Reina looked surprised by this sort of thing, "Okay-Haven't felt this kind of feeling in a while."
"If he kept backups of backups-" Seven soon told her, "-Then there's a chance he hid the second back ups in his store so they wouldn't get stolen-"
Reina had a look of realization as it all seemed to have clicked, "-Like beneath the store itself! We'll be able to find a desktop in the hidden compartment!"
Seven only smiled as she nodded her head. Reina had only looked excited at this sort of thing. "I can't believe it!" Reina said, "That was-A hell of a lot easier then I thought!" The smile soon feel from her face as the static became a bit more aggressive, "... Almost too easy." She soon turned over to Seven, "Is… There another reason why you're here? The last time I saw you was when-"
"I know." Seven said to her as her gaze softened when she noticed Reina had been shaking. She took her hand as she didn't seem to realize the world around her started to fade, "You don't have to finish."
Reina soon possessed a fearful look, "... Is something bad going to happen...Is it?"
"I'm hoping that's not the case." Seven said, "But-One can never be too sure."
Reina could feel a sudden spark before she noticed the state of her hands; she jumped back at a familiar white spark as she jumped back.
"I know, I know." Seven said, as she took her hand, "It's okay, you're gonna be fine."
"Just-What's been happening to me?!" She said as she shook her hand out of her own, "First I used a Quirk that shouldn't even be mine when I fought Tau, my Quirk came back for a little a bit but was different-And now I saw someone, I love-Someone I care about that shouldn't even be here! Just-What's been-What-"
"Reina-" Seven soon said to her sternly as she took hold of her. For a moment Reina had seen a spark come from her as it mixed with the white sparks her body produced. She soon calmed down, as she took a deep breath, "-Listen to me. We don't have much time."
Reina noticed the change in her expression as she finally noticed around her, they had been standing in nothing more than a dark endless void… Or so she thought. She found that they had been standing on a stone path that seemed to have lead to nowhere, from in front of her, and behind.
"What…?" Reina said, just plain stunned.
"Reina-" Seven said as she turned her head towards her, "-Listen-The Quirk you used wasn't an accident. It was no accident when I appeared to you that day. It is very much like you thought it was."
"Do you know what's happening to me then?"
"I do… But this isn't the time to tell you. I promise, you will get that answer soon. It's just one step at a time. All you need to know is-This is something you shouldn't fear. Because this time you won't be fighting alone."
"Because you're my guardian angel?"
Seven only chuckled at this sort of thing as she finally let go of her hands. "Right-" She said with a smile, "-Now, normally we don't do this sort of thing, but if she can be an exception… Then you will be as well."
"... We?" Reina said a bit taken back by the term. It hadn't been long before she jumped at the sound of a new voice.
"So-You're really her?"
She looked over Seven's shoulder and saw it had been another young teen just the same age as she had been; Though this time, it had been a young man. He had on a school uniform, different then the one she had seen. The young man appeared to have short white hair, and even had silver white eyes as well. He had on a simple gray shirt and dark brown khakis and brown dress shoes.
"I've always known you're going to meet us one day-" He said, giving her a warm smile, "-Just didn't expect it to be so soon."
"That uniform-" Reina said, "-It's from the Ketsubutsu Academy. The same one Emi-san teaches." She soon stepped to the young man, "Are you-Someone I've met? Or are you just something else I imagined?"
The young teen laughed, "It's neither of those things. You'll learn my name-In time. But please-Call me Four."
"... Four?" Reina said, a bit shocked.
"You'll understand soon enough." Seven said,
Reina soon looked at the young man with curious eyes, "What… Are you doing here?"
Four soon stepped towards her; she didn't know why, but she ended up backing up from him slightly. "Well-" Four soon said, "-You didn't really think that Quirk you used then… Was the only thing you could use, did you?"
Reina had been taken back by this sort of thing before she noticed a familiar spark emit from his hand. For a brief moment she could see a familiar green haired boy fighting a boy with fire and ice.
"You're… Like him…?" Reina said, shocked, as she rolled"... You're like Izuku-kun and All Might-senpai… How….?"
"Don't worry-We'll tell you everything when the time is right." Seven said to her, giving her a reassuring pat, "But right now, there's something more dire at stake don't you think?"
