A/N Hey, guys. Welcome back to more of the Riverdale fanfic featuring my characters. So first before I get started, I want to thank you guys for showing your amazing support so far as I'm a little busy with my other projects. Second, I got my second dose of the vaccine, which means I am fully vaccinated, and I feel really amazing. And third, this chapter is based on the second episode of the first season titled A Touch of Evil. In this chapter, more secrets and details about Jason's murder starts to emerge at Riverdale High, and there will be a reunion with Natalie and Hermione at Pop's later. So, this is the eleventh chapter, the start of the second episode A Touch of Evil, and here we go.

Again, I only own my OCs.

Jughead's Narration: I think many of us, maybe the entire town, had been hoping against hope that somehow Jason Blossom hadn't drowned on July 4th. That we'd come to school Monday morning, and there Jason would be. Or that we'd see him and Cheryl in a booth at Pop's. But that was before the undeniable, irrevocable fact of his bloated, water-logged body, a corpse with a bullet hole in its forehead, and terrible secrets that could only be revealed by the cold, steel blade of a coroner's autopsy scalpel, or the telltale beating of a guilty heart.

As expected, Monday morning didn't go well for everyone in the small town of Riverdale, now having heard about Jason's murder. In the Hawthorne residence, Luke, laying in his bed wearing a sweatshirt and a pair of shorts, got up and went to get ready for school. While brushing his teeth, he hasn't gotten over with a shocking discovery and how Jason's dead body ending up in the Sweetwater River. After taking a shower, he tells his sister good morning as he went to change his Bullet For My Valentine t-shirt and a pair of slim jeans.

Leia, dressed in her nightgown, removed the braids from her hair, and like her brother, she didn't understand how Jason's body had ended up in the Sweetwater River. And her instincts tell her that a few people would be questioned by Kevin's father Sheriff Keller. After cleaning up, she goes to her bedroom and changes into her 5 Seconds of Summer t-shirt and a pair of denim jeans.

"Good morning, mom!" she greeted as she joined her brother for breakfast.

"Good morning, sweetie. I got to go to work today." said Natalie.

"Where's dad?" asked Luke.

"He went out early. He's looking for a job today." Natalie replied.

"Great. Jason's dead body has been discovered and we're gonna act like we don't know nothing at all." Leia commented.

"Let's just get on with our day and see what will happen today." said Luke.

"Before you guys go to school, your dad's gonna bring a dog home. We're gonna have a family discussion with you when you get home today." Natalie reminded.

"We're gonna get a dog? That's pretty new to me." said Leia.

Getting ready for school, the doorbell rang. Wondering who would visit them at early in the morning, Luke walked to the door and comes face to face with Betty.

"Walk to me to school?" she offered.

"Sure thing." he accepted before he called to his sister, "Leia! Betty's here! Time to go!"

"Coming!" Leia replied as she ran downstairs.

"Have a good day, kids!" Natalie called to her son and daughter.

The three teenagers walked to school, as Luke and his sister are wondering why Betty had asked them to walk her to school on Monday morning.

"Did you talk to Archie?" asked Leia.

"We sort of did. And he said he didn't have any feelings for me." Betty replied.

"What else is new?" asked Luke.

"And my mom said I shouldn't even be talking to you guys and Archie." said Betty.

"Great. Just what we need. Betty's mother seeing us as a curse." Luke commented, feeling ungrateful about Betty's mother.

"What do you guys think?" asked Betty.

"I think that she doesn't have a right to control your future." Leia replied.

"You're right about that. But I'm still gonna go against my mother's advice on not talking to you guys, including Archie and Veronica." said Betty.

"We still can't forget about that afterparty at Cheryl's residence." Luke reminded.

"Oh, and guys. Don't tell my mom we're friends again." Betty added.

"You got it." said Luke, regretting that he agreed with that Betty had just said.

"Mom was right about Betty's mother. She's controlling her daughter's future." said Leia.

At school, everyone was laying flowers, framed pictures, stuffed animals, as well as some small candles after hearing about Jason's murder. Luke was at his locker, which is a few feet away from the small vigil at Jason's locker. He glanced at Archie and Jughead, having a small conversation about the others paying their respects. At this point, Luke and his sister wanted to find out what really happened, even if it meant getting themselves into trouble.

Making his way to history class, Luke finds an empty desk by the bookshelf and sat down as he placed his notebook in front of him while his classmates joined him. Before the class can get started, the school's PA system came on.

"Good morning, students. This is your principal speaking." Mr. Weatherbee announced before continuing, "There have been many inquiries about the upcoming pep rally. So, let me state clearly…it is happening as scheduled."

'Looks like the pep rally is gonna go on.' Luke thought, despite the mysterious circumstances surrounding Jason's death.

"Now, on a less felicitous note…if you could give your attention to Sheriff Keller." Mr. Weatherbee continued as he handed the microphone over to the sheriff.

Leia, who was in math class, looked up at the speaker, wondering what details Kevin's father was going to share to her and her brother, as well as her classmates.

"Most of you already know the details, but your classmate Jason Blossom's body was found late Saturday night." Sheriff Keller started before he continued, "So as of the weekend, Jason's death is now being treated as a homicide. It is an open and ongoing investigation."

'Oh, my God.' the younger Hawthorne thought, sharing the same thought as her brother.

"And may I interject, neither I nor my parents will rest until Jason's death is avenged, and his cold-hearted killer is walking the green mile to sit in Old Sparky and fry. I, for one, have my suspicions. #RiverdaleStrong." Cheryl stated.

"I wonder where Cheryl is getting at with her speech." Luke commented.

"If you know anything that could help us find and apprehend Jason's killer, or anything about what happened to him on July 4th, I strongly urge you to come forwards immediately. You can speak with me or Principal Weatherbee. A death like this wounds us all. Let's not let Jason down." Sheriff Keller finished.

Luke then started getting a feeling about the secret Archie is hiding not only from him and his sister, but Jughead. But somehow, the older twin knew Jughead is going to ask Archie a lot of questions about the circumstances surrounding on the 4th of July. And Luke ends up telling himself that sooner or later, Archie will have to confess, even if it meant destroying his secret relationship with Geraldine Grundy, to which Luke doesn't know if Archie's music teacher really is Geraldine Grundy or not.

Wow, talk about a strong and a mysterious start to the eleventh chapter. Let me know what you guys thought of the chapter in the reviews. If you guys are wondering about the rock band outfits that Luke and Leia are wearing, they both have different taste in rock bands such as Green Day, Twenty One Pilots, Bullet For My Valentine, and 5 Seconds of Summer. But anyway, more chapters are coming soon until the finale. In the meantime, you guys can check out my other stories when you have the chance. So, stay safe out there, get the vaccine, and make sure you guys are doing good and not doing anything reckless.