Reina did know this all too well-Though it didn't change how she was feeling right now. All she could feel then was fear right now. Everything about this situation seemed to have terrified her. Even if she was in her own head right now-She could feel her chest tightened as she thought back to what occurred just a short time ago; she looked to her arm and leg that had been braced as she thought back to how they ended up this way.
It… Honestly terrified her. She could only imagine the kind of pain Izuku had gone through. Faintly… She could feel it too.
"Don't worry Reina-" She heard Four say, "-No matter what happens… Everything will be alright in the end."
He soon held his hand out towards her, as she noticed how his hand sparked slightly. She felt compelled to take it, like she did back then-But she hesitated in doing so.
"... If… You're like Izuku-kun-" She started to say, "-What's going to happen if I take your hand?"
"That's for you to find out." Four replied.
"The choice is yours, Reina." Seven said, "Do whatever you think is right."
Reina looked to his hand before she looked to her own. With slight hesitation she took his hand; the lighting that emitted from his hand mixed with the white sparks. She felt a familiar rush come over her as it felt as though her body had become a lit.
She couldn't help but let out a cry as for a moment, a set of images flashed through as it made the ring she had been so used to hearing, had been similar to that of an explosion.
All she could do at that moment was let out a scream.
"REINA! WAKE UP!"
Reina had awoken with a gasp at the sound of Dabi's voice, practically shouting in her ear. As her vision had been clear she could see everyone had worried looks on their faces. She could even feel King licking her cheek as to get her to come down back to her earth.
"Ay dios mio Reina-" Kiyo said relieved, "-Don't scare us like that!"
"Rei-chan, are you okay?" Nanami asked as she helped her to sit up.
Reina didn't answer as she just had a stunned look on her face. She had felt blood on her nose as she could hear the ring faintly go off in her head.
"Is everything okay?" Nira asked, "Your breathing is kind of uneasy."
"Pipsqueak?" Wan said, trying to get her attention.
"I know where it is." Reina soon said softly, "I know where we can find a desktop."
At this the group looked shocked at this sort of thing as some of them had to take a moment to process this information. "You know?!" Jaeger said, "Do you mean you remembered?!"
"A-A little." Reina replied, "Karou-jiisan, always said-He had backups for his backups. He-Kept the spares hidden in his store. I think he hid them beneath."
"Rei-chan-" Nanami said before her expression brightened. Reina had been taken back when she had hugged her, "-I knew you'd remember something!"
"Karou-" Jaeger said, "-Of course. He was always reliable when it came to machines."
"Who in the hell are you talking about here?" Valentine asked.
"He was once a resident of Nakagata, before it became a Ghost Town." Jaeger replied, "He was the town's handyman and took care of machines."
"His motto was I have backups for my backups!" Nanami said, "I can't believe we didn't think of this before!"
"Well, why didn't you guys think to look at his store?" Nira asked.
"It was crossed off the map because it was destroyed when the Tragedy happened." Nanami replied as her look softened, "We didn't think there would be any desktops left." She soon had a smile on her face, "But now that Rei-chan's remembered something, I'm sure we'll be able to find something there!"
"This is great!" Kiyo said, "This means we're one step closer to saving everyone!"
"Don't get too excited." Jaeger said, "There's still the Styx we have to worry about, don't forget. We need to tread carefully."
"He's right-" Riichi said, "-I ain't looking to tangle with those things again after last time."
"If we're lucky we won't have to." Nanami said, "Let's go!"
The group started to gather their things as Reina took a moment to recollect herself when she felt her head throb again. Dabi went to her side as he started to massage her back. "You sure you're doing okay Firefly?" He asked.
"I'll be alright…" She replied, "... I just… Need a minute." She let out a groan, "It feels like it's going to explode…"
"Try and take it easy." Dabi told her, "It'll be embarrassing if you died from one little headache."
Reina couldn't help but softly chuckle at this, "And here I was beginning to think you didn't have a sense of humor. You shouldn't worry about me like that."
"I'd worry more about you're-" Dabi started to say before he looked surprised, "-Hair."
Reina looked confused by this, "Cut me some slack I just had a little episode-"
"No, no-" Dabi told her, "-I mean your hair just turned white."
Reina still didn't quite understand until she noticed it for herself. She noticed that her bangs had turned into a familiar silver white streak which made her jump back. "The hell-?!" Reina said, surprised.
"That's what happened with Tau." Dabi pointed out, as he examined it himself, "When your Quirk, or whatever that was turned on, your hair changed into that color."
She couldn't help but have a look of worry as she had been trying to process everything, "Okay-That's never happened before, even when I used my Quirk."
"Then-Does that mean you'll be able to use whatever you used to beat him now?"
"I-I don't know…"
She looked to her hands as they shook; for a brief moment, she found herself standing in the darkened pathway again as she felt her arm and leg burn slightly. "Come on-" Reina said to Dabi after she shook herself, "-We should help the others."
Dabi only remained silent before he went to go and do just that; though he didn't have it in his expression, he had been a touch bit concerned about this strange little development.
It didn't take Katsuki long to find the entrance to Nakagata; He thought for sure it would be more well hidden thanks to the trees and grass that had grown over construction, over the years. Though when he had arrived at the tunnel; he did find most of the tracks covered in tracks but the tunnel looked to have a rusted old fence that looked to be rusted. An old rusted sign had read, "DANGER: KEEP OUT."
He landed just in front of the tunnel as he looked it over.
"This is it huh?" Katsuki said.
"KAA-CHAN!"
Katsuki had been taken back when he noticed Izuku had been able to catch up with him; his body had sparked with green lighting as he ran towards him. Along with him of course had been his dog Song; Yagi had been riding in his backpack.
"Deku?!" Katsuki said, "What the hell!? Why did you follow me here?!"
"I thought it was obvious!" Izuku said as he landed by his side, "You can't go in there alone!"
"The hell I can't!" Katsuki argued, "Reina is right in front of us, and I'm going to see through that promise she and I made!"
"It's not going to help you if you get killed!" He argued, "You don't even know what could be in there!"
"It doesn't matter what's in there, it's not going to stop me!"
"But Kaa-chan-"
"I don't have time to argue with you! I'm going in there!"
Izuku couldn't help but huff, as he knew he just had to put his foot down; he definitely didn't want a repeat of what happened during the final exams. He stepped towards Katsuki as he took his hand, "If you're not going to wait then at least let me come with you! Don't forget-We said we'd save Reina-chan together! I didn't come out all this way so you could go at it alone. If Tau is really after her-Then we have to make sure she's alive so that she can listen to what we have to say!"
Katsuki could feel Izuku's hand shaking slightly, and he could tell from the look on his face, he looked as though he was ready to cry. "I-I just don't want it to be the last time…" He heard him whimper.
Katsuki couldn't find a retort then, nor could he even find a reason to yell. He just allowed his words to sink in, as he thought about it over and over in that moment. The scene had all been too familiar as for a moment he found himself back in middle school, like they had been dealing with the Black Knights once again.
He knew all too well what had to be done.
"Fine Deku." Katsuki said as Izuku looked shocked, "We'll go and save her-But don't get in my way."
Izuku's expression brightened as he couldn't help but smile, "I-I won't Kaa-chan! I promise!" He soon handed Katsuki the earbuds, "We should take these, so we can contact the others, to let them know we're safe!"
Katsuki didn't make any arguments as he only responded with the click of his tongue; he took an earbud from him before he set it in place. Song seemed happy about this sort of development as she let out a bark like she had been speaking to him. Katsuki soon gave her a pat on the head as he gave a smile.
"You should go with the others." He told her, "Keep the kids company."
Song seemed a little taken back before she whimpered.
"I don't know what's going to be in there mutt-" He told her, "-And, I'd rather not see you get hurt." His look softened as he gave her a scratch behind the ears, "Just go back with the others, and make sure everyone's safe. And when I get back-Reina's gonna want to meet you."
"You should go back to Yagi." Izuku said as he had gotten the beagle out of his bag, "I'll feel a lot better if you kept everyone else company while they're evacuating."
Yagi gave Izuku a lick as it couldn't help but make him smile, before he set him on the ground. Song and Yagi soon started to make their way towards the entrance to TerraSheild leaving the both of them alone.
With a deep breath, and as they looked to one another before exchanging in a nod, they had gone inside the old train tunnel as night began to fall.
"Reina-" Katsuki thought, "-I'll see you soon."
